Azura Beach Resort - All Inclusive - Adults Only

The property was nice and newer than many of the surrounding hotels; however, there was a section that was under construction. The sister hotel was under repair as well. However, I was able to use their small exercise room since the primary hotel does not have one. This fact was a surprise as I was under the impression that my hotel had one. Although the hotel surroundings and landscape were lovely, my reservation, which indicated that I would have a partial ocean view, did not reflect my room at all. I was given a room with a nice balcony and a view of the courtyard and walkway. The food options were nice. The pool was great, and the beach seating area was perfect! Suggestions: take plenty of mosquito repellant, speak with an agent if you want an ocean view, and be ready to relax because it is very secluded and quiet. Overall, I had a nice time and would go back.

The view from the pool looking onto the beach is dreamy. Property is quiet, not much going on after dinner hours. Limit access around the property as they are in the middle of some updates. Dinner ends at 10 for all the restaurants. The chill and grill was great. The fish tacos amazing (mahi-mahi fish) the surf and turf with mashed potatoes good. The Italian restaurant is good as well. I had the risotto(shrimp) and the Asian restaurant was ok but the beef and broccoli was a little salty.

The property was nice. The only complaint I have is that lights were out at 10 PM. If you’re looking for nightlife, this is not the resort for you.

Modern et belle plage. Le service laisse à désirer. Pas assez d’employés, le service de restauration est ultra lent. Ca prenez jusqu’à 1h30-2h00 pour être servis. Il n’y a aucunes activités (yoga, pilatis, etc). Le gym est minuscule et très peu équipé. Potentiel énorme mais encore beaucoup de travail.

Excellent resort. Staff was friendly and went over and above when we had a medical emergency. Food and beverages were great although everything shuts down at 10ish. Rooms were clean, spacious and well maintained. We had minor issue with reoccurring door lock malfunctions but were generally fixed quickly. The beach is gorgeous and safe although they could use more chairs and umbrellas to avoid limited seating in the shade. Also beach towels appeared to be in short supply. Overall I would go back in a heart beat. We heard other people complaining at the front desk but we didn’t experience anything that would have made us complain.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Loved the pool and the beach. It wasn’t busy in early November. The bar services excellent cocktails with quality alcohol. Friendly staff. Loved the certified yoga instructor. More 8am classes would be awesome Cons-AC not working in gym. Increasing size of gym would be an asset. Terrible bathroom, designs a solid door would help.

This isn’t a large resort. Everything closes at 10 literally everything. I don’t like that the restaurant only opened on certain nights and I had a swim up room but no one came to clean the leaves out the pool other then once at night when we’re trying to get dress. The staff was slow moving. All request had to go through WhatsApp and I found my self sending the same text more than once. No live activity, games, or entertainment on this resort which I didn’t like. Food was good, drinks depending on who made them if they was good or not. This resort is for relaxing only that’s it.

Very pretty hotel and staff is friendly. My only complaint is the pool was not clean nor was it circulating water, so it was stagnate with people making it worse. Also the pool bartender had to keep leaving for supply reasons, so took forever to get drinks. We just walked over to main bar each time we wanted a drink. Lastly, the food could have been better but it was edible. Super quiet and relaxing though with pretty ocean and beach.

It was okay, only good if you just want to relax! Theres no activities or entertainment & everything closes at 10pm on the resort. Food was good and staff were nice.

Hotel was very late checking us in, room was very dirty

DO NOT BOOK HERE. We checked in and our entire room was filthy. The bed had blood and urine stains all over. The bathroom fixtures were all rusted and the sink was leaking anytime we turned the water on. The roof had BLACK MOLD all over it. The couch had stains and mold all over. The shower head was dirty and had mold on the corners. The resort pool water was too low for the filter and the water was basically just sitting and not filtering at all. The gym was a joke. The door handle is a zip tie. The walls have mold and termites eating away at them. The equipment broke halfway through a workout and we were hurt by the impact of falling. This resort is a complete joke. Not even half a star. To make matters worse, the hotel staff are complete liars and they refused to allow me to speak to anyone in charge. They would not provide management or any corporate contact. STAY AWAY. Check photographs!!

