Loved the cleanliness and close proximity to shops and the ferry to Cozumel. The only draw back was that there\'s is only one pool and it wasn\'t even very deep. I\'m only 5\'2"and the water came up to my waist. Other than that everything else was great!

Hotel right on beach, great location, good restaurants, nice rooms. One pool which had dirty ring around it, smell from seaweed on beach was very strong (I know it’s nature however did make us feel ill), very little to do at hotel.

Is a really good all inclusive resort right beside Playa del Carmen city center and the dock from where the ships depart to Cozumel island. The best is the food and the whole staff. The less is the amount of amenities the hotel offers. The hotel is quite small so besides the pool, there is not much to do. Luckily for us, our plans were to visit Xcaret theme parks. And another not good part of the stay is the presence of sargazo sea weed that made the beach unvisitable. All and all is a good place to stay and our is experience was really good.

This resort was at a convinient location near Playa de Carmen shopping district. It was smaller in size than most of all inclusive resorts but had good staff and service. There were not many options/activities after 7 pm apart from live music in lobby and one 30 min show on weekday nights. Pool area were also closed after 7 pm. But the resort had good ocean views and had courteous staff.

Very nice small resort conveniently located. It is a block away to the port to go to Cozumel. Food was EXCELLENT! and staff is very friendly. I wish the pool was bigger. We went to Cozumel palace ( sister hotel) and spend the day at the beach and pool there.

Property is a bit dated but is due for renovation this September we’re told. Very clean. Staff are ALL incredible. Helpful, kind and very friendly. Pool is a fun low key vibe, bars are well stocked. Special restaurants are all very good. Our favorites were the Momo hibachi and Trattoria Italian. Honestly the evening buffet could have more options, but that truly was our only complaint. Breakfast in buffet was always very good and the snack shack by the upper pool bar had great options.

Good size for us, you were able to get to know the staff. This is not a gigantic facility which we liked. The staff were great, friendly, helpful, very attentive, specifically the service staff and activities staff, specifically Eric. Plenty of activities to break up the day to keep teens & adults busy if you were not planning to leave the property. Very good restaurants also with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were nice, except for the size of the beds We are a family of four with teenagers and the beds were doubles. We assumed we could get a rollaway and they did not have any. There is a huge tub in the room that takes up space. Would make more sense to see a pull out couch or queen beds. Everything else in the room was great. Large shower with separate sink area. I would recommend this place to others. Thank you

Our stay was lovely. The activities are wonderful with staff that really provides fun….yoga, pool volleyball were great. Daniel the head of Wellness is superb, professional and super fun. The buffet was great offering food that is fresh (fresh grilled fish) and many options. The restaurants are lovely as well. The spa is definitely a 5 star experience and stunning. The hotel is the closest right next door to the town center and super cute outside mall and boutique shops. If you are looking for expansive beach this is not your place as there’s little beach area in front - however amazing to sit at the pool overlooking the sea - and the beach water is easy to access and lovely.

Playacar palace resort property is a pretty small property. It has 4 restaurants and 2 cafes but very limited options for vegetarian. Food was good but menu items were repetitive on multiple days, so after spending 3-4 days you feel like there is nothing new that you can try. Pool closes at 7pm and there is nothing to do in the resort post 7pm. Staff were friendly and quite cooperative. Property is clean. Good point is that it’s location is pretty good and located next to the local market which is one of the good option to explore post 7pm.

Friendly, fun and relaxing. The resort is in a great location with easy walking to town. The food was excellent. The buffet had numerous choices each day and the onsite restaurants were great (we were easily able to make reservations after we checked in). There aren’t a ton of amenities but enough to keep us busy and happy during our stay. The staff were exceptional - very friendly and eager to help in every way.

