Stonehouse Court Hotel - A Bespoke Hotel

We liked the hotel but needs to have an elevator or bell services. Not acceptable if you can't carry your luggage up multiple flights of stairs. The canal and the church next door were wonderful.

Stayed for work purposes. Lady on front desk who works split shifts and every department it would seem was fabulous and credit to hotel. Conference area great. Rooms a little tired - otherwise nice place. Food was excellent

This was a remarkable historic place to stay with so much architectural character in the old building. Just sitting in the bar having a drink by the huge historic fireplace was a wonderful experience! The grounds, walk to the canal and adjacent church were equally amazing. We also had a lovely dinner and breakfast but the building itself and grounds was a highlight of our 2 week visit to the Cotswolds!

Lovely stay at Stonehouse. Was great to sit out the back and have a drink and we had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay near the cottswalds.

First of all it looks amazing from out side, front and back. The inside doesn't dissapoint either. The bedrooms on the other hand are in the newer style annex but to a good standard. We had a campervan which was easy to park in the big carpark at the front.

Beautiful old building, grounds, canal access,great views & very friendly, cheerful staff, although at times clearly under pressure. Very good breakfast on both mornings. Accessible & good hot shower, comfortable beds. Negatives: We were in the family room, this involved going down & up 2 flights of stairs, with a very curious & dangerous configuration of steps at the top of the first flight, where you could not have both feet at the same level. However we found we could avoid this bit altogether, by going out through the front door, to access the second up flight. Then down 2 further flights of stairs, motion sensitive lighting not v good in bright daylight & difficult to see room number on arrival. We had known there would be a lot of stairs. Room had a couple of things which were disappointing, but were immediately addressed by the staff. We did not mention the lack of natural light, the small window is opposite a brick wall, or the v. peculiar smell, which permeated our clothing, as the staff would not be able to do anything about this. The room is not suitable for early or light sleepers, as it must be under a corridor, as quite sustained marching back & forth over the ceiling & opening of doors,early & late. All a bit disappointing as we were really looking forward to the stay. I would definitely not recommend the room for anyone with mobility problems or impaired vision.

Loved the Tudor building and history. Loved the gardens and how you can walk straight on to the canal walk .

Check-in was not great and the bar area is very small. Over priced for what it is.

Beautiful building and a lovely patio with tables and chairs and beautiful gardens with easy access to the footpath by the canal. There is a nice sitting room with a bar by the entrance. My room was quiet and clean, the bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water for a bath. The only things that weren’t so great: my room was quite dark and the wifi didn’t work at all throughout my stay.

Parts of hotel were closed for refurbishment. Had dinner - but appeared as the restaurant was closed, and were shown to the hotel lounge/library Food was below average- with the burger brioche bun served burnt /black! Despite complaint was charged full price and service charge which was automatically added to final bill but was removed when challenged Of note - we were the only people eating!! Poor experience and poor value

Was lovely old building, very relaxed. Near the canal. Tea and coffee in room. Very clean and comfortable

Stayed for a wedding and when booking online the price went up when paying on the day. The room was tiny, bed is only a double, certainly not big enough for 2 normal sized adults. The bathroom cleanliness wasn’t great, the shower leaked all over the floor. The bedroom windows were huge and opened into what is already a cramped room, so no room to move. The breakfast wasn’t great and for the price of £180 a night I was expecting a lot more.

Bad case of Mildew and damp rooms. Staff friendly but untrained. Would not recommend or return

The building is in need of renovation. The room was small with little windows not giving enough light. There were no instructions in the room. Decor and furniture were dull and on the whole I felt it was overpriced. The staff were pleasant.

Generally a nice hotel, with what would be a nice atmosphere. I think I was unlucky to book on the same night as quite a large Xmas party which over stretched the staff. When I got to the room, it was clean, however the bathroom needs a bit of a revamp, the hot tap was loose, shower had no temp gauge and was very inconsistent with the temperature. Breakfast was very nice, and the morning staff had things a bit more under control. Nice early start on the breakfast which was appreciated for a business trip.

There was no on/off switch for the bathroom. When I called reception (about 9:30pm when we checked in) there was no answer. Breakfast was good and room tidy and well ventilated. Overall nice style older hotel with character.

Service was slow. Some of the presentation was tatty.

