Fantastic location , room was very good but the food at the hotel seemed very expensive and then the food at the sister pub the Swan was well below par ! how it was described in the Menu was nothing like in reality. One other point and something people should be aware even if your a resident you cannot use the Spa facilities unless you book a treatment (which for me was not required ) so I was not then allowed to simply have a swim and sauna.

Nice setting and convenient location, with decent parking. Staff in the spa were great and treatments excellent although the spa itself a bit underwhelming; pool a bit cold, steam room quite small, limited loungers and special effects showers hard to use. Standard room decent with a comfortable large bed, small but nice bathroom and the usual amenities. Proximity of the windows on the ground floor to the path outside a bit disconcerting but ok. We thought the main accommodation hall looked like a prison and a few plants and better lighting could have made it really inviting and modern. Wildings restaurant delivered an excellent dinner but while the staff were pleasant enough they came across as completely out of their depth compared to the fine dining offered. At least one experienced head wait person should have been around. The dining room itself is very nice. Breakfast was very average and took ages to arrive. Overall staff were friendly. Went to the Old Swan for a pre dinner drink hoping for a warm cosy ye old pub but the inside didn’t match the inside which was cold (why wasn’t the fire on?) and lifeless even though there were a few people in there. The staff also struggled to deal with 3 people at the small bar. Would strongly suggest a refit and pepping up the staff but until then don’t bother as there’s much better pubs a stone’s throw away. All in all had a good time and would go back if only for the excellent spa staff and treatments and a meal in Wildings.

We were celebrating our 20th Wedding anniversary so wanted a spa hotel and something a bit special. First impressions were very good and we started our afternoon in the spa of which I couldn't fault. The 2 staff were really welcoming and the treatments were fantastic. The spa facilities were really lovely. Our room wax really nice and spacious...we had booked a suite so that we could have more space and a bath. However, when I went to use the bath, the plug wouldn't fit properly. It didn't even have a seel, so unfortunately I couldn't use the bath! We paid £315 for this room specifically to have a bath tub, it was such a shame.

Not as advertised, bad location, no gym as advertised, extremely uncomfortable bed, unhelpful staff, couldn’t use spa even when nobody was using it, slow restaurant, the list goes on. Don’t waste your time or money.

On the positive side, the hotel is a pleasant setting. However, the check-in process was slow and not very informative. The internet wasn’t working anywhere in the hotel, and with no mobile signal available, we were unable to communicate with our family. The room also had several cobwebs, many within easy reach, which made us question how thoroughly it had been cleaned. Just after midnight, we were woken by drunk guests returning to the room next door, and the noise continued for some time. We visited the bar and restaurant, but they also fell short of expectations. There appeared to be a lack of organisation, with staff needing to go across the road to the pub to collect condiments and drinks. The Hotel was lovely . But there was a wedding on the night of our stay and there was not enough staff . The bar was understaffed and waited for ages for drinks . The bar staff kept disappearing to the wedding . The bar kept running out of drinks and cocktail mixers .

The hotel is in an idyllic setting and well presented. Sadly, the spa facilities are only available to guests who purchase a treatment. There was some confusion with communication: I received an email telling me the hotel was closed after I had booked and indeed there was a sign at the entrance of the hotel indicating it was closed, when it was not. Someone had already been and enjoyed my room I was moved but to another room with dirty mugs and half used milk in the fridge I guess they’d been to busy to overlook these issues so will never choose to return on this basis very beautiful area though

This is far from a 5 star hotel! Not sure who or how they got that rating. The rooms and corridors were not clean. Heavy dirt and cobwebs all over fans and room corners. We realize this is a 600+ year old hotel but the linens, drapes and fabric decor are in dire need of updating. The staff was not warm and friendly here either relative to all of the other hotels we stayed at during our 2 week UK visit. Very disappointed since this was our last night in England.

