Clean room, very friendly receptionist. However, very little facilities, no proper bar, restaurant or eating establishment on site, when asked for additional tea / coffee was told these were chargeable extras! No room service and if you check out after 10am there is £10 charge for every hour. Certainly won’t be returning.

Beautiful place in peaceful location. Nice view from our apartment overlooking the courtyard & mill pump, which we walked past on the way to the leisure centre & lake. Enjoyed a swim & sauna to top it off. Some areas could do with an update (& deep clean) but areas like the sauna had been updated (balconies on the todo list apparently, as we couldn't use). There's wasn't a restaurant or bar but a daily food van and Sun eve entertainment. But we were happy with our experience - Staff all very friendly and helpful. My mum loved her birthday getaway. Would return!

All was fine and expected in terms of the room - exactly as expected. Text message service was also useful and convenient. However, on our arrival we were told that the pool was out of use and that the on site restaurant/bar was closed. The pool issue was disappointing as this was one of the deciding factors in choosing this accommodation. The restaurant being closed was inconvenient because we had to go back out and find something to eat. Had we known before we arrived (an email would have been very easy) then we could have easily sorted food before arrival since 4pm check in is quite late anyway. With regards to the pool, we did eventually get an offer of being able to visit the nearest leisure centre for a swim and get our cost refunded. This was a good offer that we used, but I do feel it could have been offered to us at check in since the on-site pool had been out of action well before our arrival.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom property, was impressed with how much room there was and very clean. The decor is a bit dated as others have mentioned but thats just asthetics. The site is undergoing renovation but we were not impacted with any noise or building works. The swimming pool was lovely, easy to book and free to hotel guests. The staff were all friendly and helpful, even the peacocks. The restaurant is closed but we were happy with self catering any way. I think all in all it depends on your expectations. For us it was a great base after days out and about sight seeing and the pool was the added bonus. Would definitely come back

We stayed in "Sleep 3" – a compact room with a double bed and a sofa bed. Some in-room facilities shown on the website (like a washing machine or dishwasher) weren’t included, but perhaps not expected for this room type. The small kitchen was good enough for cooking simple meals like pasta or breakfast. The hotel facilities were great – we especially enjoyed the warm swimming pool, steam room, sauna, and spa (though the opening hours are limited to 9am–6pm). There's also a cosy entertainment room open until 11pm, ideal for relaxing with kids. The surroundings are peaceful, we saw squirrels and even peacocks! Staff were attentive and responsive throughout our stay, with convenient communication via SMS.

Our review is mixed. Booking was easy and a courtesy call was received to say unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open but a bar was and a hot food van would be onsite We arrived and checkin went smoothly, with good instructions about everything but we were then informed that we couldn't use the balcony on our apartment and the french doors were locked. We entered the apartment to find the radiator value was broken. The heating was on full bore! Handyman came quicky to resolve but with only one window that opened a bit,a fan and some ice. The apartment was still unbearable. After some explaining that other propertieson site were available, intense negotiating and an insulting charge of £10 we were able to upgrade to a house. After a 12hr day we decided to pay it. The house we were moved to was well appointed, spacious and the bed comfortable . Some areas could have been cleaner (hoover may need emptying) We were also given access to the pool during members hr as unfortunately we had missed this whilst sorting out the issue. Leisure access finishes at 7pm. We were glad things were resolved and We would consider staying again

Very spacious accommodation, very clean and in fair order. Good facilities. General presentation for accommodation, could do with a bit of TLC in areas, including front door (not the best, given that it was the first impression of the accommodation) and loose kitchen cupboard doors and melamine peeling off the doors and drawers. However, that being said, warm, cosy and clean and this did not deter from the stay. Was annoyed that we were not told of the building works and significant renovations going on to the Restaurant building which was covered top to toe in scaffolding. The menu in the restaurant had been reduced significantly and was not fit for purpose resulting in having to find food elsewhere at 8.00pm at night. The description of Bar and Grill was not accurate as except for a Burger, there was no grilling taking place. No steaks etc. My Wife has Ceoliac Disease so has to have GF food. 2 out of 5 Gluten Free options were not available leaving a Turkey stroganoff, Veggi burger or fishcakes!! None of which is particularly appealing. Check out time is 10.00am. It was very kindly extended to 11.00 free of charge. Communication with Guests is very good. On the whole a good stay but please take note of constructive criticism.

