We had a great stay at the cottage by the sea su. We were greeted by the brother in law who was very friendly. Had a nice conversation about India since by spouse was very versed in the area and culture. The cottage was very homey and warm. We were greeted with a small fire in the fireplace and a beautiful view out the windows. We had 2 dogs and the place was great for them to lay by the fire and chew on bones while we drank tea and relaxed. The kitchen had coffee and tea with condiments as well as cooking supplies if we choose to cook. We will definitely stay here again and have already told a few friends of this cute little getaway.

My best friend and our two small dogs wanted to get away for a couple days and we were looking at the San Juan Islands, but when the Cottage by the Sea cottage came up in my search it was perfect! Not only was it closer (to Seattle) but the price was great, and the view was just as fabulous as the islands… just on the other side. Our stay in the cottage was idyllic and the hosts were so helpful and personable, truly just like family we’d somehow known prior to meeting them for the first time. Shyni and her daughter think of every detail to make visitor stays as homey and comfortable as possible. Everything was exceptionally clean and well stocked. The yard area is shared by all rental units, which is fun but if you prefer privacy the hosts will graciously respect that as well. The only negative is that our time there was too short, but we will be back for a longer time next time!

Cute comfortable cottage with beautiful view. We were so busy hiking and enjoying the surrounding towns we didn’t have enough time to truly take advantage of the wonderful outdoor space of the cottage. You could sit outside and take in the sea view all day!

My husband and I stayed one night in the cottage unit. The sunset view over the harbor was AMAZING. We found the unit to be well stocked with kitchen supplies and a warm/comfortable sleeping environment. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed staying at the Cottage by the Sea. The kitchen is very well supplied and the cottage was cozy and well insulated. Owner and family are pleasant and quiet. We especially enjoyed extensive day hiking at the nearby Little Cranberry Lake trail system; check it out!

We wanted to spend a few days on the island with a beautiful sunset view overlooking the water, and this property was perfect. The cabin wasn’t fancy, but large enough for the two of us and our Golden Retriever. Everything was in perfect condition. The bed and bedding was comfortable, and we had everything we needed. We shared the yard with a larger home on the property, but we still had enough privacy. I wouldn’t hesitate to reserve it again,

We had a memorable experience at the cottage by the sea. The cottage was cute and cozy. The fireplace is so nice and keeps the whole home warm. The views were what blew me away with this place. We spent the majority of our time on the back deck whale watching. It was just beautiful and we didn’t want to leave. The host and her daughter were unbelievably friendly and welcoming. They made us delicious dinner and the daughter even gifted me an orca bag because I expressed how much I love orcas. It was the sweetest gift and they are such kind people. Don’t hesitate to stay here because you will fully enjoy it! The bed was even cozy and everything was super clean. Thank you and we will be back!!!

This is a lovely little cottage close to Deception. It was perfect for us a we are traveling the Pacific Northwest. All clean with the necessities. We didn't hear a lot of traffic noise (a complaint of some, I guess).It was easy to make warm on a drizzly evening in May. We really liked it and the owner was friendly and respectful! Would definitely book again!

House is neat and antiquated, cozy but the bathroom needs to be updated especially the fixtures and the shower faucet was in reverse! Was waiting for the water to get hot all the while it was pointed at the wrong direction!! Hot is spitting cold and vice versa.The shower very small and narrow, it can only accommodate a tiny person who is u fee 5 feet or else your head is going to hit the ceiling!! Kitchen wasn’t stocked with seasonings, only coffee and tea!! Fridge doesn’t even have water!! It was empty except for coffee creamers.The host was always busy each time you want to get in touch with them.. either she was out or driving around! When y left a message, she would respond like 4-5 hrs later!

This was just right for a weekend getaway for one person to relax and decompress. Very comfortable stay, very quiet, some traffic sounds but hardly noticeable. The location is excellent both for getting around to beaches and stores/restaurants around Anacortes and the surrounding areas. The hosts are lovely people. I will definitely keep this little gem in mind next time I am in the area!

If what you are looking for is a quaint little cottage on the ocean, this property will certainly fill the bill. Totally enjoyed our stay.We were in Anacortes for a long weekend to visit friends and attend a party in Seattle. The weather was beautiful and in between activities it was great to absorb the garden and wonderful views. Yes, there is a little road noise, but it was easy to ignore it, and inside the cottage, we were not annoyed by it at all.Thank you Shyni and Michael for making our stay delightful.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place had everything we needed and the view from the shared garden/yard area was phenomenal. The only surprise was how close the cottage was to the main house (just a sidewalk between the two buildings) but that was not a huge problem. The location is ideal- close to Deception Pass and Washington Park, as well as downtown Anacortes.

