The room was cozy, clean, and quiet. The bed, pillow, and linens were soft and very comfortable. The staff were friendly. The only negative about the hotel is the lack of dedicated parking lot. Since the private parking lot next door had no in and out privileges and closes at 10PM, we had to park and walk a couple of blocks way from the hotel to park our car at night.

Very cute hotel. Rooms are very nice, and the staff was very friendly. The parking is conveniently nect door, but expensive. Paid $55 for overnight for each car. Had 2. Would be nice if the hotel had a cheaper rate.

This is a wonderful period correct boutique hotel. With an excellent restaurant attached to it. The room was very clean, very comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. While the elevator was a bit slow, it seemed to be fitting of a period hotel situated, ideally, in the old section of Philadelphia, with convenient walking distance access to Penn's Landing, the ferry to New Jersey and many of the cultural and historic attractions in that part of the city

It’s not every night you stay in a 200 year old hotel, but Penn’s View is just that. It’s housed in a former warehouse right next to Penn’s Landing. The property is within walking distance of many of the old town attractions, including the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. There’s a restaurant on site, but not much else. You’re not going to find a pool or a state of the art fitness center in a 200 year old building. The room I had was comfortable and very clean though it had a view of a parking lot. The bathroom was large and modern with a nice marble shower.

This is the hidden gem that you want to keep to yourself, but you just cant. It has everything, charm, cleanliness, convenient parking (add'l fee) and walkable to ferry. Although please note, there is a lot of roadwork that has easily tripled the walk to ferry. The Panaorama restaurant is attached and serves wonderful Italian Food. You also get a 25%off coupon for staying and dining there. It is our go to spot for concerts at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion. It is what i consider a boutique hotel. Very clean and staff is top notch.

First of all, the property was beautiful. The staff were all very nice. There was no mention of not having a parking lot for the hotel. There was a parking lot next to the hotel. We checked in and was in the room for just over an hour and was charged $20 to get out of the lot. Then was charged $35 when we checked out the next morning. Seems excessive to have to pay $20 every time we would want to leave the lot, even though we were staying the night. The room was beautifully decorated. However, there was an overwhelming smell of moth balls. It was difficult to sleep with that smell and everything I ate or drank tasted like moth balls. My son used the pull out couch. When I pulled it out the sheet was on top of the blanket, which leads me to believe it had not been changed after the last guest. When I pulled down the blankets to get in bed, there was hair on the sheets. The vending machine was all out of drinks and only had 5 options for snacks…..I was happy to have had nice staff and a beautiful setting, but the smell of moth balls all night and the fact that I slept on top of the bed because of the hair in the bed I was a bit cold…

Computer systems were totally down when we arrived, staff was friendly and room was clean, but older and the bathroom smelled so strongly of bleach that it hurt my eyes, but at least I knew it was clean. We ate at the restaurant and the food was good but service was incredibly slow.

Our stay at the Penns View was Excellent! Very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was very friendly and helpful from check in and housekeeping through to the bar and service staff in their outstanding adjoining restaurant Panorama. The location for walkability to the historic area and views of the river topped off our stay.

Service is friendly and efficient without being effusive or overbearing. Rooms are simple but elegant. Facilities are spotless. And the wine bar in the hotel restaurant sets the standard by which all wine bars should be judged!

Great authentic hotel. Ask for a room at the back as traffic noise from I95 is constant at the front. No breakfast. Comfy room with great shower and whirlpool bath. Bins for recycling would be helpful.

First, I paid for a room with a Queen-sized bed. Instead, I was given a room with a smaller, standard-sized double bed. Second, this property is in need of upgrade. For example, the room air conditioner had two settings. "Off". . . which rendered the room hot and stuffy. "On". . . which rendered to room shiveringly frigid. The cold air blew forcefully onto the bed making it hard to sleep.

This is a historic hotel in the waterfront district with loads of old charm. The rooms are simple, but clean and spacious, especially for a city hotel. I really liked the hardwood floors. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were nice and fluffy. There are lots of little coffee shops and restaurants nearby. We really liked Cuor di Caffe - excellent coffee and bites. This hotel is walkable to many of the major Philly sites and is walkable to public transportation. We enjoyed our weekend stay very much.

We stayed in the river view king room with patio and I loved it. Sitting out on the patio looking at the river was so peaceful. The room was so cute! It was cozy and comfortable with the fireplace and jacuzzi tub. My only complaint is, I did take advantage of the tub while there and one of the jets kept popping off. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and definitely will be returning.

Room was okay. Very dated. No safe and no small refrigerator. The sheets were clean but older and somewhat discolored. Bathroom was good and room temperature was comfortable. The coffee and muffins in the lobby was a nice touch. There was a lot of construction in the general area of hotel at this time.

