We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Very clean and comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. Parking is provided which is accessible from a back road. The sign for it was a bit small, so I drove past it once trying to find it.

This is a lovely hotel right in the heart of the beautiful town of Chipping Camden. Our room was really quirky with a free standing bath in the bedroom area and a really unusual orthopaedic bed which I found really comfortable but my husband not quite as much. The lift wasn’t working when we stayed so we had to walk up 2 flights of stairs each time. We booked an afternoon tea which was really nice including 4 perfectly made scones. The service was a bit hit & miss though, which we also found at dinner. All the staff were very friendly but it felt like we were left a long time when we had afternoon tea and at one point I had to go out to reception to ask for 2 drinks. At dinner and breakfast it seemed that some staff weren’t able to take orders or take away empty plates and this was confusing but also seemed odd when it was so quiet. Also we found the choice of music being played at meal times really odd and not always suitable to the time of day. At breakfast for example they played a cover I think of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ or something similar which is not ‘morning’ lyrics. I’m not at all prudish but it just seemed odd and incongruous. We used the Spa which was really nice. It’s useful to know that you needed to get to it by leaving through the front entrance to the hotel and walking round and through the long garden, so we made sure we were wrapped up as it was very cold during our visit, but the spa itself is lovely. Overall I would still recommend this hotel to stay.

Will the Cotswolds are Beautiful! I wish I had taken advantage of the pool. Breakfast was lovely. My room had a beautiful balcony looking out to the back gardens.

Beautiful looking hotel both inside and outside. We were booked into hot tub cottage as part of my birthday weekend celebration with my hubby and our small dog (great enclosed private garden). However, having checked in and taken ourselves off to explore the lovely village, I received a call from hotel to inform us the hot tub was unsafe to use (temperature issues). Although the hotel did compensate, it did however dampen the occasion as this was the reason for choosing both the hotel and the room. The overall experience was ok, food in bar area lovely. We didn’t do breakfast as really just wanted to move on to explore more of the Cotswolds

The hotel itself is nice but maintenance has clearly been slipping over the last few years. The garden is beautiful but overgrown, we had a leak in the bathroom that could be seen from downstairs and the sofa in the restaurant looked ready to collapse and frankly dangerous. The spa pool was also looking tired but overall had a good feel about it. We were greeted by a receptionist who was cold and everything was clearly too much effort. She was verging on rude. Bar staff were slow and generally absent meaning long waits. The staff in the breakfast room and spa were the only ones taking any pride in their work and who seemed to put any effort in. They were friendly and restored some faith in our being welcome. You need to book in a time for breakfast and order hot food the night before. This would almost make sense if it was recorded so we didn’t all turn up at the same time which was the case in one of the mornings making booking a complete waste of time. The food for breakfast was mediocre and prevented us from staying in for dinner. Having said all of that we enjoyed our stay because we had a cottage with a private garden and hot tub. The hot tub was clean and worked well with no bad smells which is not always the case. The spa facilities were good and the staff there were friendly and helpful. There is a croquet lawn which was great fun although no one on reception ever knew where the set was up kept. Overall it felt like a hotel that needs some tlc.

Convenient central location difficult to find as scaffolding in front of sign. However very friendly staff calming atmosphere very clean and car park a plus. The food was excellent fabulous evening meal.

I paid £300 for one night at this hotel. It was too much, but they claimed that they have an electric car charger.Unfortunately, I was not able to connect to it. It was dark at the car park and no success after 30 minutes of trying, Though room looked nice, TV did not work, neither table lamp; the sink was not letting water go down.I nearly flooded the room. With all these problems, no ‘sorry’ was heard from the hotel . No any VIP perks either. Much overpriced. Will not come back

Great breakfast, bistro food was good. Grounds v nice. Staff tries hard, but the facility makes their jobs more challenging.

This is a listed property so no lift and plenty of stairs. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room clean. En suite a little quirky. For some reason the sink is only 2 feet from the floor and at 6ft 5 inches it was difficult not to turn it into a paddling pool. The food was acceptable but not of a high standard.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, the only issue was a dog barking in the room below us. Also, we had to ring down to reception 3 times before they brought us some milk that had been omitted to be re filled by the cleaner. Other than those two minor issues we would highly recommend the hotel to others.

Very rude female clerk at check-in. Given attic room with bed at one end of the room and bathtub at other. No shower. Separate windowless loo. Attuc beams made walking without hitting one's head difficult. Parking far from reception and difficult to access.

Our room was really quirky with a free standing bath in the bedroom area and a really unusual orthopaedic bed which I found really comfortable but my husband not quite as much. The lift wasn’t working when we stayed so we had to walk up 2 flights of stairs each time. We booked an afternoon tea which was really nice including 4 perfectly made scones. The service was a bit hit & miss though, which we also found at dinner. All the staff were very friendly but it felt like we were left a long time when we had afternoon tea and at one point I had to go out to reception to ask for 2 drinks. At dinner and breakfast it seemed that some staff weren’t able to take orders or take away empty plates and this was confusing but also seemed odd when it was so quiet. Also we found the choice of music being played at meal times really odd and not always suitable to the time of day. At breakfast for example they played a cover I think of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ or something similar which is not ‘morning’ lyrics. I’m not at all prudish but it just seemed odd and incongruous. We used the Spa which was really nice. It’s useful to know that you needed to get to it by leaving through the front entrance to the hotel and walking round and through the long garden, so we made sure we were wrapped up as it was very cold during our visit, but the spa itself is lovely. Overall I would still recommend this hotel to stay.

