The Anthony

Wij hadden de presidentiële suite. Deze is echt prachtig. Echt n aanrader. De kerk in de buurt is wat minder prettig. Parkeren moet echt gereserveerd worden. Dit staat niet duidelijk genoeg vermeld. Verder was er geen hulp van het personeel om dit probleem op te lossen. We zijn zeker 1,5 bezig geweest met het parkeren van de auto. Uiteindelijk toch voor €40 euro in de straat geparkeerd en de volgende dag al om 9 uur uit moeten checken in plaats van 11 uur vanwege de parkeerkosten. Echt heel jammer.

Beautifully restored and renovated monastery located about 15 min walk from train station. Welcome drink vouchers to enjoy in the fantastic courtyard. Quiet for sleeping. We had a flight of steep narrow stairs into executive suite. A challenge for large suitcases.The room had some dust on surfaces. Bed was comfortable and tub was perfect. Mini fridge and coffee maker in room. Would return.

Great location just outside of the old central city. Staff was very helpful. On site bicycle rentals were cheaper than the local shops and we did not need a car. One staffer, Nicholas, even put together a list of resources for learning Dutch.

Nice stay, had a room in the basement so the ground floor windows was a little odd, but all the same, the solo rooms are bigger than they look on the photos and the courtyard is a really nice place to hang out and have a drink. Comfy bed, shower, and I got a drink coupon for my birthday which was nice :)

The staff was very friendly, helpful and considerate. It was an easy check in/ out process, the room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Really enjoyed the hotels' architecture and layout. Was nice to hang out at the bar at the end of the day with a drink, fireplace and games.

fantastic staff. lovely outdoor seating facilities. very good breakfast. 12 minute walk from central train station on opposite side to town centre. bikes for hire. rooms a bit tired looking and needing some maintenance - door handle needed fixing when we arrived, TV not working in one room and fridge not in the other. loved sitting outside in the sun, and staff very accommodating and happy to store our luggage so we could enjoy all of our time at Utrecht.

The neighborhood is quiet and safe and very walkable. The hotel food and drink options are incredible (the best burger I’ve had in my life) and the front desk staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We ended up extending our stay three times because we loved the city and our accommodations so much.

Prachtig hotel in een voormalig klooster. Erg mooi gerenoveerd. mooie kamers, hippe lounge bar en leuke binnenplaats. Restaurant menu ziet er ook goed uit (wij hebben alleen ontbeten). Kamers zitten rond de binnenplaats. Uitzicht op de parking is wat minder. Zeker een aanrader net buiten hartje centrum dus makkelijk bereikbaar met de auto.

The hotel was nice and generally as described/expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, we arrived to learn that the parking needed to be reserved in advance so we ended up having to park in a remote location. We had selected this hotel because the hotels.com page listed self-parking onsite, without indicating that a reservation was required. The property description needs to be corrected.

Spacious room, perfect cleaning service, variety of food for breakfast, and friendly service. I recommend !

The pictures on the internet made it look a lot nicer than it actually was. It was not up to my cleanliness standards.

Prachtig hotel! Heerlijk ontbijt, mooie kamers. Alleen hing er een vieze geur in onze wc/badkamer.

Het gebouw is erg mooi en verzorgd. Het bevat hele mooie details. De service van het hotel is erg goed. Heel vriendelijk personeel bij de receptie en ook online. De kamers zijn grotendeels goed schoon. Het bed, de douche, de wc en de vloer zijn heel netjes. Hier en daar wordt door de schoonmaakservice wel wat vergeten (vieze vingerafdrukken op kastjes, behoorlijke spetters van iets op de stoel en schimmel om de aircobak. Het restaurant was in de avond voortreffelijk. De kwaliteit van het eten en de bediening was hoogstaand. Zeker een aanrader. Wel viel het me op dat ik de vorige keer een gratis amuse kreeg en dit maar niet. Dat vond ik jammer, maar niet erg. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is goed. Het ontbijt was prima (voldoende keuze voor de prijs). De ontbijtruimte was mooi verzorgd en schoon. Aardig personeel ook op een Spaanse mevrouw na. Ze begon behoorlijk te zuchten toen ik om 7:05 bij het buffet stond. Ze was nog van alles aan het neerzetten en daar bleef ik al bewust van weg. Dat zuchten deed ze desondanks meermaals en ik durfde daardoor bijna niet iets te pakken van wat er wel stond. Ik probeerde nog iets vriendelijks te zeggen in het Engels maar daar werd ook niet echt op gereageerd. Dat vond ik jammer en ook wel onprettig. Het voelde niet welkom daardoor. De rest van de medewerkers waren wel heel vriendelijk.

