The staff in this hotel is extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious in every single restaurant (even the plant based dishes). There were plenty of activities to do during the day. The beach is just so beautiful and facilities are well cared for and enjoyable. However, I went to this hotel for the wellness concept and had in mind getting in the spa for pampering. I found all the treatments outrageously; around €400 for the cheapest massage (not even in a 5* hotel in Dublin or London). It destroyed my expectation and frankly found this as rip-off. The bar in the pool is not minded by the staff. I had to go to the restaurant or beach bar every time to get drinks. Also, the pool bar didn’t have tonic water for 3 days in a row, so I couldn’t get a basic gin/vodka tonic. Wine with dinners were not great and we would have expected betters options for the inclusive price. There is no entertainment at night and the music is turned off really early (9pm). Last drinks are 11pm. Lastly, there weren’t many fresh juice options but orange, the rest of options were processed juices. I think it went against the natural concept of the resort. With all this said, we truly enjoyed the resort but certainly would expect a bit more when paying these prices. To stay and additional night was more than 1275 USD.

This is our 2nd time visiting Palmaia and it was just as magical as the first visit 3 years ago. Everything about our stay was amazing. The rituals that we attended were Yoga, Cacao ceremony, Fermentation class (bread making), and watercolor painting. We highly recommend these activities. Shout out to Mauricio! He has a lot of knowledge regarding fermentation and cooking. We also booked a spa service at Atlantis and it was relaxing and rejuvinating. We were surpised by monkeys outside of the spa waiting area, which added a wonderful surpise to the peacefulness of the space. Every meal was delcious and was matched by top notch service. Special shout out to our waiters Luis and Alejandro. Ismael at Eolo was also great! We loved hanging out at the bar in the evening next to the fire and listening to music. The entire crew including our nomad guides (Karen and Andres) were extremely gracious, kind, and accomodating. Thank you for taking great care of us! We loved every minute of our visit.

Good: Food quality, service, spa. Bad: Not enough beach / pool chairs for guests (staff did nothing to prohibit the ‘reserving / holding’ of spaces with towels early in the morning so no one could use the empty seating areas … shame on fellow guests), lots of kids, a bit understaffed (waiters). Resort a bit big for my tastes. Overall rating: 8.5 (very, very good; but not great).

Writing a lengthy review since we struggled to commit to this property as it appears a little niche. We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed it for the most part. The condition, cleanliness and style of the property are all excellent. UME was very good and some of the best sushi I've had. Yoga was great, gym facilities limited yet workable but no constant cleaning like other 5* we've stayed. The food was the single best thing and all credit to the kitchen staff for the constantly high level especially since the non-vegans would request many off-menu items or tweaks etc. Bar staff deserve a nod for their attentiveness on the few occasions we were there and the NYE was a credit to all involved, most enjoyable and well ran. On a general view point the service was patchy for this rating and price point... from missing towels, forgotten waters to multiple wrong orders, mainly in the main restaurant. The staff are super nice, friendly & helpful but could do with a few extra staff members and more training as do the middle manager we encountered who had no idea how to escalate and deal with issues when they occur. There are the tiresome sun-bed games, again a surprise for this level of hotel but we just located ourselves in the less attractive areas to avoid silly hogging that many others do.

The programs at Palmaia are outstanding. The meditations, sound bath, singing bells, rituals and healing breath sessions are exceptional. Facilities are beautiful, rooms are wonderful, beach cabanas are great. This was our second visit to the resort, and we stayed for 9 days 2 days from our first visit. We found that the noise level was higher, music was too loud for a meditation focused hotel. We found that the food, while very good, was not varied enough and after eating at Ume, Lex and Mar d\'Olivo twice, there was nothing else we wanted to eat. They did not have nightly specials, which would have helped. Also, the cocktail menu was reduced from the last visit which was disappointing. However, the beach bar mixologists were amazing. We just asked them to get creative and the cocktails were out of this world. The resort had two "retreats" which they did not manage very well. The retreat guests had booming disco music in a tent right beside the meditation tent. Our meditation session was ruined. The Cacao ceremony was also ruined because of these "special" guests. Palmaia needs better management. If one of the events had been moved it would have been fine. Beach service was slow on this visit. Not enough staff and the kitchen and bar was awfully slow.

magnifique endroit, merci à Oscar, Dany et Gloria pour le service exceptionnel, merci aux formidables profs de yoga, Yvan, Angel, merci pour la cérémonie du cacao et pour les vélos disponibles un peu partout, c’est vraiment cool de pouvoir se promener dans la jungle et d’explorer les cenote, les grottes et de voir les singes :) la plage est magnifique et les soirées du au bord du feu sur les place sont magiques!