Beautiful clean friendly hotel. Staff were very good. My radiator was on hot all night & with being on the ground floor i was unable to leave window open. Tv did not work, breakfast was not hot as it wasa buffet could do with having covers over to keep warm Having said that i would stay there again

The rooms are clean and I would stay again. I like the backyard, and bar area is comfortable to hang out and have a pint. Overall I enjoyed my stay. The only complaint I have is the water pressure in the shower. The showers hardly function and need attention.

We stayed two nights Couldn’t fault the staff for friendliness or help but the room was tired and the shower came out over the edge of the cubicle so had to be mopped up with towels constantly The bed was very hard It really wasn’t as nice as the premier inn we stayed at the weekend before The breakfast was not good either and very unorganised .. no hot plates no mushrooms and no advice given when we arrived as to order the eggs you wanted Prefer a breakfast served and the toast had to be put through twice

We used different map apps like Google Maps, Waze, car maps and all were taking us to a red light and saying arrived. When in fact the hotel was before the red light. The hotel once we arrived was beautiful outside. Had dinner reservations for 8 people at the hotel for 8pm. It took 2hrs before our meals were brought out. Then everyones meal was way over cooked and cost a small fortune. Rooms were a nice size but windows only opened a 1” or 2” inward so room was very hot. Even with the 2 very small fans they provide. Then on a few occasions there was no one at the reception desk so you are wondering around the hotel to find someone to help you. Overall I wouldn’t recommend it.

Comfortable room, courteous staff, but slightly old in places

We were in room 25, due to the walkway on the floor above us, this was a noisy room. Usually late at night or early in the morning when guests were mobile.

We wouldn’t return here. We stayed one night for a wedding and check in on Saturday went well. The outside of the building and the grounds were lovely. The accommodation section is not in keeping with the main hotel. The bed was rock hard so a very uncomfortable nights sleep. It was also warm with no air con or fan in the room. Breakfast was a disaster. We waited 15 minutes just to be seated, with several young staff stood around and only one older lady actually seating and taking orders. When asked, the young waiting staff had no idea about gluten free options. I ordered the GF full English which arrived without the sausages and toast. The waiter went to see where they had got to and returned a short while later with these items. The bread was stale and the sausages were still raw - stone cold and completely raw in the middle. The bacon, eggs and hash brown were all barely cooked and the baked beans had been sat under a hot plate so long the sauce had gone hard on the top. They clearly couldn’t cope with a full capacity of guests. We left without finishing and other guests left before their food even arrived. At £25 a head for breakfast it was terrible. Do not recommend and would not return

This is a beautiful place. We stayed in the newer section and had our own private patio. The room was well appointed and beyond comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner and both were nice.

The garden level room offers no privacy from people outside. I kept the curtains closed

Breakfast was not great, not much choice at the buffet, and the cooked breakfast was very ordinary. 1 poached egg, 1 sausage... Has rationing been reintroduced?!

Overnight stay, would highly recommend. Exceptionally good value for money. Staff go out of their way to be helpful. Rooms clean and fresh with added touches which even more expensive hotels have stopped providing. Evening meal was great. Breakfast could have done with more than one server, food not topped up sufficiently quickly, but would still give 10/10

Lovely hotel in a lovely location but the heating in my room broke down when it was -2 outside. The hotel suggested I complain on the booking agent app to allow them to compensate me.

Lovely building but everything has been cut to the bone with only the bare minimum provided. a) In short lack of heating, the radiator in the bedroom was less than luke warm (we asked and were told it was on a timer!) b) lack of staff - one person it appeared had been designated on a Friday night to do reception, bar and serve drinks in the restaurant - which resulted in a lack of proper service being available c. a very annoying background intermittent humming noise in the room during the night (which we think my have been caused by the fridge in the room). Not impressed.

The hotel was lovely. A warm welcome. All the staff are so nice. A very enjoyable stay. We will be going back again

Great hotel, very friendly staff and great food. First time at this hotel and will use it again. Just off the M5 motorway.

Absolutely stunning place and location highly recommend and the evening food was excellent, bit disappointing breakfast would liked to have a choice of eggs as the scrambled eggs were not good , other than that I really enjoyed my stay will definitely be back

Stonehouse court hotel is a great place to stay. Keep in mind it’s an old building despite the new building it is still damp. Breakfast is amazing, however evening dinner is sometimes hit and miss. Menu is expensive for the quality of the food.

Hotel was okay but food very expensive and not very good quality for the money

Nice stay, but at breakfast not all the items were available. The waitress said the items had been ordered, but nothing materialised by the time we finished, which was a good half an hour. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.
