Moxy Edinburgh Airport

There was scaffolding all round the building which rattled all night and meant we hardly slept. If we had known, we would have booked elsewhere. There were not enough staff at the check in leading to long queues.

I was only there about 12 hours before catching a transatlantic flight. So much scaffolding on the outside of the building I had difficulty identifying it as the hotel. Inside was just fine, clean and modern. Grabbed some snacks from the bar instead of getting a meal. Tiny bit overpriced for my taste but that may be due to the airport location, and it was nice being within sight of the terminal and the rental car return.

Nice and warm wellcome at the reception. Very comfortable room and specially the bed. Nice towel and showers. GYM could be a bit more prepared. Of course very well connected to the airport and very convinient for a night stay for early flight fyy.

Not sure what's we had to pay to park in the hotels car park. £10 per night.

Property under going renovation. Shower did not drain. Had to stop to keep water coming into bathroom. No water in lobby.

What you want from an airport hotel but I don’t like having to pay for the parking

Nice place, the food is horrible expect for the pizza. When we arrived, we could not park close due to a construction Crain. It made it difficult for my disabled wife. We should have received an update about the property status. The staff however were most helpful with our luggage

Nice and clean ,quick response from staff to check us in. Got to use the gym which was ok ,few machines broken.food wasn't the best for the price .felt like it was over priced microwave meal

When we arrived we had 3 unsuccessful attempts at getting in to our room. Eventually had to move up to level 4 which was actually part of a construction site. All this was at 3.30am only to be awakened by workmen walking on the roof above our room at 8am.

There lots of bedbugs in our room. We couldn’t sleep because we have lots of bites and very itchy. I wont recommend this hotel to my family and friends and will never come back to this hotel

Great hotel on airport site. Views from my room if planes was a bonus. Very comfortable bed but the room could of been cleaner. Bedside table has someone's hair on it, coffee cup not clean and shower very slow to drain. Despite these issues,an excellent stay but would be nice if these were addressed for the next guest staying in this room.

Room was spotless, the staff supper friendly

We have stayed at other Moxy hotels without a problem but we experienced multiple issues at Moxy Edinburgh Airport. The toilet in our room barely flushed, the soap dispenser in the shower was empty and the pump on the hand soap at the sink was broken. Our dinner in the hotel restaurant was disappointing and it took an hour for us to receive our food. The staff did not care, and it showed.

Check in was not good , manager wasn’t helpful said he couldn’t find my booking then another member of staff looked on computer & verified my husbands first name & found my booking , gentleman seemed disinterested in helping , after a long flight & arriving in my room , sink in bathroom was filthy not sure what it was but was too tired so just retired to bed , very noisy rooms can hear cars all night needs better soundproofing in my opinion

Great stay in immaculate room.

Checked in through the night. Woke up to find room roasting, couldn’t lower the temp, hair in shower and in shower screen, dirty marks down shower screen with grime in shower tray. Sink was very dirty with what looked like a cigarette burn. Only hand towels provided which were thin and frayed, bins not emptied and toothpaste? On door handle! Complained to manager who offered no apologies until prompted and now locked in a battle with hotels. Com to get refund as the claim they are unable to make contact with the duty manager!

Some scratches on glass tables and shower mold but room very nice otherwise. Staff so helpful, downstairs temp cool , a little uncomfortable after an hour. Bed comfortable ,pillows high and hard. Have stayed previously would again . Very convenient for airport.

Lovely clean hotel, room soundproofing very good for aircraft noise, blackout curtains excellent.

Good hotel but the rooms whilst quite nice were a little on the small side and there was on dressing table and only one chair. Overall pleased with our stay and would consider again

Good overall. The HVAC system/protocol was terrible. The room was too hot and there was no option to cool below a set temp. Bedding material was also extremely corse.

Location is walking distance to airport. Hotel is just like the pictures. Very comfortable beds and pillows.

The bartender gentleman was very nice. Everything else was just okay. Small room, very small bathroom, mattress was old and soft. It’s good for a one night stay only.

Convenient to the airport, not great food options in the evening, breakfast was a bit on the expensive side for what it was.

Checkin was very quick with gelpful knowledgable staff. The room was a decent size, very comfortable and clean big bathroom spotless. Bedcvery comfy. Bus stop right outside. 8 minute walk with my suitcase to the airport. A bit of noise from traffic and aeroplanes.

Room very small. En-suite so small had to open bathroom door to dry off after shower. Central heating system would not adjust and sat at 28 degrees all night, despite our best efforts..Fan very noisy overnight

Stayed in a family room which was much more spacious than expected. Bit disappointed to be charged to park overnight, that should be included in the room cost. Also very annoying light on a motion sensor which kept coming on when settling the baby

No temp control in the rooms, and staff don’t care

I wasn’t expecting it but on arrival there was a personal message on the mirror in the room and a card wishing us a nice stay. It was really nice of the Moxy team to do that, as usual the staff could not have been more helpful. Room had everything needed for a short stay and an early flight

When I walked up to the check in desk I was not acknowledged. The man behind the bar was making coffees, but I couldn’t tell if he was the concierge. All he had to say was “I’ll be right with you.” Then our room wasn’t ready for an hour after check in time.