Food very limited, beds not that comfy, internet access seemed fine, from the moment we got there we felt like things have gone downhill, we bought attention to the guest relations of several issues a/c not working calls every morning at 8am knocks at the doors at 8:30am even after telling them not to call us early they continued. Felt like as a smoker we was targetted many times. Sat on our balcony with security 5 feet away trying to make out we was smoking when we was just enjoying the view. I spent 5500 on this hotel and after the first day we requested a refund to move hotel the guest relations will tell you nothing they can do to help even tho there was sick in the pool I refused to let my child go in the pool for 3/4 days because all they did was bucket out the sick no closure of the pool to clean it properly and lied too about what it was floating around. After this we tried to get a refund again to be told no no no. All we wanted was to move to a sutible hotel which our kids could enjoy. The only thing keeping this hotel going is the servers at the pool and pool food area., silvia and Perla are the most beautiful humans and will do anything to help make your stay a pleasant one. Shame the hotel has gone down hill so much. Dirty pool all the time tiles falling off every where paintwork old and outdated if I was you I would look at other hotels as this hotel really let its self down and how ever much you spend there they will still not help you if problems arise.

Nice location. Beautiful beach. Good variety of food. Nice staff. The rooms are slightly dated and the shower had some mould. I would not say it’s a 5 star hotel but perhaps 4.

We felt very comfortable and the property is extremely clean. The restaurants are beautiful with great food. The pool is so much fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Everything about our 5 night stay was perfect. The resort is super clean, every employee was outstanding, from the check in to the wait staff, recreation staff, housekeeping, and bar tenders.

Located in an area that had a lot to walk to. Many restaurants and shops nearby and there is a mall next door. Compared to other resorts I stayed at I felt the safety was a little less than expected. At no time did I feel unsafe. But other resorts have long entry ways with security where this did not and anyone could walk onto the property and hotel. The hotel is a bit rundown. It needs a refresh which it seems to be doing. The food is good with one restaurant being closed for remodeling.

The service was exceptional, the entire property was impeccably clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We had a wonderful experience overall. Pros: Madre Mia Staff and Entertainment: Rodrigo and the chef made my husband's birthday special with excellent food and great service. Delicious Food: Most of the meals were delicious. Beautiful Beach: The stunning beach was right outside our room. Convenient Location: We enjoyed walking into town, though it was a bit dirty except for the high-end store section. Cons: Unprofessional Staff: Some staff members, like the buffet host and tours manager, were rude and unprofessional. The tours manager even threw a pamphlet at my husband when we mentioned being tired. Room Issues: We were promised a king-size bed but ended up with two full beds pushed together, and the beds smelled damp. The staff tried to upsell us on future bookings instead of resolving the issue. Lengthy Check-In: Check-in took over an hour, which was frustrating after a 14-hour trip. Unhelpful Front Desk: The front desk staff was standoffish when we asked not to wait three hours for the bed we were promised. Restaurant Manager's Behavior: The Italian restaurant manager made us uncomfortable by shaming us for taking leftovers, which discouraged us from returning.

We came one night and there was a leak in the ceiling from somebody sitting in a Jacuzzi above and that leaked into our closthes and the unclean water went in to one of my shirts and they took it for cleaning and they ruined it. My shirts was $574 and they would not admit that this was their fault and they only reimbursed me the taxi to another hotel. They were not professional with dealing with this issue.

This was a very poor experience. The hotel did not honor our booking. We were supposed to receive a room with two queen or full beds. We were told on arrival that that room type had been oversold. The only room available was a king (we were a group of three). They tried to position it as a “upgrade” based on the view. I declined the upgrade and ask for my reservation to be honored. The hotel declined. They said there was room to wheel in an extra bed. There was not. They ended up jamming a small, uncomfortable cot. We would have left, except we were meeting family also staying in the same hotel. I have taken photos of what we received compared to the marketing photos of what was promised. The experience was absolutely unacceptable. I will never go back.

