Super 8 by Wyndham Sulphur

I’m disabled and reserved a king smoking room downstairs because of my disability. I’m unable to get my walker up stairs and I have a SEVERE fear of heights. When we got there to check in i was informed that the only smoking rooms are upstairs. The clerk said the only thing I could do was to upgrade to a downstairs room ($47). Got in the room and the AC didn’t work. Clerk came down and finally got it working. I had called ahead of time to seee about a coffee pot. I was told there was one but there wasn’t. Fortunately I had brought mine from home. Stains on the chairs. Had issues getting a receipt when checking out.Will not be using this hotel again. I will be making reservations in the future through the actual hotel and not on Expedia or Hotels.com. I’ve had nothing but trouble with my last 4 booking attempts.

This property has no elevator and very steep stairs. It has been recently remodeled and painted. The entry doors have very steep inclines to enter the building. Traffic noise is a factor, and there was a security light just to the right of our window. They had covered the window with a dark film, which puts off a purple glow in the night. If you can find anything else, I would stay there and not at this hotel.

The room seem to have been recently redone and were okay. The bathroom layout and lighting is horrible. The AC/Heater did not work the entire time I was there and couldn't find anyone on site to talk to. The emergency doors at each end were "closed" and wired to the wall which was mildly disconcerting. If you are going to stay in Sulphur pay the extra $10 - $15 and stay at the Artesian.

i can block the bottom of a door that has a 2 to 3" gap but i can not block the entire door....you could see light thru all sides of door....knda sad cause you know if you can see that all noise is gonna come thru......also disapointed in no elevator....we could make do if stairway had rails on both sides but when only one side has rails and your son only has 1 functioning arm it makes it real difficult to get down the stairs.

It’s under refurbishing condition. The entryway is very nice. The bathroom was not good. No stopper for tub or any way to hold the water. If you choose to use the shower you will not have any water pressure. Breakfast was terrible. Very little choice and no one to help. Microwave did not work. I don’t think I will go back there.

He had me give him my credit card to hold a $50 deposit despite my already being paid in full. I asked for a bottom floor, because there was no elevator. He said I should have done that before booking it. I asked to see the room. He took me there. I asked if he had problems with bugs. He said no but would not let me look at the mattress. He said if I didnt like it I could leave and give a bad review. The handle on the shower fell off. I reported it, and he told me that would not be fixed over the weekend. I asked for another room when another guest told me they were checking out. He said that took time. I tried to use the tv remote and it would only move from channel to channel. I asked about the guide and a list, he said that people come in and mess his remotes up. The towels were frayed and torn. The breakfast was dismal. I was disappointed that it was a Super 8 or Wyndham franchise, however, the lady that cleaned the room did an excellent job.

first off this is a family trip with our kids, after we checked in we received our door key went and parked to unload when going into the door you dont even need a key the door stays unlocked and anybody can come and go. Not safe with children. when we got into our room it was nasty the walls and base boards had ashes and dirt all over them, the blankets had cigarette holes in them the whole building smelled like smoke, big holes under the doors. this place was gross and we will never stay there again.

The ice machine was out of order, as well as the vending machines. We had to buy ice at a convenience store. We had booked a room that sleeps five even though there was only four of us. We expected a sleeper sofa because we had two grand children, teenage boy and girl. Only got two queen beds. Not enough towels. No elevator and had a second floor room. Stairs were horrible, 8” treads, 6” risers, not to code. Breakfast was marginal. Ruined our trip to a beautiful part of Oklahoma.

The room was comfortable and clean but the hotel is being remodeled so there were some things unavailable. Back door had no locking mechanism. Breakfast was very spartan- cold cereal, toast, muffins and coffee only. I think the hotel will be much more accomodating when finished.

Beware, this is the “better” hotel in town and it’s subpar at best. There are smoking and non smoking room (I guess they still do that) and Orbitz defaulted to a smoking room for my family. Cigarette smoke, dirty bedding, a refrigerator that leaked water throughout the room and soaked our suitcases, loud (big) dogs barking throughout the night, and no elevator (with a second floor room and a wife with a leg injury). The staff seemed to know about all this but were apathetic. Because it was late, we stayed the night and left the next day. Oh, and breakfast was a just a waffle maker and some the the most pathetic coffee - it looked like tea. We joked it was coffee flavored water. Bonus, when we got home from a Labor Day weekend trip cut short, all of our clothes smelled like cigarette smoke to give us memories of a horrible night in Sulphur.

Smell was horrible bugs in the rooms stains on the bedding. Would give a 0 if I could

The sheets were stained yellow the room was so hot and smelt so bad, they had no coffee, you could open the bathroom door all the way because the toilet was in the way and they didn’t allow you to take your breakfast back to your room

Property is easy to find. Our room was very clean. Beds were comfortable.

The bedding was stained. Holes in some towels. Not much of a breakfast. Photos of property are very misleading. Bugs in my daughter’s room and when she told them about it they said we don’t have bug or another room so you can leave if you want. Poor customer service!!!

