Stayed here to run the Steamtown Marathon. Location was perfect for the race. The on-site parking was very convenient and safe. The hotel is gorgeous. Seeing the old pieces of the train station was very cool. Room was a little dated but clean and comfortable and was everything I needed. Hotel was quiet too. A great place to stay in Scranton. Very walkable to downtown. Would recommend to others visiting the area!

Lackawanna Station is our favorite hotel between NY and Pittsburgh when we go to Steelers games. I noticed the grime covered grates last year but this year the top and bottom of the stained glass was filthy, the roof and ceiling grates were unhealthy with their grit and grime and none of the draft taps were working in the bar.

They never told us about the 5.65 charge on my card for parking in their parking lot. I find that very unsatisfied. Never have ive been charged a fee for parkung in a Hotel parking lot. Last time i will be staying there.

Staff at check-in was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Unique hotel transformed from being a train station. Only one drawback- no ramp to move luggage into hotel- only steps which created a little challenge. Food was good in the bar restaurant as well.

Loved the old train station! The convenience of the two restaurants in the lobby was great after a long day at Poconos raceway. Food was great in both. The room was clean, hotel was clean. Staff was courteous and friendly. Cons- only one elevator was working, not too bad, never had to take the stairs. Our TV’s cable wire was bent to a point of half the channels coming in bad. Again, not a huge deal, we didn’t watch much. Overall 5 stars. Will stay again when we visit the area.

Love how they converted the old train station into a hotel. Didn’t like that the room felt overly used and worn. The wood work was chipped and worm. Even the throw blanket look stained.

Bathroom faucet had a continues leak that you could turn off and you could hear it even with the door shut. Wallpaper above shower was pealing and there was mold everywhere. Not what i expected when paying that much for a room.

While the building is gorgeous, it was the most uncomfortable hotel I have ever stayed in. No ventilation made the room smell incredibly musty. The bed and pillows were so hard that I tossed and turned all night resulting in a sore neck and raging headache. We decided to cut our stay a day early and when we went to check out the clerk who initially gave us the wrong room number the day before only said "Okay" when we told him we couldn't stay another night with them.

The walls were very, very thin. Like the people in the next room sound they are in the same room. The room smelled sometimes of sewage. I think this is due in part to the fact that there are no bathroom fans. Also the water in the sink and shower are yellow. We went out and bought some room spray and ear plugs which helped. The shower curtain is on a rounded pole that dips in the middle so no matter what, water gets on the floor and walls of the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was great.

The property is beautiful and the staff is friendly, but definitely not for everyone.the rooms are small, specially the bathrooms, and there a little outdated and run down. With that being said, thats part of the charm of the location as it is an old converted train station, but if you want an updated super clean hotel experience than your better off at the hilton conference center down the road. I prefer the charm of the radisson, altough the 32 inch NOT smart tv needs to go and some new technology needs to be added to go along with the charm of thr location.

The climate control was on the mark. Teresa the 2nd Floor housekeeper was absolutely fantastic. You do have a serious problem with your television service. The tv was small and not easy to find channels or programs. Very bad.

I was expecting a much better experience for that price. The check in was long, the room (607) was tiny, claustrophobic, no fresh air, hair in the shower and on the towels. The air conditioner was so loud we couldn't sleep and eventually checked out at 6am.

This is a beautiful building with an excellent staff. The one drawback is the air handling system is very loud and the walls are thin enough to hear your neighbors listening to their TV. Not loud enough to catch the words, but you can definitely hear that the set is on.

I recently stayed at The Scranton Radisson, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was for its advertised Wi-Fi service, which I needed for work. However, during my stay, the Wi-Fi was completely down (This information was not disclosed to me at check-in) and I needed to check-out and work from a local Starbucks all day. What’s even more disappointing is how the staff handled the situation. I spoke to the hotel operations manager - she refused to offer any future stay compensation or reimbursement for the inconvenience. This lack of accountability and customer service left a very negative impression. While other aspects of the hotel might be fine, their unwillingness to address such a significant issue has made me question their commitment to guest satisfaction. I am also very familiar within the hotel industry, as my boyfriend is a regional manager for three major hotels in New York City. A very simple monetary gesture/future stay compensation could have been made to rectify the situation and leave me writing a positive review rather than a negative one. I would not recommend this hotel if reliable Wi-Fi and responsive customer service are important to you.

We chose this hotel as a convention site while visiting the Steamtown site. The access to convention meeting rooms was the worst since our organization was founded 60 years ago. We could not set up displays after we all booked our rooms. When we set up displays the management locked members out of the display and meeting rooms. Staff members doing food service were great but that couldn't cover for the failed attitude for management of convention space. This is not the way to treat historical societies who visit Steamtown ... The failure of convention support will spread to other historical societies as many of us hold additional memberships in groups that would be your customers. You need to change convention management to properly host historical society meetings in the future... If ever!

Superb hotel downtown Scranton. Parking $5per day which is a bit off. Beautiful lobby and resturant in converted railway station and railway head office. Nice rooms but was striking was how friendly all the staff were. Reception, bar,room cleaners. Really welcoming.

