This was mine and my husband’s 22nd wedding anniversary celebration and the first time we had been anywhere without our children since they were born. We have stayed at The Inn on the River many times before and they never disappoint. We always request a room with balcony on the riverside. The free delicious continental breakfast is always a blessing because it saves a lot of money we would otherwise have to spend eating out. It is always relaxing to sit out on our balcony and watch the ducks and geese in the river. The room is always very clean and comfortable. A refrigerator and microwave is provided for our convenience. We enjoyed getting in the whirlpool and the indoor pool. There is also a nice outdoor pool but due to health issues I am not supposed to be in the sun if at all possible. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Inn on the River and we are already making plans to return again next year. I would highly recommend The Inn on the River to my friends and family.

Very nice mid range, family owned hotel. Our room and the excellent view were just as advertised. Our room was clean, the A/C cooled exceptionally well with the 105-107deg heat index that was happening. Sparkling wood floors in the hallways, and complimentary popcorn and cookies in the lobby daily. One of the nicer free breakfasts we’ve had. We would definitely stay again. On the downside, the A/C was pretty noisy, and there was only one handicapped parking spot that was near our entrance, but 2-3 EV parking spots that probably should be handicapped as they were right by the door. But again, this hotel was an affordable charmer so don’t let this discourage you!

We had such a great experience at Inn on the River in Pigeon Forge! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome—they were so friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. The entire property was spotless, and our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The location is perfect—right in the center of Pigeon Forge—so we were close to all the attractions, shopping, and dining without having to drive far. The breakfast had a lot of variety, so there was something for everyone, though the flavors were just okay. The only other small thing we noticed was that the hot tub could have been warmer. Neither of these things took away from our stay, though, because everything else was so well done. We truly enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in the area!

Walkable to several places including Starbucks. Lots of ice machines located throughout the Inn. Ample parking behind Inn. Front desk staff was always polite and courteous. Minor inconvenience is that there isn’t a water bottle refill station available other than during breakfast hours.

Great location, wonderful amenities. Indoor as well as outdoor pools; a few pool toys provided which was a nice touch. Hotel rooms were a bit wonky, the higher number rooms are further down the hall and use elevator B. Overall very happy with our stay!

The property was fine. I do wish the pools were 24/7 access for adults. There was also mold in our air conditioner unit. The staff were nice. We only stayed 3 days so we did not see any housekeeping.

Positive: Awesome buffet breakfast, pretty hotel, clean upon arrival, comfortable beds, great location, Beautiful view by river with geese and ducks, Negative: During 5 day stay room not cleaned well, never vacuumed, one day skipped cleaning, pools not clean, could not use indoor pool or spa because of extremely dingy color, outdoor pool only used once as it became very clouded color as well, office desk workers seemed bothered upon request. Only one elevator per building causing you to have to walk a long way to many of the rooms.

Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Staff was really friendly and check in and check out were smooth with no surprises. Love the hot chocolate or apple cider along with a cookie or popcorn while rocking by the outside fire pit or by the fireplace.

This is a very nice place. Great breakfast. It\'s nice the have popcorn and cookies in the evening. Only complaint i have is when you had pur room "cleaned " it wasn’t cleaned. I removed everything from the bathroom and nothing was cleaned. Hair was in the sink and the toilet was still dirty. Not towels were replaced. Other than that everything else was good.

Check in was quick and Kathlynn was very nice. The room was good, a bit dated, but fine. We didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The breakfast was good and there were plenty of choices. Coffee and hot chocolate are available all day. The area around the fire pit was great. We enjoyed sitting here and looking at the river. The geese are very friendly! The bathroom in our room wasn't super clean (mildew on grout in a couple of places) but was sufficient. They had a place for children to play in the lobby area, which was nice. Our four year old really enjoyed this space. I'd stay here again!

What a nice place. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. One minor issue, the privacy card you put on your door fell every time you open the door or got stuck in the door so your door wouldn’t fully shut. Easy fix. We will definitely stay there again.

The staff was great! However… The ice machine was out on our floor. We thought we were getting a river view, but it was not. The beds were terribly uncomfortable. The breakfast, was far from up to par. Instead, there were powdered eggs, no danish, no yogurt, and they needed more space in the dining area.

The river is nice, the rooms are really small and kind of outdated. The A/C in the hallways don’t work it seemed like. If you need something from the front desk you had to go get it. The staff was really nice and welcoming and it’s in a great location.

