Hyatt Centric Guatemala City

I like this hotel because it's close to the airport and has ample underground parking. The breakfast buffet is beautifully arranged and there are plenty of options available. The hotel is showing some signs of wear in the common areas and elevators. The gym is great!

Absolutely the best hotel in Guatemala City. Rooftop pool and restaurant, amazing gym, all rooms are beautiful with great amenities.

We got an uber directly from the airport and stayed at the Hyatt in zona 10 specifically because I had read it was safe. The area was great and there were many dining options. We enjoyed the rooftop bar and infinity swimming pool. The staff was amazing!

A comfortable stay in a modern , well priced hotel in zone 10 near to shops and restaurants. Staff are extremely attentive and friendly. Lively roof top bar and swimming pool. Ideal after sight seeing.

A modern well appointed, comfortable hotel in Zone 10. The food is great, the staff so friendly and helpful and the roof top bar/ swimming pool is a delight. The hotel is in a smart, safe area in close walking distance to bars, restaurants and shops.

I have been to many hotels and I had never been treated like I didn't belong which make me feel discrimated. Staff was a bit rude and didn't seem to want to help. Parking at the hotel is inconvenient you have to take 3 different elevators to get to your room.

The airport pick up was perfect. The room and breakfast too. There was a smell in the elevators in particular but in the room also that was unpleasant. It smelled a bit like sewage. Other thank that, it was great.

Clean room and very modern. Elevators can be a bit of a pain and small. But overall, not bad at all and I would book again!

Well serviced and clean

One of the issues I had while staying at the Hyatt Centric was the stench of sewage in my room and in the elevators. Also, it would’ve been nice if they included free transportation from airport to the hotel, and vice versa. But you have to let them know beforehand that you want transportation and it costs around $16, which is a lot more expensive than the $6-10 you’d pay for a cab or uber. Everything else was okay, but a bit disappointing as I expected more from the Hyatt brand.

Room smells like sewage. Staff was unable to change room. Sprayed room excessively with air freshener. Shower glass dirty. Would not recommend. Stay somewhere else.

Room is recently renovated, but quality is so so. Room is small compare with other hotels nearby. Staff is not trained very well, they will knock your door in the morning asking for Laundry or return it, despite the “DO NOT disturb” signal. Swimming poor only open 7am-7pm, sometimes the access card system doesn’t work and you have to wait for the person to open and they usually come late. Breakfast is decent.

The room was spacious, comfortable And very clean the breakfast buffet had many options, including keto and gluten-free! The lunch and dinner menu delicious appetizers, main courses and desserts! the staff starting from the valet reception, cleaning crew, hostesses and waiters and in room, service staff were polite and very helpful! I would like to give a special shout out to Rudy who met us when we first arrived took us upstairs to the reception area offered and prepared us a cultural beverage took us up to our room with our luggage and anytime we would see him in the hotel He would continuously offer help and information about hotel amenities, and the surroundings. Also a shout out to Receptionist Kimberly and Frinne Very helpful, polite, and always had a smile on their face. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Excellent service

I love the Hyatt but this was a different experience. Emailed to confirm early check-in weeks in advance. Was told it can be arranged (I have the email to confirm). Arrived 9:45am and early check-in was not available. Was Asked to sit in the waiting area to “see what they can do” two staff changes later still Nothing. No one came to informed Room reserved for 2 however equipped everyday As if it was services for 1. 1 set of towels, 1 robe, had to ask for additional supplies daily. Literally daily. The second day while waiting for an additional key card since it was removed while the room was being serviced the bell man asked “did you receive your complimentary drink upon arrival” to which I responded oh no we weren’t offered anything during the time we were waiting for the room 9:45am until 15:00. While at the rooftop enjoying a drink and a bite noticed a bug on the table brought it to their attention and I was treated as if I planted the bug. They offered a Complementary beer for this I don’t know why or what the purpose of that was. Asked to schedule drop off at the airport and on my day of checkout I was told “they didn’t have that arranged for me” had to call a taxi on my own. And today a day after checking jour I receive and email asking me to check out. Which I already did YESTERDAY. I really hope I don’t get charged for this. Overall it’s a wonderful hotel, great location, excellent rooms and amenities. But this time around my personal experience wasn’t the greatest.

Awesome hotel, the staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The cleaning staff was very service focused and pleasant. The rooms are super spacious and clean. The neighborhood has plenty of great eateries.

Staff was rude, not helpful. They treat customers like their treating criminals!!! Almost malr you feel ypu will check out and mot pay!

DO NOT TRUST ANYONE AT THE HYATT IN GUATEMALA CITY The front desk staff here is either incompetent or untrustworthy, or both, which in our case put us in a situation where we feared for our lives. 1. Upon our arrival, they tried to overcharge us for an 8-minute drive from the airport rather than the previously agreed amount (in writing) that was barely a tenth of what they now wanted. 2. They arranged a car and driver for us to Lake Atitlan (at double the price our local friends usually pay), but when the driver arrived, he admitted he had never actually driven to San Marcos. After a couple hours, about half way through the trip, he also admitted that due to his old age, he had trouble seeing at night — which was evident. We were so concerned that we’d die on the dark, windy roads that I asked him to pull over so I could drive the rest of the way. He was grateful. To conclude, we expected that a hotel at the calibre of an international chain like the Hyatt, would be able to arrange safe, reliable, and reasonably priced transport considering we made the request 3 weeks in advance via phone and email. What we got, instead, was a dangerous and overpriced misadventure that we’ll hopefully laugh at, one day. I would not recommend this hotel, and I will not stay here again.

All the staff went above and beyond for my family. This was the best customer service I've ever received from any hotel. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Beautiful and modern hotel in Guatemala City's best area

Convenient hotel for a comfortable stay in a safe and walkable part of Guatemala City. The area lacks the charm and interest of the historic centre but nearby museums such as Popol Voh are a short taxi away.

I have stayed here 3 times already and will prob continue staying here. Love the location!

Confort de la chambre et de la literie au top. Plusieurs restaurants localisés aux alentours de l’hôtel. Avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour.

The hotel is located in the heart of zone 10 several restaurants are less than 5 minutes walk. A shopping center called Fontabella is one block away. Traffic is complex. The restaurant is good. We spent thanksgiving and dinner was super. We definitely recommend the hotel.

The Hyatt Centric is well positioned for shops and restaurants. Staff are extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. Breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of Guatemalan choices along with European. The roof top bar has a great vibe and the swimming pool on the roof is a must. From the doormen on first entry to checkout, the staff are amazing.