We had a great time at Playacar Palace! Room was lovely- we got an upgrade to full ocean view. Staff is amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Food is delicious- my only note would be I wish the buffet was open every night, sometimes a dress up dinner is too much. Pool is fun, activity directors are great. I do wish they had more night life- things are pretty quiet by 10 pm. There was some impact from the seaweed problems in the area, but the hotel had workers/ trucks out there every morning working like crazy to clear the beach. By the end of the week it was much better. It is out of their control, unfortunately, but they are on top of it. My family went on many excursions and this is a great location for a home base for adventures- or if chilling by the pool is your thing, it’s great for that too! I feel like it’s smaller than some resorts, but I liked that! Highly recommend!

Good size for us, you were able to get to know the staff. This is not a gigantic facility which we liked. The staff were great, friendly, helpful, very attentive, specifically the service staff and activities staff, specifically Eric. Plenty of activities to break up the day to keep teens & adults busy if you were not planning to leave the property. Very good restaurants also with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were nice, except for the size of the beds We are a family of four with teenagers and the beds were doubles. We assumed we could get a rollaway and they did not have any. There is a huge tub in the room that takes up space. Would make more sense to see a pull out couch or queen beds. Everything else in the room was great. Large shower with separate sink area. I would recommend this place to others. Thank you

I really liked the quality of the food and food options it really stood out to me vs. other all inclusive hotels I’ve stayed at. The only downside was I was told I had a VIP room but had no balcony and our room had a ton of fruit flies maybe from previous people spilling food or drinks in the room perhaps?

The room was very nice, cleaned eveyday, and the mini bar was stocked daily as well. We got a walk out suite, and I would definitely get that again if i stay there again. The whole staff there was amazing and super friendly. MadreMia was delicious. We felt safe the whole time we were there, even when we walked over to 5th Ave, which is literally right around the corner. Overall its a good hotel

By booking through Expedia you get tagged with a different color wristband than everyone else at the resort, and it seems like you get worse service…Check in was not pleasant as the employee was not friendly or informative and we were not welcome with any sort of drink or amenities, Pool attendants didn’t help us get chairs set up, mini bar wasn’t restocked daily, staff was not super friendly or helpful, rooms are average, too few bathrooms around the pool (which usually needed cleaning), food is average, pool activities are constant so there is a lot of noise and commotion around the pool. The resort needs more seating areas that people can relax and hang out together in the evening. No food allowed by the pool. This hotel is not as nice as the rating reflects. Much room for improvement. It was a disappointing vacation. We will not be back

My review on this resort would be very long. But to sum up, I would not recommend this resort. The people are awesome. But the timeshare atmosphere is thick. And aggressive. Vacations are to be a way to relieve stress. Also, the seat around the pool issue is not small. Due to the timeshare, all of the good pool chars are taken. And will be held all day, even if no one uses them. So, the rest of the folks who are not "diamond" timeshare members, it's a hassle every day. Halfway through our trip they started to enforce the not holding of chairs. You had to be there to maintain the chair. And, as we left, there was another uninvited timeshare/offer. If the place was amazing, maybe I could overlook the timeshare pitches. But it wasn't. As for the food, it was good. Just good across the board. Other than desserts, that were way better than other resorts. Rooms were clean and nice size. Again, all of the staff were great. Just an awkward building.

The location was good if you wanted to go into Playa, Del Carmen and take the ferry to Cozumel or shop. The resort is very small and did not have a sports bar or place to hang out after dinner other than just a lobby bar. Service was great. Front desk check-in process could be quicker. Great smaller property with nice beach and pool. Enjoyed with four other families and lots of pool volleyball and activities. Entertainment was great. We went over Christmas week. Can’t go wrong with palace. If I could change one thing it would be queen beds. :) thanks!

Service is top notch. Everyone is attentive and quick. Location is perfect. Short walk to main part of town and right next to the ferry to Cozumel. The property could use a bit of a face lift. Staff advised the lobby area was recently renovated but the exterior is in need of attention. Nonetheless we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Is a really good all inclusive resort right beside Playa del Carmen city center and the dock from where the ships depart to Cozumel island. The best is the food and the whole staff. The less is the amount of amenities the hotel offers. The hotel is quite small so besides the pool, there is not much to do. Luckily for us, our plans were to visit Xcaret theme parks. And another not good part of the stay is the presence of sargazo sea weed that made the beach unvisitable. All and all is a good place to stay and our is experience was really good.