If you're debating whether or not to stay here, I suggest you book it! The location is perfect, the rooms are large, well appointed and clean. And the breakfast is more than you'd expect. We were very happy with our stay.

We had a wonderful getaway at the hotel. We were very pleased with the room - it was a cottage junior suite and we liked how we had our own space as it spanned the length of the cottage upstairs.

Wow! What a beautiful hotel. Just a stunning Cotswold stone pile with gorgeous gardens and my room is so lovely that i am gutted. i am only here for one night. Lovely big bed, lounge and a huge bathroom. It needed to be to accommodate an half egg shaped stone bath. I will definitely return and choose this room and stay longer so i can fully enjoy the hotel, my room, and the spa plus explore the village.

Yes, the facility is amazing but the customer service was beyond any previous experience Lucy was unbelievable. My daughter took ill and had to go to the hospital. I could not have pulled it off without Lucy and Alice.

Very rude female clerk at check-in. Given attic room with bed at one end of the room and bathtub at other. No shower. Separate windowless loo. Attuc beams made walking without hitting one's head difficult. Parking far from reception and difficult to access.

Cotswolds House Hotel & Spa From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel truly welcome. We were greeted by a wonderful pair of staff – a gentleman and a young lady – both exceptionally polite, friendly, and genuinely interested in making our stay special. They asked about our plans, offered helpful suggestions, and even arranged a taxi for our evening out – such thoughtful, above-and-beyond service. Our room was lovely: comfortable, well-presented, and stocked with beautifully scented body wash and creams that added a touch of luxury. Breakfast service the next morning was a little on the slow side, and the English breakfast itself was smaller than expected, but it was still tasty. Overall, we had an excellent stay. The location is perfect, the staff outstanding, and the hotel itself full of charm. We would be very happy to return.

The hotel itself is nice but maintenance has clearly been slipping over the last few years. The garden is beautiful but overgrown, we had a leak in the bathroom that could be seen from downstairs and the sofa in the restaurant looked ready to collapse and frankly dangerous. The spa pool was also looking tired but overall had a good feel about it. We were greeted by a receptionist who was cold and everything was clearly too much effort. She was verging on rude. Bar staff were slow and generally absent meaning long waits. The staff in the breakfast room and spa were the only ones taking any pride in their work and who seemed to put any effort in. They were friendly and restored some faith in our being welcome. You need to book in a time for breakfast and order hot food the night before. This would almost make sense if it was recorded so we didn’t all turn up at the same time which was the case in one of the mornings making booking a complete waste of time. The food for breakfast was mediocre and prevented us from staying in for dinner. Having said all of that we enjoyed our stay because we had a cottage with a private garden and hot tub. The hot tub was clean and worked well with no bad smells which is not always the case. The spa facilities were good and the staff there were friendly and helpful. There is a croquet lawn which was great fun although no one on reception ever knew where the set was up kept. Overall it felt like a hotel that needs some tlc.

Very comfortable, centrally located in a beautiful, historical setting, nicely appointed and equipped room. The breakfast buffet is limited by space but the prepared breakfasts are excellent. Terrific location for exploring the Cotswolds.

We stayed 4 nights in this very charming and elegant hotel and we loved everything about it. We paid for half-board, which means our breakfasts and dinners were included. We were very glad we did, as every meal was excellent and the food was not only presented beautifully, but was delicious as well. Our room (#23) was large and spacious and the bathroom worked well also, with sufficient space for toiletries. The stand-alone shower was rather small, but really not a problem given how nice everything else was. The grounds and garden areas of the hotel were a lovely surprise. Much larger than we would have thought, with many separate areas to sit privately and enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine. We also had their Afternoon Tea service, which was wonderful! Johan served us several of our meals and he was a very attentive and interesting person that we enjoyed talking with. We would definitely recommend staying at the Cotswold House Hotel - you will feel very pampered if you do!

Considering the charge per night I was disappointed with the atmosphere of the hotel..no log fire burning when we came into reception and everything was a bit plain. They also charge extra for different coffees at breakfast and then charge “gratuities” on your bill at the end of the stay..making the conversation awkward if you wanted to remove it!

Lovely little hotel, friendly staff, but need to completely rethink their chef/food options. Had dinner first night, and it wasn’t great. Trying to be, but failing dismally. Breakfast was awful. Full breakfast consisted of one chipolata, one slice of bacon, half a mushroom (I kid not!), hash brown, 19 baked beans and half a tomato. The ‘smashed’ avocado the next day was just awful - consistency of a heavily puréed avo. Not pleasant. Such a shame that such laziness with the food spoils such a lovely little hotel.

We had a great stay. Breakfast was good with lots of choice, the room was clean and comfortable and very quiet and the Cocktail bar had a nice atmosphere. The hotel is brilliantly located for exporing the Cotswolds and is also right in the centre of the village. We would absolutely stay here again

The room was on the worn side. There was a panel missing from the large mirror, and although the bath tub in the room is a nice feature the surrounding area has water damaged floors.

Our room was very small with a tiny corner shower - felt like we were in the box room. Furniture was dated and general feel of the room was a bit chaotic. Breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly. Wanted to use the pool on Sunday morning before breakfast but it didn't open until 10am. The hotel was in a good location but felt very poor value for money.

A fabulous stay with Cotswold House Hotel and Spa. The staff were efficient and friendly through the hotel. The room was spacious and had a very comfortable bed. There were plenty of spaces in the car park with 3 EV chargers for us to use, our car was fully charged in 4 hours. The food was amazing! I cannot recommend this hotel enough.
