Our stay was pleasant. Services were basic including breakfast was satisfying. We had a room on the 2nd floor and carrying luggage up and down stairs was not pleasing. The room electric outlets were old making it difficult to charge phones. WIFI was very good. The pool and shaded sitting area were well maintained and inviting.

We were traveling with family and one room had to be changed because it was filthy, the ac wasn’t working and it smelled like cigarette smoke. The pool was drained and everything looked run down. There was nothing posted on the website about the pool being closed.

The room smelled very strongly of smoke. It was very dirty behind dressers and beds. Bathroom bath bar, towel bar and hair dryer were all broken. No pool as advertised. Shut down. Some bedding had stains. Tenants loud downstairs. This all for $345 a night! Totally overpriced even in Lenox near Tanglewood. Didn't try breakfast, didn't want to. Overall, it was pretty gross, especially for the price and it that area.

Howard Johnson offered the best price in the Pittsfield and Lenox vicinity for a room with two queen beds on the day we needed it. For the price, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous size of the room and the comfort of the clean beds. The room came with more than we needed: black-out curtains, A/C, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, desk, hanging space with ironing board and iron... our sleep was not distrubed by traffic noise despite the hotel facing a major road. We heard nothing from neighboring rooms which may not have been occupied. The hotel is dated which shows most in the small bathroom with its aged tub and stained shower curtain. But it did seem clean. Note that this is a motel; rooms are accessed directly from the very well-lit parking area with stairs leading to the 2nd floor row of rooms also facing the parking lot. There is no elevator. Because the motel is so well lit, I recommend an eye mask for those whose sleep would be disturbed by the sliver of light that edges the black-out curtains where the curtains do not lie completely flat against the wall. Overall I recommend this motel for those on a budget. It offered clean comfort at a great price and the receptionist was very helpful. It's also within walking distance of CVS, Marshalls, a supermarket, restaurants and is a short drive to the gorgeous village of Lenox.

The rooms were damp, dark and smelt of cleaning fluids. The swimming pool was under construction without any notice on the website (Expedia or Howard Johnson)

The property facilities were not as advertised. The pool was not in working condition, and there was no Jacuzzi. The carpeting in the room had lots of folds and bumps and was a tripping hazard. The morning breakfast was a joke. A piece of fruit or some lousy coffee, The room was way over priced for what we got at $320 per night! The hotel said that Expedia was supposed to notify us of the changes in the facility such as the pool, but Expedia never notified. There was also loud construction early in the morning. I feel Expedia miss represented this property and we deserve a refund or discount!

Parking was great, as was staff. The room appeared as if it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. We found a pair of socks, not ours, hair in the bathtub. Black mild on ceiling above shower in room #121. For what we paid as a premium on a busy holiday weekend, we expected at the very least, a clean, comfortable updated room. This room was livable but by no means worth premium prices.

Expected Good from description. I was good. Pool was well kept. Nice outdoor seating area. Room was clean.

Here’s why: Pros: Comfy beds Very nice staff at front desk & housekeeping Very big room Refreshing pool Great location— next to shopping, grocery & food options.( Highly recommend Electras cafe across the very busy road) Nice shower pressure Has fridge in room Cons: Needs a DEEP cleaning. I bought Lysol wipes and cleaned the room myself. Even though housekeeping was very friendly they should be more aware of cleaning properly. The pool and surrounding areas could use some trash pickup and general cleaning also. It looks like the pool needs a lot of maintenance constantly ( visual repairs could be seen like glue and the depth number stickers kept falling off) Even though the location is GREAT, there is constant street noise from route 7. At night I noticed some shady people roll in with open doors to room with loud music. Also, I think I may have seen some “conjugal pandering”, if you know what I mean. Continental breakfast is very standard, at best Let’s just say after 4 nights I was ready to leave this property

Our room reeks of smoke, it’s to be a nonsmoking room. The curtains are filthy, the toilet isn’t secured properly to the floor and rocks every time you sit on it and the air conditioning isn’t working well.

The room was clean, the bathroom and pool area was spotless and the staff was friendly, professional and helpful.

Room had a musty smell. Carpet not properly vacuumed (found bobby pins on floor). Shower curtain moldy. Bathroom floor dirty. Toilet not set correctly. However, bed was clean and comfortable.

The tv had what looked like spilled soda dripped down the front of it and dried, there were ants (not a lot tho), a patch of mold above the shower, only one towel didn’t have some sort of stain on it, the walls all had marks, and really, I think if they would just clean it, it would be a decent place. Shame. The lady checking out ahead of me was demanding a refund because her room had bedbugs so I guess I got off easy.

