Property was very drab and uninviting on the outside but inside looks lovely( at least the bit that has been renovated.). Unfortunately the pool is closed at the moment. The setting is lovely along the bank of the River Clyde. The bedroom was a good size as were the beds( 2 singles pushed together so we had plenty of room). We also had a hopitality tray which inclued 2 pieces of shortbread which was a nice touch. Only complaint about the bedroom was that the windows were single glazed, so we were able to hear the traffic . Also the curtains could have done with a wash( looked liked someone had opened them with chocolate on their fingers). What really let this hotel down was the breakfast. The first morning we were shown where to sit in the empty dining room even though for the next 45 mins we only saw one guest come in for breakfast. After that we didnt see one member of staff. There were no breakfast plates and we had to go find someone to get us some. There were flasks with hot water and coffee but neither was labelled. I had cereal to start with and saw a flask assuming it was warm milk - it was cold water which wasnt nice on my cereal! The hot breakfast was only luke warm. The next morning there were a lot more staff about and unfortunately the breakfast was more cold than lukewarm. Obviously the heated lamps it sits under were not doing their job.. We have stayed in this particular hotel quite a few times and at the moment i'm not sure if we would return.

There was litter in the car park - not a good introduction. The lift was out of order and the stairways were dirty. Disabled friend had to be taken in the service lift and getting to it was a nightmare. There were no instructions about in the event of fire and i dread to think... The bedroom was clean.

My fiancée and I stayed here for the night while we were moving house. We read a few bad reviews after booking but were very pleasantly surprised at what we found. The property is under refurbishment and the room we stayed in (4th floor) has been renovated. We both slept like logs. The bed was very comfy and the views out over the river were lovely. The pool was closed as part of the renovation (August 2025). Parking is free for hotel guests. The location is pretty but I would recommend a car to get about. Glasgow city centre is about 10 miles away. The hotel would be very convenient for Glasgow airport. The staff made our stay. Payal and Sam at reception were warm and friendly, which is just what we needed! We didn’t eat at the hotel but the menu looked decent with plenty of vegetarian options. We will stay again the next time we fly out of Glasgow airport.

Stayed at this hotel for one night after returning from a holiday. I’ll start off by saying, the staff who were actually there were amazing, and totally blameless. However, this hotel is abysmal. We arrived just as 2 busloads of French tourists were checking in. The poor receptionist was run off her feet, but stopped what she was doing to help us. She explained that the hotel was closing the following Wednesday for refurbishment and the staff had been told that they were losing their jobs. As a result they had walked out, or hadn’t come in for their shift, leaving a handful to run the hotel. She was having to turn people away as they were overbooked, there was an 18th birthday party on that evening, and both the lifts weren’t working. We were told that we could use the service lift to access the upper floors, thus avoiding the 12 flights of fire escape stairs ! This involved being led through the bowels of the hotel, showing views of obscene graffiti left by disgruntled ex-employees, to a rickety lift which probably should have been condemned in the mid eighties. The room was surprisingly good, apart from the bathroom, which was old, grimy and stained. And the TV hanging off the wall. And the dust. And the missing Remote. The manager was the only member of staff left come morning, so I take my hat off to him as he carted 87 bags up and down the fire escape for the tourists Muthu are a disgrace allowing the hotel to remain open

AVOID. Honestly, awful hotel, overpriced. The room had an amazing view of the Erskine Bridge. That's its only redeeming feature. In spite of the hotel description it didnt have: blackout curtains, complimentary water, hairdryer, iron or ironing board. The windows were filthy and the hose from the shower was great, if you were 5' 6", but no good if you were any taller. To say the doors banged was an understatement, the room shook. I told reception and they said sorry. We'd booked 2 nights, left after 1. Additionally, it's in the middle of nowhere, so make sure you have a car.

Booked this hotel for 2 nights based on the room pictures. Then I saw the exterior picture! Arrived late afternoon, driving along a tatty driveway, into an almost empty carpark that looked more like waste ground with an abandoned car in the corner. The hotel looked derelict. What I assume might have been a swimming pool building looked filthy. Inside the foyer and reception were amazing. My room was just like in the pictures. A little bit dusty, a little bit worn. But it felt like being in some kind of surreal experience. When I went out for the evening and came back, reception was deserted. Ditto the next day. I don't know if this is in the middle of a refurbishment or what. And no wifi in the rooms. I think you could "plug in" to the internet, but no wifi on the 6th floor.