Non existent customer service. No wifi at all during the stay, room lacked basic amenities, only toiletries provided in the room were shower gel and shampoo, 1 roll of toilet paper. Room needed some basic maintenance as wallpaper was cracking as well as the ceiling paint. we had a broken light switch, reported to front desk and no one was sent to fix it. My partner called ahead of time as we got engaged the day we checked in and was assured they would set special something up in our room. They did not accommodate this request, he spoke to concierge about this and the lady could not have cared less. A real shame as the grounds are absolutely beautiful and the bar staff were lovely, however the maintained rooms and poor customer service/ lack of care was a real turn off and a disappointing stay as a result.

Business stop over. Arrived before check-in time but no effort to see when room would be ready. Was staying in pub part of hotel but they didn't have my booking, not a good start. Very poor phone signal at hotel, often no coverage at all, and internet wasn't connecting so was left unable to operate for work as I would normally do on a trip like this. Room as tired, especially bathroom. Expected better for £170/night. Good things: comfy bed, quiet, excellent food. Unfortunately outweighed by poor things, won't stay again for business, doesn't suit it.

The hotel was tired and a bit shabby. Bottles and glasses not cleared away for over 24hours and bird poo all over the exterior staircase outside the room. For £350.00 a night I would expect a little more. I’d also expect to be able to use the hotel pool. I couldn’t.

Feature Room was not great, shower pressure poor and shower head didn't stay put, water temperature intermittent and barely warm enough. No marshmallows for the outdoor fire, opened bottle of milk in the fridge, two single beds pushed together and not bolted but even when I managed to bolt them it was so uncomfortable trying to sleep we might as well have had 2 single beds separately. When moving beds which was easy to do as they were on wheels and hard floor it became obvious only partial cleans of the room were being done as behind the bed was filthy dust, dirt and hair everywhere. The bathroom skirting and all skirting was dusty. Grout on floor tiles coming out and generally tired everywhere. All in all not worth £300+ per night, if you charge this amount you have to at least have a clean room to start with!

The hotel is set into lovely quiet surroundings and has a lot of potential but their are so many little problems here, for 1 no aircon which made for an uncomfortable stay, they did provide a fan but it's not going to do what Aircon would, the rooms are expensive, we had a junior suite and it might as well have been a standard room, broken tile in the bathroom, missing plug in the sink, seems no one can decide what colour the finishing should be it's a mix of chrome, brass, black & white! One particular staff member in the restaurant on our arrival day was very rude and made us feel very uncomfortable, to the point I was actually quite upset and we left the area. Very unnecessary and we were made to feel unwelcome there, despite only one customer being in the restaurant at the time. Room itself was lovely, a few minor issues with a broken shower and item missing from the minibar, finding someone else’s socks in the drawer. King size bed was two beds pushed together - no problem with this but both slightly different heights with a dip in the middle so not ideal. Majority of staff we came across were friendly and polite. Such a shame about a few things that put a negative slant on the whole stay, which has been for a special occasion and only our second night away without the kids in 4 years.

Feature Room was not great, shower pressure poor and shower head didn't stay put, water temperature intermittent and barely warm enough. No marshmallows for the outdoor fire, opened bottle of milk in the fridge, two single beds pushed together and not bolted but even when I managed to bolt them it was so uncomfortable trying to sleep we might as well have had 2 single beds separately. When moving beds which was easy to do as they were on wheels and hard floor it became obvious only partial cleans of the room were being done as behind the bed was filthy dust, dirt and hair everywhere. The bathroom skirting and all skirting was dusty. Grout on floor tiles coming out and generally tired everywhere. All in all not worth £300+ per night, if you charge this amount you have to at least have a clean room to start with!

The first time ever we left a weekend break a day early. The room was unbearable. So hot even with heating off and windows open. Very noisy it felt like we were sleeping in a boiler room. This was a special trip for us, my 60th birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary. The hotel staff were superb from start to finish, with cards for both events, messages at dinner, upgraded room, and just lovely acknowledgment throughout that this was our special trip. Special thanks to Francis for organising everything. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, well equipped and immaculately maintained. The village is picture perfect and the walk to the church and ruined Manor House by the banks of the River Windrush was glorious. We used the hotel as a base to visit Blenheim Palace and has a wonderful time. We cannot thank everyone enough.

