It was in a lovely location, must be stunning in the summer. Breakfast was amazing! Allowed two dogs which was great. Only negative is our room was above the bar and Friday night was very noisy until the early hours, and no hairdryer in room.

Delightful inn with lovely views across the river and surrounding countryside. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room, although compact, had everything we needed with ample storage for a few days clothing, a comfortable bed and tea & coffee facilities. The ensuite had a good, but not spacious, shower, however, the window was clear glass without a blind and it did feel like you were a little exposed when using the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of choices. Optional lunch or dinner dining is also very good but it is advisable to book. The garden offers some lovely tables for dining riverside if the weather permits.

The Anchor Inn is an amazing place to stay right on the banks of the River Exe. The pub gardens are immacualte, large and the plants are amazing. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable. Highly recommended.

A very popular pub with excellent accommodation The whole outdoors dining / seating area is beautifully kept with lots of plants / flowers making the area more attractive The breakfast menu is immense, The American breakfast beat me and that’s saying something, well cooked, plenty on the late and well presented 👏

Very disappointed I must say. Having spent £70 a night expect a lot better. Bathroom light flickered all the time, two lights in the entrance to the room didn't work at all and when I mentioned that they was aware. The biscuits supplied was over a month out of date and when I complained they went to find more and came back with the excuse the supplier must've send an out of date box, this is a health and safety issue! Got the whole feeling the room at been unoccupied for a while. Finally the shower took near 10 minutes to get hot

Lovely location, we would have liked longer there to relax and enjoy the surroundings but we were staying there as a focal point and it was the long weekend so very busy and noisy on our first night. Family and staff were accommodating and friendly and the room was clean and provided all the necessities. Would have enjoyed the garden if the weather had been warmer. Worth a visit.

Room small for a twin but nice. Some points of cleanliness in room needs attention but did not spoil stay.mattress protectors definitely needed. Better quality pillows also 7/10needed. Darren and Steph were good hosts. 10/10 Staff very good and helpful. Food is excellent very excellent 10/10.

The room was fine the thermostatic radiator valve wasn't working, an unusual winge was that it was so warm we had to open the window (it's a surprisingly busy road into and from Dulverton which of course we heard all night,). There were some dead things in the glass lampshade,and the mattress was the most uncomfortable that we have ever encountered. Let me be clear that the hotel staff etcetera are first class and the only other slight complaint was that dinner was cooked really well but absolutely tasteless (pork belly in cider sauce). Fantastic breakfast, would happily stay again in a different room and bed.

Lovely place but our room could definitely do with a refurb shower not working properly and generally all a little tired.long wait for food on the first night but second night no problem at all very quick service and food could not fault it definitely would stay again..

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were friendly and efficient. It was a very happy experience staying at the Anchor Inn. Exmoor is a wonderful area of the country and everyone we came into contact with were friendly and very welcoming.

I particularly liked the position of the Anchor Inn, picturesque setting overlooking the river, the food was excellent. It was very, very busy, a very hot weekend, and there should have been more staff on duty. They coped as they worked so very hard. We will return.

The garden offers some lovely tables for dining riverside if the weather permits.

There were some dead things in the glass lampshade,and the mattress was the most uncomfortable that we have ever encountered. Let me be clear that the hotel staff etcetera are first class and the only other slight complaint was that dinner was cooked really well but absolutely tasteless (pork belly in cider sauce). I particularly liked the position of the Anchor Inn, picturesque setting overlooking the river, the food was excellent. It was very, very busy, a very hot weekend, and there should have been more staff on duty. They coped as they worked so very hard. We will return.

It was in a lovely location, must be stunning in the summer. Breakfast was amazing! Allowed two dogs which was great. Only negative is our room was above the bar and Friday night was very noisy until the early hours, and no hairdryer in room.

Room is a little too small, the view was beautiful. Food was really good and good portions. We felt breakfast at 9am could have started a bit earlier. Very clean,the little pots with tea and coffee in the room was nice. Staff friendly and helpful.

The Anchor Inn has a great location and the rooms and amenities do the job but are nothing special. My room space was tight, although the bed was comfortable and the shower performed adequately. The included cooked breakfast option is plentiful, freshly prepared and tasty. There's a good dinner menu in the bar and, again, the food seems freshly prepared. If the weather is good (which it was for one of the evenings that I was there), having dinner served out in the garden is very pleasant - a lot of the locals seem to think so as well. However, the restricted check-in time (from 2pm - 5pm) is inconvenient and the process a little haphazard as though I wasn't expected. I found the person checking me in not terribly informative.
