Love the EV chargers and good parking and price

The hotel outside and in is very tired. The room was large with great views, but the bed was sunken and I could feel the springs. The bathroom floor was left dirty throughout, hairs and stains There is a shower curtain over the bath. The lift was out of order and we were on the top floor. No notices were put up for some time. Parking was plentiful and free. Breakfast poor. Service by junior staff generally good. Not value for money. I feel it is being left to go to ruin. Not maintained, old fashioned.

Property has a huge car park and the hotel us easy to find, in an out if town location. Expevt to have a £100 security depusit tajen which i find u usual and is someyhing aybe the hote, will address in future. Rest assured the rooms are comfortable and if breakfast is taken it is excellent

From the outside the hotel looks quite grim and uninviting, but there is not much that can be done about that - it's the building. However, there is ample parking, the welcome was warm, the staff friendly, the room large, comfortable and with a lovely outlook over the golf course. We prepaid for our breakfast which included a normal buffet selection and a freshly cooked option which we couldn't fault. We did not eat an evening meal at the hotel but would have been happy to do so. We will definitely stay here again when we visit family in Grimsby.

Good location and easy parking. Hotel is more of a 3+ rather than 4*. Room- not very clean, hairs around the bathroom, towels smelt old and musty and no soap provided for hand washing. Mattress’s and pillows hard, especially the sofa bed- my children couldn’t sleep on it because it was so hard. Dining area- clean tidy and modern. Breakfast- cereal, toast, pastries, fruits and meats. Quite limited and definitely needs more choice. Cooked breakfast nice and no complaints. Dinner/Tea- Good choice and because we went Bed, breakfast and dinner we had £20 per adults and £10 per child to use towards dinner. My husband had the steak and he said it was great. I had Lasagne and it was ok, bit greasy, it came with a salad which was wilted and greasy tasting chips. Son had Macaroni & cheese which was bland and wouldn’t eat it- normally eats everything! Daughter sausage, beans & chips which she ate all of except chips. Glad we didn’t have to pay full price for this! Staff were really friendly and even though the food times were a bit slow, they were very attentive.

Lots of parking Room was clean and tidy Quiet location apart from the water system, you could hear every time someone used a tap. Towel rail in bathroom i didn't think worked, until i found the isolator located under the shelf with the kettle on. Very strange place to put it. I never ate there so can't comment on the food.

It was good,room was clean,big car park only thing check out is 11.00am.

The outside of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired - pot holed car park, paint pealing off the function rooms. Inside is better and our room was perfectly fine - though the bed had seen better days and didn’t provide a comfortable nights sleep. Staff are great - very friendly and helpful.

Very quiet surroundings and plenty parking spaces which I like most. Shower head was broken and the bed lamp not working which needed improvement.

A tired and dated hotel. Room not cleaned properly - other guest's litter still on the bedroom floor. A balcony but no balcony furniture. No smoking signs but guests smoking on their balconies. £100 pre-authorisation credit card hold required from guests at check in.

Very friendly staff both check in & breakfast. Clean, comfortable room for the night.

Generally had a good experience at his hotel. Only let down was the bath was unclean. Other than this staff were helpful and friendly and the room was to a good size and condition.

Room was supposed to be a deluxe state but it was anything but. The room needed a redecoration, it was not of a standard that would be considered deluxe. A room at a premier inn would outdo this room . It was needing a good clean. The bathroom was dirty by the bath tap and the sink as well as the extractor fan. It also needs a refurb. Mould showing around the tiles.it all looked drab and tired. Nothing deluxe about it- I feel we paid over the odds for this room. The lift wasn’t working( we had received an email before arriving but we thought it would be possibly working by our arrival- it wasn’t and the whole time we stayed we didn’t see any work being done to get the lift working. The stairs looked dirty as well as the carpeting both on the stairs and leading to the rooms as well as it was bubbling up ready to cause a trip hazard . The eating area was next to the reception- all open plan; it was chilly- no barriers to help make it feel like a private place to eat and relax. No idea why this wasn’t thought of at the planning stage. It would have cut down the noise and echo as well as the feel one was eating in a room and not a big reception area with all the comings and going’s of people arriving for rooms or the ins and outs of people from the conference area using the toilets. Very disappointing visit. We thought we had found a gem of a hotel to stay at while visiting family.

Housekeeping very poor

Our room was very spacious clean and tidy . The bed was comfortable and housekeeping came in every day to change towels and replenish tea and coffee . The food was excellent and the staff were great . Overall a really good stay .

Friendly helpful staff with nice food and a welcoming atmosphere. However my room was very big and the heating was turned off in December. Turned it on but the radiator was not big enough to heat the room by bedtime. It was just about warm enough the next day. There was also some areas that weren’t that clean: cobwebs in corner on walls from top to bottom and lamps were dusty. There were no switches next to bed to turn lights out either. This all might have been just one room as rest of hotel was warm and clean. Finally tv remote was broken as was hairdryer. Receptionist kindly brought new batteries but back was also missing.

Comfortable bed only stay. Room nice size, nice balcony view and comfy bed. Good shower. Staff professional and polite. The outside / first sight of the hotel lets it down.

