Thistledene

Ich habe einen verregneten Tag in Braunton gemütlich im Thistledene verbracht. Es hat nichts gefehlt. Herzlichen Dank!

I received a warm and friendly welcome from Tommy when I arrived and he kindly offered me a lift to a nearby venue the next day (I was in Braunton for a wedding). The room itself is large (huge bed!) and comfortable, with a small kitchenette in the corner that includes a fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, though do note, there are no cooking facilities. This was fine for me (-I brought muesli with me.) Everything was clean and comfortable. There's also a seating area outside for your morning coffee. Thistledene is just 2 minutes from a bus stop from Barnstaple station, if you are travelling by train. From the same bus stop, buses take you to Saunton beach and Ilfracombe in 20-30 mins. The village centre is a seven minute walk away and there's a handy co-op store as well as restaurants and independent shops, a small wildlife centre and museum. I would stay there again.

I only had a 3 night stay at Thistledene, but could have stayed longer. I am a solo traveler staying in Braunton, visiting relatives who live in Wrafton. I can stay with them but they have children and a dog, so it's quite pleasant to get away and have a bit of peace in the late evening. Thistledene, The Copper Room was so clean and ideal, it has a little outside space to sit and enjoy a drink, one of the many amenities on offer for an over-night stay. A toaster, milk, coffee and tea and all utensils are provided as well as TV and a lovely shower room, not forgetting a large comfortable bed. I will definitely stay again!