When we arrived we had paid thru expedia due to them not being able to see our credit card information he required a $100 deposit. I had 2 other sets of cousins staying in this hotel for a wedding they charged 1 the fee and the other didn't have a fee. They only had stairs to the second floor. Got in the room and the bed had a visible stain on it looked bleached out when pulling back the 2nd blanket had food like on it, the second bed smelled of urine, the picture above bed was like a head board of city scape on it and someone had left fake eye lashes on it and the refrigerator gasket around had bugs and left over crumbs. Went back to front desk the staff was very rude stated only had a king bed available looked at room it wasn't worth it. Requested room to be cleaned the staff came in barefoot and spoke in a different language had to go back and forth getting supplies forgot to clean off lashed returned to room 4 times to fix what I had complained of. I just stayed in a different hotel defiantly a horrible mistake since I had just returned from South Carolina the pictures posted on google is not what you see when you enter and upstairs is where the staff lives you smell curry very strong in hall ways.

The sheets and courtains had cigarette burns , found loose hairs on the bed !! The experience was mediocre at best .

I stay was pretty good. Room was very clean. We could tell they have updated the interior of the lobby and other arrears. Manager was helpful and curtious.

Nice and clean. We reserved a non smoking room and it was very nice and updated. Wood laminate floors, big mini fridge, flat screen tv, marble floors in the entry way of the Lobby with soothing music playing. Continental breakfast was cereal, GREAT Coffee, muffins, toast & juice. Zero foul odors in room 104. LONG HOT SHOWERS. Blocks from Walmart and next door to an outstanding Mexican Restaurant-San Pedro’s. Staff was very kind and happy to help. Would def stay here again.

It was extremely awful!!!! At 12:30am went to the front desk about the noise coming from the room next to us. I found later that morning he did nothing! I finally had enough at 2:00am and knocked on the door of the noisy room. They claimed to be sorry for the noise and said they would stop. However, at 3:00am I went to try and change rooms. I never could get any back to the front counter for help. We never got any sleep until around 10:00am in our vehicle trying to make it home. The counter help wanted to give us a refund, but said he had to get it from Hotels.com. Also, the entire hotel smelled of marijuana!!

The property smelled of weed and cigarettes. This was my 2nd stay here. Both times the coffee maker in my room was broken.

Staff friendly. Lots of highway noise all night

The bathroom was gross. The tub fixtures were falling off the wall.

The renovations were nice, but our toilet was not secured properly so it wiggled a lot when you sat down. Breakfast area was small and the offerings were limited.

The hotel is updated and modern and room was clean and nice. Only drawback was that walls are very thin. We were on the first floor and were woken up very early by the sounds of people upstairs.

This is an older building that has been fully updated, & remolded. It gives this hotel kind of an eclectic vibe. This the first time I've stayed here & I would return the next time I am in Sulfur.

The refridge did not work. Staff was not pleasant when i checked in. Breakfast was minimal with no waffles or fruit. Gluten free or keto options were nil. The desk chair was ripped and you did not dare lean back in it or would be on the floor. At least the beds were nice and it was clean.

The lady at the front desk was soo nice. She noticed that I was alone so she put me in a room close to the office. I will stay there if I'm back in the area and need a room.

Family get away with mom to Turner Falls. Had a nice stay. Clean and comfortable..Better than I expected for the price. Well located too.

Delighted to find very clean and comfortable, updated, conveniently located motel in Sulphur, OK. I went alone for a graduation but felt safe. Enjoyed soothing, quiet music and warm welcome upon arrival and even returned the next night when my schedule kept me in the area longer than I expected. I will gladly return for more stays--especially if they get the TV to work! MariLyn B-K

They have done updates to the lobby which is a nice touch. Restaurants are within walking distance.

Extremely noisey! 2:30am and 6am get woken up to the sound of people opening/closing the doors to their rooms and talking in the hallway. (And they weren't being loud! It was just that this place carries noise that easily!) Breakfast was a joke! Nothing but cereal and muffins. The only reason I'm not demanding a refund is the bed was at least comfortable and the linens were clean. But, for the money we paid for this place, very disappointed!

This was the worst experience in any type of motel anywhere that I have ever experienced. Woman checking me in did not mention there was no water and no indication of when it would be restored - until after charging my credit card and handing me the key. That meant NO FLUSHING TOILETS (so the room stank) OR DRINKING WATER ALL NIGHT AND NOWHERE ELSE TO GO SINCE MOST OTHER CUSTOMERS HAD ALREADY FOUND OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS. MOD was completely unhelpful and refused to refund or call a superior about getting my money back or relocating us. Breakfast was supposed to be until 9, but door was locked and would not open with key at 8:45. Only coffee was in room made with melted ice from a drink I’d saved from dinner. I was terrified to drink water when it was finally restored. And, despite motel being mostly empty they put someone just above our room who stomped around making noise until 11pm. I will not stay at another Super 8. I’ve traveled the world, and this was more disgusting than any experience anywhere.