Clean and convenient. Very friendly staff. I will definitely go again. I didn’t like the mattress, uncomfortable. I tried 2 different rooms in my stat and both have poor quality uncomfortable mattresses.

Hotel is showing its age and needs external refresh and room facilities are basic i.e. does not have usb points in this computer age! Furniture has seen better days, chairs require attention. Adequate for a short stopover. No information at all in the room other than statutory fire notices. Had to ask if tap was drinking water no notice was not convinced of answer I think so, used bottle water.!

Good value for the price. Spacious room, a little tired in the bathroom. Grateful for full-length opening patio door as it was a warm night and there is no a/c (which I don’t like anyway). A partial view view from the balcony over the golf course. Bit noisy outside on Sat eve as a wedding party was in full swing but bearable and not too late. Would have liked breakfast included in the price.

Friendly and efficient staff. My room was clean and comfortable, but with one major problem: no room lighting apart from at the desk/dressing table and tiny bedhead reading lights. This is totally ridiculous, and it needs at least a standard lamp by the table & chairs. The evening meal was good.

The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable although there was a lack of lighting.

We have stayed at this hotel previously and the staff are always helpful. The hotel has ample parking and the bar/restaurant area is lovely. The room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the golf course, however, the plug socket nearest the bed is not usuable so we had to ask for an extension cable which trailed across the room. The hair dryer didnt work and the extra towels (only 1 put in bathroom) were hidden in a drawer in main room. We had to request to move rooms at 2am due to the heating being put on for first time and the noise and movement of the pipes caused the room to vibrate! The staff were helpful in providing us with another room but would be better to put the heating on during day for first time when people aren't trying to sleep.

Nice hotel good breakfast but mattress was tired and sagged

Staff all can't do enough for you to make your stay comfortable. Even when I had a problem with the water supply in my room the guy on reception raced up to see me and gave me a key to the next door room to use the facilities there. Looking forward to my next stay.

Lovely friendly staff , although manager on morning duty got to involved and messed up my breakfast order resulting in waiting nearly an hour and making me late for work

On arrival, the building looks like a run-down, disused office block, with a huge, almost empty, car park and no obvious reception entrance. However, once you find the entrance at the side and go in to reception, everything changes. From reception staff to chef, everyone was helpful, efficient and friendly. Our room on the top floor was quiet, clean and comfortable, with a lovely view across the golf course. Dinner was tasty and nicely served and breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had in a while. Overall, it was an excellent stay and we will definitely return. Don't let first appearances put you off!

Overall our stay at the Humber Royal Hotel was good. The service was excellent as was the food. The rooms were clean and well supplied. The beds very comfortable and had good quality sleep. We didn’t realise that Sunday evening the Hotel did not supply a evening meal which we didn’t realise, but thankfully there was a pub locally that we could walk to. The outside of the Hotel could do with a face lift and make the building look like a Hotel. Some of the furnishings could do with a refurbishment.

Be prepared for an extra £100 deposit to be paid upon check in. I’m always dubious about that as when it happens I’ve always had to chase for weeks for the refund. There is no mention of it at all on Hotels.com or in the booking small print. The hotel itself is lovely, looks tired outside but the rooms are nice and comfortable. I also had a nice balcony. As I was staying on business, I was hoping to get a good nights sleep however the room next door were partying all night playing loud music, singing and banging on the walls resulting in no sleep at all. I tried calling reception but no answer. I didn’t try the food but it the menu looked good. Staff on check in were lovely.

Was told when i booked if room was ready when we arrived we could check in for free no didnt happen so we asked for early check-in no cant do that verry disappointed had to get changed in the toilet as we had be some where for 1 0clock

This was for a 2 night stay whilst visiting a family member in Grimsby hospital....the hotel was exactly what i needed and breakfast was good in the morning. Comfortable and clean and very pleased about the fan in the room as it was very hot

The location overlooking the golf course with a balcony was good , no natural light in room to wake you , excellent breakfast and great staff who did everything possible for me

Friendly staff, convenient location.

Room was smarter as was externals, had a refresh? Breakfast was much as previous, they need new toasters, meal arrives from kitchen before a couple of slices of bread look even a pale shade of brown! Bacon was a challenge for the knives provided, not crispy just shoe leather hard.

I stay here regularly and find it very comfortable and clean with friendly, helpful staff. NB no dinners are served on Sunday evenings and no room service either. I had to leave the hotel to find an evening meal on Sunday.

I have stayed quite a few times and often chosen to eat out as the food was not great. This has all changed - the food was excellent, making this hotel my number one pick for Grimsby. The rooms are smart, with plenty of plug points and a decent over-bath shower. The wi-fi works and there is a massive free car park.

The restaurant food was fantastic, hotel looks like block of flats outside, don’t let this put you off as room was spacious and clean. Food in restaurant was the best I’ve had in hotel and so reasonable priced

The mixed grill I ordered was overcooked, with very dry meats. The continental breakfast selection in the morning was poor. The room was clean and nice but very cold in the morning. The staff were pleasant but did not offer much help when these issues were brought to their attention other than agreeing that it was an issue.
