Good location near the Gateshead Quayside with ample secure parking. Hotel fixtures and fittings are a little tired but clean and fully functional. NB Access across the Tyne bridge is limited due to refurb, so you may want to use the swing bridge and check your SatNav

Stayed here one night to attend a concert at the Arena in Newcastle . I had booked it quite well in advance and was a bit dubious about some of the reviews . I can honestly say we had an enjoyable stay . Hotel was spotless , staff were friendly , the room was on the 3rd floor , had everything we needed , iron , hairdryer and coffee & tea making facilities . Parking was ample and at £10 a night good value compared to over the river . I would definitely recommend.

As always, a great hotel with big extremely clean rooms, a fantastic bar area and excellent staff. It’s my favourite hotel in Newcastle/Gateshead. One morning, I had to ask the cleaning ladies to keep their voices down as they were talking very loudly. However, they were very polite, apologised, and made a real effort to be quiet while cleaning the rooms next to mine. Thank you!

As always, a great hotel with big extremely clean rooms, a fantastic bar area and excellent staff. It’s my favourite hotel in Newcastle/Gateshead. Overall fine. The only downside was £10 per night parking on a rough area as main parking was full. Was also called by phone whilst out enjoying to move my car to accommodate coaches, this spoilt our first night. The hotel should review the parking issue giving priority to paying guests, not staff, and mark an area for coach parking.

Stayed for 1 night chose the hotel for the location and car park which were both good. It is around a 10/15 minute walk to the centre of Newcastle but that is uphill. Check in/out was easy staff were polite friendly. Room was clean a good size. Would stay here again.

Spent a two night stay here, arriving late and only just managing to squeeze into the car park. Parking is a bit steep at £8 per night, especially when half the carpark is unpaved rough ground, and when all the paperwork completed at reception states that parking is £5 per night. The welcome from staff was friendly however, and check in was a delight. My room was perfectly comfortable but the decor was somewhat past its best. For some reason I'd been given a room designed for the accessibility of wheelchair users. This was fine except it meant the bathroom sink was very low and I'm quite tall and with a bad back, so not ideal. The breakfast was good but somewhat limited for the price - mushrooms and scrambled eggs would have been my choice but alas, there were neither. I tried the room service one night - the cajun chicken burger was tasty but the sour cream and salsa which should have been oozing out of the sides, were nought but a smear, which meant it was disappointingly dry. Chef could have been a bit more generous there. Overall, a comfortable stay. Four out of five.

Lovely hotel, fantastic service from the reception staff. Room was lovely and clean. Breakfast, well the choice of food was good for cooked breakfast, yet there was no pastries at all. Had to ask for cups, glasses, knives and it came across as this was a chore for the staff. Usual issue with the juice machines, out of a few juices.

Lovely welcoming service at reception and bar / restaurant area. Room is large and comfortable if dated and dusty. Bathroom and bedding clean but dust on things like remote control, drinks tray etc. Good decent for a hotel bar but bar area absolutely chaos with people who seem to have no social skills - people having loud conversations on speakerphone, screaming kids, drunk adults and possibly the rudest, noisiest tour group I've ever encountered. On the whole though good value for money.

The room looked recently decorated but dirty stains on ceilings and walls - abuse from previous guests. The floors had not been cleaned as there were hairs, dust and fluff everywhere. Friendly staff.

Hotel is convenient, 5-7 min walk to all dining options by the river, but hotel itself are very basic rooms are on the smaller side and there is no AC and windows only open like a small slit which does not even ventilate the room properly, and on warmer days it is even worse, the hotel thankfully provided a small fan which helped a little

Modernish hotel near the Baltic on Gateshead quayside with ample, easily accessible parking. Road noise is noticeable if you're on that side of the hotel, and the window may need to be open, as there is no air conditioning.

Beds (both double bed and sofa bed) were uncomfortable. Window partially damaged and hard to open and close. The shower/bathroom was a bit impractical. Overall, room and price were still OK.

Large room, very clean , no air-con. No plugs near bed. Window didnt open as key missing so we asked for a key , or to supply a fan. That didn't happen, so when we got back for the night we asked again, and very helpfully a large fan was provided. Some plug sockets dont work. Breakfast was fine, friendly service by all staff in hotel

good location, easy check in, room ok, a little small for a Family room, sofa bed was very uncomfortable, with little room to manoeuvre around it, poor nights sleep, then had a shower in the morning and bathroom flooded, the drain cannot cope with the water quick enough, probably won't stay here again

Bed was comfy. Shower was adequate. Buffet breakfast as with every one, is quite hit n miss, as you need to get there went the fresh stuff is brought out. One incident left a very sour taste in the mouth. On our 2nd night we ordered food via just eat. We were sat in the bar watching the front door. Just eat delivery arrived , and we received confirmation via just eat, it had arrived. The night security chap refused to give us our food. We asked polietly, what he had ordered, as we had been sat in the bar and saw the delivery arrive. A reception member of staff came over, and asked where the food had been ordeed from , to clear up any misunderstanding. No response from the chap. Both myself and the receptionist rang our take away and said, it had been dropped off in the hotel.We walked away, went back up to our room and ordered again via another establishment. This was delivered outside the hotel on my instruction. On walking back through the hotel i noticed a further 2 x takeaways behing security chap.....coincidence??