This kind of summarizes our experience at Azura Beach Resort: we went to get pool towels at the front desk on our third day, when we wanted to just go relax at the pool, and they said they only had one left. . . . . that the dryer needed 30 more minutes. It was 9:00 am. We checked back about 3 hours later, and they said the same thing, "need 30 more minutes." I knew we were in trouble with the place when we checked in, and asked for two keys to our room. They said "We don't have enough to give you two keys." The folks working there work very hard with a smile on their face, but management has GOT to hire more workers, and they've got to do a better job of managing the place. The wifi in our room was non existent. We complained, and they said they would fix it. It got worse. It didn't work in our room the last 3 nights, so we had to use our own paid for data which was a waste of money, and were not able to use the TV to watch movies, etc. On multiple times, we asked for ice to be delivered to our room, it's the only way to get it, and it took more than an our to get it. The room was beautiful, it was very, very nice. We had the honeymoon suite. The food is good. There are no snacks in the room, and drinks are very limited there too; just 2 beers in our mini fridge upon arrival, although they did go out and get us requested liquor, which was a nice touch. Overall, read a lot of reviews on the place. Not a top notch all inclusive resort. I would give 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Jocelyn in the restaurants was terrific, as was the bartender at the swim up pool! Undoubtedly the nicest property in Samara, the staff was constantly cleaning the floors, pool, etc.

The property was not clean and frequently had to request that the swim up pool be cleaned and filtered. The awning in the room fell and hit me but staff refused to do anything about it other than take it out the room. Staff was very dismissive.

My stay at Azura was fantastic! Everything about this adult-only hotel felt relaxing and well thought out. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The staff were incredibly attentive and always went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. One of the biggest highlights was the beach of Carrillo, located right next to the property — absolutely stunning and peaceful, easily the highlight of the entire trip. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I’m giving it four stars only because nothing’s ever completely perfect, but this came very close! I’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, adults-only getaway.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days and honestly it was ok. The rooms are clean but pools are dirty. No real entertainment like other resorts. You have to request room cleaning everyday , maid does not come without request. Food is good but variation is limited, nothing to do in resort and everything closes at 10 pm, so it was pretty boring most of the time. Activities are also pretty far from resort.

Il y a tout pour que ce soit parfait, mais les employés semble laissé à eux mêmes ( ils sont très gentil mais semble manquer de formation ou de support d\'un gérant. Un employé est venu ouvrir notre porte de chambre en pleine nuit car une personne ( qui a abusé du tout inclus niveau alcool) disait que c\'était SA chambre. Il aurait pu vérifier un peu avant de procéder...il manque "d\'amour" au niveau de l\'entretien du site et des batiments. C\'est triste pour un beau complexe relativement neuf.

Where do I start? We were pleasantly surprised with the condition of the property. We had an ocean front swim up pool. Let me just say, there are no ocean front rooms at this resort, trust me, we looked for them. Our room faced the pool and if you are in the private pool you may get a partial view of the ocean. The food was pretty good, but limited. You only get two restaurant choices per night and one small breakfast buffet in the morning. It’s a cute boutique hotel and the ambiance exceeded our expectations. Room service was horrible… it took a long time and it was not good at all. The champagne and wine was pretty good. The drinks and food were not consistent, sometime the drinks and food are great and others places or times it’s just ok. The pool water was warm and clean. The beach was clean. The resort was clean. The air conditioning worked as expected! The wildlife is pretty loud at night, but otherwise the property is mellow and quiet. The staff are friendly and attentive. We had some problems with our privacy window, but it was fixed immediately. It’s a 2 hour and 20 minute ride from the airport. We booked a private car, and the time passed quickly. They have great excursion packages. We did a sea life tour, which consisted of snorkeling and dolphin watching…we loved it! I would suggest the resort install fans in the restaurants and bar areas… it gets quiet humid and hot. Overall, we would not mind returning to the hotel

Large clean room, nice bed. Small but nice pool. Amazing location. We stayed “all inclusive”. The food was a bit below expectations at such a quality hotel, and many dishes on the menu was never available. The staff was rather unstructured, late to take orders, forgot orders taken, delivered starters at the same time as main dish etc. Having said that, almost all the staff was always smiling and really tried their best. The drinks were ok.

The property was as described, quiet, low key, adults only. Most of the staff were very pleasant, and attentive. The downside, excursions were only available on certain days, we didn't know this until it was too late. There was only 1 working ATV for that tour. Most of the other tours were 2-3 hours away from the resort, for that reason we didn't do any. The resort is a solid 2 hour drive from the airport. Our room was clean, but replacement towels and glasses were hard to get and our air conditioner rattled loudly every night. We didn't ask for it to be fixed, because it still worked. There are no staff on site between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am, we didn't want to risk asking to fix the A/C unit for fear that it might stop during the night, so we listened to the rattle every night we were there. We did go to Samara to shop a little, but the red taxi couldn't come and get us for over an hour, so we walked back. I would give the resort 3.5. Good, but still areas for improvement.

