The room was clean and comfortable.. and an excellent price. The restaurant was closed due to the chef being ill, but there was a fantastic Chippy next door that had everything including pizza and kebabs.. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Restaurant and lounge bar were closed due to not having a chef. If we had been advised we would not have stayed there. When away for a few days break it is nice to relax and enjoy a glass of something along with your evening meal in the hotel and not having to drive to a restaurant. The limited staff were all friendly, but definitely got the impression that the hotel was operating on a shoe string with a lack of attention to detail. We have stayed there several times in the past and therefore very disappointed especially with not being advised in advance about the lack of facilities.

I booked this hotel for one of our engineers as it stated on Hotels.com that breakfast was included and that there were restaurant facilities - it quite clearly states Mackenzies open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Our engineer got there expecting a hot meal after a long day on site - and was told that the restaurant at the hotel hadn't been open for weeks!!! They were still doing breakfasts though. If it said that on the website I wouldn't have booked him in there !!! Very misleading.

Great location, spacious comfortable cleanrooms, large bathroom,comfy bed. Great breakfast and the hotel is next to a restaraunt,bar and fish and chip shop. Easy hotel to find, good parking.

Great value stay. Room very clean, bright and warm. Bathroom looked newly fitted. Shower water pressure not the best. Bed firm and comfortable. Hotel in quiet residential area. Receptionist was very friendly, chatty and down to earth! Breakfast was help yourself to cereals, yoghurt, fruit, fruit juice, tea, coffee and toast. You can order a cooked breakfast at your table. Large car park, but remember to register at reception on check in. Key card required to enter bedroom areas. Hotel has a bar and restaurant but we didn't use them.

Good sized room, clean and had everything needed. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Well situated for local pubs and restaurants. There was occasional noise a couple of time late into the evening and early morning from the building behind but generally quiet. Easy parking.

We booked an accessible 1st floor room but the hotel had no lift and there were 19 steps up to the 1st floor. I have trouble with stairs so it took me a long time to get upstairs. I wouldn't class that as accessible!! It did have a walk in shower, which was fine. Also it was a very hot night and the window only opened a little and there was no air conditioning or fan in the room.

There was a wedding event going on during our stay. The hotel placed us in the room directly next to the reception hall. I had a flight to catch the next morning. I was not able to sleep until 3am when the event was over. But even after that, the guests of the event were yelling in the hallways.

It's my understanding this hotel is recently under new ownership. It's obvious they are working diligently to make it better. Room was great. Very clean. Only complaint is the water pressure in the shower. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel appears very worn out. Carpets look unclean. Hand towels only in room. Breakfast service and choice minimal. Very amateur service with the make staff appearing poorly dressed and unshaven. Definitely never stay there again or recommend to any contact.

Be sure to request rooms on an upper floor and at the end of the hall. Our room was on the main floor, at the entrance to the hallway. There was a set of fire doors that banged all morning as guests got up early and left, along with the noise of guests talking right outside of our room as they walked out of the hotel. We could not sleep at all from very early in the morning, starting at 5:30 am.

This hotel was close to where we were attending a function. The room was recently refurbished to a high standard with a well designed en suite and plenty of storage. There was no noise to disrupt our sleep. Breakfast was OK. Friendly staff and no cleanliness issues. We went to the bar next door and the music was fabulous! Probably not a hotel for a weekend break but great for a well priced bed for the night.

This hotel was a good value. My room had a double bed that was decently comfortable. The bathroom had a low flow shower, so it took a couple of minutes for hot water. I was at the back of the hotel, so the wifi was weak, but it was good in the lobby. The hotel had a decent number of guests, but was quiet. The breakfast was good. There were continental options, and then a hot food menu, both included. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and had breakfast there each morning. The price for the stay was very good compared to Edinburgh prices. The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly. The rooms were clean, and it’s a great base for trips to Edinburgh because you can get there by Ember bus for just £4 (December 2025). I definitely recommend it and would stay again if I have the chance.

when we arrived for our 2 night stay no one at reception, choices at breakfast buffet mostly empty both mornings we stayed {and we were not late}, ie basics like butter, milk, juices, bread, fruit, all empty ,we had no order taken for a cooked breakfast ,some people got up and left after waiting to long for their cooked breakfast, tables were not cleaned after use, I have spent lifetime in Catering and they need more staff on at breakfast {only seemed to be 1 young chap}no disrespect to him but need more experienced people on and the reception situation is quite frankly ridiculous, no body around at anytime of day, I stayed there with previous owners and everything was of a decent standard ,the current owners are new to hotel ownership I gather but they certainly need to put more staff on and to put more effort into their customer satisfaction especially breakfast time because if they do not they will struggle to get guests retuning and will not be Hotel owners for very long in my opinion, it was a Scotland Rugby weekend and busy but Im pretty sure none of the guests there that morning will return

The stay at Hill Park Hotel was fantastic. All of the staff were friendly and went the extra mile to inform us on the best places to visit and how to access the local towns. The cleanliness of the rooms were brilliant and were very spacious. The food was excellent, the breakfast had a good variety of options and the food in the evening was great, some of the best food we have had from a restaurant. Would 100% recommend staying there and would stay there again.

