Seaside Garden Hotel

The place was cheap and easily accessible. that was about it. There was no coffee in the room (tea yes, but we don't drink tea). the Pool was off limits due to being green (The whole reason we chose to stay there besides it being cheap, was for the pool) and unclean. there was no breakfast or food being served.

Not enough security cameras, not enough control, the quality of people were very disrespectful, they were ding dong ditching all hours of the night, people were very noisy didnt do anything about it. False publicity interms of the entertainment areas, the pool table was a joke, all cue sticks had no tips the pool table was MDF and not stone. The swimming pool water was dirty and nobody did anything about it, my son got a rash after swimming in the pool water, our room television didnt work, my refridgerator was leaking and had terrible temperature control. In conclusion I would never recomend to anybody about staying the night a Seaside garden retreat Wamberal.

Despite an obvious effort to re-tile or at least grout the bathroom, the craftsmanship was extremely poor. The shower screen needs replacing along with the tap and shower head where water came out in odd directions. The curtains were threadbare and had rips in them. However the kids enjoyed the pool table and table tennis in the games room.

It was great to be able to have my pets with me. It is not good that the so-called fenced area was not pet-proof, with large gaps under fences, and hedges instead of fencing, allowing everything to escape. Attention to properly closed in pet court-yards would hugely improve the Resort. Also, some food/drink vending machines?

The property is looking very tired and dated and needs renovating. However, our stay there was pleasant. The room was large,clean and very comfortable and the staff are good.The grounds around the motel buildings are very nice and spacious and include large grassed areas and a tennis court.

1. The tv remote didn't work properly, 2. The mattress was old & uncomfortable 3. Get new balls & pool cues. 4. Couldn't get the pool spa working. Could be amazing place with lots to do but need to make sure each thing there is working properly

Definitely a good location and handy for people travelling with pets. However it’s an old hotel in dire need of maintenance and updating, not a place you’d stay for longer than two nights. We did enjoy the pool on a hot weekend!

Walking across wet lawn to get to stairs to access room. Sliding door to deck was difficult to shut and lock Front door marked Complex was relatively dark, safety & security an issue. Question the availability of food menu Switches were inadequate and confused as to what each switch was working each outlet Smell of aging complex No water glasses Early check out : front door open but no body at reception. Left key in “express check out” cupboard Doona needed clean or replacement We would never stay there again, or recommend to others. Fee for quality of service advertised was almost misleading. Property is old and run down, the curtain and light fittings were barely hanging on the walls. The doors were difficult to open and close, let alone lock. Outdoor area was dirty and clearly has not been cleaned or maintained for months, we dared not use the pool. There was also alot of animal waste on the grounds. I’m surprised the lawn was even mown. The games room had a pool table , in terrible condition, a ping pong top on the other , with equipment that looks like was picked up by the side of the road. If I was there with my wife & daughters , we wouldn’t have stayed an hour.

I loved having a yard for my dog, very convenient and the reason I chose this property. The pool was well maintained and I enjoyed having it. Unfortunately the property has been allowed to slowly fall into disrepair. It would have been awesome in its heyday, there were now overgrown veggie gardens, coy pond still has fish but was lacking water and needed a good clean. The aircon in my room dripped water inside directly above one of the few power points. No coffee machine or available breakfast that was advertised and very minimal teabags etc. I assume the dog friendly rooms are probably the least maintained as the place was quite full. I did enjoy my stay despite this.

As soon as we walked into the room we were greeted with a terrible smell that seemed to be stuck to the rooms inner soul. When we turned on the bathroom light / fan , the fan was rattling so loud it would keep a hibernating brown bear awake all winter. Additonaly, there was a huge wet patch on the floor whcih made us keep out shoes on the whole time. May have only been this room but will definitely never stay there again for the price we paid.

Bed bugs everyhwere! Just dirty and old

This hotel was the most disappointing establishment we have had the misfortune of visiting. The pervasive odor and uncleanliness were overwhelming, and even our dog refused to eat in the room. A cockroach was discovered in my room, and the pillow was extremely uncomfortable and lacked sufficient loft. We experienced severe discomfort, verging on nausea. Despite booking a two-night stay and paid an extra 72$ for our dog, we departed after the first day due to our deteriorating health. The hotel's name suggests a level of luxury, but the reality is far inferior to even the most basic accommodations in developing countries.

Nothing was upkept, the place was so dirty there was the last peoples hair in the shower. Looked like they had just changed the bedding and not cleaned anything else. Was given 2 half rolls of toilet paper and the matresses very uncomfortable. Air con didn't work either.

Room was dirty and dusty. Using shower caused floor waste to flood bathroom.

The bathroom vanity was falling apart the curtains were falling apart/torn and dirty. Chairs on the balcony were old and not comfortable to sit in. Had to take the inside chairs to use the balcony. The table we had to put a beach towel on as it was so dirty. The whole place needs to be maintained and given a good clean to get up to a satisfactory standard.

overall the place is lovely - very light and airy and clean. the one thing that let us down was the scum around the taps in bathroom sink and the scum around the sink - the rest was clean however didn't finish the job. As a result I ended up cleaning it myself with tissue and a spoon the clean the edges. Was so simple to clean and if I had cleaning fluid would have taken seconds - lazy cleaning. Didn't end up staying the night and left early

This was the most disgusting place on earth. Do NOT stay here. My bed was held together by a protruding screwdriver. NO SMOKE ALARM. DRUG pipes in a cupboard - one smashed to pieces, Bathroom fan was falling from ceiling, one lock on the filthy door. Filth on the floors and counter/table tops, opened sachets of coffee provided with newer ones, the gardens unkempt even a rusty chair in with the fish pond, VERY noisy, no customer service, Dirty bbq provided but nothing to cook with and no plates/cutlery so no point cooking - seriously a disgrace and I'll be reporting higher when I get home. It should not be allowed to be open. A bus load of kids and noisy women arrived and it took forever for them to be roomed - they hung around outside my room and I couldn't hear myself think. Not organised, no welcome. FERAL.