To be improved: Customer Service: There is a Whatsapp number that you need to reach out to book dinners at their different restaurants and book tours, the issue is that there is only 1 person to answer the chat and has other duties so it takes somewhere between 2 and 4 hours to get an answer… Staff: It seems that there is no management and to train new people, if you ask for their food service times they all say something different so you don’t really know if breakfast time is over or not or if it is snack time or whatever. Morning Snack Time: We were at the hotel 4 days, some staff said morning snacks were at 9 am, some other at 10 am and some at noon, the thing is that there was no morning snack time in any of the four days, one day a lady just said “the guy who cooks didn’t come”… so, solve it, if not is it even all inclusive?… then other day the guy showed up at 11:20, and starting organizing some stuff in the kitchen so that time passed by, lunch time and he left, 40 minutes doing nothing… Jorge or George: he is just lost, we don’t know if it was that he wasn’t trained or something but he asked for our order 3 different meal times and he forgot all 3, there had to be someone else checking orders because George was completely lost… Wifi: The Wifi is just useless, no connection and when it connects is super slow… and it doesn’t get to 3rd floor, it just connect but their isnt.

This hotel is a scam. There are no ocean view rooms. The hotel is set back from the beach with large trees blocking the view. The hotel is 3 stories tall so u can’t really see the ocean. It’s a beautiful view, but don’t expect an ocean view if u are paying extra for one. They “upgraded” us to a ground floor pool view with no tub even though we booked an ocean view tub suite. We pushed back and finally got the room we booked but we were disappointed to see there was no ocean view. Additionally, The bathroom had black mold all around the shower floor, the curtains were broken so we had no privacy. The couch in the room was dirty, our bed frame was stained with a suspicious liquid. We were locked out of our room multiple times and had to wait for a technician to open to our door. We saw other guests experiencing to the same thing. No hot water when we tried to shower. Chemicals were poured into the pool while guests were swimming. Breakfast buffet was barely edible. We booked for 6 nights but packed our bags and left 2 days later. They are refusing to refund us for the remainder of our stay but we don’t care because we are so grateful to no longer be in that nightmare of a resort. If you are well travelled and expect a 4 star experience, you will be greatly disappointed. Also please avoid the gym, my husband almost broke his ankle using their treadmill because the treadmill carpet kept sticking and randomly stopping. They also make their workers work 18 hours a day. Terrible.

Overall great place! FAR from San Jose airport tho! Jazmin and Alejandro are amazing! The food was great, and overall the place is BEAUTIFUL. Our room AC wasn’t the coldest at night, and the larger pools pump was NEVER on. So as someone who managed a pool company at a time in my life, that’s not the best. Hope they get it fixed. But great time, made some cool friends, and the wet bar is the best!

NOT A PARTY RESORT. Our door key stopped working 5x on the first day, it took forever to fix. No valet service if you decide to show up with your own car. Food at the restaurants was below average. We left without finishing our meals at every restaurant and got food poisoning on the last day! The food at the lunch spot was not great. We did not enjoy the nachos and fish tacos. No flavour ALL restaurants for dinner are reservation only and you have to make the reservations in person at the front desk every day. You can’t even book for the next day. If you don’t get an early dinner reservation you get stuck with a late reservation! The morning buffet was very basic and small. One day all the tables were full and we had to wait ! The beach is beautiful but there are not enough beach chairs or sunbrellas. And even if you try to reserve a chair early, people will take your stuff and throw it aside. The front desk uses WhatsApp to communicate with you (they don’t answer the phone) but you can not actually make any reservations on WhatsApp, you have to do everything in person at the front desk - including getting your beach/pool towels! Front desk is only open from 7AM-10PM. If you’re checking out before the desk opens without informing them the night before: good luck! The pool was murky when we arrived. Our experience on food, service and cleanliness was a mere 1/10 Location and environment was 9/10. Pura Vida✌️

This was a great vacation and all of the staff were very friendly. It’s a two hour drive from Liberia but is quieter than most all inclusive resorts which is what we were looking for. They had rotating restaurants to reserve for dinner with unique menus and made great drinks.

We have gone to quite a few all inclusive hotels and this was by far one of best ones. This place was absolutely incredible! Really well kept, super clear. The staff was amazing, very accommodating, the food at every one of restaurants was really good. We also booked massages at their spa, by far one of the best massages we’ve ever had! We went to the spa on our last day and we wished we had gone earlier so that we could have gone back a second time. We did the sunset excursion which was super fun. I cannot say enough good things about this resort, we cannot wait to go back and we will.

