The original double room allocated was only big enough for a single bed and the carpet worn and dirty. The changing areas were swimming in water and the ladies stank of wee! Furthermore the tiles in the pool area were a slip hazard- far too shiny - especially the ones that had been replaced

From the moment I walked in, to that when I left, the staff were superb. Available to help when required, helped to create a great environment. Pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub were used in the evening and morning, clean towels available at reception each time. Breakfast, again helpful and food was good too. Would stay again and will be.

We arrived to a free room upgrade—yay! But as a disabled guest, stairs with no lift felt more like a surprise obstacle course. Still, we made it. Parking: easy. Heating: effective (once we played “find the radiator valve”). Pillows: minimal—one each & a lonely spare. Tea/coffee facilities were promising, especially the Nespresso machine… until we discovered its water tank had gone full biology experiment. We handed it in at checkout, hoping to save the next guest from a mouldy morning brew. Receptionist looked disappointed but offered no coffee, no apology, no caffeine-based comfort. The bath? No anti-slip mat. If you’re second in & it’s already wet, prepare for a slippery thrill ride. It felt like it might collapse under me— I’m 5'4", size 12! The shower pulsed like it was trying to send Morse code. Very odd. No plug sockets near the bed, which is more than inconvenient when you need to plug in medical equipment overnight. Cleanliness was mostly good, but cobwebs lit up like Christmas when the lights came on. Poolside showers were cold, hard to adjust, & one door wouldn’t close. Lockers? Not enough locks. Trust issues activated. We were on a room-only basis, so sadly can’t comment on the food—though the menu looked tempting enough to regret missing out! Reception on arrival was... not warm. No smile, no info, just a laser focus on taking card details. Definitely not a graduate of charm school. Despite the flaws, the price makes it a stay we’d consider again.

Lovely position. We were upgraded to a larger room, which was lovely. Lovely hot shower and bath. The food was good. The communal areas (corridoors, stairs, carpets) were a bit tired in the older part of the hotel where our room was. Pool, steam room and jacuzzi were very good. Staff all pleasant and helpful.

Hotel is very weathered, but fawlty towers Gym was out as it has been both my trips Room had very little light, no air con, lights flickering, wall paper peeling off Signs saying sorry about the condition of the hotel, would be easier just to sort it Staff Uber friendly couldn’t fault them but investment sorely needed to realise full potential

Everywhere is tired. Bath in our room was unsafe, no bath mat to stop slipping, bath floor was moving. Dirty around around shower glass hinge. As such, the bath was not used and I went in the pool shower. However, that was just as bad. Looks dirty and in dire need of complete refurb. Hairdryer in our room was broken too. Breakfast was good.

My room was large, clean and had all the facilities needed accessed through the bar, few stairs and a long winding corridor with tatty threadbare carpet in places. Staff were friendly and polite, as was the breakfast. Enjoyed the jacuzzi, steam room and slightly too cold pool after a day of training.

Great location for the town and very peaceful surroundings. Does need refurbishment, take out carpets and have a more modern look. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly on arrival and even though I asked for it to be sorted, it wasn’t! Friendly staff. But will have to pay more to stay elsewhere next visit.

Room was tiny and dirty. Daddy long legs on the bed. Terrible shower with no power. Tv didn’t work properly. Tea and coffee options very limited - just breakfast tea and instant coffee. Limited selection for breakfast. Very Poor value for money.

very dated. no remote for tv, single bed was very uncomfortable. the towels in the bathroom had stains on and one looked like it's been chewed by a mouse. decpr looked old and dated. zero sound proof as i was woken up a lot by other people late at night and early morning by other people talking. jacuzzi that was advertised was out of order

Overall a nice little overnight stay for myself and my so . The family room however is very tired and requires some attention particularly the bed which has seen betrays. The mattress was too soft and the springs could be felt. Not an overly comfortable sleep.

A lovely overnight stay . Comfortable bed and lovely clean room. Lovely friendly staff . The only disappointment was we’d paid for a room with a view but the view was mainly a view of the car park so maybe it would be an idea to not advertise this as an option? However we would definitely return for another visit in the near future.

Thebhotel staff were veryvnice and the parking and locstion were both really good but the room we were given was very old and tired, it was clean and the bathroom part was ok but the room was badly in need of some tlc. Another nigglenwas no plug sockets near the bed they were all over the other side of the room. The noise was the issue with this room, though, banging doors until very late, and the sound of what we were told was the pool pump meant very little sleep. The doors were staff usage as i think we were near a door being propped open and closed whilst sorting the bar and then again at breakfast. The pool area was also badly in need of a thorough update. We had no hot water in the female changing rooms both times we used the pool. I really wanted to give a better review as the staff were lovely but sadly i can't

This hotel was convenient for the town centre, and the staff were lovely. The hotel itself is a little tired, if you have a room with a connecting door then you'll be able to hear the TV and all conversations in the adjoining room.

Overall for one night it was ok. Breakfast good and helpful people. The carpets on the second floor were disgusting dirty need a good clean or renewed. Our room for £89 was so small we could just about get in bed. The single room wasn’t much better. And should not of been charged at the same price as the double. 2 star only.

Nice hotel position and overall clean but very dated rooms need upgrades . No air conditioning and shower over bath not good. However staff friendly and efficient, breakfast home cooked to order and delicious.