Loved this hotel. Spacious and charmingly decorated. Restaurant in the hotel was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! Couldn’t decide so I got the scallops and then eggplant parmigiana. Wow! Outstanding!! The only thing I wish is that they had blackout curtains over the window. There were beautiful shutters on my window, but the hallway light was a spotlight outside of that window all night, throwing a lot of light into the room. I would not hesitate to stay here again. And hope to be back for another meal!

The rooms are charming, as is the hotel, with fantastic service. The staff are friendly and very helpful. My only issue is that the rooms are sometimes missing a few necessary things, such as. Curtains to help with keeping out light as blinds are not enough. A in room coffee maker, for those of us that get up early. Aside from those I really enjoy the hotel.

Broke the contract, charged two days before arrival, and gave away the room before we arrived. Front desk was rude and unapologetic. Worst staff, and blamed breaking the contract on internal policy.

Antonio and the front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. I have a severe allergy, so I had to call beforehand and they were able to answer all of my questions. After checking out, they let me leave my luggage as I had meetings to attend. I’ll definitely stay at Penn’s View when I’m back in Philly.

The staff was absolutely amazing!!! Rooms were clean and historically beautiful. Preserving the history is something they are doing a fantastic job at while keeping it modern enough to be comfortable all the way around. I will recommend this place over and over again. Convenient location and food in the hotel was amazing. I just can’t say enough how much I enjoyed my stay here. The staff all need raises. They went above and beyond. Thank you!!

The staff were really helpful and really kind checking in was super simple the man at the front desk well spoken and kind to all. I really enjoyed my stay, especially with the room view. I hope to come back again the restaurant downstairs is also pretty damn good and they really are generous with the wine also the location of the hotel itself is really good in walking distance and each direction. There’s coffee shops, tourist stops, places to eat and drink a bus stop down the road and super simple for Uber to find location when I come back to Philly I plan on staying in the same spot. I don’t usually leave good reviews but man this place was great. Also the cleaning service the lady is super sweet thank you to all the staff members. I hope to visit again soon

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Property abuts route 95 so can be very noisy. We had a room with no view of the street but was very quiet. Area very walkable to all the historic sites (Liberty Bell, Ben Franklin Museum, Constitution Center, Betty Ross house, etc). Subway within walking distance.

The hotel is old and small. The lobby is quite small. There is only one elevator. Room keys are actual keys. If you keep the age in mind, it has charm. The staff is excellent and the restaurant and bar are surprisingly good. It is not in the best of neighborhoods and the traffic noises can be bothersome. The neighborhood shows signs of improvement. Some of the architecture is lovely. Bathrooms are not easy for anyone with mobility issues.

It’s not every night you stay in a 200 year old hotel, but Penn’s View is just that. It’s housed in a former warehouse right next to Penn’s Landing. The property is within walking distance of many of the old town attractions, including the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. There’s a restaurant on site, but not much else. You’re not going to find a pool or a state of the art fitness center in a 200 year old building. The room I had was comfortable and very clean though it had a view of a parking lot. The bathroom was large and modern with a nice marble shower.

Really loved our stay at Penn's View Hotel. Amazing to stay in the historic neighborhood that is an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go in Philly, including all forms of public transit. The room was roomy and exceptionally clean. The staff were wonderfully helpful. Will stay here again.

I like this Boutique Hotel instead of the typical chain hotels. Was close to walk to a lot of the historical sites. Staff are friendly. The only negative is that it is beside Interstate 95 which is noisy. My room's window/door faced towards I-95. After the second night I didn't to notice the noise as much.

Rooms were very large and open. Room very updated even though hotel is very old. Staff very good. No breakfast, however good muffins and coffee in lobby. Nice view from room of River, close walk to subway, bus and old town. Good A/C which was needed in 103 degree heat outside.

Loved the property and the front desk staff! The restaurant was lacking. Food took forever and it was a prefix menu so that never should have happened. Portions were terrible and we had two steaks ordered one was under and the other over cooked?? Salmon was fatty!! Great location for New Years fireworks but not worth the money for food. 288 for two!!!!yicks

The accomodations were fine but the facilities were dated, and the amenities were lacking. Small details that make impact were missing. Coffee quality was not good. Water was served in the lobby with shot glass size cups. Nothing egregious but nothing exceptional.

Our stay at the Penns View was Excellent! Very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was very friendly and helpful from check in and housekeeping through to the bar and service staff in their outstanding adjoining restaurant Panorama. The location for walkability to the historic area and views of the river topped off our stay.

The coffee bar in the morning is a joke, so we had to walk to get our tea and coffee. The hotel employees were very kind and considerate except in the restaurant where the server was shocked my partner and I only wanted to share appetizers and not have any wine or alcoholic beverages.

We loved the location and ambiance of the Penn’s View given the focus of our trip was Old City, Philadelphia. The front desk and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and supplied with commonly expected amenities and bathroom products. We especially appreciated that we could stay parked (in lot next to hotel) and walk everywhere during our 3 night stay. We cannot comment on the restaurant or bar since we didn’t use these areas. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
