Glynhill Hotel & Spa near Glasgow Airport

Big hotel, great location for our trip. Spacious, clean room. Fantastic breakfast. Nice pool and spa. Plenty parking. Gym small and much too hot to work out in. Would definitely return.

We mainly booked because of the leisure facilities. I was at the hotel a few years ago and enjoied it , when we stayed we were disapointed that the jacuzzi had been taken away and the sauna out of service, which really only left the pool and steam room accessible. It seems to have gone downhill since my last visit

Pizzas are amazing! Room was clean, fresh and we got a good night's sleep. Pool areas amazing too! Lovely staff, would return. My we bit burnt himself at breakfast and the staff were absolutely outstanding.

Close to the motorway system and bus routes into Glasgow, the Glynhill provides a good base. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the food is good as are the spa and pool.

Room 128 must be near a generator kept awake all night with it clicking on and off worst sleep in a hotel stay ever. stairwell at room the carpet was soaking wet with a bucket catching dripping water should have been closed off, room needs upgraded, small and very dark even with all the lights on, no lift was there with an elderly parent struggled getting up the stairs. Drink prices was extortionate, nice breakfast in the morning only positive. Pool closed due to maintenance works dueing our stay. Would not return.

On arrival we were told that we had a twin room, not double as we had booked. The lady on reception did manage to resolve this which we were thankful for - but that is where the positives end. There were signs all over the hotel that the elevator was out of order (they had definitely been up for around 1 week and they were a little worn and curled at the edges!). We were put in a room on the 2nd floor, so we sets off dragging our bags and suitcase up the stairs.. along very dated corridors with cleaning products etc still scattered around the floors/windowsills. We then reached another staircase with breezeblock walls and a very worn carpet - it felt like we were in a staff area, but apparently not! Inside the room it was basic to say the least - stained chair, damaged bedsides, and the batteries taped into the remote with gaffer tape. The bed was like sleeping on a brick. One of the reviews I had read mentioned that none of the electrical equipment had PAT test stickers - so I did also pick up on this. No iron or hairdryer in the room which I'd say is a pretty basic requirement of any hotel 3* and above. The room directly opposite us was a cleaners store which was wedges open the whole time (just a small detail but shows lack of care/hospitality). After other reviews we didn't attempt the spa as we wanted to leave ASAP. Overall the hotel is in dire need of refurbishment and is the photos online are from 2012-2015 so are misleading. Overall would not return or recommend.

Very convenient for Glasgow Airport. Excellent full cooked breakfast buffet choices with plenty of space in the restaurant. Interesting building with lots of facilities and quirky areas. Nice pool.

All the staff were friendly and helpful despite some obviously being trainees. My aunt had an accessible room which was large and spacious with a shower room which had plenty of room for wheelchair access. Well done! My only complaint was that when we went for a swim they wanted us to use the towels from our room, quite far away from the pool or pay £2.50 for a towel. Really that is a bit penny pinching!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We didn’t use the bar or restaurant so cannot comment on those but we did have breakfast which was very nice with plenty of choice. The only down side was that I received an email a few weeks before our stay advising that the lift was out of order and when we arrived the lift had still not been repaired which was disappointing due to the amount of stairs to our room. Despite this we did enjoy our night in this hotel.

Good location Friendly staff Beyond that you're struggling. Rooms and common parts are really tired. No soap or shampoo in the rooms, which have dispensers means it's not been checked or topped up for days or weeks. Bizarrely window was open when i got in at 9pm. In a storm. Room never got warm. Tv didn't work. Could've stream a tablet to it. Breakfast was really grim. Quite embarrassing. Plenty of choice. All of it poor. Cutlery was filthy. Ended up cleaning and polishing it again myself. Wasn't just watermarks, it was dirty. On a table of 4 settings, this was the better/safer option. Despite an early table the buffet had crusty cheese, Bizarrely bread individually in paper bags was the highlight. The haggis and tattie scones lazily thrown into a fryer with dirty oil was the best option. Nothing felt clean. Staff are all pleasant but no supervisor/management or leadership. Gave up trying to check out and left my room key with 10" lead pipe on the counter and headed off in search of an early lunch. Pool area is nice enough but rhe floors were filthy. Would recommend flipflops. Used to be a great hotel 25 years ago. But reckon it's not changed much in that time.

Main reception area, bar & restaurant were lovely. Hotel was spotless. Staff were all very nice but the thing that let the hotel down were the rooms definitely not 4star & the noise on the Saturday night was really loud shouting & doors banging till 3am didn’t make for a very relaxing stay

Black Mold in shower , very poor shower water pressure and shower head broken. Totally unacceptable for the price. Never stay again.

