As many have said, its a great place to lay your head. We were only there for one night because of a sold out show at the Fillmore. Staff was above average. We wished upon arrival that the pool was open but by the look of it we were better off.

Room was large, clean and updated and had all the expected amenities. People working there were friendly. Location was convenient just off I-85. The only negative was that the entrance was always locked and the key card never worked to get in. No one stayed at the front desk and I had to bang loudly and yell to get someone to open the door. If the door is locked for safety, how safe is it that guests can't get in?

The property is located in one of the most unsafe parts of Charlotte. Even the property owners themselves recognize this as they make sure check in is done through a small hallway where the staff remains behind protective glass and you can only gain access once you have a key. The hotel has 2 floors but the owner(s) thought it best to cut costs by not including elevators. The 1st room I was given smelled of urine, then the door would not close behind me. The 2nd room smelled better, but the sink in the bathroom was clogged with water draining out ever so slowly, the space behind the door in the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned for a long time, the drain in the bathtub has something in it, the fridge had brown liquid spilled through all the shelves and all the way to the bottom, the fridge also leaked water continuously. This is a terrible Red Roof Inn franchise! I’d recommend out of town folks to avoid it! There are better hotels at around the same cost.

The reason I booked was because of the heat and the swimming pool. The swimming pool was green and closed. As well the gym was advertised and it was closed. In addition the breakfast no longer offered could not even get coffee

The TV never worked. There were zero amenities. The reception area was completely bare. The pool was closed. The gym was closed. The staff barely spoke English. The keys were tricky. There was actually a used soap in the shower. Never, never, never, never again. And that's being nice.

We checked in , went to our room. The room was very hot and stuffy. We waited for an hour after adjusting the thermostat to 72°F. We turned on tge TV and we didn't have a internet connection or TV channels. We had to use our own streaming service from our account at our home to watch tv in our room. We were still hot and uncomfortable in our room. We called front desk for assistance with the AC. A gentleman from the front desk came to our room to reset the AC. We waited another 30 minutes for the temperature to get cooler, never happened... We were transfered to another room per my request, the handicapped room was cool and the AC worked. The TV did not work in our new room and we had to sign in to our home streaming service to watch the TV. Also, very limited front desk personnel, we were stuck in the entrance vestibule waiting to be buzzed in to lobby. I will never stay there again..

Terrible, terrible, terrible from the checkin only 1 person working and there was about 7 others waiting to checkin too and he took about 10-15?mins checking each person in so I had to wait about an hr before I got serviced.Then we had to wait behind a locked door to check in, no lobby with seats so at least we could sit and wait. So now I’m checked in he gives me a that already had guess so I had to go back wait another 20mins for him to fix it. Nothing is up to par gym was closed, pool was closed, they didn’t have breakfast in the morning as stated. The lobby doesn’t even have chairs or tables. You could only enter thru one door and the swipe card didn’t even work for that door so you had to hope someone was at the desk or leaving when you wanted to enter or you had to stand there and wait. I could continue with many more issues as the ac in my room didn’t work either, but imma just say stay somewhere else it’s not worth it. Red Roof Inn should really monitor their locations better worse one I’ve ever stayed at place was just horrible.

Imagine getting dressed in your hotel room and a couple walks in with a huge dog using a key they were just assigned to your room?!?! I can't make this up! I checked in Saturday and in less than 2 hours later, another couple with a dog walks in to my room as I am getting dressed. To say I felt violated and horrified is an understatement. The couple kindly exited but it could have been so much worse. I was in a state of undress and alone at the time. My safety felt compromised and I immediately called the front desk. The woman apologized and hung up on me as I was asking how could that happen and requested new keys. The entire hotel reeked of cigarettes and the hallways of urine. The place is very outdated and all the amenities (pool and gym) that said were available were closed. People walked outside and throughout the hotel without any shoes on, which I thought was disgusting. Between my first night experience, the smells, the trash build up in the hallways, and the service I was ready to check out early from my 2 night stay. I will never return. The only thing I liked was location convenient for where I needed to go.

