Stayed here several time. Very unique hotel with character. Dog friendly and downtown so easy walk to dog friendly restaurants. Also roof top bar and lower level restaurant on site. Some rooms have nice balcony with small table and chairs to enjoy outdoors. My go to spot in Farmville

Love the Weyanoke - been there 3 times over the past 2 years - centrally located in FarmVille - so close to everything including the High Bridge Trail which my wife and I like to ride - and there’s a rooftop bar for evening cocktails

Wonderful front desk staff- examples of stellar customer service. Gracious hosts . All around beautiful hotel.Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was large with an amazing shower. The only complaint-- is that after being told the rooftop bar will be open till 1am, husband and I went for a drink after a show around 1050 and were told they were closing, no explanation or eye contact as the person was on their phone sitting at the bar while 2 others were shutting down the area- Disappointed- also wished they would have put a sign in elevator or told front desk. As we were leaving ran into more guest wanting to get a drink as well, we let them know and they too were slightly surprised that they closed so early. Otherwise lovely stay Also the breakfast attendant- amazing . She was kind and friendly. Went out of her way to help guest

Property needs some minor repairs. Our room had a busted bed frame that squeaked when you moved, also the closet door was off the rails so I had to lift to open. Maybe most disappointing was the rooftop bar closed on a Saturday at 11, they were supposed to be open till 1am but were “slow”. This is unacceptable. Also somehow they ran out of soap for the sink. The “order hadn’t come in”. So step in the shower to wash your hands I guess.

Beautiful hotel. Clean, unique style. Located in the heart of a cute town. We used the fitness amenity, located at the University just down the street. It’s a huge and really nice fitness center! We even rock climbed at the rock wall inside. Very fun.

Overall this was a great place to stay in downtown Farmville. It's extremely well located within walking distance of everything. Check in/Check out was easy. Room access was easy. The only complaint was the stain on the carpet and the chair - what was it from? The AC took a little bit of time to figure out but eventually worked fine. Was a little disappointed that Catbird rooftop restaurant was closed down, but there are plenty of other great restaurants in the area. I will want to stay here again some time.

The hotel itself is beautiful because it’s historic but the service is terrible. I had mold in my room. Maintenance left cups in the room that we checked into. The door looks as if it had been kicked in before. We had to fetch our own towels and stand watch for the bed linens to be changed. This was my fourth stay and the worst. Management did refund half on each night I stayed.i had anoth family member that had to change rooms 4 times and another that stayed only one night because they weren’t pleased. The hotel needs some repairs and the service needs to improve or they’re going to lose business. Our family reunion is in the month of July every year and my family are already planning to stay somewhere else next year. And top thing off my husband use to work there as a teenager.

This hotel was very dirty! The carpet in our room looked like it hasnt been cleaned in 100 years, the shower has filth built up around the tiles, furniture all stained, walls with dirt and other nastiness all over them, cobwebs in the corners, bathroom outlet by the sink hanging out of the wall and so much more. The best part was when the window above the bed started leaking at 1am and then water coming into the walls/ceiling. Woke up and stepped on carpet soaked with water from the walls! Our room was not only disgusting but a fire hazard. Told the front staff on check-out about the room condition and she showed little care that it was dirty! Asked no questions about how it was dirty or anything. All she offered was a $25 credit for the inconvenience. Then I get home and they overcharged my stay by almost $60. Called and spoke to a manager. She offered a $75 dollar credit and assured me that was coming off after she fixed the bill to the correct stay amount. Well, that didnt happen and the $75 was taken off the incorrect bill amount. At this point, Im cutting my losses and removing them places to stay.

I stayed here a few years ago and loved everything about this hotel. It has not been kept up well and the amenities are not what they were. The door to my room was filthy, with hand prints and smudges. The bathroom was in poor condition. The tile was not in good shape and the sink surround was rusting. The beds were very comfortable and the room seemed clean. The towels and bathrobes were very nice. Breakfast was OK. I drink decaf coffee which was not available. The sandwich was good the first day but not the second day. The second day it had a steamed "scrambled egg" square, instead of a real fried egg. The staff were not interested in being helpful. I felt like I was in a generic low end hotel rather than a charming boutique hotel.

As a previous guest, I was excited to return to this quaint property. The rooms are spacious and well appointed - the perfect place to unwind. This trip, however, left a lot to be desired in cleanliness. The towels were dirty or very stained. Worse, the sheets on one bed had not been changed between guests and there was obvious human products on the sheets. It was nasty. Sadly I am not sure I would be inclined to stay again.

Nice hotel for less than $100 a night. Parking is a bit of a pain. Room was really nice, shower was huge! My 4 stars for cleanliness were because of the mold on the bottom row of some of the tiles at the floor. Our frige in the room was more like a wine frige and breakfast is coffee, package muffins, granola bars and yogurt.

