We arrived on New Year's Eve so the lobby and front desk area was a mad house, took us 40 minutes to get to our rooms as the party gore's wouldn't let us board the lift. Otherwise our stay was pleasant

Very nice hotel. Great location with rooms overlooking the national park. But! The pool was out of order the whole week. No compensation offered. They will take your money if they can: - We arrived early. The room was ready, but they wanted 50 USD for an early check in. We declined, but I later realized that due to my OTA status this should be complimentary, but they obviously didn't want to honor that. - Overpriced food and drinks in the restaurant. - On the morning of departure we initially had some problems getting an Uber at first. I asked the concierge to call a taxi, which he declined! Instead we could use the "hotel taxi" to the airport for nothing less than 65 USD. Or take our chances with Uber or whatever. Which we did and ended up paying 8 USD (1020 KES) for an Uber (which included a nice tip). Shame on you Emara Ole-Sereni for trying to take advantage of people in a stressed situation!

This hotel is pure luxury! Not only is it overlooking Nairobi National Park but the rooftop pool is beautiful. The beds are comfy and soft. The breakfast and dinner buffet are so delicious! We ordered room service for one of my nights and the food was so savory. I highly recommend this hotel

I loved the rooftop and being able to look out at Nairobi National Park to watch the sunset. I appreciated the security as it made me feel very safe that it was required for vehicles to be checked upon arrival and bags sent through metal detector before entering. My room was very clean and comfortable. A special thanks to David! He provided me with tons of recommendations for things to do and bars/lounges. He even recommended an amazing drink while I had lunch at the restaurant on the third floor. He was a pleasure and though this was a solo trip whenever I saw him I didn’t feel alone. Thank you David and Alecko! If ever in Nairobi again, I will definitely stay at Emara Ole Sereni! I also will be recommending to all my family/friends!

Prives Like a international 5 Star Hotel but absolutely not living up to it. There is hardly a way to get out of the hotel. Half rotten pigeon was on the roof just outside of the swimming pool railing formte whole duration of my stay, Prices are just ridiculous high for Kenia. The manager should be fired. On the plus side the staff was very friendly. Not to helpful if you wanted something out of the box. Like leavin the hotel on your own. To dangerous or maybe they don’t want you to go out so you have to spent your money in the hotel. Location in fact was not particularly safe. Fist person I met outside the hotel advised me to not show my mobile. Only good for Business people who don’t care about paying ridiculous high prices. Not recommended for tourists.

Nice hotel which is very secure with nice rooms. The food is good but really limited choice and quite expensive for what you actually get. Staff are nice and friendly but not the quickest! Rooms have nice views with comfy bed and bathroom. WiFi fast. All in, it’s a nice hotel but is it worth the extra cost? I’m not sure!!

I was not able to use the rooftop bar area either day of my stay because of special events, which I think are quite frequent these days. Very disappointing because the rooftop bar was a big part of my reason for choosing to stay at Emara.

Absolutely amazing place. The Rooms are superb especially the Apartment rooms. The rooftop bar and pool is stunning. Great view of the Nairobi National park from the rooftop bar and restaurant and some room.

The photographs of the deluxe room advertised on Hotels.com, with both front and side-facing windows, turned out to be very misleading, as I was told by a porter that only very few such rooms exist and the photo is used to lure guests. The alternative room with a terrace was clean, but the building itself felt neglected, with visible water damage and a dusty, dated & faded appearance. Road noise made it hard to relax, undermining the hotel’s claim of offering serenity. Reception was unresponsive to calls, forcing me to go down in person just to be heard, which felt more like an inconvenience than a service. Breakfast staff seemed disengaged, forgetting basic items like cutlery and coffee orders, which I eventually had to fetch myself from the bar. Very luxurious property. Well kept, spotless. Many nice restaurants, including delicious pizza. Good gym. The staff is what makes this hotel so excellent, they can’t do enough for you. In particular, Naomi at the front desk was amazing.

Extremely Disappointing – We Left Mid-Stay Despite No Refund I booked a four-night business trip at Emara Ole-Sereni, and it turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The reception service was chaotic – long lines, disorganized check-in, and rude, unhelpful staff who made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than guests. The room cleanliness was unacceptable. It was clear that proper housekeeping standards are not being followed – dusty surfaces, stained linens, and an overall lack of hygiene that made it uncomfortable to stay. Despite having no refund option, we made the decision to cut our stay short and move to another hotel. That’s how bad it was. I would strongly advise business travelers and tourists alike to look elsewhere. This hotel does not live up to its reputation or pricing.

This is undoubtedly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. First night on checkin staff lied to me and charged me an extra $500 dollars. Everyone I know had food poisoning, they lepft a wet patch on marble floor so I twisted ankle, knee and hurt back. They overcharge for everything such as tours and lifts to airport. If you complain they miraculously can't speak English properly or understand you. Don't waste your money go somewhere else like JW Marriott or Kempinski

Stayed during day only until new years evening flight Bach to the UK. We chose the hotel for its proximity to the park and so we could catch some rest before our flight. Unfortunately due to New Year’s Eve celebrations starting before 6pm with loud music and the air conditioning not getting cold enough we could not sleep. The minimum setting was fixed at 19 deg, and no cold air could’ve been obtained. Overall the food and service and hotel ambience was perfect otherwise.

Very beautiful hotel! The room was perfect, over looking the park. It had everything we needed. Staff were all pleasant and very friendly. Will definitely be staying at again!