I wanted to love this property, but it fell short of being a true all-inclusive 5-star experience. The food was subpar, and you have to schedule your meal time with the concierge every morning. They were understaffed, and it takes a while to receive any orders; However, the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. It's a great place if you want to just relax and not be around a lot of people.

The staff are top notch class act 5 star. The food was really good as well. Clean hotel and rooms. Would definitely return back for another stay.

It was an amazing experience. The beach is beautiful. The town is so cute and you can walk from the beach. Everyone was so nice.

Nice little spot. Chill pool vibes and awesome quiet beach great for swimming. Rooms were big, clean, and modern. We did an awesome kayak tour of the nearby island, highly recommend that. Food/drink was okay could be better.

Beautiful location right on the beach, lovely rooms, very friendly staff, great breakfast buffet, drinks and good food, especially in Chill and Grill. Food can take a little long to arrive from time to time but it didn’t ruin our experience. Relaxed all-inclusive experience. PURA VIDA! We were a family of six adults and would absolutely go back!

It’s super remote so if you wanna be in a city like area it’s not for you but other than that it was cool I just thought it was in a bigger city it was super remote nothing going on there at all it’s far from everything you would wanna do I would recommend you stay in San Jose or something but it was a great resort other than being away from everything

This was a great vacation and all of the staff were very friendly. It’s a two hour drive from Liberia but is quieter than most all inclusive resorts which is what we were looking for. They had rotating restaurants to reserve for dinner with unique menus and made great drinks.

This was our second trip to Azure, there is so much local flavor here if you are looking for a quiet relaxing getaway? This is the place! The staff is so friendly and kind. Waking up with a quick swim in the wonderful pool or the ocean followed by an amazing breakfast. And if you want adventure Azure is ready to provide. Rain Forrest,zip lining, razor Atv's, horseback riding, fishing it's all here!

The resort is very nice, definitely enjoyed our experience here. The food was good, and staff was super friendly. Not able to get Ubers but hotel helped with calling a taxi which was very easy (though only takes cash). It’s far from the airport but we loved our stay here

What a wonderful resort. The beds were comfortable the air conditioning appreciated and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Also, when you stay at an all inclusive resort it can tend to have mediocre food. That was not the case with this property. Our lunches and dinners were fantastic and it just added to our trip being delicious and relaxing!

The hotel is in a nice location on the West Coast of Costa Rica. It is a smaller hotel. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean, however the daily service in not reliable. Several times they ran out of towels. The only negative point is dining/food. There are very limited choices - 3 restaurants - and some day only 2 restaurants are open. The menu selections are also limited. While the food is fresh and well prepared the wait time is sometimes very long - 3 hours for a 3 course dinner is too long.

This resort labels itself as all inclusive, which it partly is. They serve guests food and drinks, to include room service, from 7am - 10pm. Before 7am, it’s difficult to find coffee and after 10pm no drinks are served. Also, after breakfast, there was really no where to get snacks until lunch began being served around 12:15. Outside of service being subpar, the grounds are gorgeous. The entire hotel has green luscious plants, vines and beautiful flowers. The town is close enough to walk and the excursions they offer were simply amazing.

First and foremost, the staff were absolutely fantastic!!! They were ALL so friendly, funny and accommodating. They made the stay so enjoyable. The resort boasts 5 restaurants but based on hotel occupancy they are not all open each night. It does make business sense and I get it. I was just surprised by this when we got there. You need to make reservations each day for where you want to dine that night (based on what restaurants are open). You need to do this first thing in the morning or you may not get into your preferred restaurant for that night. For the most part, the food was very good to excellent. Our favorites were the Asian and Italian restaurants. They seemed to be most guests favorites. Laundry seemed to be an issue every day. We were never given a full compliment of towels each day and often had to go to the front desk to ask for hand towels and wash clothes. The beach was really nice but it's not a "sugar sand" beach. When the tide is out you have around 150 (or more) yards of hard-pack sand that is great for beach walking or running. It's a nice walk into Samara on the beach - about 1.5 miles and takes about 25-30 minutes. Some good tourist shopping and beach bars there. There are also several surfing schools there if you want to try that. The waves are great to learn on. We could not believe how warm the water was in the ocean (March). I've never felt the ocean that warm before. We were very happy there!