Room was tatty and not very clean, everything about the place was of poor quality and needs a serious update.

Room had dirty scrunched up tissues on the bedroom floor. The room definitely wasn't hoovered. Long black hair in the bath and on the floor. This place is the worst ive ever stsyed in. Even felt like the reception staff were doing me a favour by checking me in. Absolutely horrible night. This place is just a glorified hostel. Please dont waste your money on this hotel.

The room was very clean and all the staff were polite. The only thing there was water in the kettle and a double shower in the room but only one shower worked.

Bathroom had mould on shower door,broken shower control (two bits were missing ).No mirror in bedroom,lighting to subdued..Crumbling paintwork,stains on carpet.Upgraded room was a letdown and in no way reflected the price I paid for it.Won't be back.

Stayed on a number of occasions at this hotel as the location works for us. Stayed with my grandson on this trip so spend a fair bit of time on my hands and knees searching for things ie lids to bottles etc. couldn’t believe how much rubbish there was under the beds from previous occupants. Bin wasn’t emptied on last night. Generally, cleanliness aside, the hotel was ok but definitely not 4 star. Nobody asking you at the hotel if everything was ok or when or where the breakfast was served.

This was a very, very disappointing stay. I paid £155 and when I arrived and got to my room, some of the fittings were vibrating to the beat of the music from the function going on somewhere else in the building. I asked to move rooms, which they did so I was pleased with that. However, the room I was moved to haven’t been cleaned properly. There was used tissue and a coin on the floor. The carpet was stained (possibly blood), there was grime on the wall, the bedside table glass looked like I haven’t been cleaned in years, and there was food on the side of the chair. Absolutely disgusting. I didn’t stay for breakfast, I left only seven hours after checking in. Would definitely not recommend, I would definitely not come back. On the way out, I passed staircases and walkways in need of much renovation. I understand that the four star rating the hotel has refers to the amenities, but I would expect things to be much better than this.

Decent room with a comfortable bed. Decor a bit tired.

Ideal for closeness to the airport but not overly comfortable, not enough lights to see at night in rooms, bathroom light half were not working, room was big and clean though, noisy even though we were end of a corridor lots late night returns to rooms.

The location was good away from the centre of Glasgow but easy enough to drive in ( cost £12 to park) or taxi as we did (£20 one way) The hotel was clean, small bar area and lift to rooms. We were room 373 on second floor which seemed to be in an annexe was a few mins walk, up and down some steps. The room was lovely, clean and spacious with velux windows. The iron /board was unusable due to coming away from the wall. Phoned reception to ask for a iron and board, had to phone again and a ironing board was brought. Still had tio use the iron attached to the wall. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in , was hard and lumpy. Was ready to ask to move room the next day but on viewing open rooms that were being cleaned they bed seemed all the same. Breakfast was served past reception down some steps. On offer was porridge, cereal fruit and yoghurt, cooked breakfast. Bread for toasting was a choice of brown or white THIN slices individually wrapped The toaster took an age to work in the end I gave up. Drinks machine for Coffees and hot water for tea. Juices available. The spa/pool area small pool , separate sauna and steam room . Changing facilities clean and adequate. Would I choose to stay here again - not really was left disappointed with the hotel not really a 4* standard that I had expected

Hotels a little dated, could do with modernising, TVs old in the rooms, poor wifi connectivity.. spa staff close up 15mins prior to closing. Front desk very friendly

Room 142 is small. It was very cramped with two twin beds, a table, armchair and desk chair. I had to move the table and chair to get into the hanging closet, then I had to move than all back again to get seated at the desk to do some work. A room this size should only have one bed, a single or perhaps a double. Fortunately, I was traveling alone on this occasion, but if my wife had been with me we would have been very cramped in that small room. Having said all that.... the breakfast was outstanding and definitely worth the extra cost.

Thin walls - thin enough to hear people coughing on the other side. Drafty windows let it lots of road noise. There’s more convenient places to stay for heading to the airport.

This property has no air conditioning. It was so hot in the rooms. If you’re saying during colder months that wouldn’t be an issue. Also, be aware. This hotel hosts large parties and allows very loud music to echo through the whole hotel. It didn’t stop till 1am. Although front desk said it would stop at 1230am.

Hotel staff were great, hotel is old but nice. Beds are terribly uncomfortable very hard.

The noise from the road was terrible plus it was if the person next door was sleeping in my room,you could hear him breathe never mind the snoring he was doing all night, slept in my car for few hours till checked out early

Near the Glasgow airport with convenient public transportation that drops you off just a few minutes down the street. Older building. The halls give the feeling of walking down the halls of a cruise ship. I requested late check out but they couldn't extend it more than 30 minutes unfortunately. I was awakened with a loud knocking by room services an hour and a half before check out despite having the do not disturb sign on the door. I still would recommend and I would stay here again.