Die Fotos täuschen! Wir haben ein Doppelzimmer gebucht und es war nicht so wie angepriesen: Toilette und Dusche in einer Kammer, beim Duschen wurde alles nass, vom Schlafraum nur mit einer Duschtür getrennt. Kein eigenes Bad, Waschbecken mit flackerndem Licht direkt neben dem Bett. Rosa Schimmel-Fugen. Überall staubig und dürftig gereinigt, Fleck auf dem Kissenbezug. Zimmer lag direkt am Parkplatz, die Fensterscheiben isolierten nicht, man hörte jede Krähe im Hof. Immer, wenn nebenan einer das Haus verließ, schepperte die ganze Wand. Frühstück dürftig: Keine Haferflocken, keine Müslibar. Eine Sorte Brötchen. Ich bat beim Check In um vegane Frühstücksoptionen: es gab veganen Käse, Brot, Margarine. Kein Sojajoghurt, kein Wurstersatz... man zeigte mir Obst und Gemüse..wow! Mega schlechtes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Where to start! It's potentially a nice hotel. I booked the Presidential Suite, sounds fancy! I got a bottle of prosecco when I walked in, but than: The room smells REALLY bad to sewer smell. I stayed 3 nights. The last night I just booked for 200 euro a extra room to sleep. I told them twice, but besides some air freshener they didn't do anything. Next to that: Bed was only made, no clean sheet for 3 night. The bottle of wine from the first night (empty) they never cleaned up. Looked like they walked in, gave some clean towels, made the bed en left. It's a Presidential Suite! Just a waste of money

Mooi, modern hotel. Erg leuke sfeer. Minpunt: er zaten haren in onze douche van de vorige gasten.

We were allocated the wrong room and told the pictures are only a guide. The triple loft room we had booked is not in the hotel but a building next door. We eventually were given this room. Disappointed with the location and it did not appear as in the photos. Stains on rugs, no cushions, horrible smell of urine in bathroom. Had to keep the curtains closed due to the view of the neighbouring buildings- not a nice area to stay in. Very expensive for this level of accommodation

Well designed interiors, clean room, comfy bed, fast WiFi, and friendly staff. Convenient location only a short walk from Utrecht station. We really liked the option to hire bikes directly from the hotel. Small negatives were the loud noises from motorbikes outside the hotel and poor drainage leading to unpleasant smells inside the bathroom during the evening. Overall would recommend to friends or family.

Nice staff and property. However cleaning might improve a bit.

Very spacious room, confortable bed and pillows, huge shower, everything was fine.

Super staff, quick and easy check in/out, no fuss to anything. I chose a single room..a bit tight with shower and toilet in same 1.5 by 1 meter space but all the rest…does what it says on the can.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön, das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit, das frühstück sehr gut. Unser Zimmer lag zur Straße hin und es war bis in die Nacht sehr laut, egal ob die Fenster geöffnet oder geschlossen waren. Hier wären Fenster mit besserem Schallschutz dringend nötig.

Lovely property, the room was drafty and the hesting difficult to manage (no instructions). Don't expect beams and character in room - ours a junior suite at the front of the hotel - was modern and functional. It was a good size. We stayed 3 nights and had to request room service to change used tea/coffee mugs, refresh tea and coffee, clean bathroom - wasnt expecting linen or towel change but would expect these other services.

The staff were fantastic. The room (in the additional building next door) was tired and forgotten about. Terrible air circulation, awful mattress, poor bedding, not great light control from the main road. The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever seen.

Room was not practical. unsafe stairs to go to the bed, while the toilet was downstairs. 2 hangers only and pillows to large. We have been in this hotel before but in a better room. This was a suit.

L’hôtel est très bien situé et agréable. Les chambres sont propres, belles et confortables. Le seul problème c’est que nous étions en chambre 102, juste en-dessous des ventilateurs de l’hôtel…impossible de dormir car c’est mal isolé. Dommage parce que sans ce problème c’était parfait.

Hotellet ligger inom gång avstånd till centrala Utrecht Det rummet vi fick var väldigt litet och kanske hade fungerat för en person men för två blev det för trångt. Det fanns en stor säng men bara ett täcke att dela på. Det gick inte att gå runt sängen utan den som sov längst in till fönstret fick krypa över sängen dit. Badrummet hade dusch och toalett men handfatet fanns i rummet. Vi åt inte frukost där men vi tog en öl i baren och det var nästan ett måste att tillbringa tid utanför rummet för det var som sagt oerhört litet. Det finns parkering. Kan inte riktigt rekommendera speciellt inte den billigaste rummen 1200 kr.