I needed a two night break to surf, see friends and get some space to recharge my batteries. The staff were most friendly and helpful. The accommodation was perfect and very clean, double bedroom with bathroom and towels, with a living room and small self catering kitchen. It was perfect for what I needed. I didn't actually use the other facilities but they looked nice. I thoroughly recommend this resort. Thank you for a wonderful time!

The area and property are really pretty, but the cleaning needs improving. Dirty pillows in the lounge, filter coffee sachets with no coffee machine or filters in our room, hair on the bed. I booked for 3 people but the sofa bed wasn’t made up so we had to do this when we arrived. Pool and jacuzzi is really handy with kids but the changing rooms need cleaning and the rusty bin etc could do with being updated. Lots of nice beaches around, the Rydon inn for dinner and blackberry farm for breakfast were lovely. Summerleaze beach with its sea pool was stunning.

. There was a ‘musty’ smell - probably not been used often over the winter or cleaning products used. Cobwebs on the beams! Swimming Pool was excellent - really warm. A lovely relaxing place for most people but not for me. The Peacocks, are everywhere, directly outside the door and windows and on the walls. I guess you either love them or hate them.

The pool was great. The staff were very helpful and the text message communication was really good. The beds were very comfortable which made up for a lot of negatives. The kitchen was clean and had all we needed. Downsides - No dining places nearby and the closest was fully booked for our stay. The takeaway coffee hut on site was closed Sat, Sun & Mon. The property states no parties, no hen or stag dos and the receptionist reiterated that when we checked in, However for the 1st 2 nights of our stay we were unlucky that all the surrounding properties had been booked up by a very large group of family and friends and they all gathered in one house from 10pm and then continued to be extremely noisy until late. The reception staff sorted the noise for us on the second evening - we didn’t complain on the 1st eve. The house had seen better days. The stairs and upper floor creaked so badly it sounded like they were going to fall through. The sofas looked stained and there was a lots of old greasy hand marks along the edges of the upstairs doors and hair on the carpet. The ensuite shower was moldy. It looked nothing like the picture used to advertise the property. Possibly there were better properties on site which had been updated but we got a very tired one. Also, upon arrival the house was impregnated with the smell of curry - took 3 days to clear with windows open, or maybe we just got used to it! Didn’t feel 4 star. We won’t stay again but did love the pool and beds.

We stayed in the Lodge, it was AMAZING. we booked on a really short notice and the staff was able to decorate the lodge for my husband’s birthday as well. Staff is really polite and helpful. The lodge was very clean. We loved our stay, we even extended our stay.

Very welcoming greeting at reception with clear instruction for check in/out and all the facilities. Balcony does couldn’t be opened as were under maintenance. Lovely views over the stream and into the woods. Sofa wasn’t particularly comfortable and the shower head needed a good clean. As a base for local travel it suited our needs.

Had a lovely stay. We booked an apartment which turned out to be a lovely bungalow. The accommodation was a little dated but spotlessly clean and very spacious, great little extras such as kitchen roll, tea towels etc. resort was beautiful, highly recommend the leisure facilities it’s a shame there’s no restaurant. The bar is open 5-10pm but it would be good to be able to get a drink or coffee during the day. Came for a rest and it was perfect. I hope to come back one day.

Apartment was lovely. It overlooked some woods and was very peaceful. Had everything we needed as a family of three. It was clean and we had a comfortable bed. Lots of hot water for showers/bath. Swimming pool was clean and very warm. Peacocks were a beautiful bonus. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would definitely go again

The personal service at reception was fantastic. The facilities on site were great and the kids enjoyed the treasure hunt and swimming in the pool. The accommodation was very spacious and had everything we needed.

A beautiful spot, nice buildings. Beacuase of renovations we couldn’t open the balcony and it was extremly hot inside. We got two fans but it was still a problem.

Great location and the grounds are lovely but room is a bit dated..We stayed in a one bed apartment. Balcony was being repaired so unable to open the patio doors which meant the heat in the living area was unbearable. Fans provided but due to their only being a tiny window it was just blowing hot air around. Could also do with blackout on the windows in the bedroom.

Having stayed before we (my wife and 2 children) were happy to return but due to a shorter stay we thought we'd give the apartments a try, but unfortunately this was nothing like our previous experience in one of the lodges, which we really enjoyed. The apartments have very thin walls and unfortunately we had some noisy neighbours who were up through the night creating a disturbance. On top of that our apartment was facing outwards onto the main road which although isn't overly busy you do hear every car that passes the hotel. We also had a few external lights in the car park beaming into our room which the curtains didn't keep out. Ideally we needed a blind on the window but we used some towels to best effect to reduce the light. The apartment we had was also very dated and tired and was in need of renovating. The overall site is nice but its a shame we didn't select a lodge this time as the accommodation we had wasn't nice. When prompted by reception on our stay I informed the lady of the aforementioned but I don't think she was too bothered and just said "I'm sorry about to that".