I arrived at property at 2.50pm to be told quite bluntly “check in opens at 3” so had to go back to car for 10 mins till 3pm. If she’d said it in a polite manner or offered to wait in bar I would of given higher score but that 1st impression ruined my stay

The only reason I didn't mark full stars was the front desk tried to cheat us out of the room we paid for. Gave a room well below what was reserved and tried to rename a king bed room a "petite king" so he could pass off a double bed room as a king! Nope, not having it. Called him out, stood my ground, and got the king room we paid for. Take a picture of the room you chose to reserved before reserving so you know and can show exactly what you paid for. Other than that the restaurant and bar staff was amazing!! Also very close to airport so I recommend staying here the night before your flight to make it easier.

Had a pleasant stay, rooms were comfortable ( a little dusty) check in could be quicker. We were already in a lengthy queue ( this was around 4.30pm) 15 minutes later a tour bus turned up and a representative from the bus jumped the queue and they had to start getting 20+ keys together. I do think they should have joined the queue like the rest of us or have more staff members. We were at a wedding and the bar staff was thin on the ground serving next door as well as us so it was a very slow service. Overall it's a lovely hotel and staff were lovely just seem majorly understaffed.

fab stay after room upgrade, could not fault staff in any way and would use this hotel again , special thanks to katie . Breakfast was brilliant and had a very wide choice, again all fresh and perfect.

The employee at the check in desk when I arrived was very poor. She did not explain how to get to my room clearly and I wandered outside up and down trying to find it. I went back to ask again and was treated as though I was an idiot. She made it obvious that helping a guest was the least of her priorities. Again I was given poor instructions on how to get to my room. So much so that eventually I went into the leisure complex to ask, not wanting to go back up to reception. The girl there was much more helpful and allowed me through a locked door leading up to my room. My room was on the second floor and the lift was not working and by the look of the out-of-order sign it has not been working for a considerable time. After an 8 hour drive from England, wandering up and down outside the hotel for half an hour and eventually having to climb up to the second floor with my luggage I was not very happy. Lucky it wasn't raining. There was no soap or shampoo in the shower when I arrived. Being on the second floor, the water pressure wasn't great and lets just say it wasn't a power shower. There was a sofa bed in the room that was broken and the tv was immediately on the wall opposite that. It meant you couldn't ait on the sofa to watch tv. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the buffet breakfast was excellent.

My issued room was not as the hotels.com showed which I paid a premium for. The images used were incorrect and lets say creative marketing was as fault. Nice hotel in good location. Bus outside to take you into Glasgow, about 50 mins or train station at nearby Paisley, from there, 15 mins. Holel is a bit old fashioned but clean with lovely staff members. Plenty of free parking outside the hotel. We struggled to sleep due to a stange tapping sound in our room all night, but we couldn't find out where it was coming from. Breakfast was expensive and disappointing, the fruit was tinned and the sliced cheese was so dry the edges were curled. We only had it our first morning then didn’t bother after that. There's not a lot around the hotel but there's a shopping mall and supermarket a short drive away. The bed was huge and comfy. We couldn't get the water to run hot for a nice shower. In was cold out but the room was nice and warm. We enjoyed our stay and we would stay again. The staff make this hotel worth returning to.

Partly because I was very tired but also the bed was comfortable, so had a very refreshing sleep. The TV is workable but useless. The breakfast exceeded all expectations in quality choice and space. Would not hesitate to stay again while passing through Glasgow. Convenient to the airport.

Property is old and needs a renovation, main entry glass was very dirty on ceiling, landscape needs a gardener. Pool was not a "spa" just a bunch of kids splashing around. Where the dinner restaurant was very good the breakfast was a greasy mess buffet and $40 for it is a rip off..sorry. an omelet station would be nice Traditional Scottish breakfast, it is not. Old cold and drowning in grease..

This is a nice hotel, tho some areas are a little tired looking. Dinner was very good..but it would be nice to have dome fresh fruit at breakfast.

Room was fine. We thought the charge for breakfast was a bit pricey and opted out. We did eat at the restaurant for dinner and the food was ok. Price was comparable to other options in the area.

Lovely staff, fairly clean room, parking excellent, breakfast good for most but little choice for vegetarians, maybe have fresh fruit instead of tinned, warm croissants instead of solid cold ones, and a little more choice .

Convenient to Paisley and motorway. Pleasant helpful staff. Plenty variety for breakfast and good dinner menu.

New menu at the restaurant which was excellent.