Pee on the floor when I first checked in and there was roaches. The breakfast is not really breakfast it’s only cereal and milk. The WiFi connection was terrible I could not connect to my PS5 so if you’re a gamer this is not the place to be . It was not clean and had me paranoid of bugs I will not be staying here again

There was a car parked on the side of the front entrance from the moment we arrived to when we left. Not in a parking hole and had trash all around. The room was okay, the bed was clean. The bathroom was not. The shower was gross and so were the floors. The couch in the room was covered in stains. The room smelled weird and the air conditioner didnt work. Also we had a late checkout and were rudley interrupted THREE time's and the last time they didnt even bother to shut the door back all the way.

The rooms were spacious and so clean! The staff were very friendly and were able to address our issues with the TV right away. We felt secure at this location because a room key is required to access the building. This was our first time at a Red Roof Inn and we will definitely be back!

Pros: I liked the thermostat being placed on the wall. However, I don't think I was able to set the precise temperature, nor was I able to see the exact temperature. I was also glad they included a lounge couch. Cons: I think the clerk could have been a little more courteous. But he did get a little more respectful at the last minute for some reason. Tbh, he looked similar to the clerk that checked me in back in April 2020, who was rude. However, this clerk said he was only there for a few years when I asked. I asked because he looked and acted very similar. The mattress was no where near as soft as the average motel I've stayed in. If it were any harder, I would have thought I was sleeping on the boxspring. None of the lampstands had USB ports. Plus the clock was about 10 or 15 minutes slow, which could have caused me to miss check-out by 10 or 15 minutes, if I waited until the last minute to check out, like I usually do. I was in room 118. Right across the hall were these double doors, that were open. I smelled bad mop water coming from there. And we know what bad and dirty mop water smells like. Worst of all, the lack of sleep I got. I constantly heard motel doors slamming through the night. I only got two hours of strait sleep. Some of it could have been because I was right next to the exit. There was a little too much maintenance crew parked near my parking spaces, and near the entrance. Better, if they were security instead.

it was great for the price. The rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. It was clean just not super well kept, there was scotch tape on one of our walls? The bathroom wasn’t the greatest either, the shower curtain didn’t fit the size of the tub and the water drained very slowly. It looks like there could be some potential sketchy activity around the outside of the hotel but it was honestly fine. Close to a few food places & close to the city so it was good for a weekend! Would come back if we’re looking for a cheaper option when we go to charlotte for a few nights!

Overall, I liked this property. The room was clean, roomy, and conveniently located not too far from downtown. The staff was ok. They were not overly friendly but not rude. My biggest complaint was the housekeepers made a lot of noise in the mornings cleaning guests rooms by slamming doors and just being very loud with moving around. The walls were paper thin so I could hear everything.
Overall, I liked this property. The room was clean, roomy, and conveniently located not too far from downtown. The staff was ok. They were not overly friendly but not rude. I could find nothing to complain about. Very efficient and courteous staff. In 60 years of hotels the room was the cleanist I have ever stayed in. Very quiet. Great bed. 100% a great stay at a reasonable price.

Check in was quick and efficient. Guy that checked us in, greeted with a smile and very friendly and helpful. The guy that worked the late evening, possibly night shift on the 22nd ( our 2nd night stay) was rude and completely unhelpful. I guess I interrupted his playtime on his phone with a simple question about possibly extending our stay a couple more nights. He said, their policy is only a 3 night maximum stay. He said it was on the policy printed and placed on desk yet I read the whole entire paper while standing there with him and it never said anything about minimum or maximum nights allowed. He rudely went on to say "without me even asking" people even book rooms through third party's for 5 nights and we don't let them stay but 3 either. I have worked all areas in the hotel industry, under different programs and never heard of a maximum of 3 night stay. I would never speak to a guest the way he spoke to me, even when guest would be extremely rude to me. The way he spoke to me was uncalled for. I wasn't rude to him at anytime, I just asked a simple question and he lashed out on me. The room was extremely clean and very spacious!! It is indoor corridor and the locks on the entrance/ exit doors worked efficiently, so I felt safe. The night shift desk attendant is the only complaint I have. I guess the less guest they have the more time he has to play on his phone

The rooms were spacious and so clean! The staff were very friendly and were able to address our issues with the TV right away. We felt secure at this location because a room key is required to access the building. This was our first time at a Red Roof Inn and we will definitely be back!

The only negative was that the entrance was always locked and the key card never worked to get in. No one stayed at the front desk and I had to bang loudly and yell to get someone to open the door. If the door is locked for safety, how safe is it that guests can't get in?