You can tell it’s an older building but the recent renovation was well done. The hotel was fully booked and we were on the ground floor (parking side) just down from the lobby and it was still quiet at night. No footsteps or running water sounds. We plan to visit again and try one of the river side rooms.

I stayed at The Inn on the River for my son's wedding in Pigeon Forge at the end of January. We asked for an upgrade to the river side and the front desk was very accommodating. Brandon, in particular, was incredibly helpful when I needed the "mother of the groom" speech printed. (The "business center" was pretty ineffective with an ancient computer, so Brandon helped!) Every staff member we encountered was super helpful and very professional. It is right on the main street and close to so much. If we were ever to go back to Pigeon Forge, we would stay here!

I stayed here before and was not happy that the beds were not made and room was filthy! But I let that slide…The reason I am posting this review NOW is that I called to ask about booking a new reservation and bringing and elderly relative who is 84 and has a 10 pound service dog. I was utterly shocked by the lady who I spoke to in reservations as she repeatedly said. “ let me give you the number of other hotels” even though this hotel says clearly it accepts service dogs. That is not only clear discrimination but an ADA VIOLATION! I am highly disappointed and utterly appalled at the manner in which this person clearly reiterated over and over to basically find another motel as they won’t honor the ADA laws or guidelines regarding service animals! Never been treated so rudely before!!

Room wasn't ready for check in at designated time. Check out process was delayed due to computer issues. Still haven't received a reciept from check out and it's been 12 hours since checking out. Otherwise breakfast is pretty substantial. Good views from the outdoor patio area, walkable to attractions. Indoor and outdoor pool exist.

It is a beautiful hotel filled with southern hospitality from the staff. We enjoyed our stay. My only concern is that their handicap rooms only have one queen bed in them, which doesn’t work when you have 4 people in the same room. They really need to make a few more handicapped rooms to accommodate people with families. But Kaitlyn one of the agents there went above and beyond for us, setting up a non handicapped room for us to be able to use. Unfortunately my husband had to go to the lobby restroom when he needed it because the room toilet was too low and the toilet riser was too small. But Kaitlyn deserves all the praise in the world for doing as much as she could for us. I hope her supervisors see this. You have a keeper there. Thank you again Kaitlyn!!

From check -in to departure, it couldn’t have been any better! The staff is soo friendly and helpful, spacious rooms, convenient location and evening popcorn! Who could ask for more? The breakfast buffet was exceptional! Sausage / Eggs / biscuits & gravy along potato’s! They also have: Waffles / fruit / Yogurt along with danishes. When you stay, get a room with a balcony and the river view. So relaxing! Also, PUCKETTs restaurant ( try the meatloaf!!) and the Christmas store are next door. You don’t want stay anywhere else!!

Great location in Pigeon Forge to walk to attractions and easy access to Gatlinburg. The hotel had great amenities such as hot breakfast, indoor/outdoor pools, fire pit near the river’s edge and a community lobby with comfortable seating. We will certainly book another stay here!

The hotel was very clean. The room was very nice. Housekeeping came in everyday to tidy up and refresh. The breakfast was nice for a hotel breakfast. The biggest problem was the bed! It was very uncomfortable. We ended up going to another hotel. The toilet paper was also very cheap. The hotel is right off the strip so getting out of parking lot can be challenging. If not for the bed would have been a perfect review.

Even though it is on the Parkway, it was still quiet and overlooked a beautiful part of the river. We enjoyed the fire pit area even during the day, watching the ducks on the river. We will definitely stay here again.

Everything was great. Had a kid above us though that was running back and forth through his room until 11:30 pm. That was annoying. Then there was a barking small dog in another room. The breakfast Buffet was great, except the potatoes were ice cold and pretty much none in the bin. Other than that it was a great experience.

The staff was great! However… The ice machine was out on our floor. We thought we were getting a river view, but it was not. The beds were terribly uncomfortable. The breakfast, was far from up to par. Instead, there were powdered eggs, no danish, no yogurt, and they needed more space in the dining area.

We had such a great experience at Inn on the River in Pigeon Forge! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome—they were so friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. The location is perfect—right in the center of Pigeon Forge—so we were close to all the attractions, shopping, and dining without having to drive far. The breakfast had a lot of variety, so there was something for everyone, though the flavors were just okay. The only other small thing we noticed was that the hot tub could have been warmer. Neither of these things took away from our stay, though, because everything else was so well done. We truly enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in the area!

The room was adequate, clean and comfortable. It is an older room, but the bathroom has been remodeled and adequate, although quite small. The breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were on the third floor near the elevator, so it was very easy to get around and to the dining area for breakfast.