This was just right for a weekend getaway for one person to relax and decompress. Very comfortable stay, very quiet, some traffic sounds but hardly noticeable. The location is excellent both for getting around to beaches and stores/restaurants around Anacortes and the surrounding areas. The hosts are lovely people. I will definitely keep this little gem in mind next time I am in the area!

Beautiful location. Amazing views. The hosts were wonderful, responsive and welcoming. Cottage not the decor shown, would be great to update the photos. Close to Anacortes for meals, highly recommended “Adrift” on Commercial Ave. Also close to Whale Watching tours. Saw Orcas 💕

Gorgeous views from the patio overlooking the cliffs and sound. Fully stocked kitchen. Pull out couch very comfortable. Michael and shiney great hosts. Location is perfect 10 mins from ferry to all San Juan islands. Will be staying here again

This is a lovely little cottage close to Deception. It was perfect for us a we are traveling the Pacific Northwest. All clean with the necessities. We didn't hear a lot of traffic noise (a complaint of some, I guess).It was easy to make warm on a drizzly evening in May. We really liked it and the owner was friendly and respectful! Would definitely book again!

We had a great stay at the cottage by the sea su. We were greeted by the brother in law who was very friendly. Had a nice conversation about India since by spouse was very versed in the area and culture. The cottage was very homey and warm. We were greeted with a small fire in the fireplace and a beautiful view out the windows. We had 2 dogs and the place was great for them to lay by the fire and chew on bones while we drank tea and relaxed. The kitchen had coffee and tea with condiments as well as cooking supplies if we choose to cook. We will definitely stay here again and have already told a few friends of this cute little getaway.

My wife and I stayed at this cute little cottage during a motorcycle ride through the islands. The place was exactly as described in the VRBO page. The host was responsive. We asked for dinner (optional) and it was abundant and delicious! We will totally stay in this place again next time we ride by.

We had a memorable experience at the cottage by the sea. The cottage was cute and cozy. The fireplace is so nice and keeps the whole home warm. The views were what blew me away with this place. We spent the majority of our time on the back deck whale watching. It was just beautiful and we didn’t want to leave. The host and her daughter were unbelievably friendly and welcoming. They made us delicious dinner and the daughter even gifted me an orca bag because I expressed how much I love orcas. It was the sweetest gift and they are such kind people. Don’t hesitate to stay here because you will fully enjoy it! The bed was even cozy and everything was super clean. Thank you and we will be back!!!

My husband and I stayed one night in the cottage unit. The sunset view over the harbor was AMAZING. We found the unit to be well stocked with kitchen supplies and a warm/comfortable sleeping environment. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed staying at the Cottage by the Sea. The kitchen is very well supplied and the cottage was cozy and well insulated. Owner and family are pleasant and quiet. We especially enjoyed extensive day hiking at the nearby Little Cranberry Lake trail system; check it out!

We stayed here for a quick getaway and loved every minute of it. The view of the islands and the sound of crashing waves welcomed us to our temporary home, joined quickly by a handful of birds and their songs. Being situated between Rosario beach and Anacortes proved to be a perfect chance to catch a beautiful sunset after a quick jaunt into town for food. In the morning, we drank coffee overlooking the cliffs and had a lovely conversation with the hosts, Michael and Shyni. Absolutely wonderful folks, will be trying out their restaurant The Curry Leaf next time we’re in town! They run an organic farm across the street as well! On our way back to South Seattle, we stopped at Mt Erie’s summit with Penguin coffee and a darn good bagel in hand. The Market served as a great place to snag some picnic ingredients as well, so we made our way to Rosario beach for a hike.We will be returning as soon as we can! Can’t wait to kayak around the sound and explore even more trails. Also, if you like listening to birds, the Merlin app is a great way to know/keep track of which species is talking! We found over 15 species on our trip! Thanks again for having us!

We only got to stay here for one night but it was magical. The host greeted us as soon as we parked and made sure we could get in and was very welcoming. The cottage was adorable and very comfortable bed. The view is the best you could ask for. Breathtaking. The whole place was such good energy and while we didn’t get to order the Indian food, we could smell it and it was divine.We can’t wait to return and spend more time and order some of the food!!!!

Great little spot that served as a good home base for the islands. We visited all of Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands on one day and San Juan Islands the next day. The view from the house is magnificent. The beds are comfy with wonderful sheets. This is a small place but we loved it. Perfect value for the price and location. The owners are lovely as well.