We arrived to a free room upgrade—yay! But as a disabled guest, stairs with no lift felt more like a surprise obstacle course. Still, we made it. Parking: easy. Heating: effective (once we played “find the radiator valve”). Pillows: minimal—one each & a lonely spare. Tea/coffee facilities were promising, especially the Nespresso machine… until we discovered its water tank had gone full biology experiment. We handed it in at checkout, hoping to save the next guest from a mouldy morning brew. Receptionist looked disappointed but offered no coffee, no apology, no caffeine-based comfort. The bath? No anti-slip mat. If you’re second in & it’s already wet, prepare for a slippery thrill ride. It felt like it might collapse under me— I’m 5'4", size 12! The shower pulsed like it was trying to send Morse code. Very odd. No plug sockets near the bed, which is more than inconvenient when you need to plug in medical equipment overnight. Room clean and tidy, used the spa faculties both days, Staff extremely friendly, made our dog Molly very welcome in the bar area, she loved the attention. Reception staff very helpful. Even the other guests were lovely and chatty.

Arrived to be told that the last time we can have breakfast is 8 o’clock I questioned this as nowhere does it say that & we were told that there are only 14 spaces and every other one is booked so we have to have breakfast from 7 o’clock to 8 o’clock or we can’t have breakfast. What a shambolic way to treat guests and nowhere does it say that in your literature when I booked the hotel room I was not told that I need to book a slot for breakfast had I known this I would’ve booked breakfast for 930 however we were told 930 but on your website it says 10 o’clock Something is wrong and it’s not us! Roll onto Sunday morning and we came to breakfast at 09:20 to see 6 empty tables & greeted by the friendly waitress who said you can sit at any table for 2……. We then enjoyed our full breakfast without any issues. So as I suspected, the information about having to book was utter codswallop. I’ve travelled the world & bar covid rules, I’ve never had this kind of ridiculous restriction placed upon breakfast. Also told only until 09:30, website says 10:00 at weekends.

We had an excellent room. The food was excellent and the staff were very flexible and amenable as we were there for a reunion and wanted to change their admirable table settings for a more cozy atmosphere. Only glitch was the door key but easily rectifiable. The consensus was that we will be back next year.

Couldn’t fault it. Staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and added bonus, dog friendly! My fur baby loved his little holiday.

It is located in a really nice town with lots of lovely shops, pubs and places to eat. The Old Mill its self is as it states OLD. looks and feels old however there is a nice feel about the place. I have stayed in worse but for the money I have stayed in nicer as well. I am traveling with business so it did the job however I wouldnt spend my hard earned money taking a break here.

We have stayed at The Old Mill on numerous occasions over the years. It is always very welcoming but now is in need of a complete refurbishment. It is very clean and the staff are excellent,but so much of it is worn and outdated. It's location is really good and it has plenty of parking. I believe a refurb is due this year and we look forward to our next visit. Softer pillows would be good!

Wecstsyed for one night as we were meeting up with friends in Ramsbottom. Hotel is in a lovely location, within walking distance of the town and a really nice area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Excellent service. The hotel is in need of a refresh really. We had a very old fashioned shower in our room and things just looked 'tired'. However, we only usually stay for one night so ok for us but if staying longer i think the bathroom and rooms need a bit of modernisation. No offence. We had a nice evening and the price was reasonable.

Lovely historical hotel and I love Ramsbottom as a place to visit. We did walks up to Peel tower and went on the steam train. Fantastic places to eat too - Cocoa Tree is a delight!

Room was tiny and dirty. Daddy long legs on the bed. Terrible shower with no power. Tv didn’t work properly. Tea and coffee options very limited - just breakfast tea and instant coffee. Limited selection for breakfast. Very Poor value for money.

From the moment I walked in, to that when I left, the staff were superb. Available to help when required, helped to create a great environment. Pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub were used in the evening and morning, clean towels available at reception each time. Breakfast, again helpful and food was good too. Would stay again and will be.

The restaurant was quite good, for both breakfast and dinner (but wine too expensive). My room was mostly OK, at the price. BUT the bathroom door had to be kicked hard to actually close it - and then to open it from inside required heaving on the handle so hard that I think it might have pulled off and left me trapped in there! Didn’t the housekeeping staff know about this dangerous situation?

Nice hotel position and overall clean but very dated rooms need upgrades . No air conditioning and shower over bath not good. However staff friendly and efficient, breakfast home cooked to order and delicious.

Oh dear, I'm sure this could be a very nice hotel. Rather sad and disappointing from the bath which felt like it may break, odd taps on the sink, tired furnishings, patched. Everything seemed thin, curtains (which didn't quite keep out the light), the handwash, the toilet paper, the bath. The room although dated was clean, the staff were nice. The place could be lovely.

The bathroom was dirty. I have emailed the hotel with photos Shower very hot or cold. You got in the shower and as you went towards the plug area we thought the bath was going to collapse Breakfast those who had wristbands got served before us and we waited for at least 5 to 10 minutes to be asked what we wanted. Bedroom door would not open properly! I emailed hotel of my complaints and received quite a rude email back and offered 10% refund of accommodation costs which I wasn't emailing to receive discount just wanted them to know taboit the cleanliness and way we were treated at the hotel for their future customer service