The stay was terrible the rooms where needing a deep clean and the pool was closed my son an sisters baby’s was looking foward to the swimming we all where it was £88 no offer was on even no I heard a women say so dinner deals with stay it’s a joke the whole stay am upset the exposed wires ect couldn’t let baby to crawl brother in law got an electric shock rusty hole thing on bath pee on seat was there wen checked in I went to our room an was disgusting I loved this hotel I’ll be taken it further not what I was after needed a night away so shocked

Lovely hotel, clean and spacious. Room was clean with all amenities provided. Breakfast - buffet style, not many options for food, and personally food undercooked (pink bacon, white scrambled eggs). Still edible but not to personal taste

The beds are comfy, rooms are quite clean, found two hairs in bathroom, paid full breakfast and was given only very limited cold food and was asked to pay extra £15 for hot food, then when checking out was told it was by mistake, the breakfast waiter shall have a breakfast guest list to verify all incoming guests this way he would know who is still missing so when we arrived 9:15 am with my son he got only rice flakes with milk … I like the lobby and bar, from outside it is dated but inside quite nice.

Car park a small distance away from hotel entrance. On arrival there was a confusion of room as we request 2 single beds. Our room was on the 6th floor, on the way to the room the floors were very slippy due to water leaking from some where. Room was ok, clean and well presented. Good view. Breakfast was ok had to wait 30 mins for eggs to come. Wifi was good, no room service or phone in room to contact reception.

Lovely clean hotel decorated with an Indian vibe, landing was really dark but people were fixing the problem with head torches on, room & shower great size, downside was tv was un watchable the signal drops out constantly. We had had room right next to the lift which went up & down all night & kept me awake that along with doors slamming all night I got no sleep at all. Shame really cause hotel was really nice & close to the airport.

An absolutely unforgettably positive experience! My stay at the Mushu Glasgow River Hotel was a great experience where the room was elegantly impressive, wonderful outdoor view of the river and mountains & the bed was comfortable and kept me very warm in the winter. The room was clean, spacious and had all the necessary amenities. Whilst the shower pressure was a little too low and the temperature difficult to adjust (it remained hot despite multiple attempts to adjust the temperature knob), it worked as intended and I was able to freshen up. My evening dinner was absolutely perfect, delicious, and satisfyingly filling. An absolutely unforgettably positive experience! My stay at the Mushu Glasgow River Hotel was a great experience where the room was elegantly impressive, wonderful outdoor view of the river and mountains & the bed was comfortable and kept me very warm in the winter. The room was clean, spacious and had all the necessary amenities. Whilst the shower pressure was a little too low and the temperature difficult to adjust (it remained hot despite multiple attempts to adjust the temperature knob), it worked as intended and I was able to freshen up. My evening dinner was absolutely perfect, delicious, and satisfyingly filling. Property was very drab and uninviting on the outside but inside looks lovely( at least the bit that has been renovated.). Unfortunately the pool is closed at the moment. The setting is lovely along the bank of the River Clyde. The bedroom was a good size as were the beds( 2 singles pushed together so we had plenty of room). We also had a hopitality tray which inclued 2 pieces of shortbread which was a nice touch. Only complaint about the bedroom was that the windows were single glazed, so we were able to hear the traffic . Also the curtains could have done with a wash( looked liked someone had opened them with chocolate on their fingers). What really let this hotel down was the breakfast. The first morning we were shown where to sit in the empty dining room even though for the next 45 mins we only saw one guest come in for breakfast. After that we didnt see one member of staff. There were no breakfast plates and we had to go find someone to get us some. There were flasks with hot water and coffee but neither was labelled. I had cereal to start with and saw a flask assuming it was warm milk - it was cold water which wasnt nice on my cereal! The hot breakfast was only luke warm. The next morning there were a lot more staff about and unfortunately the breakfast was more cold than lukewarm. Obviously the heated lamps it sits under were not doing their job.. We have stayed in this particular hotel quite a few times and at the moment i'm not sure if we would return.

Booked this hotel for 2 nights based on the room pictures. Then I saw the exterior picture! Arrived late afternoon, driving along a tatty driveway, into an almost empty carpark that looked more like waste ground with an abandoned car in the corner. The hotel looked derelict. What I assume might have been a swimming pool building looked filthy. Inside the foyer and reception were amazing. My room was just like in the pictures. A little bit dusty, a little bit worn. But it felt like being in some kind of surreal experience. When I went out for the evening and came back, reception was deserted. Ditto the next day. I don't know if this is in the middle of a refurbishment or what. And no wifi in the rooms. I think you could "plug in" to the internet, but no wifi on the 6th floor.

