Beautiful motel with all the modern amenities. Staff was very friendly and helpful and eager to make sure we were well taken care of. Continental breakfast was good and dining area on rooftop was very nice with outside and inside seating. Elevators were very small but efficient.

Flott hotell med sentral beliggenhet. Meget hyggelige og service innstilt betjening. Rommet var rent og pent, samt ett flott bad. Frokostbuffén var rikholdig og velsmakende. Fra restauranten og baren på toppen har man utsikt til blant annet Akropolis.

O hotel claramente deixa a desejar para um 5 estrelas. Está mais para 4 estrelas fraco. Não tem piscina. Também não é tão perto dos pontos turísticos.

The propert was pricey and did not have a pool. The room was small and the it did not have a iron in it. I would not chose this hotel and location again if I return to Athens. The night clerk was somewhat rude.

I chose the hotel for the proximity to my clients office but upon arrival I learnt that I was moved to the sister hotel nearby. Frankly speaking the sister hotel was bigger and better. Athens Key is quite a small hotel , and not really suitable as a business hotel , since my colleagues stayed there I had the chance to experience. The business center of the hotel is like a joke. Otherwise it’s a good hotel.
I chose the hotel for the proximity to my clients office but upon arrival I learnt that I was moved to the sister hotel nearby. Frankly speaking the sister hotel was bigger and better. Athens Key is quite a small hotel , and not really suitable as a business hotel , since my colleagues stayed there I had the chance to experience. The business center of the hotel is like a joke. The staff were all friendly and the rooms were clean. The elevator can be slow during high traffic times because there are only two for less than 5 people each. The breakfast was included and was good - you eat on the rooftop which was a nice way to get morning sun. The air conditioning in the rooms are not cold by American standards. We were very hot each night and the AC was locked at 18 C or 64 F, but felt like 22 C or 72 F in reality. The hotel is on the edge of a rough neighborhood, but so long as you walk towards the Acropolis and stick to the main, lighted routes, we found it safe.

Lovely staff- Crisa, Maria, and the afternoon gentleman whose name escapes my memory. Rooftop garden for breakfast with ample selection, lower floor small but adequare gym with treadmill, weights, and cycle Rooms are furnished with coffee/expresso maker, refrigerator, and a kettle. Comfy beds , either 2 twins or 1 double Free bottled water Although, the location is about 25 mins walking distance to the center- it is doable.

The location was good. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The maids rocked. The room was tiny. No place to put your clothes but a closet. One tiny garbage can services the bath, sink and room etc. Just a sheet on the mattress cover and a hot blanket. Sweated a lot and ended up on the mattress pad every morning. This may be customary and we may be spoiled, but we feel the room was priced to have these benefits… linens and convenient novelties on vacation.

Sentralt hotell midt i Athen. Kort vei til det meste. Noe møkkete gulv på hotellrommet. Fikk et handicaprom som gjorde at hele badegulvet ble oversvømmet av vann når man dusjet. Mye støy fra gaten utenfor og lytt gjennom døren. Men ellers en fin opplevelse.

Hotel room was very dusty. The shower had a musty smell. If you are staying for work, the walls are very thin and you will hear EVERYTHING. I stayed for 5 nights, the room next to me had incredibly loud guests all nights. I had early mornings each day, and when i called down to the front desk they told me they couldn't do anything until after 11:30PM. The last two nights there was a literal bus loads of children staying in the hotel and it was so loud until late, and loud starting very early in the morning. The hotel staff was nice. But it wasn't a restful stay.

They upgraded me to a room with a balcony. The rooms were clean and updated. The bathroom was also nice. The amenities provided in the bathroom were great as well. I took a scooter to places around the hotel. Plenty of transportation options available as well as restaurants. Can't go wrong at all.

Staff was on the rough side and not very welcoming. The area: there are much better areas in Athens. The room is good and modern but the sheets were not clean and I woke up bitten by bugs or some insects which affected my three day stay. Not recommended.

The hotel was nice, we were in rooms near the street so it was a bit noisy. The staff was impressive and very helpful, the walk was a bit longer than I expected (to the acropolis).

Solid 3 star hotel! This is NOT a five star and if you manage your expectations you’ll be fine here. The service is super family friendly (feels like a family run hotel) the physical hotel is looking very run-down and needs a complete paint and repair. Many areas are left needing love. There’s only one bellman and often unavailable, no turn down (it’s on demand they say) and the room has aged and sagging. Windows and walls are surprisingly thin. This is a conflicting review as I like the people here, but someone needs to be honest about the facilities.

