Element by Marriott Dallas Downtown East

A well kept and efficient hotel with easy access to Baylor Scott and White Hospital. Parking is an open parking lot that is unrated and therefore exposed to anyone who wants to enter.

The parking was so close! The staff was very professional. We enjoyed the complimentary beer, wine and cheese reception and the woman working that was super friendly. Will definitely choose this hotel again.

Our stay was great. Friendly staff, clean rooms with a beautiful view of the sky lines. Stayed here to attend a Mavericks basketball game. Would consider staying here again. There is only one thing we were not satisfied with. We were looking forward to the indoor pool. My husband and daughter went in and quickly got out. Water was freezing. We figured the pool was heated or at least warm. A hot tub or heated pool would have made the stay a 10.

The property was well kept. Staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived late on the first night and were given the wrong room which was not in the best condition but the following day that issue was resolved and the new correct room was in good condition and clean. Gym facility was well kept and had all the necessary equipment. Pool area was clean and well kept. 2nd floor patio was decently kept and a nice spot to relax outdoors. Breakfast was ok.

Did not enjoy my stay. The website states heated indoor pool and it wasn’t heated and it was too cold to get into too, also the showers have a metal tray over drain so the dripping sound was annoying. Do not recommend staying!

Breakfast was good with lots of options. Security of the parking lot was great and the security was consistently patrolling. Everyone was friendly. The elevator maybe requires a key to go up and after 11 you need a key card to enter. These are seemingly obvious things but would have been nice if it was mentioned at check in. Some of the pillows are also a bit flat. Overall we had a great stay.

Breakfast had a great variety but was not good. Food was cold. Pancake cook was busier looking at her phone than waiting on customers. Although the breakfast was free it should still decent. Pool was advertised as heated but was cold. Front desk just nodded when told and did nothing. Room was great.

Check-in person listless, didn't disclose several factors to us. Shower very attractive, but it took more than one minute to adjust water temperature; not at all good. Room temperature difficult to control. Hotel now charges $15 per day for parking. We like location, proximity to downtown, but in future we'll likely stay away.

I like the fact that one has to use a room key in order to use the elevator. I always feel safe at the hotel.

Very clean and comfortable

The hotel was very clean, the rooms were very quiet, nice hot water in the shower, the lobby and room always smelled good. Requested a late check out, and it wasn’t a problem. Safety was great!! You needed a room key to enter the hotel and use the elevator.

Step above a motel 6! If you think this place is gping to be like any other Marriott property you have a surprise coming ! Dont let the pics of the lobby fool you! Plumping problems, no maintenance staff, loud noises coming from inside the walls, dirty carpet, stains on fabric furnishings , scratched up furniture, peeling paint on walls. The rooms look cheaply renovated with trash furniture. Shoddy workmanship.. literally gave me anxiety sleeping here because of the darkened rooms which are filthy and uncleaned. The carpet looks like it could use a good steam cleaning or replacement. I was itching after leaving this place... no sure what they wash the sheets with or if it has bed bugs

Overpriced. Stated had breakfast, but did not. Not even coffee or tea. Room smelled like cigarette smoke. Charged for parking even when booking site said was included for $5. So they double charged me. Shower dripped all night on metal accent piece in shower floor. But on bright side, It was close to Baylor and gym was decent.

I’ve never felt more uneasy about a hotel stay. On arrival. Guests are given a note and verbal instructions about removing all valuables from your vehicle. Got to my room and the deadbolt lock was broken. After some reluctance on the part of management, I was moved to another room. The room was sparsely furnished and decorated. Felt like a dorm room with dorm furniture. Platform bed (on which mattresses sit) was dirty with dust, crumbs, and hair. Eww. The shower was dirty. There was hair on the shower floor as well as a dirty footprint of a shoe. Can not recommend this hotel based on safety issues and lack of cleanliness. Would not stay here again.

Worst shower I've ever had; couldn't adjust water temp, was pulsing hot to cold. Breakfast very good. Maids helpful; front desk staff mixed; got locked out of room at departure time due to dead batteries controlling door lock--strange.