My fiancée and I stayed here for the night while we were moving house. We read a few bad reviews after booking but were very pleasantly surprised at what we found. The property is under refurbishment and the room we stayed in (4th floor) has been renovated. We both slept like logs. The bed was very comfy and the views out over the river were lovely. The pool was closed as part of the renovation (August 2025). Parking is free for hotel guests. The location is pretty but I would recommend a car to get about. Glasgow city centre is about 10 miles away. The hotel would be very convenient for Glasgow airport. The staff made our stay. Payal and Sam at reception were warm and friendly, which is just what we needed! We didn’t eat at the hotel but the menu looked decent with plenty of vegetarian options. We will stay again the next time we fly out of Glasgow airport.

The beds are comfy, rooms are quite clean, found two hairs in bathroom, paid full breakfast and was given only very limited cold food and was asked to pay extra £15 for hot food, then when checking out was told it was by mistake, the breakfast waiter shall have a breakfast guest list to verify all incoming guests this way he would know who is still missing so when we arrived 9:15 am with my son he got only rice flakes with milk … I like the lobby and bar, from outside it is dated but inside quite nice.

Car park a small distance away from hotel entrance. On arrival there was a confusion of room as we request 2 single beds. Our room was on the 6th floor, on the way to the room the floors were very slippy due to water leaking from some where. Room was ok, clean and well presented. Good view. Breakfast was ok had to wait 30 mins for eggs to come. Wifi was good, no room service or phone in room to contact reception.

Hotel only opened in July. Only two floors of accommodation are in use and work is underway on the other bedrooms. Our arrival our room was very noisy and we had to move. Hotel staff were excellent. The dinner we had was outstanding and good value.

After having an email that said "sorry you have cancelled your stay", I called to confirm I hadn't cancelled and was asured they had made a mistake and I was booked in. On arrival 2 days later I was told I had cancelled and they had no other rooms available. Last time I will book with this shower.

Comfortable bed. Had quite a 'budget' feel overall. It was about the cheapest hotel in the area in terms of price and it definitely felt it it most ways. Looks and feels like needs a lot of maintenance. We joked in the elevator on arrival that the voice announcing the floor level sounded Sybil Fawlty-esque (Fawlty Towers). Little did we know that the Fawlty Towers feeling would pervade further. We booked for 2 guests but the room had 1 towel and 1 hand towel. Breakfast was included in our room rate- NEVER pay extra for the breakfast here. Were told on checkin that breakfast was from 8am. Thought that sounded late. On arrival at the dining room at 8:10am, it was clear that many people had already eaten and left. I think the hotel had about 3 coach tours and wanted them to have breakfast before non-tour guests. Certainly had a sense of being a second class guest. We were told to take any table we wanted. After walking around, it was clear that there were NO set tables. I asked the attendant if she could point out a table that was set and we could use and she said she'd set one up. The fruit salad and yoghurt was almost gone and none was replaced in the 40 minutes we were there. We and other guests had to ask for a range of things not being replenished- cutlery, coffee mug, cereal bowl. Unfortunately, I don't believe I've ever encountered a worse breakfast in terms of appointments and food quality. Staff were courteous, accommodating when asked to assist.

We had a lovely weekend, the rooms were clean and comfy the rest of the hotel was dated but clean and is undergoing a referb, the food was very nice we paid for B&B but had our evening meals there as well no complaints everything we had was really lovely. The staff were great very friendly and helpful even through the hotel was really busy being a disabled guest I couldn't fault the staff and the accessibility was excellent

Stayed at this hotel for one night after returning from a holiday. I’ll start off by saying, the staff who were actually there were amazing, and totally blameless. However, this hotel is abysmal. We arrived just as 2 busloads of French tourists were checking in. The poor receptionist was run off her feet, but stopped what she was doing to help us. She explained that the hotel was closing the following Wednesday for refurbishment and the staff had been told that they were losing their jobs. As a result they had walked out, or hadn’t come in for their shift, leaving a handful to run the hotel. She was having to turn people away as they were overbooked, there was an 18th birthday party on that evening, and both the lifts weren’t working. We were told that we could use the service lift to access the upper floors, thus avoiding the 12 flights of fire escape stairs ! This involved being led through the bowels of the hotel, showing views of obscene graffiti left by disgruntled ex-employees, to a rickety lift which probably should have been condemned in the mid eighties. The room was surprisingly good, apart from the bathroom, which was old, grimy and stained. And the TV hanging off the wall. And the dust. And the missing Remote. The manager was the only member of staff left come morning, so I take my hat off to him as he carted 87 bags up and down the fire escape for the tourists Muthu are a disgrace allowing the hotel to remain open

