Good location to explore Newcastle. Secure, large car park. The only annoying part is the code for the barriers changes daily so always check with reception before leaving. The room was unfortunately rather in need of refurbishment and didn't look that clean.Toilet was also leaking slightly and the sink was almost fully blocked.

Disappointing stay! The reception staff tried to charge me twice, even though I'd already paid for the room. The room wasn't entirely clean. The bathroom area had the remnants of little faecal balls where the previous resident has wiped their arse. I had to go down to reception again to obtain 2 fresh mugs and spoons as they had coffee stains down the side. They had obviously only had a quick rinse and not been washed. There were lots of glasses and bottles together with the the ice bucket outside next doors room which had been there from the previous morning. It was also a puzzle why a Henry vacuum cleaner had just been left in the middle of the corridor overnight for someone to trip over. I'd asked for a quiet room which reception said had been given. I was looking forward to a lay in bed in the morning for a change. So it was lovely to hear at 7.20 am, the sound of a bin lorry reversing to the retching noise they normally make together with the clatter of the bins being emptied. No lay in then! The downstairs toilets near the breakfast bar had a particular pungent smell at around 11 am when I used them. I'd give them a miss next time. Good things - well it's ideal if you want to go to The Glasshouse to watch a concert being only a 5 mins walk away and it's not to far to the bridges over the Tyne. If you don't want to use the restaurant then there is a Greggs only 5 min walk away which is basically in the middle of the industrial units.
