Hotel lobby is undergoing renovation but rooms have been updated. Nice rooms but small - just fine as a place to sleep and keep your stuff. Bathroom is small but functional, nice tiled shower enclosure. Location is great - a stone's throw from City Hall/Market Square and the Avon Theatre, one block from Ontario (main) Street shops. On-site parking is very limited and costs $20 per day. Tip: if mobility is not an issue (and the weather is good) there is a huge, free parking lot a five minute walk away.

Room was very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. The elevator was out of order and since we were on the top floor, they carried our luggage both to and from our rooms. The hotel is a grand old building with a beautiful curved staircase, crown moulding, and even an original wall painting in our mini suite. This is architecture that you don't get in chain hotels.

Very clean room. Nice comfortable bed. A second small night table would have been a nice addition. The hotel interior and surroundings were very clean. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for dining,theaters etc, all within walking or short drive. Only drawback is the limited overnight parking. We were lucky to get the last of nine spots adjacent to the hotel. The nearest free overnight parking is at least 2 Km away. Online it says parking available but does not say there is a small fee. It should.

After we had booked the room, we were informed we had to book our parking separately. We immediately contacted the hotel and found no parking was available. The hotel offered that we could park at a place over a quarter mile away. The alternate parking proved to be an issue as the hotel does not have an area for unloading luggage from automobiles near the entrance and the long walk back from the alternate parking proved “unpleasant” on a hot and humid day.

The location was great. Not a lot of staff around, but friendly when they were spotted. The room was pretty good, bed comfy and nice pillows but the elevator was not working and I was on the third floor. Additionally, the hydraulics in the doors - both into the hallway from the stairs and into the room, were too strong. My room door knocked me over when I tried to open the door then reach back for my bags - not a half second pause before the heavy door closed and smacked me. The hallway door from the stairwell smashed loudly every time someone came into the hall - very loud. There were nice touches in the room - lovely glasses (not plastic) and real china coffee mugs - bonus points there.

It was a convenient location. Room was a decent size with a basic bathroom on suite. Airconditioning was good. Bare minimum in terms of essentials. No tissue paper. shampoo and shower gel dispensers were difficult to use.. to extract contents. door to room often stuck and was difficult to open. Internet was very poor and slow. TV didn't work because of slow internet.

The hotel was under maintenance which we did not know, therefore elevators were not in use. Upon residing for the evening, we discovered the bed linens were dirty with hairs, dirt particles and a fly. My husband waited a half hr for staff to return to front desk in which we were given sheets to change ourselves and dirty pillows without covers. In the morning, I was startled to see the bath water coming out brown. The cleaning lady was next to our room, and she kept slamming the door repeatedly every couple seconds. I don’t not understand why she was doing this so often but it was extremely loud and rattled the windows in our room. We will never return to this hotel.

However, we had rust in the water for quite some time, and the water was very soft and slightly slimy. I liked the wooden floors and the property's general "oldness," but the bathroom sink had two separate faucets for hot and cold. The hot water was boiling hot and had rust in it. There was no way to mix the hot and cold water to make it comfortable for washing your hands or face. I know it's just the style of the faucets, but it was strange.

Perfect location for visiting Stratford. The bed is comfortable and the room is clean. The bathroom is extremely small. However, the hotel is charmless. The paint is chipped, no pictures on the walls. For a charming town like Stratford, I expected a more cozy, interesting environment.

Red flags everywhere. Very poorly kept property, room had musty odour, multiple broken or damaged things, and mystery stains. The last straw was the pubic hair on the toilet. I checked out within minutes of entering and a week later I’m still chasing for a refund. I booked months in advance and it was not cheap. When I trying to find new accommodation I saw the price was half of what I paid and it was opening week for the festival so they should have been at capacity but with the state of the hotel I can see why it was deserted. Avoid this place at all costs.

My room was very clean and comfortable. There aren’t any food options available at the hotel at present, though I believe renovations are ongoing. Luckily there are many restaurants within blocks of this centrally located hotel.The staff was very helpful and friendly.

This hotel is in an excellent location. It is within walking distance of great dining and shopping as well as the theatres. It is clean and the decor is nice. The parking was very difficult to get into and out of. The wi-fi was sketchy at best, and non-existent the rest of the time. The bathroom had a sink with 2 separate taps that meant you had to fill the sink to wash your hands as the hot water was too hot to use without mixing with cold. There was absolutely no counterspace in the bathroom and it was very small. If you are a larger person, the toilet would be difficult to access.

Room is very small, almost claustrophobic. No desk to work on. Not good water pressure. A 250$ damage deposit is unreasonable for the room. No cable tv so cannot watch live tv or news/sports

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apt and it was perfect. The space could use some updating but it was very spacious! The staff were super friendly and you couldn't ask for a better location!

Had a terrific time staying here on my first trip to Stratford. The knowledgably, kind, and approachable staff were always open to help and chat about their lovely town. Really love the classic features of the building as well. Close to all the theaters by foot. Only thing was that the walls of the older units were pretty thin so if someone opened the conjoining doors between hallways it sounded like your door was being opened as well as hearing a lot of chatter. light sleepers-bring ear plugs. Thank you for the otherwise wonderful stay!

