Solid 3 stars. The room we had was bigger and more spacious than our previous hotel in Ginza. Conveniently located near multiple train stations and Dotonbori. The lobby area smelled like food coming from the kitchen. It’s not always a pleasant smell. This hotel was worth the price we paid.

This is a great Hotel close to Dotonbori (about 10 min walk) and just a few steps away from a Subway station, there are Family Marts and 7-Elevens close by, which are a great plus, the staff is friendly and although not all of them speak perfect english, they do their best which is certainly appreciated. Breakfast is very good , being traditional Japanese/Korean dishes, I sent my luggage via KuroNeko and some packages from Amazon, they were kind enough to bring everything to my room automatically and were also kind enough to hold my luggage for a few hours on the day I checked out. My only concern is that Front Desk staff is not available 24/7, which makes sense, since the Hotel is small, and that they close the front door at night (you need your room key to get in) so if you forget or lose your room key while out, you will not be able to even get back on to the property (they have a phone number listed outside for emergencies) Based on the above, if you are coming from abroad, make sure you have a way to place phone calls in Japan, I did not have any issues with this but it's certainly something to keep in mind if you plan to stay out late. Will definitely return to this Hotel

Hotel Kojan was a comfortable and budget-friendly place to stay. The room was spacious, especially by Japanese standards, which we really appreciated. The staff were friendly and generally very helpful. The location was excellent—just a short walk to Dotonbori and surrounded by plenty of bars and places to eat. We highly recommend the onigiri place just a few doors down, and there’s also a nearby ramen spot that serves a delicious fire miso ramen. There was a bit of a damp smell in the room when we first arrived, but it went away after we kept the air conditioning running during our stay, so it wasn’t a major issue. We used the laundry service, which was convenient and a nice amenity. However, it’s worth noting that they seemed to use a hot drying setting, which caused some minor shrinking to our clothes. If you plan to use it, it might be a good idea to specify your preferences in advance. Still, it was great to have clean laundry taken care of. Housekeeping came daily to change towels and take out the trash, except on the second-to-last day. We’re not sure if that was intentional or just an oversight, but it’s something to be aware of. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would recommend Hotel Kojan to travelers looking for an affordable, comfortable, and well-located stay in Osaka.

전체적으로 깨끗하고 무엇보다 이불이 푹신 푹신해서 좋았어요! 그리고 3인실에 침대가 3개로 나눠져 있다는 점도 큰 장점이었습니다! 다만 1층에만 공용 전자레인지가 있다는 점이 불편하고 방을 치워주는 서비스는 제대로 안 되는 날도 종종 있었어요! 하지만 전체적으로 깔끔하고 냄새도 안나서 좋았습니다.(가장 아쉬운 점은 호텔에서 도톤보리로 가는 길이 호스트나 몸 파는 그런 시설이 많아서 여자들끼리 다니기 무서웠다는 점..?)

It was a very small dated hotel with very few amenities. There’s a restaurant connecting to the lobby where you can smell cigarette smoke. No laundry facilities onsite. I stayed there 5 days and 4 nights, but did not receive any room cleaning. Only the trash was picked up and towels exchanged. The housekeeper was very nice. The owner / manager speaks English well. One of the female front desk staff didn’t seem friendly.

The hotel is in a great area. The restaurant was under renovation, but we didn't have any inconvenience at all regarding that. We got a box-lunch for breakfast to eat in our rooms, which was very convenient because we took the leftovers for a picnic during the day. The only problem was the room (non smoking) smelt like tobacco, somebody definitely smoked there earlier. The staff was super super friendly and kind and helpful and helped us with all our inquiries and problems.

The staff and crew were friendly. However, the building itself and room was undesirable. The room is not well ventilated. It has a strong smell and always feels humid. When the AC is turned on, the cool air also emits an odor. Our sink was also partially clogged. I understand that it is an older building, but I would expect upgrades and improvements like our shower curtains which were mouldy. Unfortunately, I would not return or recommend this hotel.

위치도 괜찮고, 친절하시고, 가족수에 맞게 수건도 잘 교체해 주시고, 체크아웃도 간편해서 좋았습니다. 다만 룸에서 퀴퀴한 냄세가 나고 엄청나게 큰 바퀴벌레가 나와서 너무나 놀라 잠을 설쳤네요..T T

The staff were excellent, especially the reception lady. She was very helpful and polite. The room has no view but looking into someone elses front door, so no privacy there. The room was not cleaned properly as you could find dust everywhere. The location for excellent.

