Loved the quick and easy self checkin. No waiting in lines at all. First experience with a hotel that has no front desk and all check in was done by text but it was very convenient. The only draw back is that there is no onsite parking. We found a lot 500m away that allows 24 hour parking for a flat rate and it was a great chance to explore Tue area by foot.

Loved this stay. Only cons would be that there’s no elevator and that the parking just outside the hotel was VERY expensive. But other than that, it was a really great hotel!

A charming boutique hotel with a lovely staff in a great location. People should know there is no elevator ( tho the staff was very helpful with our suitcases). Some design flaws in our room: you have to walk thru the shower to get to the toilet (potentially slippery ), overhead nightlights high up and hard to reach the switch, interior steps in the room that require attentive walking. No closet or drawer space. One side of the bed (very comfortable otherwise) against the wall. Overall chic, welcoming, but some impractical features in the rooms.

This is not your run-of-the-mill hotel stay. This place is a converted warehouse over top of a classy wine bar by night and coffee-shop by day. The walls of the rooms and halls are covered in original artwork. There was a record player in our room with some vintage vinyl to play. The shower head was a 'rain shower'. The whole stay was artsy and funky and cool. Staff were just a text away. While it says there isn't parking included, the city parking lot that may look far on a map is less than a one minute walk through the rear alley. So it basically does have parking, and much cheaper than most hotel rates. It is not for anyone with mobility issues because there is no elevator, but if you are spry enough to get your luggage up the stairs, a cool and unique stay awaits you.

Hôtel très bien situé et enregistrement très facile en ligne. Près d’une station de métro et toutes les commodités qu’on peut avoir besoin. Petit café dans le lobby ultra sympathique. Deux petits bémols à considérer: il y a peu de stationnement aux alentours et les chambres n’ont pas de télévision! C’est un iPad avec Netflix lol

I really.love the cool vibe if this hotel So easy toncheck in and out. Staff are great! Love the bar and lounge area, record player and records in room. Lots of space and natural light. Lovely toiletries. The only thing better would be some sort of parking deal closer, more than 2 thin towels in the room, a steamer or iron in the closet, and netter shower ( it was constantly hit and cold and leaked into the bathroom). But we would stay here again in a minute! Location is so great for subway, restaurants, etc

This is a friendly, affordable, and unique option in Toronto. The check-in is smooth and efficient, the cafe is delightful for breakfast in the morning, and the bar and restaurants have a surprising range of terrific options. Not a terrible stay, but not great. The aesthetic is simple loft living, but the owner's seem to have used that as an excise to allow for genuine dilapidation: mold in the shower grout, peeling paint, the ceiling sagging. Also, the AC system was so loud and inconsistent that it switched to "auto" despite being set for "always on" and woke me up several timea throughout the night as it struggled to turn back on (I'm not a light sleeper).

The staff were incredible, the location was great and the concept of the hotel was amazing. We loved the cafe just steps away from our room. The only thing that could be improved is the cleanliness of the shower.

Lots of broken things in my room - the iPad, ceiling bulb, tile in bathroom + the wall was really dirty near the bed. Stylish, great location but felt like a hostel that didn’t get the upkeep it needs.

Non ti puliscono la stanza a meno che non paghi extra. Non c’è l’ascensore. La stanza è tenuta male con i muri rovinati. Non c’è la macchina del caffè. La stanza è rumorosa, si sentono i vicini che fanno rumore. Unica nota positiva, il letto è comodo!

All around excellent hotel option. Great location and amenities, lobby, free coffee in the morning is ah-plus, clean & tidy rooms. The only shortcoming was that the tiled shower needs a deep, thorough cleaning as the floor & lower part of the wall was getting black with mildew. All and all I recommend.

Love the Annex Hotel. They need to do a deep cleaning of the bathroom/shower tiling. It would also be amazing if there could be designated parking spots in the Lippencot Green P for hotel guests.

Great staff saved it from a lower rating. They were awesome and appreciated their help, but would not stay here again. I feel like it was a cheaply done "cool" remodel that has not been maintained and is in need of a refresh. It felt dingy and everything was a little worn or off. My toilet was not cleaned, like brown splatters kinda not clean, and they immediately moved me and handled it well, but still - doesn't give you a good feeling. Also, maybe they put me in the worst room, but there was a water bubble and hole in the ceiling, a broken blind, stains all on the wall, all the artwork frames were bent or broken, and general griminess that I don't want. Despite good staff, wont ever go back.