Second time here.. first time in may 2023. Fantastic. Clean property that combines jungle and ocean front rooms in spectacular views. Very friendly staff. Very calming setting and set ip to be that way. If you are a cruise person who likes to trip over by people and having people right and left, this is not for you. If you like quietness, serenity, and nature, this is the spot for you. Food? Yes it is vegan resort. I am mostly carnivore and came back here as the quality is really good. You have three main restaurants that re open, Su Casa, Ume, and Lek. The Mar De Olive that is advertised online on the website is closed but you can get some of its menu out of Su Casa. In addition to the above, there is a Taco truck that has been also closed (can get its food from Su Casa) and a Cafe (Plantis) Out of the above, for dinner, Ume is ghe best. It is Japanese fusion Second is Su Casa, which has great food and nice views as it is ocean front and open for breakfast and lunch. Open for dinner too but see note below. Third is Lek which is ok. Note: Dinner used to rotate where u have two options a night, now only one place a night open for dinner. While this can be a bit annoying, still didn’t affect the overall experience and we didn’t feel that the food was redundant. Childcare: available at the kids club they have and very nice. Available for three ans above to be left there and potty trained. Otherwise, you have to clarify with them as this changes. Spa: amazing and a must.

Everything was great! The team working over there are fantastic, they not only provide best customer service but they transmit this calmness and vibe that immediately make you feel relaxed. The food and drinks are an experience, each bite you taste something different, the presentation is gorgeous. The only not so great things for us were that everything, even beach club, closes at 11pm, I know they don’t want to become a party hotel but one extra hour on the weekends at least ti enjoy that beautiful space would be ideal. Also, when you walk at night you still see a lot of dirty cups left behind, especially around the pool decks and most of all ok what seems to be an “abandoned area” called “plurge” pools. Beautiful area like everything on the hotel but both pools there were extremely dirty, not just leaves but plastic cups and even a SHEIN bathing suit protector, that was disgusting.

Writing a lengthy review since we struggled to commit to this property as it appears a little niche. We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed it for the most part. The condition, cleanliness and style of the property are all excellent. UME was very good and some of the best sushi I've had. Yoga was great, gym facilities limited yet workable but no constant cleaning like other 5* we've stayed. The food was the single best thing and all credit to the kitchen staff for the constantly high level especially since the non-vegans would request many off-menu items or tweaks etc. Bar staff deserve a nod for their attentiveness on the few occasions we were there and the NYE was a credit to all involved, most enjoyable and well ran. On a general view point the service was patchy for this rating and price point... from missing towels, forgotten waters to multiple wrong orders, mainly in the main restaurant. The staff are super nice, friendly & helpful but could do with a few extra staff members and more training as do the middle manager we encountered who had no idea how to escalate and deal with issues when they occur. There are the tiresome sun-bed games, again a surprise for this level of hotel but we just located ourselves in the less attractive areas to avoid silly hogging that many others do.

The hotel was super clean, with a beautiful beach and fantastic location. Most of the staff were very friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. The only downside was when my husband cut his foot—we asked for alcohol and a bandage but were told they only had small bandages. It would be helpful for an all-inclusive hotel, especially one far from pharmacies, to have a basic first aid kit. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended!

Second time here.. first time in may 2023. Fantastic. Clean property that combines jungle and ocean front rooms in spectacular views. Very friendly staff. Very calming setting and set ip to be that way. If you are a cruise person who likes to trip over by people and having people right and left, this is not for you. If you like quietness, serenity, and nature, this is the spot for you. Food? Yes it is vegan resort. I am mostly carnivore and came back here as the quality is really good. You have three main restaurants that re open, Su Casa, Ume, and Lek. The Mar De Olive that is advertised online on the website is closed but you can get some of its menu out of Su Casa. In addition to the above, there is a Taco truck that has been also closed (can get its food from Su Casa) and a Cafe (Plantis) Out of the above, for dinner, Ume is ghe best. It is Japanese fusion Second is Su Casa, which has great food and nice views as it is ocean front and open for breakfast and lunch. Open for dinner too but see note below. Third is Lek which is ok. Note: Dinner used to rotate where u have two options a night, now only one place a night open for dinner. While this can be a bit annoying, still didn’t affect the overall experience and we didn’t feel that the food was redundant. Childcare: available at the kids club they have and very nice. Available for three ans above to be left there and potty trained. Otherwise, you have to clarify with them as this changes. Spa: amazing and a must.

