OYO Hotel Ocala, FL I-75

There were smashed beer cans in the grass area out front. In website this is labeled “hotel” and pet friendly hand written signs upon arrival notes $25 per pet fee which was not disclosed on website front desk worker grabs my phone and starts swiping saying yes it is and clearly not finding it. I requested to cancel he said yes but no refund. We drove around for 20 minutes trying to find this “hotel” OYO Hotel is actually Economy Inn a motel that had people with doors propped open sitting out drinking. Did not look safe. They had a printed “tarp-like” orange sign somehow hung against the front of the desk that said OYO picture on web is not of this facility. Avoid at all costs!!

Dirty no ice machine was broken. Curtains in room broken. Bathroom still had painters tape along bottom of tub shower barely work. Property poorly maintained

The sign outside the hotel was still showing its previous name, thus we passed it 3 times before turning in to ask directions. The OYO name was INSIDE, which is not helpful to finding it. Check-in was friendly, but he had difficulty finding our reservation, not sure why, but it seemed half the hotel was under renovation, so perhaps bad internet? We had difficulty getting signal from the room too. Room was spotless but sparse, it only had one tiny trash bin, and small towels, causing my husband to forego his shower so I could use both. I imagine conditions will improve as the changeover finishes, so overall I found it an ok place to stay for the price.

Having stayed at other OYO hotels I assumed that this franchise was as superior. Noth the answers I or presentation that I was expecting. Extremely deceptive, once they have possession of your credit card information, you are stuck for the duration. Initially there was no signage affront the building; therefore, it was extremely hard to find. The location was at I-75, but within the "hood" for better sakes. Coincidentally, I had my firearm with me. Upon arrival, the receptionist/desk clerk was kind and assigned me a room that was a bit of a walk with a bad back. The room was smelly, and the wall air conditioning unit was hard to read and to operate. The bathroom had a tub with no safety features, there was no place to hang my clothes, and the towels were stacked on a couch. Needless to say, no television the first night. The ice machine was at the other end of the building, and I was greeted frequently with the presence of "Hood rats" affront my door and in the parking lot. The ice machine DID NOT work on Saturday evening. I questioned the owner who was watering a garden at the endo of the hallway and his response was "You will have to wait". Upon reporting the ice issue at the front desk, I was told that there was no ice on the premise. As the manager was residing at this location, I kindly asked for ice from his refrigerator. His response was that he "didn't have any ice". I forewarned the manager to "look out for my review". Do NOT stay at this DUMP.

My unit was okay until we went out on 7/12 to do some site seeing, we left our room air on 68 when we came back it was like a sauna. I complained and they said I should have left it on 60, which it didn't even go that low, then I thought I was getting a unit with a pool, which was not at this location. I liked the price & I did reserve 2 rooms for my stay. When checking in I had to put everything on a Credit Card, which I wasn't planing on doing, but I did. I had just opened a new credit card so all I had on me was a check to use for this, but they would not take it, Then they didn't take any checks, which was very inconvenient for me, but I did have another credit card that I was able to use. I also asked for extra towels on 7/11 & extra cups. Didn't get the towels until late 7/12 & then our trash was not taken out until 7/13. So that was not good for us. Our room was okay & I liked the price, but when I checkout they went to make sure the rooms were not damaged in any way before they gave me back my deposit. They were very rude as far as I am concerned. Telling me I should have put the room at 60 & not taking out my trash. I was only there to sleep, but they didn't even want to take anything off of my bill. I just thought rude. Like I said we were just there to sleep which we did. I paid for both rooms as we were there to celebrate my sister's 90 birthday. It was a wonderful trip for us to do that so, that will never be taken away from us.

I like it swimming pool, domt like it parkings

Staff was very nice and wanted to make sure our stay was a good experience. Our room was very clean. I liked the fact they accept pets and no carpet in the room. Plenty of food establishments next door and across the street. The motley is bigger than the pictures show. There are rooms in the back too. Owner stayed up all night during Hurricane Adelia to welcome anyone who needed him. Family owned motel I'm assuming.

Clean the rooms better. Outside parking lot looks like a homeless community of trash .

Dirty with a lot of bad smell in the room, the bathroom was disgusting and the towels were all stained and unclean, at least mine seemed like they weren't washed, everything was very disgusting

Room was supposed to be non smoking and was reeking of cigarettes. The floor was dirty and there were roaches in the room that we had to kill before going to sleep with one extremely flat pillow.

There were 2 lizards and several roaches within the room. There was no hot water and parking area was kinda sketchy. Drive by the place several times looking for the sign that said Oyo Hotel but there was a different name on billboard. When explaining that to the lady at front desk, she said it said Oyo on the front counter banner. I told her I couldn’t see that from the road. Thank god for GPS.

Somewhat safe. The regular long-term hotel stayer were present here, too. Nasty bedsheets, stained , awful pillow smell. Old, run-down furniture, missing chairs, dirty walls, dirty bathtub. Dirty stained towels. And we paid $89 with taxes through Hotels.com. The dump might be worth $30/night, if you are out of options for example. But, hey, there are plenty of motels around. The hotel still bears an old name

Some rooms recently remodeled, however the room I was assigned has crawling insects & bed bugs. Tried to sleep for 2 hours & couldn’t do so I left.