Front desk staff helpful. Room was OK. Great location - easy access to plays, downtown shops and restaurants. Came by train, so i do not know about parking. The room is clean, amenities ok. Bed comfortable. No room safe. Floor above is very creaky, so best hope that the people above have a soft walk

Room 218 was very loud. Paper thin walls and it is right by the stairs so lots of ppl coming and going. The room was large but empty. 2 double beds, a large dresser. It could have used a loveseat & maybe a rug as the floors were hardwood. The window in the bathroom was quite drafty. $340 for 1 night and I feel like I got the bare minimum- beds & a bathroom.

Room was very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. The elevator was out of order and since we were on the top floor, they carried our luggage both to and from our rooms. The hotel is a grand old building with a beautiful curved staircase, crown moulding, and even an original wall painting in our mini suite. This is architecture that you don't get in chain hotels.

On the plus side, the Windsor Hotel in Stratford is centrally located and is close to the Avon Theatre and numerous restaurants. On the negative side, there is no restaurant, the rooms are not great, our bathroom and shower was from the 1950's, the front desk staff disappeared from the front desk for long periods (more than the stated 30 minutes) and were not available when needed. The hotel also requires full payment one week before your arrival date, not a regular practise for most hotels. I will NOT be staying at the hotel again!

The Windsor Hotel in Stratford was a wonderful place to stay for our three day visit over the recent long weekend. The newly renovated hotel is lovely, and the historic rooms have been upgraded with great attention to detail. More than the hotel itself, the owner and staff are outstanding. Tushar, one of the co-owners, went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that we were comfortable and well taken care of. Marou, Ankit and Kayla were excellent as well. More than anything else, we felt like honoured guests in their home and we felt that we were appreciated. This is very rare these days. It's apparent that Tushar and his team set high standards and try to exceed them each and every day. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Stratford and wanting to stay in the centre of town, with walking access to theatres, shopping and great dining experiences, to stay here.

The location was great. Not a lot of staff around, but friendly when they were spotted. The room was pretty good, bed comfy and nice pillows but the elevator was not working and I was on the third floor. Additionally, the hydraulics in the doors - both into the hallway from the stairs and into the room, were too strong. My room door knocked me over when I tried to open the door then reach back for my bags - not a half second pause before the heavy door closed and smacked me. The hallway door from the stairwell smashed loudly every time someone came into the hall - very loud. There were nice touches in the room - lovely glasses (not plastic) and real china coffee mugs - bonus points there.

Since I am currently having mobility issues from an injury, the staff quickly helped us get our luggage out of the car and up to our room and the same when we left, they helped us get the luggage packed in our car. We also received a beautiful treat in our room for our anniversary celebration. The room was clean and beautiful, not to mention the great proximity to the theater and downtown Stratford.

The staff were great, the place was just terribly understaffed. Most of the time there was no one at the desk and no one available to answer the phone when we called a few times. They would call back, but maybe hours later. There were no washrooms available in the lobby but one was available in the cafeteria which was under construction and very smelly. Friends felt unsafe with no one physically watching the front door.

The room was quite small and had a tiny shower. The location was GREAT ! We walked to dinner and breakfasf, as well as the Avon Theatre. The price was quite high, given the size of the room. The lobby area was not welcomimg next to a room full of haphazard chairs, altho these was a nice seating area for our friend to wait. Parking was good - for a fee (right next to the bldg), and the receptionist helped us with a luggage cart.

We enjoyed our stay at the Windsor Hotel. This legacy hotel has been renovated to be stylish and comfortable. While food service was limited to a breakfast box, it was high-quality. There are lots of places for a hot breakfast close by if desired. The location of the hotel can’t be beat, as it is just steps to downtown and many restaurants and to the theaters.

Unfortunately, the hotel didn’t offer breakfast this year. Last year we had a ‘box’ breakfast at our door and it was very good. The fan in the bathroom was loud, the room, although a great size, was missing finishing touches.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and clean I had booked and payed for 2 king suites. When we arrived , we were checked into one king suite and one king room. This was disappointing! When I googled this property before booking, it was advertised as having a bar and a restaurant on the premises. We booked looking forward to using these amenities. Unfortunately, there was no restaurant or bar on site.

AC was fine but wasn't well placed in the room. It was right in front of the window which was strange. Front desk was fine and pretty efficient with check-in and explaining the process. The room was pretty good but doesn't have any extras.

Overall, the stay was good! Perfect hotel for a short stay in Stratford. The location is great and close to all the main dinning and shops, including Avon Theatre. The walking distance to Coopers lot (if you're unable to get parking on site) was manageable and not far. The staff was friendly and the overall upkeep of the hotel was very nice! The room was spacious, except for the bathroom (limited counter room and very narrow space between the toilet & sink). Only area of disappointment in the stay was the front staff not letting us know at the time of check in that the TV in our room was not working, even though they were already aware of the issue from the previous guests and that the tv needed replacing given where it was broken. We were only made aware of this when we approached the front desk looking for batteries for the remote because we tried to use the tv.

Room door stuck every time it was open/closed and had to be muscled to work. Luggage rack was broken. Bedside table was broken. Hotel hallways smelled musty.. Poor lighting in the rom. Bedsheets were too small for the bed (queen on a king bed) and the sheets were stained. Liked like wine stains. Lobby tile floor very dirty snd grimy.
