My husband & i where there for a relaxing weekend & thats exactly what we got. Everything about this place is amazing. They are extending it atm & i cannot wait to go back & see what the new facilities are. The spa is small but adequate, so relaxing. Views from the hot tub are amazing.

Amazing Weekend, this place does ooze quality, the only mark down was our room location, which was nobodys fault, just unlucky, did prove to be a problem as the room temperature was very warm, but we could not open the window as we were next to bin store, which was quite noisy. We also used the spa facilities, but this was another mark down as in our opinion, they were pretty basic and if you are residents, you should certainly not have to pay for these facilities, which are basic to say the least. If you do use the spa, check out the floatation tank, very relaxing! Shout out to 2 members of Staff, Paul in the The Lookout restaurant and also Prushad, nothing was too much trouble.

We had an amazing night! The location, the setting and the scenery were all super good. The facilities were great, we really enjoyed the spa (extra charge) the room was really nicely decorated but no bath tub (room 115) we were a little disappointed as we thought it would have a bathtub but apparently only 2 rooms have due to the eco friendly efforts. Plenty of free parking, the Lookout pub was very nice and clean with great scenery and the food was excellent and cocktails delightful. It set our stay off very nicely. The downside to the stay was the food in the main restaurant, very bland and tasteless, we both thought the same, they say breakfast is made to order, but tasted like it was pre-warmed and like dinner was tasteless. It was the only downside to a super, super stay.

Great accommodations, comfortable rooms, very large room and bathroom, wonderful breakfast included in stay. Would like to see the hotel offer guests access to the outdoor hot tub and saunas free of charge until 10/11pm. This is standard at a spa hotel. The spa charges 💷 for guests to access amenities. The amenities close quite early as well, which is unfortunate.

Excellent and thoughtfully presented accommodation options. Extra charge for the spa could have been avoided though. And we didn’t realise we had to book before arriving as most spa slots were full.

A lovely hotel in a gorgeous setting. All of the staff were delightful and helpful. Only a few small things took away from the stay, 1. It's a spa hotel - and while it's not obvious anywhere on the website, you must pay £20 per person / per hour to use the spa. For a £200+ per night hotel - this just seems a bit cheap. Every other spa hotel I've been to allows free use of the spa to all residents. Limited use and booking is fine, but charging - no. Not only that, the "Spa" consists of a plastic hot tub that fits 4 - and it's communal. A tiny wooden sauna, that would fit 2. And a small steam room, in a clinical room with some heated loungers. Dissapointing to say the least. 2. Dinner in the main restaurant - this was a miss. Excellent service, but the kitchen is lacking. It took ages to arrive and my £35 sirloin steak, ordered medium was well done, and bizarrely bland without a good sear. It was an insult to the meat the way it was cooked. My wife's fish meal, ordered hake but subbed for cod - was OK and no more. 3. And lastly, the place while pretty new, is starting to age. Hot tap in main toilets broken, shower head in our room broken, causing rubbish flow and unable to wash hair. Loud construction right outside our room, starting at 8:00am - and I mean welding and heavy machinery. Not quite the spa vibe we were looking for. So, a lot of good - and there is investment in improvement - but our stay was sub par, and we won't be back. Galgorm is a superior stay.

Such a wonderful stay here with easy, accessible parking. The staff were friendly and we were able to have plenty gluten free menu options. We also enjoyed the onsite spa (pre booked) which had the best sauna I’ve been in in a long time; WITH ocean views! Highly recommend staying here!

We enjoyed our stay, lovely venue in a great location with amazing views. The spa facility isn’t fantastic and when booking our stay, we did not realise that you need to pay another £20 per per person per hour to use the spa facilities. This seemed very expensive for what it was and I think it’s unfair to only get the facilities for an hour. Plus the spa is only open until 6pm so it really limits our spa experience. I wouldn’t be in a rush back due to this.