This was my second day and the HVAC controls are incomprehensible. Each suite has a mini split and the controllers do not make much sense and they never seem to do what you think they are doing. This is the hotels only short coming and they should address it immediately. in a hotel room is critical to Pleasant stay.

Very nice hotel, would definitely recommend for the walkability and convenience. The rooms were impressive, very large, very clean, & they thought of every convenience. However a few things are worth mentioning that makes me question the price of this hotel: the parking is around back and down a steep hill, which means you’re lugging luggage up a steep hill, or you can lug it up quite a few steps and around the building up hill. There is only enough room to pull your car up to the front door and check in and then park. If you have another person to take luggage from lobby to room while you park, it’s ok. There needs to be an entrance off the parking lot with an elevator to the lobby floor. The room doors are definitely not soundproof, you hear every conversation up and down the hall as if your door was open and people were talking right in your doorway. I stay at a lot of hotels so when I mention how loud every hallway noise was in my room, & I heard it all with my tv on, it’s loud. The mattress needs to be replaced or at the very least flipped, I felt like I was rolling out unless I got on the hump in the middle. If the price were the same as the other hotels in the area, the hotel itself and the rooms were so nice. I could overlook the parking and the hall noise, that’s how impressive the room was. However, for the extra price paid for this hotel, I would expect a quieter room and more convenient way of getting your luggage into the hotel.

If the price were the same as the other hotels in the area, the hotel itself and the rooms were so nice. I could overlook the parking and the hall noise, that’s how impressive the room was. However, for the extra price paid for this hotel, I would expect a quieter room and more convenient way of getting your luggage into the hotel.

I liked how close the hotel was to the university. But, the parking lot was hard to find and once you found it there was a walk up stairs and a steep sidewalk to get to the hotel itself, so carrying a lot of baggage in was hard. The elevator (there was only one), was so unbelievably slow. The room was nice, but cold. I couldn't get the heating to work properly and the rooms and bathrooms had been nicely updated at some point, but showed a lot of wear and tear, rusty metal around the sink and mildewy woodwork in the shower and big cracks in the tile. The staff in the restaurant were wonderful, but the food was average and it was a Saturday night, so I expected a bit better. If given the chance, I don't think I'd stay again, but it was fine for one weekend. The staff was lovely and helpful.

The rooms are recently updated to high standards and are very nice. Some have a little balcony to give it a boutique feel and look. The hotel has an upscale restaurant with small bar area one floor down from the lobby at street level. The rooftop bar/eating area has great views and is one of the best parts of the hotel. We were disappointed when one thunderstorm rolled through and subsequently cleared up around 5pm, but they decided to close the rooftop for the rest of the night, normally open til 10pm

By far the nicest hotel room we’ve stayed in. Great view over the town of Farmville. Restaurant was nice as well. Breakfast was not included on the weekend which was disappointing. Several people were in the hall conversing at 3am which woke us up. The doors are very thin. Other then that it was a great stay.

The hotel itself is beautiful because it’s historic but the service is terrible. I had mold in my room. Maintenance left cups in the room that we checked into. The door looks as if it had been kicked in before. We had to fetch our own towels and stand watch for the bed linens to be changed. This was my fourth stay and the worst. Management did refund half on each night I stayed.i had anoth family member that had to change rooms 4 times and another that stayed only one night because they weren’t pleased. The hotel needs some repairs and the service needs to improve or they’re going to lose business. Our family reunion is in the month of July every year and my family are already planning to stay somewhere else next year. And top thing off my husband use to work there as a teenager.

I paid for a King bed and got a Queen. Also my card to get in the room quit working Ike night. Beautiful hotel and the staff was nice but frustrated they had to many guests and dropped us to a queen instead of King.

I booked the king one bedroom suite. it wasnt availble at check in. I was put in a standard room until i spoke with staff and they gave me a junior suite. Not what I wanted but still ok. The person who checked me in initially dropped the ball. (or didnt care or whatever). she said the room would be comparable in size and was lying.

One of the worst hotel stays we\'ve ever had. The room was okay, the tv ended up not working and we had to call the front desk to get it fixed. While they were in the room they could hear the loud party going on next door, and in the hall, and said later that night (it was already after 9pm) that if they were still that loud to let them know. They didn\'t want to deal with the loud kids drinking next door, and never did anything about it. I then find out they double charged me for my room. I called 20 times before someone would finally answer the phone. John tried to inform me the $120 charge was for incidentals and would drop off. When I explained to him that I can see the incidental charge on my card, and this was a separate charge. He kept trying to convince me it was for incidentals and then proceeded to get really nasty and told me he\'d have a manager call me. I heard nothing for two days. . .I repeat calling 20 times before anyone answers the phone. The nice gentlemen who answered the phone said that even though I paid for the room in advance months ahead of time that they were charging me for a night and to take it up with the 3rd party we booked the room with, and that he would also have "supervisor" call me. No one has ever called. So I paid twice for a room so I could listen to kids drinking and partying late at night. Think twice before you book this hotel. We will never stay there again, and would advise anyone else against it as well.