Lovely accommodation, our own house, fully equipped, warm and very comfortable. Situated right in the countryside, with friendly peacocks mooching about. Our property overlooked a grass field and on our last morning we had a mother and young deer that came quite close to our unit. Pretty magic and the kids loved it

Brilliant place for a three-night stay! We had a two-bedroom house for three adults and two toddlers, and it was great—comfortable, spacious, clean, and excellent value for money. We’ll definitely be back! The only thing that could have made it even better would be replacing the old carpet with the same flooring as in the kitchen.

I understand it's part of natural wildlife however guests should be warned with a dray of peacocks that get SO LOUD during the night with a decently warm summer and NO AIR-CONDITIONING hence NO choice but have to open all windows to bear + siffer this noise ALL through the night. Otherwise I will not mark any complaints and it could be quite a decent stay.

Myself and my partner stayed for two nights, the grounds beautiful and the apartment was very clean and tidy. We had only one encounter with staff here and this was during check in, they were friendly and informative and even opted us in for their text message service which keeps you up to date with activities going on during your stay. The downside was that some of the facilities that were offered on hotels.com were not actually available during our stay, which was quite misleading and a bit disappointing, which meant for adults there isn’t a lot to do. It is also situated well out of the way, with no restaurants, pubs, or even towns within walking distance, it is really quite out of the way. We would have perhaps booked elsewhere had we known that some facilities were unavailable during our stay, our booking was also nonrefundable so we weren’t able to cancel. Overall, I would absolutely stay again providing that all facilities are open for use, I feel we only had half of the experience we would have had otherwise - a great stay for families.

Check-in was easy, although it was held to specified check-in times. Despite that, I was informed that I could use the facilities before proceeding to the apartment. Prior to arrival, there was great communication about dining options in the area as the restaurant was closed. Plenty of choices around within a 15-minute car drive. Staff was very informative. The apartment was lovely, clean, and very spacious. The facilities were excellent, clean, and well-used. Great value for money and I would use again.

We had a wonderful stay following a super warm welcome. The staff members are amazing. The only feedback I would share would be to consider telling guests that there are steep steps and steep slopes to the accommodation and giving people the option to book lower floor properties. The swimming pool wasn’t very warm but was a nice extra. The property smelled really badly when we arrived so we had to buy air fresheners to extinguish the smells. The toilet roll and kitchen roll is very poor quality, so take your own. There was no restaurant onsite and the accommodation was very rural, it’s a real shame as this could have made such a difference. The bar area could have been made more cosy, they’ve tried to balance family games with a bar atmosphere and it didn’t feel quite right. The staff were so wonderful and welcoming and made such a difference. The little shop onsite was very welcome and appreciated.

I cannot fault the staff at all here! Incredibly friendly and helpful both in reception and in the bar. Lovely large room. The decor, curtains and bathroom a little tired and dated but overall very comfy.

We stayed in the Lodge, it was AMAZING. we booked on a really short notice and the staff was able to decorate the lodge for my husband’s birthday as well. Staff is really polite and helpful. The lodge was very clean. We loved our stay, we even extended our stay.

This country club was the perfect peaceful escape. It’s quiet and relaxing, with exceptionally friendly staff and very clean, comfortable accommodations. I found the location and scenery stunning, it was a 1st time experience in this location and in Cornwall itself. All though our stay was in Holsworthy drive around was a first time experience sooo peaceful and calm such beautiful views and close to get around. Only downfall being in country side location to local amenities aren’t so close by and local gas stations or shopping stores charged double the cost of daily food products which made our trip very expensive as it would take us driving arleast 1 hour max to local Asda or convenience shopping store.

Clean room, very friendly receptionist. However, very little facilities, no proper bar, restaurant or eating establishment on site, when asked for additional tea / coffee was told these were chargeable extras! No room service and if you check out after 10am there is £10 charge for every hour. Certainly won’t be returning.

Restaurant and Bar not open, this was our anniversary but had to do own cooking, site said no cancellations as it was on website, couldn’t see anything on Hotels.com so will challenge this, also so bloody dark and the map to house wasn’t great, maybe light up signs and review lighting levels for walking at night

Excellent value for money with suberb facilies including indoor pool, sauna and steam room at no extra cost. Apartment was very clean and comfortable. Hotel has a pub attached that does excellent food and was very friendly. Whilst we were there it was closed on Sunday and there is no other dining option available. We picnicked on the balcony with a bottle of wine so didn't ruin our weekend. Will definitely be booking again.