We recently stayed here for a wedding, and overall had a good experience. The location is fantastic, beautiful views of the coast, definitely the main selling point for the hotel. The ground floor of the hotel is especially lovely, with a great courtyard that’s perfect for relaxing. Breakfast was very good, with loads of choice and generous portions. Our room was spacious, but a little tired in places. The shower head kept falling off and the water pressure wasn’t great, which took away from the overall comfort. We didn’t get to explore much of the hotel or nearby areas because of the wedding, but for the price, we expected a bit more. We were also surprised to be charged £20 for a late checkout of just 60 minutes, especially as the hotel didn’t seem particularly busy. Other places we’ve stayed recently have been more flexible with this, so it felt a bit excessive. That said, we’d still recommend the hotel, the location and atmosphere are great - but a few small improvements would go a long way.

Upon arrival our room was quite dirty however, the front desk staff addressed it immediately and sent in cleaners to tidy up. The location is stunning. The breakfast was great as was our dinner at the Lookout. The mattresses were really hard though, like sleeping on concrete. Only spent one night.

Serene and calm with great views from the bar. The room was spacious and neutral, a few signs of wear and tear but more than sufficient for a one night stay. Every member of the hotel team was active and attentive, nobody was idle. My room opened directly on to the courtyard, which was novel. A delightful surprise were the hotel cats who appeared outside my door before breakfast.

Had another amazing stay. Staff hotel facilities all 2nd to none. Rooms are spacious & spotlessly clean. My only grip is the pillows. They are way to hard for me. I personally prefer a soft pillow but would not let this deter me from returning.

I left the Salthouse at 8:30 am to attend an all day meeting. I returned after 5pm to find that my room had not been serviced - towels nor changed, bathroom not cleaned, bed not maid, bin not emptied and tea/coffee facilities not replenished. I went to reception and spoke to TAYLOR - who did NOT apologise but told me to go to the car to wait whilst my room was cleaned. I was not offered any refreshments ( complimentary or not). I waited until a member of the housekeeping team came to the bar to tell me that my room was now cleaned. Again, there was no apology. The next morning on checkout, my bill fully paid, I asked to see the manager about a complaint.? I was told that the most senior manager on site was the restaurant manager. When he arrived, Intokd hill about the non cleaning/servicing of my room the day before. He said he would pass my complaint on. I specifically asked for an email response to explain why my room was not cleaned/ serviced in Saturday 8 February . I have not received any communication - email or otherwise from the Salthouse Hotel - to apologise for the shoddy service. I do not believe that they care and the experience as a solo female traveller left me feeling unvalued and substandard as a guest.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting, overlooking the sea Our room in one of the seaview suites, a short walk from hotel entrance, was very well appointed, with a seperate seating area with comfortable sofa, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. It also had an uninterrupted view of the beautiful coastline..well worth the extra money to enhance your stay!

Excellent dining experience and food, really good staff and service. Excellent decor in room. Ventilation in room not to our liking though. Very warm and only way to cool the temperature (after turning radiator down) or get more air was to open window as no air conditioning at least in our room. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

This is a beautiful, modern hotel in a stunning location with great views. The decor and furnishings are lovely and very stylish. Our room was very big and very well decorated. The breakfast was excellent and served in a different way. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Serene and calm with great views from the bar. The room was spacious and neutral, a few signs of wear and tear but more than sufficient for a one night stay. Every member of the hotel team was active and attentive, nobody was idle. My room opened directly on to the courtyard, which was novel. A delightful surprise were the hotel cats who appeared outside my door before breakfast.

The bedroom had limited natural light but despite this the decor was mainly dark green This made for a drab feeling. The same colours in the dining room and bar work because of the excellent natural light. The bedroom was much too warm and it found it impossible to adjust the thermostat. And the window lock was jammed so i couldnt open it.On the positive side the staff were pleasant and efficient and the bar and dining rooms are perfect. We only ate breakfast and the food was first class. Looking forward for a chance to enjoy lunch/dinner.

Very disappointingly my room backed on to a building site. I had constant drilling from 0900-1700 every day, and workmen arriving at 0745 outside my bedroom window, so couldn't risk opening my curtains

As a late check in i watched the one person at reception deal with a telephone reservation for almost 20 minutes.....when i was finally checked in...the room temperature was 24c with no A/C. They did provide a fan but it took ages for the room to cool down. At very least the windows should have been opened.