My best friend and I went to this resort to celebrate our birthdays and we had a great time. The resort is small which we loved because we didn’t have to walk far for anything. The rooms are modern, food is decent and the staff was great. If you are looking for a party/turnup resort, this is not the place. It’s a very relaxing and chill vibes type of resort.

I loved the central location yet still relaxing atmosphere at Playacar Palace. The cafe was a favourite and we enjoyed visiting the Cozumel Palace for the day where same privileges applied. Dining options were good and provided enough opportunity for variety across our week stay. One criticism is the cool temperature of the rooms which persists even when the aircon is turned off - apparently a fan is constantly on the reduce humidity build up in the rooms. The beach, although rough, was preferred by our children (12 and 9) but we ended each day in the pool and spa watching the sun go down- really idyllic! All in all, a great stay.

Very clean resort, far enough away from the nightclubs so you can't hear them at night, but walkable to all shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. It's also very near to the ferry to Cozumel, so you can easily take a day trip if you wanted. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating. I would stay here again.

The Playacar Palace has a great location near Playa del Carmen with easy access to shopping and the ferry to Cozumel. The food, drinks and staff are top notch. Rooms are comfortable. All common areas except restaurants are open air so it's warm and humid most of the time - could be a plus or minus depending on who you are. The worst thing about our stay in late June was the Sargassum algae/seaweed. We know it's always bad in this area in the summer, but the stink creates an ever present odor and of course the beach is impossible to swim at. Because this hotel sits so close to the water, you get a lot more effect from the sargassum than at other properties, like when we stayed at the Moon Palace properties. We took a day trip to Cozumel and there was no sargassum issue - if you want to get on a beach, that's the only way. We felt bad for a wedding party taking photos on the bit of sand not covered with a large pile of unsightly yuck right behind them. While we really enjoyed out stay, I'd try the Cozumel Palace in the summer instead - there's no beach, but no sargassum issue. Effectively the Playacar Palace has no beach in the summer and suffers from bad smells and unsightly red brown nastiness covering the water and sand. Put this property on a clean beach, effectively Cozumel Palace, and it would be amazing!

Property is a bit dated but is due for renovation this September we’re told. Very clean. Staff are ALL incredible. Helpful, kind and very friendly. Pool is a fun low key vibe, bars are well stocked. Special restaurants are all very good. Our favorites were the Momo hibachi and Trattoria Italian. Honestly the evening buffet could have more options, but that truly was our only complaint. Breakfast in buffet was always very good and the snack shack by the upper pool bar had great options.

The service in the restaurants was very poor and unfriendly. They also had many rules regarding reservations and opening hours. The pool closed early, and at 10 a.m. on Saturday, the pool bar was still closed. The only VIP benefit we received was a room upgrade. Otherwise, the service at the facilities was average.

The property has no sand beach although the pictures show sand beach with beach chairs. During the 4 nights stay none of the pool showers were functional. Windows panels throughout the common areas were dirty. Pool overcrowded and hard to find a beach chair. Almost impossible to book a restaurant for dinner. Guest service is useless, they ask you to book everything through their app. Redeeming resort credits limited and complicated.

