The sun-kissed Venice is divided on the Italian mainland and a lagoon. A total of 118 small islands form the Old Town of Venice, which can be discovered by traditional gondola or boat. Each of these islands has its own little traffic and trade center. Besides a lot of them have their individual, specific function, like glass art or lace making. The most famous square in Venice is St Mark’s Square, which is surrounded by the St Mark’s basilica.