This hotel is everything and more, from the check-in to checkout was great, the rooms are spacious and spotless. The restaurant and bar is amazing. The choice of food and drinks on offer fantastic. The breakfast included in the price is unbelievable, so good we are going back next year.

It was our class get together and we wanted 30 plus rooms. The booking process was clear and easy. This is beautiful, aesthetic yet simplistically designed clean property, eco friendly ( have their own wind mill!!) with wonderful staff and provision of eco-homes as well as rooms. Wonderfully perched atop a hillock with fabulous views. Rooms are ample sized with good sized toilet and wonderful local soaps and shampoo. Both restaurants on site are good, great for a relaxed dinner or a fast food with pizza, pasta and drinks. Breakfast is really good with excellent tasty options. Chef, serving staff are friendly and courteous, and simply excellent. Easy to drive to causeway, rope bridge and walk to Ballycastle beach with its unique estuary ( walking back has steep gradient as the hotel is on the top of the hill). Excellent for wedding, class or family get together or a family break ( can use eco homes). 45 minutes to Belfast International airport ( City airport is nearly hour and a half). Try coastal drive at least once. Thank you The Salthouse team, keep the standards up.

If I was to criticise this hotel it would be that the rooms and the main restaurant do not have air conditioning - we were however provided with a fan. The spa, staff and treatments were excellent- despite renovations in place. Would highly recommend this hotel and have already booked to come back.

The restaurant staff were absolutely amazing, they were so efficient and friendly and made us feel welcome. The views were spectacular and the atmosphere was relaxed. The breakfast was perfect and was beautifully presented. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The accommodations were very nice — a beautiful hotel with plenty of options. Both dining areas were lovely: one casual and the other more formal, offering nice variety. The hotel staff were pleasant and accommodating throughout my stay. However, the waitress in the formal dining room was quite impersonal and unfriendly, which was disappointing. The hotel offers great views of the ocean and is in a decent location, not too far from the causeway. Overall, a very nice stay with just a small area for improvement in service.

The rooms were good, clean and comfortable. We arrived with a very sick son, the staff treated us like family and gave us all the help we could ask for. Ballycastle is a lovely town and well worth visiting along with the entire Causeway Coastal Route.

I left the Salthouse at 8:30 am to attend an all day meeting. I returned after 5pm to find that my room had not been serviced - towels nor changed, bathroom not cleaned, bed not maid, bin not emptied and tea/coffee facilities not replenished. I went to reception and spoke to TAYLOR - who did NOT apologise but told me to go to the car to wait whilst my room was cleaned. I was not offered any refreshments ( complimentary or not). I waited until a member of the housekeeping team came to the bar to tell me that my room was now cleaned. Again, there was no apology. The next morning on checkout, my bill fully paid, I asked to see the manager about a complaint.? I was told that the most senior manager on site was the restaurant manager. When he arrived, Intokd hill about the non cleaning/servicing of my room the day before. He said he would pass my complaint on. I specifically asked for an email response to explain why my room was not cleaned/ serviced in Saturday 8 February . I have not received any communication - email or otherwise from the Salthouse Hotel - to apologise for the shoddy service. I do not believe that they care and the experience as a solo female traveller left me feeling unvalued and substandard as a guest.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting, overlooking the sea Our room in one of the seaview suites, a short walk from hotel entrance, was very well appointed, with a seperate seating area with comfortable sofa, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. It also had an uninterrupted view of the beautiful coastline..well worth the extra money to enhance your stay!

This was such a surprise find on our trip to Ireland. Perched on top of a hill overlooking the rolling hills of Ballycastle and the ocean. You could not find a better view for dinner. Our room was nice and quiet, meals were great and easy to reserve. Staff was exceptional.

When booking, we had no idea the property was so new. It was in a beautiful location, scenic, plenty of free parking. Breakfast was excellent, and we ate at the pizza place instead of in the formal restaurant only because we were not very hungry.