We had an amazing stay. Everything was perfect. Beautiful room. Beautiful amenities. Incredible food, including vegan and non-vegan. Great cocktails and mocktails, all included in the price of the stay. We can't wait to come back and will probably bring our kids next time. Special mention to Reyes at Charlie's Vegan Taco Truck and Danny at the beach bar.

Shower with cold water. We figured out the second day that you need to let the water running for 15-20 minutes until you get hot water. They kept replenish only 3 towels for 4 people even when we told them repeatedly it's not enough. The food is subpar and the non vegan options are really poor in selection and quality. The door to the balcony was extremely heavy. It was impossible for my daughter (she's 12) to open it by herself. And it keeps on and on. We paid over $1000 a night for a suite and it was extremely disappointing for us.

This was my second time at Palmaïa. It’s peaceful, wellness-focused, and full of positive energy. There was a small room mix-up, but the staff fixed it. Everyone is warm and thoughtful. I’m picky with food, and LEK was my favorite this time, unique and healthy. The birthday cake wasn’t great, but the coconut water in the room was amazing! I also love the Kuxtal cocktail, it’s vibrant and full of flavor. We didn’t make it to any activities as we mostly slept and rested, which was exactly what we needed. I did attend a Palmaïa meditation concert in NYC once, and as someone who never meditated before, I felt deeply calm and relaxed after it. Assuming some of the activities should be similar. The spa was great—I did the Prehispanic Ritual, and my friend had a scalp massage. Both were wonderful. The resort is surrounded by nature. We saw monkeys, raccoons, iguanas, and beautiful plants. The rooms are dark and the beds super comfy which is great for a light sleeper like me. Palmaïa is my favorite all-inclusive resort so far.

Very nice property overall. Amazing beach and resort grounds, great food - although limited selection. Very nice staff. Our stay would have been perfect if the service was a little bit better and more consistent. For the price of the property, a higher level of service and communication is expected. Mainly inconsistent room service and food service - long wait times for food, wrong time estimates, incorrect orders, gap between menu description and actual food. We had a family room in the family building - sound proofing on the beach side is great however the hallway door is not good and can be loud with staff or families walking past.

Union arrival the receptionist lied about giving me an upgrade. I got exactly what I paid for. Then said; once confronted, the upgrade was to the adults only building. King suite Ocean front, in a family building? Lie. Once I got to my room the view was obstructed by the roof of a restaurant. Since the hotel was completely empty I asked if they could move me to another room with a better view. She then lied again and said that all the rooms in my category were booked out. I went online and saw that there were 7 rooms available on Expedia alone, same room and same days booked! Sent it to them, they then changed my room after another lie saying that the other room wasn’t ready and that I could take a look at it, I might look clean but it’s not. I would have to have my bags brought to reception and stored. That never happened because the room was clean. And the only thing I could think was why didn’t you want to change the room if the whole entire hotel is empty and why cause so much unnecessary chaos if this is a wellness retreat? The mini bar was Not fully stocked. There was only a couple mixed bottled drinks. No beer, wine or spirits. Only Cenote worth seeing is inside of the spa which is an additional charge. Upon leaving the taxi tried to charge $100usd for a ride to Tulum. Been 10 times. I booked my own car and they wouldn’t let him in! Once I said that I was writing a review, she followed me to give a code to let him in. He already left. She then offered a cheaper taxi.

We were looking for a resort to disconnect, relax and recharge, and we found all those things at Palmaia They exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing, made to order, no buffet. Day and night room service included. The ocean view room did not disappoint. Top notch staff! Highly recommend.

Was a little hesitant to book as I am not a wellness / inward centred person...just wanted a luxe hotel on a gorgeous beach! At least in off season (mid Sept), I saw little evidence of this being a targetted wellness resort. There were classes held somewhere...I never saw them. Alcohol was offered on all menus (usually without prices but presumably not included in this all inclusive resort?) The food was truly amazing and healthy, saw a bit of seafood on menu, not too much red meat. Rooms and pools and the pool bar gorgeous design. I tried to go for a walk in the jungle but this doesnt seem to go anywhere...that would have been a nice feature but otherwise I cant really fault. Would stay again ...which is rare for me, I always like to try new places.

Easy for both adults only as well as families with separate building to allow quiet space. I can’t wait to return!

This is our 2nd time visiting Palmaia and it was just as magical as the first visit 3 years ago. Everything about our stay was amazing. The rituals that we attended were Yoga, Cacao ceremony, Fermentation class (bread making), and watercolor painting. We highly recommend these activities. Shout out to Mauricio! He has a lot of knowledge regarding fermentation and cooking. We also booked a spa service at Atlantis and it was relaxing and rejuvinating. We were surpised by monkeys outside of the spa waiting area, which added a wonderful surpise to the peacefulness of the space. Every meal was delcious and was matched by top notch service. Special shout out to our waiters Luis and Alejandro. Ismael at Eolo was also great! We loved hanging out at the bar in the evening next to the fire and listening to music. The entire crew including our nomad guides (Karen and Andres) were extremely gracious, kind, and accomodating. Thank you for taking great care of us! We loved every minute of our visit.