On checking out even though we paid in advance, they charged us for the room again and we had drinks on our bill that we never had, they did eventually sort it out after checking with bar and their reservation department but took a while. Other than that, this was our first visit since the change in ownership and we have to say, it was much better before. The whole place - Swan and Minster Mill has lost its spark and charm it had. The focus now seems to be on corporate and high end drinking and dining rather than comfort country living. It is with a heavy heart that we will not returning. This place held a special place in our hearts (we were married there in 2016) but it is just not the same. The new owners have changed something that do not need to be changed unfortunately.

I accidently went to the Minster Mill hotel but, as they are opposite each other and are sister hotels, the receptionist found my booking and directed me. Be aware the road to the hotel is very narrow - but it is a one-way street and takes you back onto the road you left (like a crescent) when you leave.

Amazing stay in a quiet little village about 20 minutes drive from Oxford, Burton on the water. 5 minute drive from Burford which is amazing and 5 minutes from Diddly Sqt. Farm and pub. The Swan pub opposite is so cosy.

Nice setting and convenient location, with decent parking. Staff in the spa were great and treatments excellent although the spa itself a bit underwhelming; pool a bit cold, steam room quite small, limited loungers and special effects showers hard to use. Standard room decent with a comfortable large bed, small but nice bathroom and the usual amenities. Proximity of the windows on the ground floor to the path outside a bit disconcerting but ok. We thought the main accommodation hall looked like a prison and a few plants and better lighting could have made it really inviting and modern. Wildings restaurant delivered an excellent dinner but while the staff were pleasant enough they came across as completely out of their depth compared to the fine dining offered. At least one experienced head wait person should have been around. The dining room itself is very nice. Breakfast was very average and took ages to arrive. Overall staff were friendly. Went to the Old Swan for a pre dinner drink hoping for a warm cosy ye old pub but the inside didn’t match the inside which was cold (why wasn’t the fire on?) and lifeless even though there were a few people in there. The staff also struggled to deal with 3 people at the small bar. Would strongly suggest a refit and pepping up the staff but until then don’t bother as there’s much better pubs a stone’s throw away. All in all had a good time and would go back if only for the excellent spa staff and treatments and a meal in Wildings.

The staff also struggled to deal with 3 people at the small bar. Would strongly suggest a refit and pepping up the staff but until then don’t bother as there’s much better pubs a stone’s throw away. All in all had a good time and would go back if only for the excellent spa staff and treatments and a meal in Wildings.

We had an amazing stay at Minster Mill! The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating and made our stay especially enjoyable. We visited with our three young sons and they loved exploring the grounds and playing outside. It was a beautiful property and very welcoming to our family.

We had a lovely stay at the Minster mill, we have been a few times before the renovation and enjoyed it more the first few times. However, there were some positives this time around, the food was lovely in the Wildling restaurant. The young gentleman serving us was very nice at the restaurant and Lucy was awesome too, she made the evening very enjoyable and was great company! The room overall did look quite tired despite the renovations and lacked a little character however, the outdoor terrace in the room was lovely. The area is lovely and there are some very pretty places to visit so overall still a very positive experience. On previous visits we have brought our pet Cat along for the stay as this hotel was meant to be pet friendly, however this time around we were told by reception it was only exclusively dog friendly not pet friendly which we found a little frustrating as this was never an issue in the past here or other pet friendly hotels.

Absolutely stunning hotel in the Cotswolds, really picturesque location and great facilities in a super comfy and stylish room! Very attentive front of house and wait staff in the restaurant. Delicious well prepared food too! Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again in the future!

