Advantages - Close to Train station and Woolworths shopping, helpful staff, clean. Disadvantages - No Lift and No Guest Laundry. Ideal for a short stay if you are coming into or leaving Sydney

Great motel except the stairs, we loved everything about it but those stairs, put in a lift guys.

I spent 5 days at this hotel and was very happy about my stay. Location is really good since it is right across the street from the train station and a grocery store and other facilities are close by. The room was spacious and well equipped. Everything was clean and I would definitely stay here again. The only downside is that construction is still going on and started at 4:30 in the morning which was noch very pleasant to be woken up this early. Besides that I really enjoyed my stay here.

Great value for money. Parking a bit hit and miss due competing with pub clientelle. A toaster in room would be nice.

Kingsgrove Hotel is a pub/bistro with refurbished accommodation upstairs. The check in staff was lovely, she was fast and helpful. Room was basic, updated but on the smaller side although perfect for one night and location to airport (the reason I was staying) so convenient. Rain shower was hot, bed was comfortable, aircon and ceiling very handy as.warm summer's day. Although room was soundproofed there was music noise from downstairs until approx. 10.30pm (it was a Saturday night after all) but nothing to worry about. Lots of dining options nearby, plus a big supermarket right across the road. Had to move my car from the dedicated hotel car park due to my early 6am departure, grateful for the notice in the room that advised Kingsgrove's car park closed between 3am-10am. Easy, free street parking at train station opposite. Would definitely recommend staying there for easy train link into Sydney or if needing to be at airport early (international terminal is 8 min drive)

The room was very cozy and clean with all the basic necessity. The bed was comfortable, with good option of pillows. The bar was open till late if you wanted a night cap.

Bar and casino downstairs made me feel unsafe.

Stayed here from Brisbane for 2 nights for a festival. Check in was a breeze, staff were beyond lovely and helpful. Free parking on-site as well as ample street parking. Room was cozy, very clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. Facilities as a whole were really good. Only down side was the bistro being closed when we tried to have dinner there Saturday night. Other than that, location, convenience and hotel were all 10/10

Quiet, easy parking, bistro ., comfortable modern room

I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels over the last 10 years and have never left a review good or bad, however in this case it is necessary as it is unacceptable to have very loud demolition work undertaken in the hotel at 4:30am. I was not told on booking or arrival with only a notice on my door mentioning early morning renovation work. 8am would have been acceptable but not 4:30am. The room itself was very nice, just let down by the disregard for guests peace and quiet. I was banking on a good nights sleep the night of the renovations as I had a 14 hour and 8 hour flight to undertake back home.

Straight forward easy accommodation. Room was clean and comfortable. Great value

The room was newly set up, clean, and quiet even though it was located above a sports bar. The carpet looked brand new and smelled fresh. During our three-night stay, we received excellent room service, with fresh towels provided every day. Overall, it’s an excellent place to stay and especially for couples. Last but not least, the staff’s instructions were clear, and they were very friendly.

We stayed here for 3 nights having just arrived from the UK. Thankfully we arrived on a Saturday night so the construction work (which we only found out about from a note on our room door) did not disturb a much needed lie in. When it wasn't Sunday though the builders turned up and were banging and drilling, on the Monday from about 6am and 5am on the Tuesday. It is absolutely not on to take bookings (or not inform preexisting bookings) about this significant disruption. We appreciate places need to have work done but it was so loud and so early! We had a couple of cleanliness issues with the room and the staff were magnificent in dealing with it promptly. They were friendly and could not be more obliging for our whole stay. The issue with construction is not the staffs fault and we feel bad leaving a 3 star review when the staff and location are absolutely 5 star. I think this place has ambitions and I hope once the construction is finished they do extremely well but sadly the amount of disruption was too much for us to ignore in this review. Check it is finished before you book!

The room was so depressing. Hot, no natural light, couldn’t open the blind. The air conditioner didn’t work properly. The room had an awful cleaning product smell. The shower was good though.

We stayed here four nights, and found the hotel to be clean, comfortable, and quiet. Layout is the bottom floor is a large spacious pub with restaurant, upper floor has 11 hotel rooms and some offices. Our room had a nice view of the street. There are separate entrances for the pub and for the hotel rooms. Check in is at the pub. The room was a bit small, furnished with a bed large enough for two people, end tables on each side of it, desk and chair suitable for computer work, preparing food, etc., a small refrigerator, electric kettle, a closet with clothes rack, iron and ironing board, and a television. The bed was a bit soft, but comfortable. Bathroom was clean and in good condition, plenty of hot water, big shower, exhaust fan. No smoking allowed, and the room didn't smell. The window is not built to open, and it got a bit stuffy sometimes. There was a ceiling fan. The AC worked well. Free parking was included, but the lot is not large, you might have to wait for someone to leave before you can park, especially during busy times. We had no problem parking in the early afternoon, about half the spots were available then, but they tended to fill up in the evening. The lot is closed when the pub is: 4AM to 10AM, but you can still exit if you need to. Location is excellent, the train station is about 100 meter walk, airport and CBD are convenient. There is a Woolworths grocery store a block away, a BWS Liquor store, and various other shops and restaurants in the area.

The staff were helpful when we requested a second key card for the room. The room was a good size and the King bed that we was very spacious and comfortable. The room was spotless and there was ample space for clothes, food and it even had a desk and chair. Nice clean and attractive bathroom too. The lift was aalso a great improvement since the last time we came. This is the third time we have stayed here and we will definitely stay here again. Great location and Highly recommended.