The ac unit very noisy even after it was turned off...wouldn't stay here again.

My wife and I like to stay at this location for its proximity to Dos Equis Pavilion. We can travel to and from the venue easily. The hotel has a secure elevator which requires a room key for access. The rooms are updated and spacious, and the front desk staff is friendly and helpful.

Normally I love staying at Element. Anytime there's a location where I'm going, I jump at the chance to stay. Unfortunately, this stay wasn't what I was expecting. The first issue was that I was put in an Accessible room. Nothing wrong with the room per se, just not what I booked. The shower is tiny. Tiny tiny! In addition, the vent in the bathroom was a direct sound portal to someone else's room. I could hear a man's phone conversation as if he was in my room. There is a door between this room and the next that I could hear a woman's phone call, on speaker, where I could hear the entire conversation from my bed. My main room door was thin enough that I could hear housekeepings conversations on walky talky. And, if that wasn't enough, apparently housekeeping was outside my door talking to someone in the room with the bathroom sound portal. So, this was seven layers of sound hell. I understand that not every hotel has soundproof rooms. But this was on another level.

Our first stay at Element and it was the perfect choice. Facility was clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful and very friendly. Finishes were modern and asthetically very pleasing.

this is a good hotel if you are needing something next to Baylor Med hospital. It is a little expensive and they charge for parking in a normal parking lot next to the hotel. The free breakfast was excellent however. When I checked in there was no remote for the tv. The next day I asked again and they stated they would bring one while I was at the hospital. They never did. Not a huge issue but they need to pay attention to small things like that.

We came in, D was awesome and made us feel so welcome. He explained all of the amenities and gave us a paper that went over what he explained. We asked about the area and had all of our questioned answered. He told us if we had any questions to just let him know. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

They didn't have our rooms ready. They said they had a big event the night before and couldn't get ready for the next day

We arrived at 4 pm this past Friday and the internet was down for almost 1 hour, which stranded my wife and I, as well as a line of registrants at the front desk. I was not able to register using my Expedia reservation, though the registration was in the system. We were let in our room by key and later that evening I was given two keys for our room. Fast forward to Saturday evening at 11:30 pm in which the room was given to another lodger who entered our room, to our amazement, twice. The front desk called us and insisted that we need to vacate the room and could not find our reservation nor records that we have paid for the room. I insisted that we tackle this problem in the morning. At ca. 8 am I discussed with the front desk person about the late night invasion and strange phone called to vacate our room. My wife and I left our room for breakfast but could not re-enter our room. The desk person found or reservation but was unwilling to recharge me for the room. He accompanied up to our room to open the door with a master key. As we were readying ourselves for the day and packing to leave this contested room we were contacted twice by phone and thrice by person that we needed to vacate our room ASAP. To close this odd story, we ventured to the desk and paid our bill with a credit card used in the initial reservations, with no problems. I was told by the desk clerk that management would be contacting me on Monday, to offer restitution for these unusual hotel events.

Great location to Baylor Scott White medical center!

Staff was horrible and lacked knowledge. The area is full of homeless wandering around and there is not adequate security to insure guest's safety.

Excellent stay...clean, friendly. Not best part of town, but close to the Baylor nursing school and fun parts of Dallas.

Was close to Deep Ellum area as. Free breakfast was also a plus.

The hotel is excellent. The breakfast is above par, but the area is a little shady. Other than that this is the place to be.

Loved how easy it was to check in even with the virtual Kiosk. My daughter and I had an unexpected trip and it was nice the staff provided toothbrush/paste for us. Only thing I didn’t like is that I was told about the $50 hold fee on my card but they charged my card $175. I didn’t like the lack of transparency with that fee. The breakfast was amazing!! Loved the portions and the little omelets, the fresh fruit and the display was great and the breakfast area was clean as well.

I particularly appreciated the breakfasts. Instead of cold cereal and soggy pastries, which has been pretty much the norm in recent decades, y'all provided fresh scrambled eggs, good sausages, and decent coffee. Thanks.
