Colwall Park - Hotel, Bar & Restaurant

Lovely hotel with a good bar and very reasonable dinner menu. Breakfast was first rate.

Hotel staff was excellent and very helpful- room was OK and clean - food was OK. Old hotel NO Air con - fan in room ! Over priced for what it is in my opinion!

So mixed review Firstly the location is great and a lovely building . The first room we had room 15 was very tired so we asked to move and our request was dealt with promptly and professionally and we were move to room 2 This room was much nicer bright and airy although the bathroom floor needs attention and this room would be a 10 rather than a 7 We ate all 3 nights and found the food to excellent as well as breakfast which has a great choice and used the bar which was nice and full of friendly locals. The stand out for us here were the staff they are really pleasant and helpful nothing is too much trouble. We would stay again but would make sure we booked one of the larger rooms such as room 2 as the standard room just wasn’t upto to standard

There needs to be someone on reception at all times, we had to wait for someone to turn up numerous times, yet there were keys and details of guests on the table for everyone to see. The evening meal was very good, bar staff helpful, but the breakfast tables were dirty, crumbs everywhere, my coffee came in a cup but no saucer, better in a mug. Parking is not signposted or marked out.

Clean, recently updated hotel in a village location great for exploring Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Cheerful, helpful staff. Off road parking. Restaurant available plus plenty choice in Ledbury and Malvern.

The hotel was very dog friendly and we felt welcome. The staff were busy but friendly and helpful at all times. We enjoyed the breakfasts and the one evening meal we had. The bar was bustling and busy but this was understandable during our Twixmas break. We did feel that there were not enough places to sit during the evening since the bar was small and there is no residents lounge. My only criticism of the whole trip (3 nights) was that we booked it via hotels.com believing we would have the best rate. We were informed by the manager at reception that we could have saved over £100 by booking with them directly. We contacted the customer service of hotels.com as advised by the hotel manager. However they were unhelpful and refused to match the hotel price and refund any money. This was disappointing but absolutely not the hotel's fault and I can only advise others to be cautious if booking with hotels.com.

Colwall Park Hotel is a characterful property in a lovely leafy village setting. Friendly staff, clean and excellent food.

We liked the quirkiness of the property. The staff were all welcoming and happy to assist. There was some dust in the room. The room felt a little too shabby chic. One of us didn’t enjoy their dinner, the vegetable lasagne was not very good! The breakfast however was excellent.

Very kind staff. I arrived after 9:30 a.m. not knowing that breakfast closes so early, and the woman attending made me a plate even though the chefs had left. Clean room, comfortable bed, good shower, window for fresh air.

We had a lovely relaxed stay at Colwall Park. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed chilling out in the bar in front of the cosy logburner while it poured down outside! We also enjoyed a delicious meal later on. Apart from a few cobwebs up in the rafters, everything was clean and very comfortable. We hope to come again in better weather so we can walk!

A proper country retreat. Warm and welcoming - I honestly felt like a bit of a VIP during my stay. The team sorted a room change for me without any fuss and even arranged a late checkout, which made everything so much easier. The place was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The food and drink were top-notch, especially the produce from the owners’ farm. The staff were first rate throughout: friendly, helpful, and genuinely thoughtful. It made the whole experience feel personal rather than just another work trip. In fact, I enjoyed my stay so much that I’m already planning to come back for a weekend break with my wife, not just for work.

The staff were pleasant and welcoming. Food was excellent though they did get our breakfast orders mixed up but very apologetic and corrected errors promptly. I was not happy with my room it was quite basic & plain and cold looking! No wardrobe only a couple of poles on wall with a few hangers on. An old oblong table stand as a dresser and a small bedside table. The mattress was very firm and uncomfortable so I did not sleep too well! The curtains would not close properly either. I felt it was geared to being more suited for a male occupier, it had no character to it! It was very small with no ambience about it, for the price I expected something more welcoming. My travelling companions rooms were more luxurious with low lighting and plush decor, little extra touches here and there(flowers/ nick nacks etc). They had double rooms as they were with there partners but I don't see why a single room shouldn't have the same qualities as a double room for the price they charge! I wouldn't there again!

lovely old fashioned hotel. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable- a lovely hotel. Bar was not overly warm due to log fire out of action but overall a lovely hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Booked to stay again

Nice large rooms. Excellent breakfast.