VERY quiet room considering it’s over a pub so good soundproofing with the exception of some random banging every night the 4 nights I stayed there but not loud enough to keep you awake and not all night. Comfortable room, comfortable bed, pretty clean (but I’m a cleaner and def wasn’t to a great standard) super convenient next to the train station, Woolies and places to eat close by. Staff were ok on check in. Would def stay again.

The staff were really friendly and informative! Room was pretty cosy, only thing the cord on the blind was broken, so I couldn't roll up to let in the morning sun. Room was clean and quiet, located near shops and easy parking.

Great location right next to the train station and free parking. Excellent value for money: a motel quality room at pub prices. No pub noise in the rooms, and couldn't hear the trains. Bistro meals restaurant quality at pub generous servings - very yummy and wide variety. When renovations finish it will be a great peaceful and pleasant stay.

Great stay but need some improvements on overall room lighting and the study light. All windows cannot be opened for some form of ventilation.

I have stayed at this property several times over several years and previously been very happy. The property has recently extended the hotel adding small rooms (boxes) without windows or a desk. The photos and the booking promote the original rooms. In summary the room was not as advertised, the nightly rate was excessive for the room provided. It's unfortunate and I will probably no longer stay at this hotel.

The room looked newly renovated and was clean. However, it was way smaller than shown on the photos. With two suitcases and two small carry-on trolleys there was barely any room left to move around.

Surprisingly good (once you find it) Great location, right next to the train station, restaurants and shops, so you can roll out of bed and be on a train or eating something fried in about three minutes flat. The only real adventure is finding where to check in. There’s no obvious reception area, so you wander around feeling like you’ve snuck into a staff-only zone before discovering that you actually check in at the bar. On the plus side, if check-in is stressful, a drink is only a swivel of the barstool away. Once you’re past that, the room itself is a very pleasant surprise: nice, large and clean, with enough space that you’re not playing suitcase Tetris. The ironing equipment was a genuinely appreciated touch – perfect if you’ve been living out of a bag and your clothes have developed “permanent fold” status. The bed was comfortable, the room did what it needed to do, and overall it’s good value for money. If you don’t mind your “reception desk” being a bar counter, it’s a solid and slightly quirky place to stay.

I have stayed here a few times now :) No issues, rooms are great for the money you pay - shower and bathroom and everything you need. Staff were friendly, one actually let me leave my heavy bag behind the bar so I didn't have to lug it around for hours before check-in time :)

Construction work ongoing and occurred at 7am on consecutive days, seriously affect the sleep quality. AC on and off sometimes. No checkout counter in the morning so ended up needing to call the staff about the check out

Pros: - Modern facilities - Very close to the Kingsgrove Train Station Cons: - Reception only opens at 10am everyday -Check in time is 2pm and they will not let you check in even if you specified that you would be arriving early -'After-hours' contact is only available after 8am -Website does not list the After-hours contact number or what to do to check out before reception opens at 10am -The hotel does not offer After-Hours Check Ins Personal Experience: Disappointing I notified staff that I was arriving 1-2pm, arrived at 1:30 and my room was not ready. The bed had been made neatly only on the outside. The inner sheets were covered in hair, crumbs and sand? from the previous guest. I notified staff and was told that the cleaner 'was away and would be back in two days' and was dismissive. (Despite stating on their website that extra cleaning measures were being conducted) The towel rack in my room was very loose, fell off the hinges, and landed on my foot. We had to leave around 7am and our car was barricaded inside the hotel guest parking. After looking for ages for the 'After hours contact' at 8am we were informed that the barricades can be lifted up and we could get out of the car park. There was no indication or signage to do this. Even if the normal check-out time is 10am, it would be very difficult to properly check out before then, especially if someone had a car.

The room was small but clean and comfy. The staff at check-in was terrible, didn’t speak hardly any English and was rude. When I asked for Internet password which was needed I was told she didn’t know and that was it. Not good enough.

Go and ask for Joe at the reception - a legend he is. First look at him and you know that this man comes with an ocean of experience & wisdom yet he’s extremely humble & very helpful. He made my stay special. Thanks Joe

Clean old pub rooms with better than average fittings. Comfortable and well kept. Bar staff were friendly and helpful on check in. Location is great - right near the station.

There were works going on at the property, it wasnt noisy or anythingbut should be good when completed. One thing i missed was availability of breafast. Overall, it was comfortable be it a little small in the room

The Kingsgrove Hotel was a great place to stay. I chose it based on some pretty good reviews, plus it had its own ensuite. Proximity to the Railway station was another considerable advantage, as we were going to the football in Kogarah, it was a 20 minute train ride with a changeover near the airport. The food at the bistro was great too as well as the selection of drinks on tap. The rooms are adequately sized for a couple plus the new renovated bathroom was great. They also have parking on site and it’s so easy to get in and out of!!

This place is worth every penny train station across the street ,bar and food on main floor ,staff were great from check in to check out ,any questions i had were answered right there i will stay here whenever i am in sydney

Top place to stay. They had a Tuesday night special for dinner. 300g T bone, chips, salad and a drink of your choice for $21. Very good meal. We will be returning next time we fly out of Sydney.

Great hotel, beautiful bistro meals. Clean and quiet, very comfortable bed☆☆