Very slow check in even though no one else there !?

Staff are always welcoming and helpful. The common areas and rooms are clean, well appointed and comfortable.

It was chaos! Checking in:out took forever and even though the personnel was friendly you left with a feeling that it was a hotel managed by kids. Trying to get food in the evening took 1.2 hours and after reminding it was clear they had forgotten our order. The only really good thing was the attitude of the people working there!

The staff were tremendously helpful. As a Marriott gold member, I was able to access early check-in. I was also able to leave my luggage at the hotel for my return trip on Monday. I felt very welcomed, staff offered a cocktail on arrival. The room was perfect for a lay over - had everything we needed. We stay at this hotel quite often and lots of Moxys in general because the staff are so nice. It is what sets them apart when booking a hotel at EDI airport.

Well located hotel next to Edinburgh airport. The rooms were fine for a one night stay before an early flight and we found it peaceful to sleep. I can’t help but comment on the bar service. The lady who served us without managing to utter a word, probably because she didn’t want to drop her gum that she was loudly chewing into my pint. The card machine was thrust at me without telling me the price or even showing me the price on the machine and i kid you not she grunted when I asked the price. We braved a second round and didn’t fare much better with another member of staff. I felt we were disturbing them. It was almost a comedy. Staff need training.

Arrived at 1am and 2 members of staff at desk took about 10 mins to sort a room. Got to the room and there were balloons and a champagne bucket . Went back to reception as didn’t want to take the room if it was meant for someone else. They took 15 mins to sort out another room at the other end of the hotel! Very poor customer care

Overall, the stay was okay and the location was really convenient, especially being close to the airport. However, the experience itself wasn’t great. When I came back in the evening to check in, the staff at the bar/reception didn’t seem very welcoming — not exactly rude, but almost annoyed that we were there. It was quite a contrast from earlier in the day, when I dropped off my luggage before check-in and was helped by a really friendly and helpful team. The room also wasn’t what I had booked — we got an accessible room with a double bed instead of two single beds. Not terrible, but a bit inconvenient with a really tall husband. The shower curtain was slightly discolored at the bottom, which made it look dirty, and the soap provided in the shower caused a rash on my skin (which almost never happens). It wasn’t a terrible stay, but definitely below what I’d expect from a Marriott Bonvoy hotel.

It’s a walking distance from the airport (less then 10 minutes walk), the room was comfortable, the lobby had a good ambiance and the personnel was courteous.

This hotel was overpriced and although it is an airport hotel it has no shuttle to the airport. The walk with your luggage is over very poor sidewalks that are in terrible shape and there are no crosswalks to get to the airport.

A really good option to stay at the airport - easy to park, good rooms and an 8 minute walk to the terminal!

A great option for staying close to Edinburgh Airport! I always stay here when I fly in the morning. However, the pathway to the airport itself could be in better condition and better signposted - there are no clearly indicated pedestrian crossings so one has to drag the bags through rough pavements and jump in before cars to cross.

Close to airport. Big plus.

We checked in late for an early morning flight the following day. Perfect location in walking distance to the airport. Easy and convenient.

Late arrival check in, pleasant concierge, room more than adequate for an overnight airport stay. 5 min walk from terminal. On site parking. Good , comfortable public areas

The good: funky design, friendly and attentive staff and great location close to airport. The bad: horribly uncomfortable bed and dinner - overpriced, cold buns on burgers, French fries still partly raw.

The food available for lunch or dinner is a bit limited. The breakfast selection was very good. The bed itself was adequate and the pillows were not.

An over priced travel lodge type hotel. Only food available was in a lobby bar with no room service available. The bar/canteen area was full of flies.

Room was clean and comfortable. Check in was swift and staff friendly. Only let down really was the quality of the food available for dinner. Wasn't bad but could have been better.

Room was perfect for a quick stay, comfy bed, great TV options, staff were nice, food and drinks were great too.

Like most people staying at this hotel, we were there for one night with a flight the following day. The three items we had at the restaurant were terrible as was the wait. You pony up to the bar to order and receive a little buzzing device to alert you when your meal is ready. We ordered a pepperoni and jalapeño pizza, a burger, with a side of onion rings. After waiting half an hour, I went to the bar to learn the chef wasn't there that day and the manager had taken over. The employee said it wasn't a problem as things only had to be heated up. Uh oh. She added that our order hadn't started yet, with four to go in front of us. She said the orders were done one by one and the manager was in the kitchen alone. The pizza was doughy and had few pepperoni. The burger was incinerated to well beyond well done. The onion rings were limp. We tried to use the television, but the only instructions were on the screen. That didn't work. I tried to call but no one answered. I went downstairs and asked for help and received none, with the only advice being to try again. That didn't work. More phone calls weren't answered. Another trip downstairs. I requested someone come to the room to debug the TV. No one ever came. The reception had only one worker with a long line. Not good. The room was small, but the bed was good. The bathroom was tiny, with only enough room for one person and barely enough room to rotate. The shower was good. No closets or drawers. Not for me.