The staff were wonderful. Our room had been recently renovated snd the bed was very comfortable . The hotel is in walking dto many restaurants and sights but it is on a busy street and the noise of the traffic disturbed our sleep

The room was lovely and very comfortable. We enjoyed the extra touches such as the complimentary bottle of wine and the delicious breakfast buffet. I especially enjoyed the beautiful view from the rooftop terrace and the Greek yogurt with honey. I would not recommend staying on the first floor which is open to the lobby and bar below. We had a very loud tour group meeting at 5:00 AM, making it difficult to sleep.

The staff were absolutely lovely. However, the actual hotel itself needs serious renovations. The lift is confusing and small. You need to pull the lift door open (which wasn't very obvious) and you could only fit 4 people in at a time. If you're carrying baggage, the door system can be quite difficult to manage. In terms of my room, I was told that I was given a free upgrade - lovely. However, there was nothing special about the room I'd been upgraded to, which leaves me wondering what I would have received originally. The bathroom was small and narrow. There was only a shower, not a bath. The rainfall shower head leaked for quite a while after use. The room itself was 'pleasant', aside from the fact that it faced onto the main road, which was busy at all hours. Even at 4am. Car alarms, police sirens, screeching tires. The guest next door was playing music and listening to TV at 3/4/5am and I could hear pretty much every word. Someone in the corridor kept shouting as well. The room itself needs redecorating and refurbishing (the same could be said for the whole hotel to be honest). There were cracks in the bathroom ceiling, the USB c charger ports didn't work and there were brown stains on the bathroom ceiling. The double bed was in fact two single beds put together. In terms of breakfast, the actual room was quite nice but the buffet was very limited. The surrounding area isn't the best but it's quite conveniently placed and a good/easy point for Uber drivers to stop at.

Front desk very friendly and kind, easy check-in procedure. Spacious room provided, clean and comfortable, with all the amenities (coffee machine, big TV). Offered an upgrade as well as extra water, a Greek bottle of wine and plate with fresh fruits!. Breakfast was delicious and tasty, with great variety of local products offered.

This is definitely not a 5-star hotel! We arrived at 9 a.m. because our flight was changed, and we were greeted with complete indifference by the receptionist, who was more concerned with saying that he would charge an early check-in fee. He started by saying that the room we had selected was not available, but there was an executive room that was, and that for early check-in, we would have to pay an extra fee of €50, which we did not accept. We left our bags and returned to the hotel at 3 p.m. to check in, and the receptionist told us, "I'll give you a free upgrade to an executive room," which I later found out was exactly the same as the classic one shown in the hotel photos. He also told us we had breakfast on the 10th floor, which the next morning we confirmed was not true. We paid €121 on the platform, but at the hotel, they told us it was €127 (which we paid), even though on the same day, with breakfast and taxes, it was €136... and they still wanted to charge us €32 for breakfast, hilarious. I recommend the Meia next door, which is 4 stars but includes breakfast and a pool for €100. ;)

The hotel is completely disorganized. They called in advance threatening to cancel rooms. They kept changing the amount owed to the hotel. As we were trying to get in a car to catch a flight even to that minute they were adding on charges, literally chasing me to the car after I had checked out and paid. They told some guests breakfast was included, they charged others. Completely frustrating and felt very much like they were just constantly trying to get more money for nothing. Will never stay there again.

The hotel itself is fine—clean and comfortable, with efforts to create a pleasant experience and a good breakfast. However, I had two negative incidents that I believe should be addressed. First, during breakfast, I ordered two espressos. Only afterwards was I informed that these were not included in the breakfast and I was charged €10. I was told that only filter coffee was included. The issue is that no one mentioned this when I ordered, which felt misleading and left a bad impression. Second, at checkout I asked the reception to call me a taxi. The driver, from the company they used, told me after we departed that there called the centre and was informed there there was a minimum charge of €12 because the hotel takes a commission. My ride was very short and been only €4 on the meter. As a local, I know that I could have just hailed a taxi outside for the normal fare. Again, I was not informed of this extra cost in advance, which felt unreasonable. If I had known about these hidden charges, I would not have agreed. Both incidents left me disappointed, as they undermined what could otherwise have been a very good stay.

The hall and the furniture is updated, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with all the amenities that made my stay very confortable. The roof garden is nice and the breakfast is varied and delicious. The only downside is the closeness to a busy road and the related noise can be heard from the 5th floor. So make sure you get a higher floor if possible.