I have stayed here on and off, and even during home renovations. It’s always clean and the staff are friendly, this is one of the best kept hotels in the area!

The property seemed safe but it was not clean. I took pictures of gunk in the corners of the bathroom floor and black stains on the sheets. The drapes were also dirty and the phone had so much dust in the crevices - it looked like it had never been cleaned. I did not see any bugs or vermin so there is that. Overall, the hotel is overpriced and I will never go back.

The room was very dirty and smelled of urine/ smoke. The sheets and blankets were stained. The curtains were also stained. The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned. Due to the poor conditions we had no choice but to leave. The staff was not accommodating and didn't take our concerns seriously. Manager said my complaints were subjective and that we could not receive a refund or alternatives for our stay. First floor room.

The room was enormous didn't feel cramped at all like some hotels. There for one night, the pool looked pretty decent, didn't have time to try it out. The room had a fairly strong odor of old cigarette smoke. A deep cleaning would probably help. The carpet seemed fairly new, but felt as though it was installed over an old carpet. Installation was done poorly, some corners not tacked down properly. What I disliked the most and seemed sort of sketchy was at check in. I'm used to hotels taking a deposit on a credit card for incidentals, but this hotel asked for my ID, again not too unusual, but the clerk scanned it and made a photocopy. I've never seen this done before anywhere, unless I missed clerks being more discreet. They did not ask for a credit card, just took a copy of my license, the clerk said they hold the copy for 15 days and then shred the copies. It just sounds weird. Would I stay there again? If it was just an overnight and really inexpensive, maybe. But it is not a vacation destination hotel.

The room was clean and quiet

The room was adequate, but smelled damp. The electric needs upgrading; not enough outlets for all the devices that need charging. The toilet tank needs repair; it ran constantly.

The room was a very decent size, much larger than I was expecting. It was also very clean and there didn't seem to be anything broken in it. However, the beds were not very comfortable (for me and my son, but probably just a matter of preference). But in the bathroom, you had to take a big step to get over the threshold of the tub, and in getting out, you had to be careful of not j ust putting your foot down, but doing it gently since tghere was an extra drop to reach the floor.

Generally clean, friendly staff. The furniture was decent but the room had an odor to it, I believe from the carpet which should be removed.

Older property but maintained okay. It is fairly close to a busy road with the expected traffic noise. Daily housekeeping which some places have gotten away from so that was nice. Decent location. There was nothing really bad about it just nothing really good about it either hence the 3 stars.

Property is very well maintained, better than even the "higher end" hotels I stayed at - very clean, super comfortable beds, pleasant front desk agent - and all at a great price! Very pleasantly surprised by Howard Johnson - keep doing this!

Tough to get a room in Berkshires in July on short notice. Found this and location smack dab in middle of everything worked. Main thing the place is QUIET. Staff deeply committed to guest comfort

The bed was very saggy and soft, the bathroom had hair in the tub and on the floor, toothpaste spots on the bathroom mirror, there were dirty handprints all over the bathroom door. The tray the coffee pot was on was filthy. There was no staff available at 1:30 am to ask room next door to turn down a very loud tv that woke me up. Poor stay overall.

I booked a wheelchair accessible room. When we checked in they not only tried to give me a room upstairs. Then they gave us a queen room downstairs and my walker could not fit through the bathroom door. So we had to cancel since they could not accommodate my physical disability. The owner/manager stated he would cancel the reservation and put in for a refund on the card. Then as we were leaving to head to the new motel, the owner/manager then came out to the car and started arguing with us. Everything he did was deceiving.

There was nothing unique about the property, but it's convenient to shopping areas, the Berkshire region, restaurants, Tanglewood. The breakfast area could be beefed up some - maybe a third or 4th cereal option, some fresh fruit like blueberries, melon (they did have apples, bananas). The room was large, comfortable, clean - a good place to stay for a couple of nights.

The hotel was conveniently located 10 minutes from Tanglewood. The room was surprisingly spacious and well appointed. And very clean. The only disappointment was the included self-serve breakfast. For $300/night, one would expect a spread of more than bread slices, bananas, juice, and a couple of yogurt containers.

Right on Rt 20 but quiet, good sized clean room , equidistant to Tanglewood or Pittsfield. Great base of operations for Lenox and the Berkshires!