I have stayed here several time over the past four years. It’s seems customer service has gone quite a bit. The past stay when I walked into the lobby the employee was sitting down in the lounge area on her phone, didn’t greet me, I had to go to her for service. Then she had an attitude while helping me. This the 2nd time with 2 different employees this has happened. Management needs to do staff training to ensure they have good customer service.

Had a wonderful time at the Hotel Weyanoke! From the moment we walked in the front door and were greeted with a warm welcome and a huge smile to the moment that we checked out, we felt welcomed and cared for. You're more than just another person staying at a hotel, You're treated like an actual guest. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Restaurants were convenient, served delicious food and the staff were wonderful!

The property itself was very lovely and the rooms were updated with a really cool decor. But please.. don’t stay on a Friday or Saturday if you want to sleep. There is a club right next door and our rooms was the closest. They didn’t warn us or give us ear plugs. I can usually sleep .. but that bass kept going until 1:30 AM. I couldn’t sleep. This is apparently an ongoing problem and unless they could guarantee a room on the other side of the building from The Press Club. I would not stay here again. I would have greatly appreciated a heads up or some compensation. They know this is an issue and haven’t been able to do much.

Hotel Weyanoke is a beautiful, historic hotel. The staff was friendly and check in was quick and easy. Our room was large, spacious, and nicely updated as was the bathroom. Longwood campus is right across the street and the downtown area just a short walk.

The hotel was nice and staff friendly, but a nightclub next door blasted music from 10:00 PM to 2 AM. It was so loud our windows were shaking. We were not able to sleep. I would not stay at this property again based on the noise of the nightclub next door. It is a pricey hotel, I expect to be able to get a good night's sleep.

Such a cute place and located right at the edge of Longwood University. The bathroom was huge and gorgeous, beds were comfy. Tons of great restaurants and shops are within walking distance. We also enjoyed the basement bar-great service by Sally and yummy Brussels sprouts.

Very nice hotel with clean rooms and comfy beds. Convenient location to restaurants and the High Bridge trail. My only complaint was that the hotel charged over $18 in additional fees than the price quoted on hotels.com. I likely would not have booked this hotel if I had known this. Also did not realize when I booked that breakfast was not included.

Awesome property. We enjoyed our stay. We also enjoyed the food in the basement-Brussel sprouts and bread were bomb. Also enjoyed a few cocktails on the rooftop bar. We’ll be back when we visit our daughter at Longwood. Thanjs

We will alway choose the Weyanoke when visiting Farmville but were disappointed this stay. The cost for the hotel was double what we normally pay. Because it was a weekend we did NOT get the breakfast that is typically free. They asked $20 per person for breakfast! Again, it has always been free. We tried to check in an hour early and were told no, even though we weren't going to the room, we had bike reservations for HB trail. When we came back in 20 minutes later to use lobby restroom, a woman with a dog was checking in.... I asked if they were now doing checkin and was told, Oh yeah, we can check you in now. Also our tv in our room had two red lines across the picture. Disappointing!

We had an excellent stay. We were nervous because the price was reasonable but we ended up extremely happy once we arrived. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff was accommodating and even better, the restaurant attached to the hotel was great. Usually hotel restaurants are overpriced and not tasty - this one was great dinner.

Dinner at the Taproot Tavern was outstanding as was the view from the rooftop bar. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel was so charming! I felt pampered during my stay and would be excited to stay here again!

When arriving at the hotel, the storm from the previous night had interrupted their service to generate keys for the guests. This caused the staff to have to walk each guest to their room and let them in, and every time you had to leave your room, if you needed access after, you had to wait for a staff member. Upon arriving at 5:45 (checkin was at 4:00) my room was not ready. They had the papers printed out of what rooms need to be ready, so you would think they would at least have the rooms cleaned and ready regardless if the keys worked or not. So instead of arriving after checkin started, my room was not ready. I waited in the lobby for an hour and a half and still nothing. By the time they had the room ready, we went upstairs, with a staff member to let me in, and the room was not ready at all. Had not been cleaned or bed remade. So back down we went. I finally said, I am going to go to dinner instead of waiting and hopefully it will be ready when I get back. I returned around 8:00 - 4 hours after checkin - and after talking with another staff member, they decided to put me in a different room. No key card so I just stayed in. Finally got the key card at 6:00pm the second night. I have stayed here before and no issues but this was horrible customer service. No compensation for the delay in checkin, just 15% off our breakfast place that used to be complimentary but now is not... but nothing else. Just "sorry". Unfortunately, I will probably not be staying here again.