We stayed in the apartments. The stairs are very steep and there is a gap at the top of the stairs, where a small child could fit through and fall (there is also no child safety barrier at the bottom of the stairs to prevent small children from climbing up). I would not recommend anyone for children below 3 years old to stay in the apartment for this reason. There is also no air-conditioning on the upper floor where the main bedroom is located. It is probably OK for the cooler months, but we stayed there in August and the room was very hot and not very pleasant to sleep in. We stayed for 6 nights and were told that changing of bed sheets / cleaning would occur every 5 days, but we did not see anyone. Other than that, the location was good, the apartment was well-equipped with cutlery, coffee machine etc and the wifi worked well.

The Hotel is nice. The Staff was exceptional. The young women who helped with check-in was extremely helpful. She gave us directions to the train station. The Staff sets this hotel apart

Et rigtigt fint ophold, med fin service og fine værelser. Vi overnattede kun to nætter men det var super fint og der var nem check ind selvom vi kom sent på aftenen. Vi kom i bil og havde bestilt parkering i forvejen og det foregik ganske nemt med nummerpladescanning.

Had a terrible experience in the bar watching staff serve all the men around us, who arrived after we did, while ignoring us. I've never been so mad about treatment I received at a restaurant or bar anywhere. All women servers who were only interested in serving men.

また、部屋にsafety boxがないので、受付にありますか？と聞いたところ、受付で預かってくれました。これもチェックアウト時に確認しましたら、何を言ってるのかわからない、と上記受付に言われて、顔面蒼白になりました。上司に電話をしていましたが、その上司もわからないようでした。仕方がないのでフロントに入れてもらい捜索して、自分で何とか見つけることができました。こういう大切なことはきちんと従業員同士で引き継ぐべきだと思います。 また、フロントで傘を借りました。借りた際に、デポジットとして10ユーロが必要だが、傘を返せばその10ユーロは不要です、と説明されました。しかしチェックアウト時の受付が、これはサービスチャージだから払え、デポジットなど意味がわからない、と強硬な態度を示しました。これについては、上司に連絡をすることもありませんでした。飛行機の時間の関係で諦めました。 なお、部屋は物凄く狭かったです。また、冷蔵庫がありませんでした。バスタブもありませんでした。机がなくて仕事ができませんでした。他の方もそうだったようで中庭で仕事をされていましたが、雨がよく降りますので、ちょっと厳しい感じでした。 部屋の掃除は綺麗でした。チップは不要でした。

Great place, staff are amazing

We arrived earlier than expected before check-in time, aiming to leave our luggage and visit Utrecht. The receptionist thought we wanted to enter the room and told us that the room was indeed ready to check-in, but the one we booked - a family room - had an issue. She clarified it had an issue with some light bulbs or an electrical switch not working and that the maintenance person was working on it. We decided to return to the hotel after visiting the city. We arrived at 5pm CET. The other receptionist issued the same problem and proposed to give us another "family" room. I asked about the differences, and she said there was no difference. But the new room was a double room adapted to be a family room. And it was dirty in the surroundings of the windows and over some furniture - very dusty and with an old spider web (I got photos!). No wardrobe to store our belongings during our stay. Super-small bathroom. My son, who suffers from allergy, had asthma due to the dust in the room and we could only manage to sleep by having my wife exchange her bed with him. I travel for business since 1996 and I never felt like I had to leave a review before. I hate their lack of transparency.

Op 15 minuten wandelen van het station, zeer mooie accomodatie, zeer mooie binnenplaats. Door werken in de hoofdstraat iets moeilijker bereikbaar. Kamer was klein maar gezellig en volledig uitgerust.

Property was clean, quiet, well kept. The area wasn’t what we expected. It was a bit of a hike to the centre of town (with kids). The area where the hotel is located is very middle eastern. Don’t want to sound rude but we felt like we were out of place and not in the Netherlands. Wouldn’t recommend solely based on location.

I love the converted church building. The room was clean and spacious. Excellent location in a sweet residential neighborhood.

We are so happy we found Anthony! We enjoyed every moment of our stay. A short walk to the historic area. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing! The whole place is charming. In the evening we enjoyed a beverage in the courtyard. We dined at the Anthony at the bistro Munk; we very much enjoyed the experience. We would recommend without reservations

Wonderful building and a very classy experience. The staff were good. There was open-air lock up for our bikes which isn't ideal but at least they were round the back. Lovely room though no USB outlets. Breakfast was great and we were looking forward to dinner but the quail was undercooked and my dish wasn't hot enough. The waitress was very apologetic and tried to make it up to us. Apparently they were still trying to find a long-term chef. The rest of the meal was good. The hotel isn't absolutely in the center of Utrecht but that wasn't too much of a problem. We were able to walk in even though I have mobility problems. (I had no problems in the hotel itself.)