The property is very nice and overall we had a good one week stay. The beach is great, food is overall good and the staff were mostly great, especially the guy at the taco truck! However, there were just a few things that didn’t make it worth five stars and I’m not sure we’d return. The beach service was hit and miss. In the end we worked out if we sat in the area in front of Su Casa the guy there was excellent, anywhere else and it was terrible. Unfortunately my wife and I both got food poisoning after dining at Su Casa for lunch, not sure what it was but it definitely put a handbrake on the holiday for a day and a half. Our kids managed to avoid it thankfully. The last two nights of our stay, one of the restaurants was closed for a private event. One restaurant closed every night on top of that, meaning we only had two options (one being the breakfast /lunch/dinner option) for our last two nights which is unacceptable. Lastly and this is small. We booked the VIP car service to the airport and a staff member hitched a ride in the front seat. What made it weird was the lack of communication that this was happening.

The mini bar was Not fully stocked. There was only a couple mixed bottled drinks. No beer, wine or spirits. Only Cenote worth seeing is inside of the spa which is an additional charge. Upon leaving the taxi tried to charge $100usd for a ride to Tulum. Been 10 times. I booked my own car and they wouldn’t let him in! Once I said that I was writing a review, she followed me to give a code to let him in. He already left. She then offered a cheaper taxi.

It's such a gift to be able to visit Palmaia for the second time. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful. The food is hit or miss, but it's so nice there, you won't care that much. I still managed to gain 4lbs so I clearly ate pretty well! The servers and bartenders are knowledgeable and attentive. The spa is beautiful and the therapists there are amazing. There are a variety of daily activities. The nomadic guides, Kasandra and Esteban, are gems!

Everything was fantastic. The property is gorgeous. Safe. Walkable. Quiet. Peaceful. The staff was great. Very attentive. Food was delicious. My one hiccup - the night time nomadic concierge was often very late in responding to requests. 20 minutes late one time. 2 hours later another time. The day time nomadic concierge was superb and responsive immediately. Night time not so much. Thank you.

This was our second visit to palmaia this year. From the moment one arrives at this enclave you are greated by a friendly staff member, Oscar if you are lucky. Food is top notch as well as the drink selection. Most meals can have various meats added as an option as well as everything prepared to your vegan/vegetarian needs or dietary restrictions. Staff is exceptional all around with too many to list. Entertainment has improved for longer dj hours, or maybe there were just more people this visit. As for prior comments regarding children, and statements I overheard at the resort: For example, Its simply rude to expect staff members to know what a "babychino" is and get all fussy about it. Just tell them some frothed milk and move on, don\'t be ignorant. This is a wellness retreat and markets itself as such, not magic kingdom. As for activities the rituals deck sessions were always a must as well as spidermonkey spotting from the greenhouse to the spa. Beach is incredible because of shallow sandbar and is my preference considering the pools are unheated. We look forward to returning and seeing you once again in March.

The hotel was super clean, with a beautiful beach and fantastic location. Most of the staff were very friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. The only downside was when my husband cut his foot—we asked for alcohol and a bandage but were told they only had small bandages. It would be helpful for an all-inclusive hotel, especially one far from pharmacies, to have a basic first aid kit. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended!

One of the best, rejuvenating, and amazing solo trips I have ever taken. The property itself is a great combination of luxury and comfort. It feels like you have been transported into this magical jungle beach ! There is plenty of activity’s to do throughout the day, for those who want to be more active and do more classes. Or you can just lounge by the beach or venture through the amazing property and have no plans . The food was amazing! Every meal was thought out, with also great mocktails or cocktails. Then the staff! This is probably what will make you want to never leave . They are the best! They make you feel so comfortable, and genuinely want to make your stay there great. I can keep going on about this place, but it’s amazing. Also, while I was there I met people who had been there 3 times plus, which is always a great sign. You will have the best time, no matter what type of trip your looking for here!!

What an amazing property! Very exclusive, brand new and isolated from the crowded Cancun areas. Food is surprisingly good (I’m not a vegan and have to recognize they make it unique with flavors you can’t imagine). Perfect stay. Hope to be back.

