Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Smithfield

Water pressure at the sink was weak. There were children (alot-at least 7)were running through the hotel,loud, all night and day. From the pools,playing in gym etc. The pool is way smaller than expected and they had the nerve to charge our card double and of course we had to wait for them to put the money back on our card.

The staff was so nice! The only reason i gave 4 stars in some categories was because the roller cart was so so so hard to maneuver in and out of the room and elevator. The staff was do nice to assist me but even they had a hard time with it. It took 3 of us to get it into the elevator over the bumps.

The one bedroom assigned to us had so much road noise I told my wife that I felt as if had slept on a bus bench. The 25 dollar daily parking is at the rear of the hotel and is an open lot that did not feel very safe. Tina from the hotel front desk was fantastic and made our stay a pleasure regardless of the above stated concerns.

The property was fine. Internet too slow for Netflix to work.

the mattresses were HORRIBLE. the grab and go breakfast was SAD. and you had the trash cans right next to the food.the coffee was COLD. front desk person was neither friendly nor rude, we saw no other workers. pool was closed due to repairs.

The hotel was conveniently located with its proximity to I-95. Plenty of restaurants nearby and shopping at the premium outlets. The hotel rooms were clean and modern. Both hotel desk receptionists greeted us with a smile, shared with us the property amenities (including the complimentary breakfast) and offered great suggestions on nearby stores. The area felt very safe and the parking lot was well lit.

Clean room, staff is friendly, breakfast meh, great location..food, cvs, Walgreens and starbucks 2 miles away! We stay here annually. The hotel is getting old but its doing a big renovation. Can't wait to see next year!

Staff was friendly and accommodating but the hotel was less than stellar. The first room I was given had dirty sheets on the bed and the whole floor had a very offensive smell as soon as you got off the elevator that permeated the whole 2nd floor. The desk staff switched my room and floor without a problem but even the 2nd room I was given was not as clean as I would have liked. Overall our stay was ok but I have stayed at Fairfield Inns before and this one does not live up to the standards set by other properties.

Only thing I didn't like was seeing a small roach on bathroom counter top. And hot breakfast wasn't hot. Everything else was good.

Bugs in room. Photos taken. It’s my last night and no one answers at front desk. I’ve taken photos and will send to Marriott.

The staff was very courteous and professional. The room was clean and neat.

We had 2 rooms one was fine but the other had a dead cockroach and urine around the toilet. The check in lady was not pleasant but the checkout lady was very nice. Breakfast was nice.

Beautiful property; very clean room and bathroom; lovely staff; GREAT breakfast (probably the best I’ve ever experienced); great lobby and breakfast area layout.

Very nice hotel , terrible mattress you can feel the springs , definitely needed to be replaced.

Overall good hotel. Only issue was the bed felt like sleeping on boards it was so hard.

The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The room was spacious. The bed and linens were clean. The drawbacks were the many, many sources of light let into the room, from curtains around the window and window heating/cooling unit, the odd lights coming from the back of the TV, and a random plug in object that emitted bright green light. The heating/cooling unit was exceptionally loud. The stay served its purpose, but was only average to good overall.

I was under-whelmed by this property......it's pretty old. Old carpet, tv, toilet very LOW.......that's the 2000's look.

Front desk person was on a personal call when we got there, we ended up waiting at least 5 minutes before whispering at me to hand her my ID. She stayed on the call through most of the check in process. She got off the phone in time to tell us where our room was. Aside from that, the stay was pleasant. Our only other complaint is that the TV in the room was very small and I think it was actually a computer monitor, because the picture was so odd you couldn't even really watch it. At the end of the day, we'll be staying at a different hotel next time we're in Smithfield.

We were next to the expressway so the traffic was very noisy.

Air conditioner in room (210) was very noisy and annoying, but due to full house was unable to change rooms.

Assigned room across from elevator and ice machine. Noisy all night with people being Loud getting on and off elevator and getting ice. Very noisy. Also bed was not comfortable Needs new mattress Get room far from elevator next time

No one there upon check in. Waited 30 minutes for someone to arrive to check us in. Room dirty, smelly, mattress 20 years old, mildew around windows. Asked manager for room on top floor she LIED saying hotel was booked. Arrived back at hotel at midnight the keys were not working due to 2024 turning to 2025!!!! Waited 2 hours to be fixed. Not fixed. Not one apology from Manager. Will never stay here again!

Seriously disappointed for a Marriot. Cons- Upon arriving at 0140 in the morning after driving 11 hours with a family of 6, we checked in a double suite. The front desk clerk was less than enthusiastic to help us. We had to wrestle for 1 blanket, all she had she stated. We went to the room on the third floor, there was an odor in the room that was overpowering. Not foul, just odd. We went to make the couch bed, the springs were apparent and uncomfortable. There were old linens still left on it. The closet had a clear bag with new linens, but the mattress cover was stained with blood, very large area, and I don’t know if it was washed as it was crammed inside and not folded. I called the welcoming front desk and she said we had to come down and grab a new one. Then go to take a shower at 0200 and there was a completely empty shampoo bottle and only 3 towels for a 6 person suite. Called back my friend and had to run back down for the items. Pros- right off highway, double beds were comfortable, breakfast was good with a selection of items and the woman restocking was friendly and helpful. Approached front desk and spoke with the manager when checking out. She was very helpful and apologized for the issues.

Everything was good but the breakfast attendant was working hard and couldn’t keep up with the food. She also had to run the front desk. It seemed that there was a call out or was understaffed. Otherwise our stay was excellent.

Had a problem at sign in. It was resolved quickly and to great satisfaction. 👍 People where excellent and the rooms where very clean. We will continue stay at Fairfield with great pleasure. Thanks again for resolving the problem ad quick as you did.

The hotel was fine. But the staff definitely was not. Not one staff member was friendly or helpful. Every time we had to go downstairs to get something they were being rude or unhelpful to a guest. Our room never got cleaned. And no one seemed to care. We could barely get more toilet paper or extra pillows. They definitely don’t know that they work in the hospitality business.

Staff was very courteous

Hotel was fine. No one at check in desk and when they arrived not terribly friendly or helpful.

Friendly and quick check in. Very responsive to answering questions about the heat unit. Stayed here numerous times. Always clean and friendly.

There are no sidewalks to take a walk, even to just walk to dinner. Otherwise, it’s a very comfortable hotel.

Poor free breakfast - coffee out, eggs out - just not what it was in my prior visits

Overpriced for 1 night when traveling One overhead light in bathroom did.notwork and toilet ran. Food cold at breakfast Buffett.

Breakfast food not fresh.

We stayed 2 nites. Check in was delayed due to some computer problem. When resolved they had our dates wrong. We resolved that. Got to room, tv was not working, so they moved us to another room, same problem. Around 930 that nite we stopped trying. Never was fixed. 1st breakfast was very good. Deborah kept buffet suppled. Pancake maker was broke both days. 2nd day someone else setup breakfast and there was hardly anything and it was not hot. No coffee in the dispensers. This was not up to this hotel stanards. Would try again another time.

Stay there often. Staff freindly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Coffee was good too. Recommend.

Good breakfast

The room was too warm. Every time we adjust the thermostat it would go back up. The breakfast was extremely disappointing and we decided not to eat there but had to stop elsewhere which took time we were not expecting to have on a long drive