Short 2 day break in Ballycastle and wanted a different quality hotel. The Salthouse is excellent and is well located within walking distance of the town. The views are amazing and the whole experience exceeded expectations. Well done - will be back.

Was blown away straight away by the amazing views across to Rathlin and Torr Head. Salthouse layout and style is unique and first class. Staff were just wonderful and service was second to none. Food was outstanding - amazing dinner and breakfast delicious with particular emphasis on presentation and quality. A truly memorable stay - will definitely be back!

My family loved staying at The Salthouse! It is a beautiful hotel overlooking the ocean with nice sized rooms and bathrooms. We tried both restaurants and they were both wonderful. The towels in the bathroom were the best towels I’ve used ever! I’m going to look them up and buy them. The staff was so nice and welcoming. We literally had a perfect stay here. The location was also perfect for us as it’s right next to all of the scenic locations on the causeway coast, it took just a few minutes to get to each one: carrick-a-rede, giants causeway, dunluce castle, dark hedges, and more. Highly highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Salthouse. Our room was very spacious with a lovely big bathroom and very comfortable bed. We had a meal in the main restaurant which was very good value and delicious. What also impressed us was breakfast served to your table meaning it was freshly cooked and hot. We will definitely return and recommend it to our friends.

We had an amazing night! The location, the setting and the scenery were all super good. The facilities were great, we really enjoyed the spa (extra charge) the room was really nicely decorated but no bath tub (room 115) we were a little disappointed as we thought it would have a bathtub but apparently only 2 rooms have due to the eco friendly efforts. Plenty of free parking, the Lookout pub was very nice and clean with great scenery and the food was excellent and cocktails delightful. It set our stay off very nicely. The downside to the stay was the food in the main restaurant, very bland and tasteless, we both thought the same, they say breakfast is made to order, but tasted like it was pre-warmed and like dinner was tasteless. It was the only downside to a super, super stay.

A lovely hotel in a gorgeous setting. All of the staff were delightful and helpful. Only a few small things took away from the stay, 1. It's a spa hotel - and while it's not obvious anywhere on the website, you must pay £20 per person / per hour to use the spa. For a £200+ per night hotel - this just seems a bit cheap. Every other spa hotel I've been to allows free use of the spa to all residents. Limited use and booking is fine, but charging - no. Not only that, the "Spa" consists of a plastic hot tub that fits 4 - and it's communal. A tiny wooden sauna, that would fit 2. And a small steam room, in a clinical room with some heated loungers. Dissapointing to say the least. 2. Dinner in the main restaurant - this was a miss. Excellent service, but the kitchen is lacking. It took ages to arrive and my £35 sirloin steak, ordered medium was well done, and bizarrely bland without a good sear. It was an insult to the meat the way it was cooked. My wife's fish meal, ordered hake but subbed for cod - was OK and no more. 3. And lastly, the place while pretty new, is starting to age. Hot tap in main toilets broken, shower head in our room broken, causing rubbish flow and unable to wash hair. Loud construction right outside our room, starting at 8:00am - and I mean welding and heavy machinery. Not quite the spa vibe we were looking for. So, a lot of good - and there is investment in improvement - but our stay was sub par, and we won't be back. Galgorm is a superior stay.

Hot tap in main toilets broken, shower head in our room broken, causing rubbish flow and unable to wash hair. Loud construction right outside our room, starting at 8:00am - and I mean welding and heavy machinery. Not quite the spa vibe we were looking for. So, a lot of good - and there is investment in improvement - but our stay was sub par, and we won't be back. Galgorm is a superior stay.

We had a one night stay for my wife's birthday. Greeted by staff who were absolutely fabulous.Room and corridors spotless and had a very pleasant odour throughout. Room had all facilities robes, flip flops, tea / coffee. Could not ask for more. We didn't take the spa package this time around but seen the facilities The outdoor infinity pool is stunning. Breakfast was another hi point - wow. Matched the hotels high standards. A little bit dear but well worth it. Well done Salt house we will be back !!

The Salthouse is in a beautiful setting overlooking the sea, our room with two queen beds was spacious and very comfortable the large bathroom immaculate. Food and service for dinner and breakfast excellent.