One of the most beautiful and unique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The inside is marble, with Tiffany glass ceilings. Staff were consistently friendly and pleasant. Would absolutely stay again.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. Theresa and Jay in housekeeping, Diana at the front desk, and George, the doorman, greeted us with smiles and were eager to help us with everything we needed. The room was perfect.

Wonderful and unique place! The only problem is that they appear to be rather short-staffed, so everything from checking in to dinner involved a much longer wait than usual.

Stayed here to run the Steamtown Marathon. Location was perfect for the race. The on-site parking was very convenient and safe. The hotel is gorgeous. Seeing the old pieces of the train station was very cool. Room was a little dated but clean and comfortable and was everything I needed. Hotel was quiet too. A great place to stay in Scranton. Very walkable to downtown. Would recommend to others visiting the area!

The hotel itself is unique and beautiful. The staff was very helpful. The downfall is the parking lot is often very full and it’s in dire need of repair. Also, there was a bar across the street that was extremely loud with music and people out in the street until well after 1:00 am. If I stayed again, I would ask to be in the back of the building to avoid the noise.

Special historic place that made an overnight well worth the stay. Price was fair and rooms clean and comfortable. Incredibly flexible and kind bar staff. Lobby is beautiful with lots of comfortable seating. Only complaint is food was expensive in both restaurants. Will come back to explore area but felt uncomfortable walking around at night.

The Lackawanna Station hotel is beautiful, hailing from the same era as Grand Central Station in NYC. Room prices are very reasonable. Rooms are large. City views are great. Bathrooms could be updated, but are clean, well supplied and totally acceptable, unless you’re very picky. Expect services to be a little slow, but still a very good overall value, in a marvelous historic building.

This is a beautiful and grand building. The location is great for walking into downtown Scranton. It has been beautifully preserved and has a luxurious feel but without the costs.

The building is unique and elegant, inside and out. Plenty of places to eat and shop. Next door to University of Scranton. Half hour to Mohegan Sun Casino and horse racing. 20 minutes to Montage Mountain. NY Yankees farm team stadium is in Montage Mountain.

Lovely historic building with modern updated comfy rooms, it’s the best of both worlds. The food at Trax is very good and Maria’s a great, attentive bartender. Easy to get to from the Highway and convenient to all points of interest. Five stars!

Internet strong but not secure. Only restaurant Traxs is so so. Since the hotel was an old train station it is huge . Lobby enormous and dark . Room is very clean.

The Radisson Lackawanna has amazing front desk and bar service - very accommodating, quick, and welcoming. The space itself is full of history and charm. The location is convenient. The only downside was our service at the restaurant- the food was mediocre, our server was kind but clearly had no idea what she was doing which led to slow and confusing service, incomplete orders, and wrongly made coffees. Small price to pay for a cool, historic hotel with a good restaurant across the street.

I was waiting this moment to complain to someone about the coffee we just ordered today at the coffee shop. We got a cappuccino and an americano, but unfortunately, they didn't taste right. It was like hot water with barely any coffee flavor, and the color was almost off. We ended up throwing them away. We were really looking forward to a good cup of coffee, especially since we're staying at the hotel an we paid for our drinks. Check with your suppliers what coffee are you buying or probably you do not how to use the coffee machine at the coffee shop.

I liked the old train station feel! Nice hotel. Room as nice, but the mattress was lumpy and I fell into a nice divot. They could update these. Food in the bar was less than expected. Was told the breakfast cook was the lunch cook....you could tell! Not good. Drinks were just OK. When I asked for just a little ice I got half a glass! Gin and tonic...used flat tonic water. Nice place, just not worth the amount I spent for 2 nights.

Somewhat disappointed with Carmen’s very limited menu. Very few people in the dining room. This is an extraordinary setting and we have wonderful memories of stays at the hotel and dinners here in the past. We learned that the amazing Sunday brunch is no longer offered. We hope management can bring this wonderful venue back to it’s glorious past.

My husband and I travelled over from Scotland to visit our daughter who was working in a summer camp about 40 min drive from the hotel. We wanted somewhere that was within easy reach of restaurants, shops and close enough to take our daughter back to camp the following evening. Our daughter stayed for 1 night, we stayed for 2 nights. (3rd-5th August) Check in was easy and staff were very helpful. We booked 2 separate rooms. (Both king rooms) Both rooms were extremely clean and spacious. The rooms had everything we needed, Large fridge, safe, coffee machine, water, hairdryer and a lovely powerful shower. The beds were extremely comfortable. Large windows. We overlooked the university playing field. There are blackout blinds to ensure a good night sleep. We ate outside of the hotel in the evenings so can’t comment on the evening meals. We did sit in the bar area (trax) on the first night. Again staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous. On the day my husband and I checked out, we had a coffee and a croissant in the station cafe. Waiter was very helpful. This is a beautiful hotel with lots of original features. We have never visited Scranton or anywhere in Pennsylvania before however I hope someday that we have a reason to visit again as we would not hesitate to stay in this hotel.
