To summarize my experience in one word, it was disappointing. To start with positives: the people who work there were very nice. The room was clean, and the hot water in the shower was plentiful and had good pressure -- most of the time. On the downside -- and I am not sure if the fault is with the Cleveland House or the Hotel.com 1. The room was not at all as shown in the pictures. We paid for a "Deluxe Queen Bedroom." The actual room was very small (probably 10 by 10 feet) and was furnished with very basic bed, one nightstand, and one desk -- all old and not in the best of condition. If this is the "Deluxe," I hate to see their "standard' room. 2. The WiFi connection was inconsistent. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not. 3. The Breakfast was a far cry from the pictures and the lavish praise on Hotel.com. It was very basic, and definitely not worth the extra $38 per night, which they (again, I am not sure whether the Cleveland House or the Hotel.com) charge for it. The breakfast room was in a separate building and served 3 or 4 different nearby inns belonging to this "Inns of Newport" company. The seating was inadequate to accommodate all of the people coming for breakfast. 4. The toilet did not flush properly. The handle was not working, and I had to lift the tank cover and pull the chain manually every time I wanted to flush the toilet. It was annyoing, and despite our complaints, in 3 day that we stayed there it was not fixed. 5. Last day the water was shut off.