Terrible, terrible, terrible from the checkin only 1 person working and there was about 7 others waiting to checkin too and he took about 10-15?mins checking each person in so I had to wait about an hr before I got serviced.Then we had to wait behind a locked door to check in, no lobby with seats so at least we could sit and wait. So now I’m checked in he gives me a that already had guess so I had to go back wait another 20mins for him to fix it. Nothing is up to par gym was closed, pool was closed, they didn’t have breakfast in the morning as stated. The lobby doesn’t even have chairs or tables. You could only enter thru one door and the swipe card didn’t even work for that door so you had to hope someone was at the desk or leaving when you wanted to enter or you had to stand there and wait. I could continue with many more issues as the ac in my room didn’t work either, but imma just say stay somewhere else it’s not worth it. Red Roof Inn should really monitor their locations better worse one I’ve ever stayed at place was just horrible.

Imagine getting dressed in your hotel room and a couple walks in with a huge dog using a key they were just assigned to your room?!?! I can't make this up! I checked in Saturday and in less than 2 hours later, another couple with a dog walks in to my room as I am getting dressed. To say I felt violated and horrified is an understatement. The couple kindly exited but it could have been so much worse. I was in a state of undress and alone at the time. My safety felt compromised and I immediately called the front desk. The woman apologized and hung up on me as I was asking how could that happen and requested new keys. The entire hotel reeked of cigarettes and the hallways of urine. The place is very outdated and all the amenities (pool and gym) that said were available were closed. People walked outside and throughout the hotel without any shoes on, which I thought was disgusting. Between my first night experience, the smells, the trash build up in the hallways, and the service I was ready to check out early from my 2 night stay. I will never return. The only thing I liked was location convenient for where I needed to go.

it was great for the price. The rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. It was clean just not super well kept, there was scotch tape on one of our walls? The bathroom wasn’t the greatest either, the shower curtain didn’t fit the size of the tub and the water drained very slowly. It looks like there could be some potential sketchy activity around the outside of the hotel but it was honestly fine. Close to a few food places & close to the city so it was good for a weekend! Would come back if we’re looking for a cheaper option when we go to charlotte for a few nights!

Expedia.com majorly screwed up my reservations for air travel as well as my stay in Charlotte. After confirming my travel arrangements, the site had me listed for another date and time to travel and check in. I was supposed to be staying at The Holiday Inn in Downtown Charlotte!!!! After beign forced to cancel and redo my travel I was stuck with trying to find another place that was equal in price to my initial trip. I chose Red Roof because the photos looked like it was a good place to stay....far from it! It\'s in a bad area of town!! The individual at the from desk was extremely rude to me, gave me a major attitude when I checked in and when I had questions!! The room was okay, but there are ZERO amenities..nothing!! Apparently this is a place that a lot of "individuals" like to come to to party at on Fridays and Saturdays The only personnel that were polite and nice were the day shift workers. The overnight person is/was a total jerk. Be aware that the photos do not tell the real story about this place.

Property was in a very sketchy area. Our room smelled terrible!!! Some super strong colonge that made all of our belonging still smell that way when we got home. Only plus is it’s super cheap. But there is def a reason for that.

Pee on the floor when I first checked in and there was roaches. The breakfast is not really breakfast it’s only cereal and milk. The WiFi connection was terrible I could not connect to my PS5 so if you’re a gamer this is not the place to be . It was not clean and had me paranoid of bugs I will not be staying here again

The reason I booked was because of the heat and the swimming pool. The swimming pool was green and closed. As well the gym was advertised and it was closed. In addition the breakfast no longer offered could not even get coffee

This hotel was less than Ideal. It was clearly a spot that could be rented by the hour. I would not stay here again. The area did not feel safe. The hotel was not clean. I would definitely not sit on the couch. The sink was leaning off the wall. The area was filled with prostitutes and drug addicts. Not a pleasant experience.

Trash and wrappers and food all thrown in the walk way towards your room DOES NOT HAVE A ELEVATOR so don’t pack no more but one bag water leaking by the stair way and in the rooms, smells like dog piss near the rooms saw a few animals inside the building poorly cleaned and behind a sketchy place doors barley lock very unsafe !! would never recommend this place all though the service and employees were friendly but poorly doing the job I work at hotel so I know how it should look cleanliness even with low maintenance cleaning is part of the job you should not have a cover fee to stay in a place like this I will never be coming back .