Nice setting and convenient location, with decent parking. Staff in the spa were great and treatments excellent although the spa itself a bit underwhelming; pool a bit cold, steam room quite small, limited loungers and special effects showers hard to use. Standard room decent with a comfortable large bed, small but nice bathroom and the usual amenities. Proximity of the windows on the ground floor to the path outside a bit disconcerting but ok. We thought the main accommodation hall looked like a prison and a few plants and better lighting could have made it really inviting and modern. A location and property with a lot of potential and yet to label itself "luxury" means a focus on the detail is required, and staff attitude and demeanour that reflects such a claim. Breakfast at the Old Mill was bland and uninspiring, and certainly not worth the £20 + service charge (!!) we were surprised with on our bill at checkout. This was not helped by the terrible attitude of the staff on our 2nd morning. Responding with obvious distain when we ask for an extra Espresso or when we pointed out they had got our order wrong...

On the positive side, the hotel is a pleasant setting. However, the check-in process was slow and not very informative. The internet wasn’t working anywhere in the hotel, and with no mobile signal available, we were unable to communicate with our family. The room also had several cobwebs, many within easy reach, which made us question how thoroughly it had been cleaned. Just after midnight, we were woken by drunk guests returning to the room next door, and the noise continued for some time. We visited the bar and restaurant, but they also fell short of expectations. The staff were friendly and hardworking, but service was quite slow, particularly for drinks; on one occasion, it took 30 minutes to receive a drink. There appeared to be a lack of organisation, with staff needing to go across the road to the pub to collect condiments and drinks. Of the two meals we ordered, the steak was fine, but the cod was unfortunately quite poor, it certainly wasn't fresh. Additionally, several drinks listed on the menu were unavailable. Upon checking out we were not asked how our stay was and if everything had been okay.

The Minster Mill is a lovely hotel in a stunning Cotswolds village, with beautiful walks on your doorstep. The food is 5*, we had a delicious evening meal (although it’s gourmet-style dining so expect high prices and tiny portions!), and the breakfast was truly sensational – a great selection of options, would highly recommend the French Toast! Our overall review is that we didn’t feel it was value for money – our Classic Room, while nice, was in a corridor of about 20 other identical rooms, and despite paying £250 per night, didn’t have a bath. The rooms are nicely appointed but perhaps a little soulless. The spa is very small but perfectly formed & a nice spot to spend an hour or so unwinding. I thought it was cheeky to charge guests a £25 fee to use the spa, considering its size and the aforementioned price of the rooms (this fee is waved if you book a treatment, but still...). It’s great to have the option of a more casual place to eat/drink literally just over the road at The Old Swan (the Minster Mill’s sister property), although unfortunately we had a very bad dining experience there, which I’ll write about in a separate review! Some locals told us that the village’s other pubs, The White Hart & The Horse & Radish, a short walk away, are much better! In summary, the Minster Mill is very nice, but don’t expect a boutique hotel experience, despite its boutique hotel prices. That said, the food was faultless & staff were friendly.

There was some confusion with communication: I received an email telling me the hotel was closed after I had booked and indeed there was a sign at the entrance of the hotel indicating it was closed, when it was not. Loved the location and surrounding area and the reception staff were really helpful and informed. It was an except hot day and the air conditioning was less than useless. Never spent a more uncomfortable night. The whole breakfast experience was awful. The lady that meet us was rude and off hand, they were definitely under staffed and every request was meet with ‘I can but that will take some time’. That was a simple request for more milk and then coffee. There were no options for my child for breakfast that weren’t overly complicated and fussy. I know it’s an al a carte menu, but if the hotel caters for children then shouldn’t the menu too. We weren’t asking for much and maybe just a plain cereal or other spreads for the toast, but it was meet with a straight up no. Overall it wasn’t worth the extra amount we paid and the experience put me off staying again.

I was staying Across The Road in another part of the hotel the pub side no one showed me to my room and I spent 25 minutes looking for it when I finally arrived. It was cold and the bed was not that comfy.

The reception staff were not very informative or professional. The communal areas, corridors etc were tired and tun down, washing bags left outside for long periods of time etc. The spa was very relaxing but very expensive compared to other spas. Overall it was an ok stay but wouldn't I return, perhaps not as think I could get more value for money elsewhere in the area