Beautiful place in peaceful location. Nice view from our apartment overlooking the courtyard & mill pump, which we walked past on the way to the leisure centre & lake. Enjoyed a swim & sauna to top it off. Some areas could do with an update (& deep clean) but areas like the sauna had been updated (balconies on the todo list apparently, as we couldn't use). There's wasn't a restaurant or bar but a daily food van and Sun eve entertainment. But we were happy with our experience - Staff all very friendly and helpful. My mum loved her birthday getaway. Would return!

All was fine and expected in terms of the room - exactly as expected. Text message service was also useful and convenient. However, on our arrival we were told that the pool was out of use and that the on site restaurant/bar was closed. The pool issue was disappointing as this was one of the deciding factors in choosing this accommodation. Had a short break and didnt get chance to use the leisure facilities but hopefully next time we will. Apartment was very clean and comfortable and well equipped. Went into the restaurant, lovely meal which was good value. The 3 waitresses in the restaurant were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely return.

The Woodford Bridge Country Club is in a lovely rural location. The main building is a pretty thatched roofed period building. All the staff are welcoming and helpful. Our room was a club suite and was clean and comfortable. Some parts of the room were a little tired looking, especially the furniture, the bath panel and in particular the bathroom floor but everything remained useable and in working order. The bed was very comfortable. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna are clean and well looked after. The restaurant is also lovely and the food brilliant. There seemed to be a problem with the fire alarm as the alarm sounded every day, on one occasion at 04:45 in the morning! There is plenty to see and do in the area for all interests. I would recommend a visit to The Devil's Stone Inn in Shebbear, about 11mins drive from Woodford Bridge. It is an old country inn with lovely staff, friendly locals and amazing food and beer, a quintessential English pub. There are some nice costal walks at Hartland and lovely sandy beaches at Croyde and Bude. We did some rock climbing at Baggy Point, Hartland Quay and Compass Point. Probably best described as esoteric, as is the norm for the Culm coast, with the best rock probably at Compass but even then there's still a lot of scary loose blocks to be careful of! We enjoyed our stay at Woodford Bridge and would stay again.
The Woodford Bridge Country Club is in a lovely rural location. The main building is a pretty thatched roofed period building. All the staff are welcoming and helpful. Our room was a club suite and was clean and comfortable. Some parts of the room were a little tired looking, especially the furniture, the bath panel and in particular the bathroom floor but everything remained useable and in working order. Two night break in a one bedroom appartment was excellent. Very clean. Appeared to be refurbished. We did not use the leisure facilities. A bottle of wine in the bar was £29 which we considered to be very over priced considering it retails at just over £8! No doubt it was probably £5 for them to purchase. We were disappointed there was no music or quiz night in the bar. You will need transport as the country club is not located near shops or pubs. There is a pub a 5 minute drive away which serves excellent food and they give a warm welcome. The Union Inn. Affinity shopping outlet is great for a few hours of retail therapy. Bude is around 30 mins drive. Staff very friendly and helpful. This was our 8th visit and it didn’t disappoint. We paid £10 to have a later check out of 11am. At check in they do take £100 deposit from you. From previous visits I know this can take up to a week to be returned to your account which can be inconvenient. We hope to return in the New Year

However, you cannot check in until 4pm and you have to check out by 10am (unless you want to pay £10 extra per hour!). This leaves you with no time to use these facilities. There was also no food and drink available as the restaurant was closed. This information was not given on hotels.com when making the booking or given by the hotel until I checked in.

We stayed in an apartment parking was convenient. The apartment was well equipped. The only disappointment was not being able to use the pool because of timings you can't check in until 4 and pool closes at 5 we were out the whole of the next day and checking out the day after that

Really nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. I stayed here last week for work and straight away decided to book for the following week. And I will be booking future stays as well.

We loved this place, stayed for a week and had all the self catering equipment we needed. Also loved the visiting food vans & our nightly game of ping pong! We didn't get to use the pool and sauna etc as we were out exploring during its opening times, but that was our decision. We also thoroughly enjoyed the entertaining noises made by the peacocks (and hens!). We were very comfortable for our stay.

Good property but disappointed that EV charging only available if site vehicles not using it and as charging was by the hour could not use overnight without many hours charged even if charging had stopped. Property chosen because it had EV charging.
