Seagull Cottage B&B

The Seagull Cottage was so quaint and clean and in such a great location! The owners were very easy to communicate with and friendly. Plenty of parking out front of the cottage which was situated in a rural farm area, sheep all around and green rolling hills. A 10 minute walk to the tiny town of Port Magee, it's tiny, but all the people are super friendly, with a cute local pub (I would recommend the seafood chowder) and an excellent restaurant for dinner...I had the Guiness Irish stew, was delicious. There is also a waterfront restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. From this area you can take a boat to Skellig Michael, two land masses, one housing a plethora of birds and the other a monastery that has 500? stairs to walk up (depending on the season), well worth the trip. Also near the Cottage was the Cliffs of Kerry, absolutely stunning!! a must do. I loved the feel and vibe of the Seagull cottage, and Port Magee, wished I could have stayed longer. The property is really well looked after and the breakfast in the breakfast room was wonderful, was nice to talk to people and see what they were doing for the day or had done to recommend. There was a great variety of breakfast options and the mellow music was a really nice touch. I particularly enjoyed the French presses for morning coffee :), thank you. Also, being a huge IKEA fan I loved all the IKEA touches. I would highly recommend The Seagull cottage and Port Magee for a relaxed, quiet place to stay. Well done!

The rooms were clean and check in was easy. A quick drive to the docks so that we could do our Skellig Michael tour. Parking on site was free.

We stayed in Portmagee for our booked tour to Skellig Michael (which was fabulous!). Andy welcomed us to Sea Gull cottage and made us feel right at home. Plenty of parking available. There are three local restaurants available in Portmagee and we ate at The Moorings both nights (make reservations as is very popular) and had tea at the Skellig Restaurant, both of which were great. Unfortunately, the sounds from the room above us, our first night at the cottage, were quite loud, but with earplugs, ok. The continental breakfast each morning was great with several choices, most amazing was Andy's homemade granola. We very much enjoyed our visit. Andy was a great host, welcoming and knowledgeable. The room we stayed in, could use some shelves in the bathroom for leaving toiletry bags etc... but otherwise, it was a really lovely room.

Lovely room, quiet location, onsite parking. We were a bit disappointed with not having a kettle in the room to make tea. We were able to use the kitchen but if awake in the night we would be reluctant to use it for fear of disturbing the other residents.

Seagull Cottage is perfectly located for viewing the Kerry Cliffs and accessing Skellig Michael. It's also just up the hill from PortMagee and the pub where the filming crew for Star Wars stayed. Our room was spotless and the beds very comfortable. Great find.

Well-placed at the western end of the Ring of Kerry and Skellig Ring to visit Portmagee, Valentia Island and the Kerry Cliffs. Modern, clean and bright. Access to tea-making facilities in the dining room. Good continental breakfast with home-made items, though not included in basic price - have to add it in. Very quiet and rural.

We stayed here for one night before an early morning Skellig boat departure. Exceeded all expectations! The house and our room were quite nice, hosts very welcoming, comfortable beds, meticulously clean throughout, a simple and thoughtful attention to details. It was also a quick walk down the hill and back for a great pub dinner - and then an amazing continental breakfast in the morning. Just couldn’t have been better! Recommend!

This was a nice stay in the country. Host was very nice and attentive. Small but quaint little room. Could have used a small chair to sit in and was quite crowded in the breakfast room. Maybe schedule times to attend would help. All in all a beautiful area. Was able to hike up to the majestic cliffs by a little car tide away.

Very nice simple place to stay. Very clean. Very quiet. Breakfast was perfect. Bed was quite small and slightly too hard.

The area is quiet and peaceful. We could tell that the walls were a bit thin and could hear other guests, however most people made an effort to be respectful. Breakfast serve-yourself choices were also simple but very good. Great option and value for the area. I would happily stay there again.

Je savais que c était un déjeuner continental mais c est vraiment plus sur rudimentaire vous n avez pas de café frais juste du café nescafé en poudre et vous rajouter de l eau ( un café frais serait apprécié)

It’s basically a big house, and you should expect to be left to your own devices while you’re there. The proprietors live off site, so there is no one around much of the time if you need help. I arrived a bit after 6 and had to peer through the front door to see the number to call to be let in. Breakfast was kind of a high-end continental: cereal, bread for toasting with various spreads, a small plate with cold cuts, some fruit, juices, etc. The proprietors were there during breakfast but not much in evidence; I would have liked more hospitality. On the plus side, the place is clean and attractive, and very close to the harbor if you’re doing a Skellig trip.

What an absolute STUNNING location! Check in was simple, rooms were clean, large and modern. Side note: location is an escape from the world, a such, there are no TV’s in the rooms. Come here to unplug, decompress ands ENJOY the serenity of Portmagee! A short, 1-mile walk down the street takes you directly to awesome pubs and the docks! The owner Andy was kind and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend Seagull Cottage!

Very nice B&B if you've plan to attend Skelling island tour. Really walkable from the pier to the B&B and very not far from the Kerry's cliffs also. Very clean and Andy is awesome. Very enjoyed my stay there.

A thoughtfully run and very comfortable B&B. A little bit of a hike to town, on a narrow country lane -- so walking at night wasn't a good option. The Continental breakfast with French press coffee was a nice touch.

It was an amazing place to stay, wonderful continental breakfast with high quality meats, cereals, homemade food, jams, and wonderful tea and coffee. Would definitely come back!

Our stay at Seagull Cottage B & B was very nice. Loved the beautiful and peaceful scenery. We had an amazing breakfast consisting of Belgian waffles, homemade granola bars, French-pressed coffee!