Check in was slow as only 1 person on the desk. Breakfast was ok at best. Shower gel in the bathroom had run out. Hotel is a little out of the way and £10 parking is not cheap

The hotel itself is fine. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Good location, especially when arriving by car. Alas, I was charged twice for the room, and am still waiting for this error to be resolved. Whether this was due to a glitch with Hotels.com or the hotel is a good question.

We have stayed at Ramada hotel for the past 3 year's and always been pleased with the hotel. Nice welcome and room was okay, the sofa bed was horrible and could not use to sit on. What a horrible abrupt at reception today on our return. This is the first time we have experience this and definitely do not want to have again.

All good for the purpose. Easy parking, clean throughout, quiet at night, walkable distance to city centre. Exceptionally friendly and efficient, helpful staff in every contact.

Will definitely use this hotel again because of the staff and overall cleanliness and decor. The front desk and servers at breakfast could not have been more friendly and helpful. I travel a lot and don’t always have such a welcoming atmosphere! The ladies at breakfast were particularly amiable.

Lovely staff and a nice room, the bed wasn’t too comfortable but it was all very clean. The only issue we had was receiving a phone call through the room phone at 00:30 on our second night, which woke us both from a deep sleep but cut out before we could answer (presumably the staff member realised they had misdialled). It may have been accidental but is the reason for awarding 4 stars.

Nice rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast. However, the hotels online check in system resulted in me being charged twice, although I received an apology and a refund when I pointed this out

Very clean. Super comfy bed and bedding. Short walk to Quayside. Long walk to Central Station or Newcastle centre. Great location for Gateshead International Stadium. Great staff.

Well located hotel ideal for the Glasshouse (aka The Sage) in Gateshead but also near Millennium bridge to get over to the quayside. Good value compared to others in the area/across the river. Modern, clean, just the job.

Good location near the Gateshead Quayside with ample secure parking. Hotel fixtures and fittings are a little tired but clean and fully functional. NB Access across the Tyne bridge is limited due to refurb, so you may want to use the swing bridge and check your SatNav

Decent location, carpark was ok but one part was gravel with a bank that required cautious driving. Ask for a room the is not above the entrance as it was busy and the smoke shelter was there, so quite loud at times.

Stayed for 1 night chose the hotel for the location and car park which were both good. It is around a 10/15 minute walk to the centre of Newcastle but that is uphill. Check in/out was easy staff were polite friendly. Room was clean a good size. Would stay here again.

I booked this hotel as way cheaper than any other in newcastle for a saturday night. Paid approx £55 for room which is very cheap for newcastle. It actually on gateshead side of quay but a only a few minute walk down to foot bridge and your over in to newcastle. Be warned its a big steep bank up to central newcastle . Loads everywhere in newcastle pubs restaurants and history. Hotel is really good clean, smart and room wes great even had a iron and board which is great for a budget hotel. Never ate or drank in hotel so cant comment on those but if your looking for a cheap n cheerful hotel close enough to everything tgen i suggest the ramada.

A lovely overnight stay at Gateshead. Clean spacious room with a very large (King) bed. Could have done with taking some light shoes or slippers as the floor was not carpeted although this was good for hygiene. Good breakfast with excellent quality sausage and bacon. Eggs were replaced frequently. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Stayed over after a gig at The Glasshouse (5 minutes walk).

Lovely hotel, fantastic service from the reception staff. Room was lovely and clean. Breakfast, well the choice of food was good for cooked breakfast, yet there was no pastries at all. Had to ask for cups, glasses, knives and it came across as this was a chore for the staff. Usual issue with the juice machines, out of a few juices.

Wanted an affordable place to stay after a gig at the Glasshouse. This was ideal. Walkable, plenty of parking and a really good breakfast. In fact, the gluten free options were some of the best I've come across at a budget hotel. Dinner options are less good.

A bit rough but ok. Beds were clean and towels were clean. Shower worked well. Hotel was quiet on a night, food was average but it served a purpose.

Spent a two night stay here, arriving late and only just managing to squeeze into the car park. Parking is a bit steep at £8 per night, especially when half the carpark is unpaved rough ground, and when all the paperwork completed at reception states that parking is £5 per night. The welcome from staff was friendly however, and check in was a delight. My room was perfectly comfortable but the decor was somewhat past its best. For some reason I'd been given a room designed for the accessibility of wheelchair users. This was fine except it meant the bathroom sink was very low and I'm quite tall and with a bad back, so not ideal. The breakfast was good but somewhat limited for the price - mushrooms and scrambled eggs would have been my choice but alas, there were neither. I tried the room service one night - the cajun chicken burger was tasty but the sour cream and salsa which should have been oozing out of the sides, were nought but a smear, which meant it was disappointingly dry. Chef could have been a bit more generous there. Overall, a comfortable stay. Four out of five.

Reception staff on arrival completely ignored us despite seeing us walk in, not even an acknowledgement. Guy then handed me a form to sign with no pen. Not at all welcoming. Room ok but bathroom/wet room was dirty and smelt of urine. Room Door had a gash out of it. Not a hotel to bring children. Cheap but tired and I felt slightly insecure as a police car arrived. Will not use again.

Everything about the stay was good, we just needed a bed for the night and that’s exactly what we got, facilities were fine but very few plugs and no USB’s which for us was a pain but the staff were very nice and the breakfast did the job before moving on.