I could write a book in all the wonderful things about this resort. I’ll keep it simple. Service is over the top excellent, everywhere. The room was fantastic; a variety of pillows and the mattress was great. We mostly ate at Su Casa and Charley’s taco truck. My husband is a huge carnivore and even he found things he could eat and enjoyed. I felt so good eating clean all week. Our margaritas were all made with quality tequila and fresh juices. The bear bar at night was so relaxing but also entertaining. DJ one night and Sax player the next. We ordered grass fed burgers in the room one night. Beach is gorgeous! I’d give them 10 stars if I could and we will return for sure. Keep your eyes open for the wildlife, iguanas, coatis and spider monkeys!!

Very nice property overall. Amazing beach and resort grounds, great food - although limited selection. Very nice staff. Our stay would have been perfect if the service was a little bit better and more consistent. For the price of the property, a higher level of service and communication is expected. Mainly inconsistent room service and food service - long wait times for food, wrong time estimates, incorrect orders, gap between menu description and actual food. We had a family room in the family building - sound proofing on the beach side is great however the hallway door is not good and can be loud with staff or families walking past.

The property is very nice and overall we had a good one week stay. The beach is great, food is overall good and the staff were mostly great, especially the guy at the taco truck! However, there were just a few things that didn’t make it worth five stars and I’m not sure we’d return. The beach service was hit and miss. In the end we worked out if we sat in the area in front of Su Casa the guy there was excellent, anywhere else and it was terrible. Unfortunately my wife and I both got food poisoning after dining at Su Casa for lunch, not sure what it was but it definitely put a handbrake on the holiday for a day and a half. Our kids managed to avoid it thankfully. The last two nights of our stay, one of the restaurants was closed for a private event. One restaurant closed every night on top of that, meaning we only had two options (one being the breakfast /lunch/dinner option) for our last two nights which is unacceptable. Lastly and this is small. We booked the VIP car service to the airport and a staff member hitched a ride in the front seat. What made it weird was the lack of communication that this was happening.

Very calming setting and set ip to be that way. If you are a cruise person who likes to trip over by people and having people right and left, this is not for you. If you like quietness, serenity, and nature, this is the spot for you. Food? Yes it is vegan resort. I am mostly carnivore and came back here as the quality is really good. You have three main restaurants that re open, Su Casa, Ume, and Lek. The Mar De Olive that is advertised online on the website is closed but you can get some of its menu out of Su Casa. In addition to the above, there is a Taco truck that has been also closed (can get its food from Su Casa) and a Cafe (Plantis) Out of the above, for dinner, Ume is ghe best. It is Japanese fusion Second is Su Casa, which has great food and nice views as it is ocean front and open for breakfast and lunch. Open for dinner too but see note below. Third is Lek which is ok. Note: Dinner used to rotate where u have two options a night, now only one place a night open for dinner. While this can be a bit annoying, still didn’t affect the overall experience and we didn’t feel that the food was redundant. Childcare: available at the kids club they have and very nice. Available for three ans above to be left there and potty trained. Otherwise, you have to clarify with them as this changes. Spa: amazing and a must.

Wij vonden het een mooi hotel met mooie kamers en en prachtig strand. Mooie spa en mooi in de natuur. Waarom wij geen 5 sterren geven is dat wij ervaren dat er maar 1 restaurant per dag open was met een hele kleine kaart en wij niet vegan zijn en de vlees/vis opties erg beperkt waren en niet altijd even lekker. Wij hadden het idee dat het door het laagseizoen nogal uitgekleed was..

Palmaia never disappoints; it is quite like paradise in every way imaginable. The property itself is stunning, as are the accommodations. Every room faces the beach, and you can hear the tide even with the sliding door to your room closed. The rooms are immaculate and contribute to the Zen quality of the resort. The food is absolutely delicious. We have stayed here now four times, and the quality of the food is unwavering. Alas, we do have one complaint, which is they now include animal options for those who are not plant-based. But we believe this is so the owner can remain solvent, so it is a price we are willing to pay to sustain this beautiful place. The rituals, classes, and spa treatments, and the incredible people who take care of you doing your stay are the icing on the cake. If you are considering, do it! It is well worth it!
Palmaia never disappoints; it is quite like paradise in every way imaginable. The property itself is stunning, as are the accommodations. Every room faces the beach, and you can hear the tide even with the sliding door to your room closed. The rooms are immaculate and contribute to the Zen quality of the resort. The food is absolutely delicious. We have stayed here now four times, and the quality of the food is unwavering. Alas, we do have one complaint, which is they now include animal options for those who are not plant-based. But we believe this is so the owner can remain solvent, so it is a price we are willing to pay to sustain this beautiful place. The rituals, classes, and spa treatments, and the incredible people who take care of you doing your stay are the icing on the cake. If you are considering, do it! It is well worth it!