Not happy stay at Hill Park hotel . The owner's unfriendly demeanor set the tone for our stay. Staff seemed micromanaged, making it hard to feel at ease. Staff placed 2 couples who were booked on the same booking in 2 different wings of the building then tried to make the excuse that because we had 2 different names that we could not have rooms near each other and our pass cards did not work in each others area, then the person I believed to be the duty manager, accused me of lying to get an extra card, to give to our friends so they could access our wing not our room but our wing, we tried to explain to this extremely arrogant we have been travelling as a group and never experienced anything like this before and she stated it was for security purposes, we went out for dinner and when we returned the door to our wing was chocked open so there goes the security excuse . Due to her artogance we decided not to eat in their restaurant. The included breakfast was okay the view from room 6 was at the back of a small shopping centre which was disgusting and if I was at all worried about security that would be it. The shower in room six drain was blocked and reported but did not change for our stay. If you don’t like being treated like being belittled by arrogant staff then avoid like the plague.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and had breakfast there each morning. The price for the stay was very good compared to Edinburgh prices. The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly. The rooms were clean, and it’s a great base for trips to Edinburgh because you can get there by Ember bus for just £4 (December 2025). I definitely recommend it and would stay again if I have the chance.

Very friendly, helpful host who multi-tasks very well. Room very clean - drawback - no hairdryer or iron in room. Used public transport to get there but that was inconvenient. Hotel is in nowhere land but clean, comfortable, quiet, and safe. Be great if you have a car.

Property was a bit loud being next to a school and from events in their event center. Location is very difficult to get to and from if you don’t have a car. Uber services will not pick you up from there.

Very convenient location to Edinburgh airport for a return flight back to Canada. Room was comfortable and quiet, with a full breakfast as a bonus. Very reasonable price.

Can't fault this hotel. Breakfast included in price was both continental and cooked. The floor in our room was slightly squeaky which may have annoyed people in the room below. Bus stop only a short walk away. We caught the x55 bus to edinburgh. I would definitely stay again.

Decent hotel for the price and the rooms were clean ,Rachel in the breakfast area was so helptand so was Ali who made sure we were comfortable. The hotel is situated in a residential area which is not the best developed but still hotel seems nice and safe Has a chippy /bar/restaurant and ice cream parlour right next to it in case I come back from Edinburgh early Easy transport options (bus trainand park and ride from near hotel Would recommend for a decent priced hotel away from city . Would recommend!!

when we arrived for our 2 night stay no one at reception, choices at breakfast buffet mostly empty both mornings we stayed {and we were not late}, ie basics like butter, milk, juices, bread, fruit, all empty ,we had no order taken for a cooked breakfast ,some people got up and left after waiting to long for their cooked breakfast, tables were not cleaned after use, I have spent lifetime in Catering and they need more staff on at breakfast {only seemed to be 1 young chap}no disrespect to him but need more experienced people on and the reception situation is quite frankly ridiculous, no body around at anytime of day, I stayed there with previous owners and everything was of a decent standard ,the current owners are new to hotel ownership I gather but they certainly need to put more staff on and to put more effort into their customer satisfaction especially breakfast time because if they do not they will struggle to get guests retuning and will not be Hotel owners for very long in my opinion, it was a Scotland Rugby weekend and busy but Im pretty sure none of the guests there that morning will return

Restaurant and lounge bar were closed due to not having a chef. If we had been advised we would not have stayed there. When away for a few days break it is nice to relax and enjoy a glass of something along with your evening meal in the hotel and not having to drive to a restaurant. The limited staff were all friendly, but definitely got the impression that the hotel was operating on a shoe string with a lack of attention to detail. We have stayed there several times in the past and therefore very disappointed especially with not being advised in advance about the lack of facilities.

I booked this hotel for one of our engineers as it stated on Hotels.com that breakfast was included and that there were restaurant facilities - it quite clearly states Mackenzies open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Our engineer got there expecting a hot meal after a long day on site - and was told that the restaurant at the hotel hadn't been open for weeks!!! They were still doing breakfasts though. If it said that on the website I wouldn't have booked him in there !!! Very misleading.

Good sized room, clean and had everything needed. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Well situated for local pubs and restaurants. There was occasional noise a couple of time late into the evening and early morning from the building behind but generally quiet. Easy parking.

La habitacion correcta...limpia, comoda y aceptable...capacidad buena y las instalaciones muy bien....del personal no puedo decir prácticamente nada porque solo bos recibieron al hacer el.check in y no volvimos a ver a mas personal...desayuno muy básico y simple pero aceptable...lo.que no entiendo es por que siempre hay poca leche disponible...debe ser que no es ls costumbre de utilizar leche oara desayunar...pero, en cualquier caso , un hotel correcto y sobre todo limpio
