The place is lovely! Very comfortable and right on the edge of downtown so everything is an easy walk away. Easy drive to Hudson River mansions and the Culinary Institute. Great coffee and and a water cooler. Plenty of places to sit both in and out with wonderfull gardens.

Quiet overnight stay in shabby chic house converted to Inn. Comfortable bed & linens. Small TV in corner of room by ceiling. Large tub, but jets did not work. Coffee & fresh croissants for breakfast. Innkeepers kindly stored my bag for the day while I walked around. Thankful & grateful.

Such a cute Inn. Our room was clean and had a separate sitting area. Be forewarned, there is a narrow staircase to the rooms. The location was nice, we walked to restaurants and shops.

Not your typical B&B. Very old house and quite charming but quirky which is ok as we like quirky. The grounds are a small haven for wildlife with plenty of birds and even a resident rabbit! It is a non contact inn so you do not ever meet with the innkeepers; nor is a full breakfast provided other than coffee and croissants. This was fine with us, just a heads up for those wanting a different experience. We would stay there again.

Not your typical B&B. Very old house and quite charming but quirky which is ok as we like quirky. The grounds are a small haven for wildlife with plenty of birds and even a resident rabbit! It is a non contact inn so you do not ever meet with the innkeepers; nor is a full breakfast provided other than coffee and croissants. This was fine with us, just a heads up for those wanting a different experience. We would stay there again.

The location is excellent and the gardens are divine. Our only problem was the winding staircase to our upper floor room. Would not be a problem for younger people but my husband and i are in our 70s! We would stay again if we could be assured of a lower level room.

Three of us (two adults, one teen) stayed for a night here during a pre-Christmas trip to visit family in Red Hook. The Gables is wonderful! Our room, StormKing, and everything about this place is beautiful and charming (especially right before Christmas). It’s just a few steps from all the shopping and restaurants in Rhinebeck. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful (especially when we were flustered upon arrival in the dark after a very very long day of driving). Fresh coffee and pastries for breakfast capped it all off. Reasonably priced for Rhinebeck, and we would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone!

I had a wonderful evening at the Gables. If you like a B&B style this a great place to stay. I felt like a guest at a friend’s beautiful home, but peacefully unbothered of course. The people who run it are courteous and lovely. Top marks, hope to return soon.

I have already opened a case with Expedia and have not heard back- I contacted the hotel directly Hello, I have arrived at the property and am disappointed to find that it does not match the listing photos or description. The accommodations appear significantly more worn and less clean than represented online. In addition, I did not receive the check-in instructions with the access code, and when I rang the bell for assistance, the hostess was rude and dismissive. Because there are no alternative accommodations available in the area tonight, we are staying for one night only. However, I want to document these concerns immediately and request that this matter be reviewed. Please note that we do not consider the property to be as advertised I have photos documenting the condition of the property and can when we arrived rang the bell Pamela answered the door , very perturbed and asked me if I received the code which was in a text from Expedia. I said i didn't see it, then she briskly asked me what room i was in - there are only 4 rooms as you know and she had my name it was a very unwelcome welcome the bathtub the baseboards and dust in the hallways the description We stayed one night due to lack of availability elsewhere . right after I told her how unhappy I was, I told her we would be checking out on Sunday- U was not told I was going to be charlged for the whole reservation so i booked elsewhere and paid in advance thank you Robyn Glaser Booked through Expedia

The Gables is a quiet, charmingly updated 19-century home in the heart of Rhinebeck, NY. Managers John and Pamela Wurster are not only genuinely welcoming, but they treated us to some of the best coffee and croissants we’ve ever had—plus some fresh summer plums! The lovely white picket fence-enclosed yard is filled with flowers, birds, and happy squirrels and chipmunks—and great restaurants and fun shops are just a 5- to 10-min walk away.