It was located in a convenient location. There were many dining options within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The property is a little worn. The room smelled a bit musty and one of the beds had damp covers on it. It felt as though they took the bedding out of the dryer a bit too early. There was no view. The only view we had was of another buildings staircase.

Overall good experience. The room was big and good location. Room and hotel was clean but could do with some touchups. Bathroom is very small and extractor fan didn't seem to do much so once you had a shower the whole bathroom had condensation everywhere. Had required facilities provided such as hairdryer and small fridge. The rooms aren't the most sound proof so could hear noise from people in the street late at night and construction work from 7am on some days but this can't be helped. Was able to drop bags off before check-in which is always helpful.

Excellent location, walking distance to metro station and to alot of amenities. We had family room, which was large for Japan standards, would have appreciated a bigger toilet though and the room had a strange “musky smell “ when we walked in! (Soon went away once we had the A/C on for 24hrs….) for location alone, I would recommend this place 👍

Worst of the 3 hotels I've stayed at in Japan so far. Was unaware there was building work on (until mid June according to signs). So lift was covered in insulation materials, walls bare, banging started at 8.40 am but I was up anyway at that time. Room fine, has the essential aircon and fridge. Window completely blacked out with some black material glued to it for some reason. Bed good, 3/4 size in my single room. Was a super noisy guest one night making banging noises near continuously until 2.30am. Small hotel, you have to almost squeeze by reception, and always groups loitering outside the front door for some reason. Would choose another place next time in Osaka, as the other 2 hotels I've tried so far (Tokyo and Kyoto) are so much better for similar money.
Worst of the 3 hotels I've stayed at in Japan so far. Was unaware there was building work on (until mid June according to signs). So lift was covered in insulation materials, walls bare, banging started at 8.40 am but I was up anyway at that time. Room fine, has the essential aircon and fridge. Window completely blacked out with some black material glued to it for some reason. Bed good, 3/4 size in my single room. Was a super noisy guest one night making banging noises near continuously until 2.30am. Small hotel, you have to almost squeeze by reception, and always groups loitering outside the front door for some reason. Would choose another place next time in Osaka, as the other 2 hotels I've tried so far (Tokyo and Kyoto) are so much better for similar money.

Overall good experience. The room was big and good location. Room and hotel was clean but could do with some touchups. Bathroom is very small and extractor fan didn't seem to do much so once you had a shower the whole bathroom had condensation everywhere. Had required facilities provided such as hairdryer and small fridge. The rooms aren't the most sound proof so could hear noise from people in the street late at night and construction work from 7am on some days but this can't be helped. Was able to drop bags off before check-in which is always helpful.

This hotel is conveniently located in dotonbori-namba city center and also the train station as well. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. Also, they store your luggage at no charge after checking out until 11pm. Would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Osaka

This is a great Hotel close to Dotonbori (about 10 min walk) and just a few steps away from a Subway station, there are Family Marts and 7-Elevens close by, which are a great plus, the staff is friendly and although not all of them speak perfect english, they do their best which is certainly appreciated. Breakfast is very good , being traditional Japanese/Korean dishes, I sent my luggage via KuroNeko and some packages from Amazon, they were kind enough to bring everything to my room automatically and were also kind enough to hold my luggage for a few hours on the day I checked out. My only concern is that Front Desk staff is not available 24/7, which makes sense, since the Hotel is small, and that they close the front door at night (you need your room key to get in) so if you forget or lose your room key while out, you will not be able to even get back on to the property (they have a phone number listed outside for emergencies) Based on the above, if you are coming from abroad, make sure you have a way to place phone calls in Japan, I did not have any issues with this but it's certainly something to keep in mind if you plan to stay out late. Will definitely return to this Hotel

It was a very small dated hotel with very few amenities. There’s a restaurant connecting to the lobby where you can smell cigarette smoke. No laundry facilities onsite. I stayed there 5 days and 4 nights, but did not receive any room cleaning. Only the trash was picked up and towels exchanged. The housekeeper was very nice. The owner / manager speaks English well. One of the female front desk staff didn’t seem friendly.

