Howard Arms is an inn, but it's also a restaurant. Once we arrived and settled into our room, it was very easy to go back downstairs and have dinner. They are VERY dog friendly, and we loved the cat that sat on the stairs, enjoying attention from everyone. We were able to park our car right near the front door which made it easy to unload our luggage.

The ambiance was perfect and very helpful, friendly staff. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Great pub and food. The location was easily accessible by taxi off Hadrian's Wall Path. Too far to walk to after many miles of hiking from Twice-Brewed Inn. We would have liked to have spent another day in Brampton, but we had to move on.

Great food and drink at the pub and decently comfortable rooms. The place is dog friendly so there were occasionally dog odors but they clearly work hard to minimize them. Would recommend. My only complaint is that I personally didn’t like the air freshener used in the bathroom but I survived ;).

The rooms are very modern and clean, the food is great and the Howard Arms was our favorite place we stayed on our trip. Parking is available behind the hotel, but it is on a different road, so make sure you go to the right lot. We had both dinner and breakfast there and it was fantastic.

Room was tired. Furniture was chipped . Signs of mould in shower. Wallpaper was damaged in several places. Sound insulation between rooms not good at all.(could hear every step from room above as well as conversation)

The staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent and served quickly. Rooms were clean and tidy with tea coffee facilities, very welcome. The hot water wasn't very hot late at night and early morning but nice once it was hot.

This is I believe the premier hotel in Brampton. It is clean, well maintained and comfortable. It has a lot of atmosphere and history. I liked the Dickens touch. The staff were friendly and helpful. The big black mark was that we were locked out, something which has never happened to me before in a hotel. Three of us returned at 11 pm to find all the doors locked and nobody responding to knocks or telephone calls. We eventually had to climb in through the window. The only alternative would have been to sleep on the street. In fairness the staff were apologetic next morning and told us that in the normal course of events, had they been told we were going out, they would’ve given us means of access. Nobody asked whether we were going out. And it should not have been necessary. I hope following this feedback they will change their arrangements

Trip was to see family. During the trip one of was unwell (nothing al all to do with the Hotel). All the staff at the Howard Arms could not have been more helpful. They put themselves out to help and assist.

Wonderful staff, pleasant, helpful and attentive. Restaurant was terrific. Room was clean, comfortable.

The rooms are very modern and clean, the food is great and the Howard Arms was our favorite place we stayed on our trip. Parking is available behind the hotel, but it is on a different road, so make sure you go to the right lot. We had both dinner and breakfast there and it was fantastic.

Lovely hotel, downstairs restaurant/ pub was buzzing, even on a Monday. Food was excellent and staff were very attentive and helpful, recommend this hotel

Wonderful 2 night stay with a friend! The staff were really welcoming, efficient & friendly. The room was spacious & beautifully decorated with a modern clean bathroom & lovely toiletries. Great menu with delicious food, for both the dinner & breakfast. Great value for money & highly recommended. Thank you

Got there at 8:15pm booked in and got shown to our rooms, once we put our stuff down we went down stairs to get a drink and order some food, we ordered our drink and asked for menus, we were told it had been too busy and we couldn’t get food. After a moan they apologised and brought us menus we ordered for a chicken burger and two steak pies. After an hour to food came out the chicken in the burger was dry but edible, the same can’t be said for the pies both pies smelt horrible once opened and the filling was burnt horribly, it was disgusting. Of course the staff apologised and offered more food but by now it was 9:45 and we were over it. The floors and walls are very thin and you can clearly hear conversations from the next rooms and the rooms above need military grade underlay as a stompy patron woke me up at 5:30 in the morning from the room above. Over all would not return or recommend. Breakfast was fine, fried eggs overcooked.

Room was clean and very comfortable although no bottled water supplied although tea and coffee in room. Staff very attentive and friendly. Evening meals were excellent although breakfast not so great on the first morning. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