I had no hot water and no kleenex on a chilly November night. Cleanliness of the bathroom tile grout wasn't the cleaniest. Bed was large and comfortable, and for a "small room" I found it was spacious for the most part. Complimentary breakfast was great. Quality coffee and ingredients.

It was difficult to crawl over the bed to get in and out due to lack of space around the bed. Reading lights inaccessible from the bed to shut off. No place to put a suitcase except on the floor. The hanging closet is behind the door and one cannot open the closet door completely due to the door stop being in the way. The large empty space in the middle of the room could be put to better use to address these issues. The hotel is quiet, clean and within easy walking distance of our events. Front desk staff were accommodating to our lack of technology expertise for checkin and out.

Experience was immaculate! Bed was so comfortable and IPad and record player were very nice additions to the room. The bathroom layout was interesting with the toilet and bathtub being in one area and the sink in another, but overall it was very nice!

I stayed in room 208. The noise from the room above me went on for a couple of hours on my first morning. I had just flown in and would have liked to have slept in especially with a 3 hour time zone change for me. I figured it's not the norm for most to sleep in so I learned to appreciate the loud (but nice and cool a/c fan) to drown out the dragging of chairs and stomping or dropping. But then on the second evening, the noise was there again around midnight when I had to get up to catch a plane in the morning. Other than the noise from above, super comfy bed and very clean! Better than expected for an old refurbished character building. I'd stay again, but I'd ask for a top floor unit.

Overall it's a great area to stay in that's more "local" you can tell whoever runs the property puts a lot of effort into it and comes across as cool (not like Drake pretentious cool - sorry / not sorry Drake hotel) but more down low vibe. My only one deal break that affected my sleep was a really loud inconsistent HVAC that you could shut off yourself (making it colder would make it colder and turning up the temp would turn on the heat) thus comfort was an issue and my primary judge of a property is sleep. I've never experience that loud of a single stage in room system before. Staff was very friendly and just shut it off in my room for the following night and slept 10x better but at an average room temp of 24c -- was a little warm but manageable. Easy fix, make sure your thermostat is programmable that the occupier can shut off the system themselves.

The system they have where you contact Reception through WhatsApp doesn't seem to be reliable, try and get the direct number to text/call. The young woman at reception was very apologetic and tried to take good care of me. I like the idea of a record player in the room but mine didn't work. There is no TV. The room was lovely and quiet but did look straight into someone's kitchen next door. The area is kind of student-y with Uni of Toronto very close. Walking distance to the subway and the Royal Ontario Museum.

The property and staff were fantastic. The only issue was a rather bad leak from the rain in our room. It was addressed the first day, but I unfortunately continued to leak the remaining days. Not the worst thing, but we did have to keep a trash can in front of the bathroom door so slightly inconvenient.

We had a great stay at the Annex overall. The only issues were a bit of confusion with the door entry code (we were sent the wrong code at check in) that got sorted out very quickly, and concern regarding the left luggage. We arrived before check in as our train was early and was advised we could leave our luggage at the hotel for the day. We had a great stay at the Annex overall. The only issues were a bit of confusion with the door entry code (we were sent the wrong code at check in) that got sorted out very quickly, and concern regarding the left luggage. We arrived before check in as our train was early and was advised we could leave our luggage at the hotel for the day. I was wondering what rating to give because we experienced a service failure. I gave the excellent rating despite that because the front office staff were exceptional. That was seen during the check in where the front desk person was extremely friendly and also helpful in arranging parking. And it was also clear when we brought a noise issue to their notice. Even at 5 Star hotels, despite excellent facilities one often ends up disappointed with the way employees respond to critical incidents. Here, they were exceptionally good, in my experience.

They do not want to "loose" time to explain how their lack of reception works and they avoid to make the customer safe about the usage of the credit card. They ask for credit ask details in spite of Expedia recommendations not to share cards details since they already have forwarded anything the hotel needs. More the fact they refuse any contact before the day of the room booking add a sense of uncertainty due to the possibility that a mobile phone changing country might have delay in working properly.