Hotel Kojan was a comfortable and budget-friendly place to stay. The room was spacious, especially by Japanese standards, which we really appreciated. The staff were friendly and generally very helpful. The location was excellent—just a short walk to Dotonbori and surrounded by plenty of bars and places to eat. We highly recommend the onigiri place just a few doors down, and there’s also a nearby ramen spot that serves a delicious fire miso ramen. There was a bit of a damp smell in the room when we first arrived, but it went away after we kept the air conditioning running during our stay, so it wasn’t a major issue. We used the laundry service, which was convenient and a nice amenity. However, it’s worth noting that they seemed to use a hot drying setting, which caused some minor shrinking to our clothes. If you plan to use it, it might be a good idea to specify your preferences in advance. Still, it was great to have clean laundry taken care of. Housekeeping came daily to change towels and take out the trash, except on the second-to-last day. We’re not sure if that was intentional or just an oversight, but it’s something to be aware of. I really liked this hotel. The location is perfect if you want to experience Osakas night scene and still be able to walk home afterwards. My room wasn't the biggest, but the bed was comfy and everything you need is there. The breakfast is also the best hotel breakfast I have ever had!

At first it wasn't bad, when we got there it was difficult to find out if they received our bags, they were sure they didn't know what we were talking about, until I showed them pics of our bags, and then they said they had put them in our room already. That was a nice moment. Two of the staff members were great, the girl and the man with the US accent. Everyone else I won't speak on. The room was lovely except they said they had this eco cleaning thing, which meant we never had our room cleaned except for the day before last. But even then they left the bins unchanged. The pillows had feathers in, I was allergic to them, then one guy I told proceeded to tell me there weren't any, of course I took picture proof that there were. He decided to give us towels to put in pillow cases as replacements... Anyway, the other man found pillows for us eventually but not before housekeeping put more of the allergen pillows on the bed, my face was swollen for 4 days... Also the breakfast was DIABOLICAL! After day one I decided not to eat it and went to Lawsons everyday, which increased our costs. Expedia tried to get in touch with the hotel to gety breakfast refunded, the hotel just ignored them, ha ha, you can't make this stuff up. I will say the room looked nice and was spacious and had charging ports in good places. None of that was enough to save the bad experience overall. There's more but I'd be here all day.

The hotel is in a great area. The restaurant was under renovation, but we didn't have any inconvenience at all regarding that. We got a box-lunch for breakfast to eat in our rooms, which was very convenient because we took the leftovers for a picnic during the day. The only problem was the room (non smoking) smelt like tobacco, somebody definitely smoked there earlier. The staff was super super friendly and kind and helpful and helped us with all our inquiries and problems.

Hotel Kojan's location can't be beat! It's close to Dontonbori and literally three minutes from Shinsaibashi station. For a budget hotel, the rooms are surprisingly big. Rooms are also clean. My family of three stayed in a single room with three large twin beds (felt like a double bed). The staff are all incredibly accomodating and friendly, and they all speak fantastic English, too. I really enjoyed all my conversations with the staff there. Breakfast is a traditional Korean and Japanese dishes. There is also toast with jam, and cereal. If you love staying hydrated like my family and I, there is a water cooler in lobby which can be used 24/7. I stayed at two other hotels whole in Japan, and Hotel Kojan was the only hotel to offer this.

80대 친정엄마와 둘이 간 오사카 여행. 조식이 한식이어서 아침부터 비빔밥 한 그릇 뚝딱 먹고 여행을 할 수 있어서 좋았고, 호텔 위치도 지하철역 가깝고, 걸어서 도톤보리까지 갈 수 있는 거리라 좋았습니다. 룸도 일본 호텔치고 넓은 편이었고, 직원분들도 친절했어요. 특히 사장님이 한국분인 것 같았는데, 조식 먹을 때 반찬도 더 챙겨주시더라고요. 감사했습니다. 그리고 프론트에 정수기가 있어서 물을 따로 살 필요가 없었고, 치약, 칫솔, 팩도 칠요한 만큼 가지고 갈 수 있어서 여행기간 내내 1일 1팩을 하고 잤답니다. 다음 오사카 여행에도 또 이용하고 싶습니다.

I had a pleasant 2-night stay at this hotel. I booked the standard twin room. I had enough space for my luggage, though the closet could have been a bit wider since my big suitcase didn't fit in. The location is great. The AC worked perfectly and the bed was pretty comfortable. The shower curtain is too short and while showering- water can escape outside. Also, the toilet seat was pretty small and I didn't sit there comfortably- even through I am not a big person at all. All in all, it was worth the value
I had a pleasant 2-night stay at this hotel. I booked the standard twin room. I had enough space for my luggage, though the closet could have been a bit wider since my big suitcase didn't fit in. The location is great. The AC worked perfectly and the bed was pretty comfortable. The shower curtain is too short and while showering- water can escape outside. Also, the toilet seat was pretty small and I didn't sit there comfortably- even through I am not a big person at all. All in all, it was worth the value

The location was great, close to dining options, shopping and the trains. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. The only negative thing I would say is that the bathroom is very small.