AVOID. Honestly, awful hotel, overpriced. The room had an amazing view of the Erskine Bridge. That's its only redeeming feature. In spite of the hotel description it didnt have: blackout curtains, complimentary water, hairdryer, iron or ironing board. The windows were filthy and the hose from the shower was great, if you were 5' 6", but no good if you were any taller. To say the doors banged was an understatement, the room shook. I told reception and they said sorry. We'd booked 2 nights, left after 1. Additionally, it's in the middle of nowhere, so make sure you have a car.

Lovely clean hotel decorated with an Indian vibe, landing was really dark but people were fixing the problem with head torches on, room & shower great size, downside was tv was un watchable the signal drops out constantly. We had had room right next to the lift which went up & down all night & kept me awake that along with doors slamming all night I got no sleep at all. Shame really cause hotel was really nice & close to the airport.

Inside hotel much nicer than outside which is run down and dirty. Inside is very nice and beds were the best I’ve had so comfy. Food options is very limited and expensive and stops at 8.45pm. Overall I wouldn’t stay again as food options and affordability is key for me and location a little further than I would usually go.

There was litter in the car park - not a good introduction. The lift was out of order and the stairways were dirty. Disabled friend had to be taken in the service lift and getting to it was a nightmare. There were no instructions about in the event of fire and i dread to think... The bedroom was clean.

My fiancée and I stayed here for the night while we were moving house. We read a few bad reviews after booking but were very pleasantly surprised at what we found. The property is under refurbishment and the room we stayed in (4th floor) has been renovated. We both slept like logs. The bed was very comfy and the views out over the river were lovely. The pool was closed as part of the renovation (August 2025). Parking is free for hotel guests. The location is pretty but I would recommend a car to get about. Glasgow city centre is about 10 miles away. The hotel would be very convenient for Glasgow airport. The staff made our stay. Location is great. Door cant be locked, bath in a disgusting state, the tv looks ready to fall off the wall and having to listen to someone strimming grass for 2 hours (4:15 - 6:30) without safety gear on, quite obvious they didnt know how to use it and with music headphones on which is dangerous not to mention not legal in the work envioroment.

Hotel only opened in July. Only two floors of accommodation are in use and work is underway on the other bedrooms. Our arrival our room was very noisy and we had to move. Hotel staff were excellent. The dinner we had was outstanding and good value.

An absolutely unforgettably positive experience! My stay at the Mushu Glasgow River Hotel was a great experience where the room was elegantly impressive, wonderful outdoor view of the river and mountains & the bed was comfortable and kept me very warm in the winter. The room was clean, spacious and had all the necessary amenities. Whilst the shower pressure was a little too low and the temperature difficult to adjust (it remained hot despite multiple attempts to adjust the temperature knob), it worked as intended and I was able to freshen up. My evening dinner was absolutely perfect, delicious, and satisfyingly filling. Compliments to the chef and many thanks to the waiters and waitresses - they were extremely professional, knowledgeable and personable & enhanced my evening experience. (The 'Sex on the Beach' Cocktail was divine... more of that please!) Overall, my stay was captivating in all the right ways, and I might even try visiting the pool next time! Very pretty but clear savings being made as everything but the furniture, floors etc, cheap. Breakfast terrible, dried out buffet with very limited choice. No vegetarian breakfast option. Eggs dried out.

it was a lovely hotel, great value for money with parking available but breakfast let it down, there were pancakes with no fruit and it was very limited in general only tea and coffee, no cappuccinos

The hotel's exterior is very tired and run down, although its location beside the river is pleasant. Unfortunately, the room had an unusual smell, which appeared to be coming from the bed linen. The marble flooring throughout the hotel also made it extremely noisy, as every footstep and movement of furniture echoed around the building. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but not one I would wish to repeat.

Really disappointed. Only chose as advertised as 9.8 miles away from landmark. Was over 20 and cost a fortune travelling. Poorly advertised. Unclean, was a cockroach in the bath upon arrival. Bathroom not as advertised. Really poor considering I got a junior suite. Staff were completely uninterested. Nobody serving at the bar, had to keep asking reception. Unable to order food, told I had to wait for a buffet?!
