We had an excellent time at the Mikado. It was our first time to Costa Rica and it was probably one of our best holidays. Such a fun adventure. Lolo was an excellent host and if you do stay you must take advantage of her dinners. Incredibly romantic. The location is perfect. Quick drives to Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas and Playa Conchal. Great places to explore and then return to the peace and tranquility of the lodge. Absolutely perfect.

This - this is the place you want to stay in Costa Rica. A pure treasure!! From the beautifully designed bungalows- landscape- serene pool- relaxing hot tub - fabulous food - AND most gracious host Lolo - a perfect getaway!!! Enjoy this out of the way - but in so the right place gem of a hotel!!! And yes- Negrita- the pig- along with the dogs… best hotel amenities ever!!! Seriously - don’t think twice- this is what a stay in CR should be!!! Thank you Lolo- you have created a magical place!!!!

Negrita is the best host in Costa Rica 🐷 The true queen of the lodge, she’s such a fun and unexpected part of the experience, and honestly made our stay even more memorable. Beyond that, Mikado is peaceful and surrounded by lush nature. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, and daily breakfast was lovely. Everything felt warm, personal, and genuinely welcoming