The room wasn't clean. There was a dead bug in the tub, the room was extremely hot and took an hour to cool off, bathroom was disgusting. Whoever "cleaned" the room needs to be fired. Will never stay there again I rather pay $100 a night for a corporate hotel then at a roach motel.

This place is horrible. Dirty had roaches and the ac barely worked. TV was horrible, curtains falling down. Asked for a $50.00 cash deposit, which I did get back. WOULD NOT STAY HERE! STAY AWAY!

I ASKED FOR A KING SIZE BED. I WAS PUT IN A DOUBLE BED ROOM.... WHERE BOTH BEDS HAD SOILED LINEN WITH BLOOD STAINS, HAIR AN DIRT IN THE BED..... WENT BACK TO THE OFFICE.... THEY THEN PUT ME IN MY RIGHT..... TOOK A SHOWER THE DRAIN IS STOPPED UP, OPENED THE MICOWAVE THERE WAS A PLATE OF FOOD LEFT IN IT...... I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.... THE HEALTH BROAD NEEDS TO SHUT IT DOWN UNTIL THEY GET ALL NEW appliances furniture linen and bed sheets

We found bed bugs and they wouldn’t refund. Shout out to Expedia for at least giving me a little credit. Don’t stay here :/

There were dirty stained towels upon arrival as well as dead cockroach’s on the floor in the bedroom. I would not stay there again if I was offered money to stay

I liked the staff. Really. Not sure if my review can be objective: it's the first time I've stayed at the motel. The smell of cigarettes (I don't smoke): it was all around the room. All of my clothes absorbed it, unfortunately. But it's a quiet place with quiet guests. No noise, no disturbance. The only thing I didn't like was the smell.

I am not sure how this is rated as high as it is. Very low quality motel. Stained furniture, towels, and bedding. Very loud road noise. Staff is friendly and it was cheap. So, you get what you pay for.

The air conditioner was not working properly, it was obvious that it was very old. The worker who came to look at it said it was new. It was cooler outside. The TV remote froze. Couldn’t get the guide to turn the channel. My brother fixed it himself. Sign out front was for economy inn but it has changed hands. Couldn’t even find the motel because of this. The funny thing is the new name has the word hotel in it? This is not a hotel, but a motel.

The walls are paper thin. I heard traffic all night. The tub wouldn't fill with water. The T.V. wouldn't work. They did have coffee available in the morning.

Had to change rooms The TV wasn't working, other than that everything was great

The room was hot because the air was not on. The fridge was not plugged in and there was water leaking from it. The microwave wasn’t plugged in. The TV remote didn’t work and the TV was stuck on HGTV.

Traveling from Indiana for races First , had econo lodge sign up ,, not cool But lady said new one ordered Then a $50 deposit,, ya get back when ya check out ,,, without even inspecting room ??? Plus $1.50 fee ,,, for what ???? Efforts had been made to nice things up for sure , but missed big things like , ac was olllddd ,, kept kicking off gfi also,, to say it was load would be a understatement Room 66 needs a new ac guys , the compressor is burning up Did i mention how loud it was ?? No extra tp provided, was very close call on tp 😳😳

Front desk clerk was very disrespectful to both me and the woman that was there before me. My room was the wrong room (double queen instead of king) and when I went to go see if I could change it, he told me I would have to pay for another entirely. When I left they basically ushered us out despite the fact that we still had two hours before our checkout time. Very disrespectful will not be going back ever again. Nor do I recommend anybody else to go.

My husband and I have stayed at this location. Multiple times actually we prefer it. Their service is great. We've stayed so much now that they know my husband by name anytime he makes a reservation. They put us in the same room., its been dubbed "our" room. We love staying here its quite not too busy normally soaking the room is very easy & quick.

I was confused at first because I was looking for the name OYO but it was actually an Economy Inn. The place is old and needs a major renovation but other than that it was clean, near food areas and did the job for one night. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

My room was nicely remodeled and very clean. I did not like that I had to pay a deposit for 1 night. It should be considered for future guest. After all they automatically charge extra if you don't check out on time.Nice staff. The room was clean. You have to bring your own instant coffee. There is no coffee maker in the room.

Run down and dirty. TV didn’t work, no coffee, the window was taped and painted with the tape left on and most of the screen torn out, very tacky, hair EVERYWHERE. The towels were disgusting, stained and covered in hair. There was other colored hair all over the bathroom floor. The A/C barely worked, but was loud as heck. No privacy between rooms, you could hear a pin drop from the next room. Rude staff who said to go to McDonald’s if I wanted coffee and mentioned Dunkin but failed to mention it was temporarily closed. What hotel doesn’t provide a coffee pot? Charged me for my pets when the room was filthier when we arrived than when we left. Didn’t provide enough towels and the towels were not big enough for a small child, nevermind an adult. Left after 14 hours, but their no cancel policy wouldn’t allow me a refund for the second night I’d already paid for. The beds are really tiny, didn’t even fit two kids never mind if I’d brought another adult. They painted over spots in the room and bathroom with paint that didn’t match the rest of the spaces. Why cheap out while charging so much? The shower has no water pressure. This was a cheap motel we way over paid for. I absolutely do not recommend.