This is not your run-of-the-mill hotel stay. This place is a converted warehouse over top of a classy wine bar by night and coffee-shop by day. The walls of the rooms and halls are covered in original artwork. There was a record player in our room with some vintage vinyl to play. The shower head was a 'rain shower'. The whole stay was artsy and funky and cool. Staff were just a text away. While it says there isn't parking included, the city parking lot that may look far on a map is less than a one minute walk through the rear alley. So it basically does have parking, and much cheaper than most hotel rates. It is not for anyone with mobility issues because there is no elevator, but if you are spry enough to get your luggage up the stairs, a cool and unique stay awaits you.

When I came, the people at the front desk were very helpful. Somebody offered to bring one of my bags up to my room. And then when I went to my room, unfortunately the sink was clogged and somebody came right away to fix it and my room ended up being really great!

Enjoyed the vibe of the area. The hotel has a great location close to transit and subways. Felt very safe in the area, and it was very quiet... we stayed from Sat to Wed. Great restaurant choices. We were able to walk around the neighborhoods towards the university. Our room was just right, does have a tv, but it's really not needed. No trouble with check in and out. The only drawback is that there is no elevator and the AC broke down during a very hot weather. They did fix it as quickly as possible. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is well located near many cafes and cute bookstores. The staff are friendly and answer to your needs quickly. The beds are very comfortable! I do recommend staying on the upper level if you want it to be more quiet.

Perfect stay at The Annex, everyone was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Checked in online so I had a code for the door and it was all super easy, even though there was a reception and someone was there to help if needed. Bed was really comfortable, which after a long flight was very welcome. Lovely neighbourhood and great cafe/bar downstairs. 3 minute walk to the metro, but a world away from downtown

A very cool place to stay with great vibe. Numerous restaurants around and on the edge of Toronto’s famous Bloor St. Room was well fitted and far from conventional - perfect for solo travelling as well as couples - staff very helpful. Definitely stay again.

Trendy neighborhood with lots of local shops and restaurants. Property staff were very pleasant and inviting. Room also very stylish, comfortable bed and cold air conditioning. Close to metro station and easy to get around Toronto and points of interest.

Loved the hotel overall very cute but a few hiccups along the way. I travelled for work and considering the lobby is closed until 8, nespresso in the room would be great. Loved the toiletries nice touch. Bar man was super great. Had not noticed there was no elevator when I booked. My back is not great and had someone offered to help with my bags, it would have been appreciated, can’t go wrong to ask. The resto could use more food options aside from pizza. The neighbourhood has many pizza options already. Maybe ramen or a couple easy salads. Or a few ready made meal options. There is so little food available it would at least be nice to be able to order and eat downstairs with your colleagues, we didn’t feel like going out and asked, unfortunately was not possible and we had pizza night prior. . It was nice to see trees from my room, a little greenery goes a long way. Finally, I did have a pretty serious incident occur which I won’t get into here. The manager reached out to me and was very professional. That being said, I was not offered anywhere near the appropriate level of compensation for the disruption or trouble caused -not by a guest, but by the hotel, impacting my trust in the establishment as well as my sense of safety and security and that of guests. Im still left dumbfounded by the situation and the steps that were taken to compensate me. I feel this hotel could be great, simply missing a few key details.

The Annex is a trendy & quiet place, with easy access from Union! We loved the unique artwork and design of the room. Also the HUGE windows and all of the light! There were so many great restaurants and cafés to choose from as well as bars and music. We wnjoyed the coffee and breakfast in the cafe in the morning, and the staff were very kind. Highly recommend! We will be staying again.

Overall it was a good stay. The bed was comfortable. However I was a bit disappointed that the wine bar is closed down. Also the free breakfast isn’t available till 8 am.

We came for an overnight visit to see a concert and found it very easy to check-in and check-out. Everyone was very nice and the hotel was easy to get in touch with. I was a little confused about breakfast as they said complimentary but after ordering, it was specified what was and wasn’t included and I ended up paying extra. Otherwise, great hotel.

The issue we had with the property is that the AC was louder than a truck, and there was a light in the parking lot that was on all night shining into our room, the blinds did not block it out. There was a loud Party on the Saturday night (TIFF I assume, I get it ). For a room with very few amenities (no tv) it was discouraging. Staff were helpful.