Very outdated. Curtains randomly hanging on whatever hooks are not broken. Dogs barking all night from people walking up and down all night. Pillows were so thin they could barely be called pillows. Cockroaches in the room.

The toilet was dirty, cob webs on the ceiling, lounge and wardrobe were very smelly

Room was clean however noise from other rooms was loud. No blankets although air-conditioning. Taps dripped. In need of decent update to room. Friendly reception

Good - room size, some 30 sqm, two double beds (although we ordered one queen, but it looks like all room have at least two beds. Rooms overlooking park area, nice, green and quiet. And the rates are cheap comparing to other properties available it the area (it's about 5-10 min drive to Terrigal, 15 min drive to The Entrance). Separate table and two chairs inside and another set at the balcony. Enough power points around the room (it's often a problem in hotels). Bad - this property probably fits definition of "run-down". Everything is old, no fly screen, fridge produced more water than cool, shower door replaced with a curtain, bath in poor state (although clean). No batteries were supplied with A/C remote.

It was nice, sheets were clean, however the fridge was noisy, the rooms need some maintenance, and the toilet didn’t flush.

The main areas of the property were clean and tidy. The rooms were a bit dated and showing their age. Bathroom was decent but a bit tired. The place was quiet and bed was comfortable enough but pillows may as well have been a rolled up t-shirt. There were no extra pillows or blankets in the room and no one on reception when we got in to get some more. Not a bad place for a night if you just want somewhere to sleep but maybe byo pillow.

Our aircon didn’t work The bathroom was pretty ordinary. If you needed a toilet brush there was none

Just basic... I know it was cheap, but extremely basic. All very old and out dated. Bad beds and pillows, no kitchenette only a toaster and kettle on one "cupboard", a fridge over there. No lounge and a tiny table. Old bathroom with a shower curtain that was not closing due to a screw in the track. No flyscreens in the window & only letting flys in, so we just kept the aircon on most of the time (a shame as I love the coastal air and it wasn not too hot) The room was huge and totally waste of space Other guests were loud till 10pm and no one fro the hotel told them to quite down

We received an upgrade to a top floor balcony room. The room was very spacious.

Perfect location for beach “staycation” adventures only 4 minutes away. We stayed one night, I can’t imagine you’d want to stay longer if you wanted more comfort. Definitely an old place with extremely flat pillows & we had a kettle base but no kettle. For a quick stay though, the aircon was cold, the shower was hot with great water pressure. Room clean but dated. Didn’t try the pool because we stayed all day at the beach and ate out hence only looking for a bed over night.

Staffs and Services are good and helpful.

The front counter staff were rude on check in. The room was not clean the shower walls were disgusting marks/stains on the walls in the sleeping area. No lightbulbs in the main room so only 1 light in the whole room. The pool was milky and dirty. Very loud had other guests waking us up each night at all hours. Basic bedding sheet then a thin doona no cover then another sheet on top not all the pillows had cases on them.

Love that they have rooms for pets and the owner was so lovely upon check in

Waited at reception for over 15 minutes to be served at 4.15 pm. Room not ready at 4.30pm - had to wait another 15 minutes . Poor state of facilities - no bed lights, soap holder in shower broken, fire detector covered up with a plastic bag! , no toilet paper , cupboard door broken . Not recommended .

I rang to ask for early access to room for 1:30pm instead of usual 2:30pm & nothing had been done about it. Though they had said it would be OK. Communication was very poor due to poor English. We were given a room where the cleaner had just started cleaning so that stressed her so she said there were other rooms available. He finally understood what we were asking for & gave us a room, as we needed to unload our car so we could put a wheelchair in it to take my mum out who lives locally. The room we were given had no overhead lights only one bedside light. The bathroom fan was so noisy & in need of repair. The plumbing in shower, hand basin & toilet all need fixing as constantly leaking. There was no toaster, no microwave to be able to fix your own breakfast in the morning. There were no glasses supplied only 3 teacups & a few milk samples, not enough to give yourself cereal. We take our own bowls & cutlery but would be good to have a basic set in a room. Beds were comfortable & generally the room was clean. We had recently stayed at smaller Motels that were $30 cheaper than what we paid here & they had all the amenities & facilities you need in a room for an overnight stay when travelling. So definitely not value for money here. I know the owners are only new but they need to fix up the basics in each room before doing major renovations as it’s often the little details that count.

The room was clean except the shower no reception and didn't know how to get key just lucky another visitor told us to try the restaurant

I liked the friendly face on arrival and the location was great. There was plenty of hot water for a shower. My only dislike was the fact that we only had three days there. If we were in the area again we will stay there again. The restaurant attached is nice and the food was really good and plentiful. The room we stayed in had no microwave which is a real oversight in these days for people on the move.

Due to the very wet weather it was impossible to get an appreciation of the gardens etc. The room was clean but the overall view of the accommodation was that it was very tired and needed an upgrade. For the price it was a good stay. The Lantern Restaurant however was superb. The service, food and general appearance was excellent.