The Playacar Palace has a great location near Playa del Carmen with easy access to shopping and the ferry to Cozumel. The food, drinks and staff are top notch. Rooms are comfortable. All common areas except restaurants are open air so it's warm and humid most of the time - could be a plus or minus depending on who you are. The worst thing about our stay in late June was the Sargassum algae/seaweed. We know it's always bad in this area in the summer, but the stink creates an ever present odor and of course the beach is impossible to swim at. Because this hotel sits so close to the water, you get a lot more effect from the sargassum than at other properties, like when we stayed at the Moon Palace properties. We took a day trip to Cozumel and there was no sargassum issue - if you want to get on a beach, that's the only way. We felt bad for a wedding party taking photos on the bit of sand not covered with a large pile of unsightly yuck right behind them. While we really enjoyed out stay, I'd try the Cozumel Palace in the summer instead - there's no beach, but no sargassum issue. Effectively the Playacar Palace has no beach in the summer and suffers from bad smells and unsightly red brown nastiness covering the water and sand. Put this property on a clean beach, effectively Cozumel Palace, and it would be amazing!

It’s true that the resort looks worn and could do with a makeover. After reading the reviews we expected that and had no issue. Staff are great, food is good to excellent (only had one below average meal which was at the Italian. We ate at Madremia twice it was so good, and the coffee shop was excellent ). Downsides are there isn’t enough seating throughout the resort to find a place to just chill. Pool and beachside seating gets claimed early in the day and there isn’t enough of it, though that didnt bother us. However they have a huge veranda which is unused. Fill it with comfortable seating and put sails up for shade and you’d have a perfect area! Beach is very small but the public beach which is walking distance south is beautiful. We found this a good place to stay for five nights to explore the area. Wouldn’t want to stay longer. We did spend a day at the Cozumel resort which was a nicer place to chill by the sea, and do some good snorkelling, but is similarly small. We transferred here from the Majestic Elegance in Costa Mujeres which was much more indulgent and beach friendly, but also remote. So we think we did the best of both worlds.

Essa foi a segunda vez que nos hospedamos em um dos hotéis da rede Palace, a primeira foi no Beach Palace em Cancún e agora no Playacar, e a experiência foi praticamente a mesma, o hotel é excelente, com funcionários muito simpáticos e o atendimento e limpeza do hotel impecáveis. O único ruim na estadia foi o cheiro do sargaço que vinha da praia, mas que todos os dias era limpo pela equipe do hotel, porém não estragou em nada nossas férias. A comida e a bebida são um deleite, tudo muito bem servido e preparado, o restaurante Madremía e o Trattoria são os melhores dos restaurantes especializados, fomos surpreendidos pela comida e pelos restaurantes em si, e para reservar sempre foi muito tranquilo pelo aplicativo. Sugiro reservar 1 dia antes para garantir o melhor horário para você. Fora isso o Coffee House oferece cafés, bebidas quentes e doces durante todo dia, é tudo muito bem preparado, além de crepes e macarons. A piscina é muito boa, apesar de não ser muito grande, mas atende bem a quantidade de hospedes do hotel. I had a very disappointing experience at Playacar Palace and would never stay here again. The biggest issue was the terrible customer service. The hotel had extremely low water pressure throughout our stay, making it difficult to shower or even use the sink properly. On top of that, there was a horrible odor coming from the seaweed along the beach. The smell was overwhelming, and the beach was completely closed, which defeated one of the main reasons we chose this resort. Because the hotel had very low occupancy, the food selection was also very limited. There was very little variety compared to what you would expect from a resort at this price point. When I decided to check out early because of these issues, the hotel refused to provide any refund. Instead, they offered to transfer us to another one of their properties—but only if we paid an additional charge. They wouldn’t even cover the taxi between their own hotels. To make matters worse, they told us the taxi would cost only $95, but the actual fare was $130. The impression I was left with is that once they have your money, they have very little interest in taking care of their guests or making things right. Instead of acknowledging the problems and trying to resolve them fairly, they simply shifted the cost and inconvenience onto us. I cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience. There are many better options in Playa del Carmen that value their guests and provide the level of service you would expect.

Equipe excelente, atendimento diferenciado. Padrão Palace, comida e instalações. Único ponto que deixou a desejar eh que a partir de Júlio de 2026 não deixaram mais passar o dia no Cozumel Palace, já tinha planejado passar o dia lá e fui surpreendido com esta mudança repentina.