Nice hotel which is very secure with nice rooms. The food is good but really limited choice and quite expensive for what you actually get. Staff are nice and friendly but not the quickest! Rooms have nice views with comfy bed and bathroom. WiFi fast. All in, it’s a nice hotel but is it worth the extra cost? I’m not sure!!

Absolutely amazing place. The Rooms are superb especially the Apartment rooms. The rooftop bar and pool is stunning. Great view of the Nairobi National park from the rooftop bar and restaurant and some room.

Very nice hotel. Great location with rooms overlooking the national park. But! The pool was out of order the whole week. No compensation offered. They will take your money if they can: - We arrived early. The room was ready, but they wanted 50 USD for an early check in. We declined, but I later realized that due to my OTA status this should be complimentary, but they obviously didn't want to honor that. - Overpriced food and drinks in the restaurant. - On the morning of departure we initially had some problems getting an Uber at first. I asked the concierge to call a taxi, which he declined! Instead we could use the "hotel taxi" to the airport for nothing less than 65 USD. Or take our chances with Uber or whatever. Which we did and ended up paying 8 USD (1020 KES) for an Uber (which included a nice tip). Shame on you Emara Ole-Sereni for trying to take advantage of people in a stressed situation!

Despite its promising online presentation, my stay at Emara Ole-sereni was disappointing. The photographs of the deluxe room advertised on Hotels.com, with both front and side-facing windows, turned out to be very misleading, as I was told by a porter that only very few such rooms exist and the photo is used to lure guests. The alternative room with a terrace was clean, but the building itself felt neglected, with visible water damage and a dusty, dated & faded appearance. Road noise made it hard to relax, undermining the hotel’s claim of offering serenity. Reception was unresponsive to calls, forcing me to go down in person just to be heard, which felt more like an inconvenience than a service. Breakfast staff seemed disengaged, forgetting basic items like cutlery and coffee orders, which I eventually had to fetch myself from the bar. On a positive note, the porter and cleaning staff were exceptional, offering the only bright spot in an otherwise underwhelming experience.

Very luxurious property. Well kept, spotless. Many nice restaurants, including delicious pizza. Good gym. The staff is what makes this hotel so excellent, they can’t do enough for you. In particular, Naomi at the front desk was amazing.

Extremely Disappointing – We Left Mid-Stay Despite No Refund I booked a four-night business trip at Emara Ole-Sereni, and it turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. If I had to describe the Emara, I would say it is security wrapped in comfort. They are very accomodating to my desire to check in early and staying past my check out time because of my international flights. I would recommend speaking directly with the staff and not relying on the information from the TV. They have more information about the services of the hotel. They were also able to get me a doctor when I got sick. He came to my room. When things didnt go as I expected, they focused on resolving things quickly and immediatelly. I will definitely stay there again.

Upon attempting to check in we had to wait 20 minutes for our reservation to be "validated." And then double-check their work because the staff only "validated" 2 of the 3 nights I reserved. After the second night our key cards stopped working and I had to negotiate with the staff to allow us to stay a third night.

I arranged an airport pick-up with the hotel and nobody came to pick me up. I ended up taking the airport taxi. I pointed it out to the receptionist during check-in and the person did not seem to care. No apology. That was a really bad first impression. The room was average and definitely not a 5 star hotel. There were three elevators but it took forever to get on one, either they were just really slow or had electrical and mechanical problems.

I had not intended to book the new wing of the Ole-Sereni hotel but it was fine, just slightly disappointing. It's typically business/conference oriented. The restaurant is on an upper level restoring the dining view across Nairobi National Park which was lost in the original hotel. Convenient for the airport and well-appointed if a little boring.

This hotel is pure luxury! Not only is it overlooking Nairobi National Park but the rooftop pool is beautiful. The beds are comfy and soft. The breakfast and dinner buffet are so delicious! We ordered room service for one of my nights and the food was so savory. I highly recommend this hotel

Make up mirror handle was not holding up. No convenient way to dry your hair. Hair dryer cord too short and plug near the floor. Rest everything was excellent including staff, breakfast buffet and roof top restaurant.

This is undoubtedly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. First night on checkin staff lied to me and charged me an extra $500 dollars. Everyone I know had food poisoning, they lepft a wet patch on marble floor so I twisted ankle, knee and hurt back. They overcharge for everything such as tours and lifts to airport. If you complain they miraculously can't speak English properly or understand you. Don't waste your money go somewhere else like JW Marriott or Kempinski

The swimming pool is very small. Rooms are very noisy but the ones on the National Park are a bit better. During 2 days, the rooftop and pool were privatised for a noisy party night and day. This was awful! On the bright side, the restaurant is good. Room-service is very limited and not the best dishes on the menu so don't use it and go to the restaurant, you will be surprised. The gift shop is a fraud. Some items have tagged prices, for the others you need to ask the shop attendant. I went first with my colleagues and my colleague bought bracelets at a certain price. I went back the next day alone and the price had tripled!!!

This is a fantastic hotel! It's on the south side of Nairobi, reasonably close to the airport. But, it's right up against the National Park; there are restaurants and bars on the third and tenth floor that overlook the park, and you can eat or drink and watch the occasional zebra and rhino and giraffe wander by! Bring binoculars! But even beyond that, the food is excellent, the rooms are clean and large, and the staff is overwhelmingly friendly, from the bell hop to the restaurant staff to the front desk. Would definitely stay here if I'm in Nairobi again.