This is a good hotel with generally excellent service and an excellent location. It was my second stay here but not quite as enjoyable as last time. This is down to the room. Last year I had Room 4 on the first floor, which was very good indeed. This year I had Room 23 on the second floor, which was much smaller, with rather erratic WiFi and a weak shower. Still recommended, though, but make sure to ask for the right room.

Uncomfortable bed/pillows and poor shower flow. Staff lovely and hotel itself very nice, welcoming and clean. Quality of sleep and shower makes it an expensive stay in terms of overall value for money.

Location is good with easy access to places of interest. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Food was tasty with generous servings and breakfast catered for all needs. Initial impressions were that general decor needed an upgrade though the dining room and bar were very pleasant. Our room, though small, was adequate and the bathroom was very clean. However, it was very dark due to the colour of the walls and furniture which were all painted in a very dark ‘heritage’ colour. Lighting was also very dim. We understand that this of course, is a personal preference, but sadly did not enhance our stay. However, overall, an enjoyable 2 night stay.

Charlotte was incredibly informative and passionate in answering our local questions of which her knowledge was invaluable to us. Lovely room we had, being hyper critical it is an old building so the bathroom layout meant you couldn't really have a shower, so bathing it was instead. Had a wonderful stay, highly recommended. Initially we were very happy with our choice. Great position, lovely bar, huge room and very clean although the rooms could do with updating. However, when reaching for a towel after showering my arm caught on the heated towel rail which was way too hot causing quite a severe burn to my arm. When my husband went to reception to get some first aid he was told that there was no first aider on duty and was offered their first aid box. When arriving for dinner sometime later, we asked for the incident to be recorded in the accident book. It was the first time that this had ever been used and we were informed that it was ‘new’. This prompted the receptionist to very kindly find me a burns pack. Thank goodness, as I think is helped greatly. When having our dinner served, a gentleman who worked at the hotel (and who had been there the entire time) approached and told me that he was in fact a first aider and that he would check the injury after we had eaten our meal. When this happened (a mere glance)he advised me to “go and drink myself through it”! The food was, at best, bland. This was the feedback given by another resident. The following morning the same gentleman who had given me the very unhelpful advise the night before said that, after breakfast, he would take a look at my arm but then continued to let us walk out of the hotel without doing so. I cannot believe that a hotel of this size could let something like this happen. Thank goodness it wasn’t more serious.

Great little find, nice beer, excellent food and overall really good value for money. Plus, every member of the team were cheerful and polite. Thank You.

Perfect location for the Malvern RHS Show. Breakfast was lovely.

Perfect base for an overnight stay, lots of lovely walks. The breakfast was cooked to order with lots of choice. Very good.

Another fabulous stay , such kind staff wanting to help you , surrounded by amazing quiet scenery and a useful bus service to get you almost to the top of the hills. Breakfast excellent and done to order . An infrequent but direct train to london and brum via worcester drops you pretty much at the back door .

Enjoyed our stay at Colwall Park Hotel. We went to RHS Malvern Flower Festival and this was a great location being just a few miles away. Nice big room with large comfortable bed. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, great couple of days in lovely part of the country.

Perfect for the single traveller. Breakfast choice was good. You can walk to the Malvern Hills, about 1.5 miles or you can drive and park and emjoy the views across the Severn valley and Herefordshire.

A very welcoming and friendly hotel. Food was excellent and all staff members friendly and courteous. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

The room was absolutely beautiful. The en-suite was lovely. Everything was clean and the staff at reception were so friendly. Really good value for money. My only slight problem was that breakfast really wasn’t very nice. But overall a lovely stay.

Check in was quick. Room was nice but too hot for me I like a cold bedroom, clean with tea/coffee making facilities. Car park is busy had to park on the road outside until late in the evening. Breakfast service was very slow and to be honest not worth waiting for eggs were undercooked and bacon very salty, but there was plenty of choice. I stayed as I was competing at Royal Three Counties show and it wasn’t too far away, satnav did take me up some really windy streets but that was due to the traffic around the Showground.