A young lady and two gentleman's at front desk , they helped me with all questions I had about the hotel and around the city. Wonderful breakfast, roof garden restaurant was clean, lovely and cute. I travelling all over the world and this hotel was one of the best.

Overall the hotel was nice, it was on the smaller side. They don't have face towels, which annoyed me, we had to use hand towels to wash our bodies. The area around the hotel is really ran down. Not aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

It was a comfortable stay at Athens Key. Very clean room, comfortable bed and beddings with all the amenities that one need during a short stay. Very friendly and helpful people at the reception. Good location with a range of transportation options at walking distance. Recommended.

This hotel was really nice and super close to sights like the Acropolis and Museums. It is close to many food options, everything you need is in walking distance. The laundry facilities offered at the Hotel are outrageously expensive, but there is a laundry mat down the street. One thing to keep in mind, this hotel is not really in the safest area. Nights are noisy and there is crime. The hotel itself is nice and feels safe, just don't go out at night.

The location was great for walking to all the sites in historic downtown. The room was great and the staff was so nice! They even have a rooftop bar for evening and is where breakfast is served. We will come back to stay here again!

Very modern and clean. Super friendly staff. Nice view and atmosphere on the top floor with a good bar. Also great breakfast place in the morning. A little bit of a distance to the Acropolis, but we walked back easily with a few stops on the way.

The hotel itself is a great place. Once you leave the hotel and walk in the wrong direction you must be aware of everything around you. There are some shady characters hanging out watching especially at night. If you stay on the main streets you will be ok. Once off the beatin path you’re taking a chance.

Everything inside the hotel was excellent - clean comfortable room, good breakfast and facilities. Sadly what you don’t realise when booking is that the area around the hotel is very dodgy with plenty of suspicious characters. The local tube staff said this area the hotels are cheaper as no one wants to stay in this part of Athens. Take a taxi to the door and do not walk out at night

The Athens Key Hotel is in a great location - about a mile from Syntagma which is where the tourist walking loop starts. It is a relatively smaller hotel - so you don't get the really large tour groups. We requested and got rooms with connecting doors which was perfect for our family. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The Cafe Veneti Bakery is something I would recommend for pastries, coffee and lite bites.

We had a great 4 night stay here at the end of March. The hotel itself was clean, well furnished, and comfortable. The room was well appointed and had just enough space and storage for the two of us. The shower was superb, especially after a long day sightseeing on foot. The breakfast was good with lots of choice. We also used the restaurant for a couple of evening meals which were delicious with very generous portion sizes. The staff were all very polite, friendly, helpful, and professional. In particular we were extremely well looked after by Sahil in the restaurant. We wanted a city break which would allow us plenty of options. The hotel's location meant that we had lots of sites of interest in reach. It is very close to Omonia Square and metro which gave us quick and ready access to the whole of Athens. As a bonus the rooftop bar has views of the Acropolis.

The breakfast was included and was good - you eat on the rooftop which was a nice way to get morning sun. The air conditioning in the rooms are not cold by American standards. We were very hot each night and the AC was locked at 18 C or 64 F, but felt like 22 C or 72 F in reality. The hotel is on the edge of a rough neighborhood, but so long as you walk towards the Acropolis and stick to the main, lighted routes, we found it safe.

A nice hotel that need new towels. The location used to be great. Now is fitlty, graffiti ridden and not safe at night. Lots of junkies and shady people. Service at the bar is the worst.

Room could have been cleaned better, I scrubber the bathroom counter and the tissue turned brown. Breakfast was very good, had a variety of items to choose from along with cold cereals. Some shops and restaurants walking distance.

NEGATIVE 1- I booked a Deluxe room. during check in the reception said I got an upgrade, but actually they downgraded me into a superior room, which is slightly cheaper. 2- There was a gratuity bottle of water in the room on first day, but was not renewed. I called reception, they said they will send it but never send. Also the instant coffee was not renewed in second day. 3- There was no hand wash liquid in the room, I called reception, they sent a new bottle 4- Later I realized there is no shampoo in the shower, I called the reception and they sent a new bottle. 5- There was no slippers in the room. I called reception and they sent slippers. 6- The room was not cleaned although housekeeping came and sorted the bed. But the used towels were left on the ground. 7- The staff at the rooftop garden was very moody. Didnt want to answer questions, she was distributing cutlery on the tables, but holding them from the tip, not the handle. She didnt wear gloves. 8- Coffee machine at breakfast did not work on first morning. No butter served. POSITIVE 1- Location was good. Nice neighborhood and close to attractions. 2- We only booked bed, didnt pay for breakfast in the reservation, but they gave us free breakfast.
