The Murray Hotel is located in the Arts District of downtown Silver City. The building is dated 1938, and care is taken to maintain the vintage vibe and highlight the architectural features. The room and adjoining private bath was very clean with nice bedding. A good choice!!

Am a repeat customer but haven’t been here since Covid 2020. The rooms are small but quiet. No coffee pot but a fridge and microwave furnished. New carpet. We stayed 3 nights and were informed no housekeeping was provided unless requested. Very disappointed. We had to ask the cleaning staff when they were pushing carts for new garbage bags and towels. One other suggestion. The lobby is beautiful but staff should move the furniture when dusting the floors. You can see where they dusted around the chairs. Lots of dirt/dust

This room was disgusting! Food, water bottles, used tissues, candy wrappers and to top it off a left over toe nail. Room was “cleaned” twice after we complained to find they missed a used fork on the floor. After all this they said they would knock $25 off of our bill.

We loved our stay all the people and staff we met were all very nice! The television didn’t work channels would fade in and out? The bathroom was too small , had to sit at an angle to be comfortable! We would like to stay again but in a bigger room! The queen bed room was the only one available!

Was looking forward to seeing Silver City and staying at this art deco hotel. Room was 86 degrees when we checked in and it never went below 80. Hose kept coming disconnected from the window and the A/C itself. Even when it was 67 degrees outside, it was 80-83 in the room. Breakfast was good, but a hot room just sours the trip. Manager came up and said it’s blowing cool air so it should cool off, never did. I mentioned it to the morning clerk when we checked out and she gave me that Gen Z stare I’ve heard so much about. Nearby brewpub was good and nearby coffee shop was good (super awesome patio with a stream), but the town was pretty much closed up on a Sunday.

Hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the pillows were horrible. Very hard. The room did not have AC. I had to ask for a fan to cool the room. Definitely would not stay here in the summer. Other than that it was fine.

Unfortunately the therostat in the room was inoperable and the temperature in the room was not guest controlled. Too warm at night. Had to resort to opening the window to cool the room down. Was offered a fan but fans blow air, don't cool it down.

Rooms are small but to be expected at a renovated 50s hotel. You can't control the heat and the ventilation is poor. Beds were very uncomfortable had a lousy nights sleep. Breakfast was minimal.

For that reason, it’s not for everyone; for instance, the bathrooms have not been remodeled—they are still small with little counter space as you’d expect in a 1940s hotel. However, they have the beautiful, original tile work and fixtures. The employees and manager were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast had good coffee, waffles, oatmeal, bread and muffins, cereal in a spacious dining room. The location of the hotel is perfect! Easy walk to shops, restaurants, and galleries. Wonderful experience and I will stay there again!

I arrived early to the hotel at 115p. It’s one of my favorite places to stay when I’m in Silver city. I politely asked if there’s a possibility of checking in early, the young lady at the Front Desk said she’ll try to get me in by 2:30 at best, but she has to wait for the room to be cleaned but guaranteed by 3p at worst. Of course, I thanked her for that information. I went for a short walk to the ATM to get some money and when I returned to the lobby at 2:08 PM, she said I can get in right now. I was beyond happy that she made the effort. I had dinner reservations at 3:30p. I made sure to leave a gratuity for both the front desk and housekeeping I appreciated everything. Another successful stay at the Murry!

This is a fabulous hotel. The staff is extremely pleasant and friendly. You get complementary continental breakfast in the morning. It’s so centrally located to everything you want in Silver city what a fabulous property. Historic and fabulous. The bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Shower would not work. Diverter valve in bathtub faucet would not work. Discovered at 6:30 am. Called front desk and was told to stick my fingers up the bathtub faucet and twist to make valve work. Did not work. Called front desk again. Was told he could try and contact maintenance, no ETA given. 30 minutes later, front desk called and said we could use the shower across the hall. Declined offer because we had already attempted to bathe and it was a ludicrous suggestion. Spoke with general manager later that morning, was told I refused two solutions and I could not receive any type of discount or refund because I booked through Expedia and prepaid.

Most of the staff were courteous and helpful. A few were aloof and focused most intently on callers. One was abruptly dismissive of my request at checkout and waved me off because he was on the phone with I presume a prospective customer..

Friendly at check-in. Hotel was nice, room was clean. Issues - coffee available 24 hours, but we could not get them to fill the empty decaf coffee pot. Both coffee pots were empty at breakfast. Guests were not happy. Breakfast did not include any hot items. Replacement of original radiators was not done correctly, our thermostat in the room did not work. They said they had no other rooms available, and brought up a portable radiator. Printer trouble prevented getting a receipt, and the desk employee was away cleaning up the breakfast area when we arrived to check-out. More attention to customer service is needed. Street parking only, so you may be parking some distance from the hotel.

I loved staying at this 1940s art deco hotel! The original architecture and style have been preserved. For that reason, it’s not for everyone; for instance, the bathrooms have not been remodeled—they are still small with little counter space as you’d expect in a 1940s hotel. However, they have the beautiful, original tile work and fixtures. The employees and manager were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast had good coffee, waffles, oatmeal, bread and muffins, cereal in a spacious dining room. The location of the hotel is perfect! Easy walk to shops, restaurants, and galleries. Wonderful experience and I will stay there again!

This is an historic building on the Arts avenue. Very clean room and generous bedding and towels. Thoughtful setup for the continental breakfast . This our Go To hotel when visiting Silver City.

We loved the Art Deco style of the hotel. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was ok but not great. Room smelled clean for being in an old 40’s style building. King Bed was comfortable and was a nice place to arrive and rest. Bathroom was kind of small with no fan but, just feeling the vibe of the old style far outweighed the negative aspects. Would definitely recommend and if out that way again, would stay again.

This is a fabulous hotel. The staff is extremely pleasant and friendly. You get complementary continental breakfast in the morning. It’s so centrally located to everything you want in Silver city what a fabulous property. Historic and fabulous. The bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Very clean. Staff was friendly. I loved the location. My dog was welcome, and breakfast was great. I woke early at 6 and breakfast was ready, took a walk on historic streets, came back at 8 just a tad hungry so had a little snack. Great fun!

Things that need improvement toilet is extremely cramped and crowded by wall on one side and sink on other; very awkward (we are average size adults) no hand holds in tub/shower; this is dangerous; also no place to set things in shower had to ask for towel service and shampoo; soaps very tiny considering two adults no dresser to store clothing; left in suitcases window air conditioner and loud tv had no cable, no usage instructions and were unable to get help from desk bedside lighting for reading only on one side of bed two night stay but told at check in there would be no maid service or entry into our room on second day; if we needed anything we could find someone to ask the room (one queen size bed) was VERY small For the price that we paid we expected better and were disappointed overall Things that were good breakfasts were good with adequate choices room and rest of hotel were very clean and common areas attractive
