SUNRISE Alex Avenue Hotel

I would recommend Sunrise Alex Avenue to anyone planning to stay in Alexandria. The hotel is safe from the main road, with 2 pool areas (both with safe areas for non swimmers and at least 2 guards watching), and the beautiful small beach area that is closed off from the big waves of the Med sea. My only complaint is that because we were with my elderly mother in law, we didnt realise how far away our romms were from the main building for breakfast etc. We have recommended that the hotel invest in some gold carts so they can help for accessibility reasons, as they did offer a wheelchair but not everybody like those.

The stay was superb, very nice view. The beach is so beautiful the swimming pool is very nice and always attended by a life guard. Imad and mahdy from reception made checkin and checkout very smooth and were available to answer all our questions.

This place in the middle of everything you need and the service very good with decent breakfast. My only problem the disco club which was loud and you can hear it all night from your bedroom. If you are a light sleeper then get a room far away from the disco club. I recommend this place.

We stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful experience. We arrived much earlier than the check-in time, but the staff were very kind and checked us in quickly, which we really appreciated after a long trip. Our upper-level room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel’s location is perfect, right on the Corniche with easy access to nearby attractions. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of options. The hotel also has a pool and a lovely beach area; we went swimming in the sea and it was refreshing and very enjoyable, with comfortable loungers and umbrellas available. The staff throughout the hotel were helpful and welcoming, making our stay smooth and pleasant. Overall, SUNRISE Alex Avenue Hotel provided great comfort, a fantastic location, and warm hospitality. We would happily stay here again.

The hotel was great. Room was super clean. Included Breakfast was just beyond what we could have imagined. Nice pools, Heated pool, Ocean views and close to everything. We loved it.

I spent 2 nights with my mom and the place was great, nice views, multiple seating areas, access to beach, multiple swimming pools, nice service. The building near the night club can hear music noise until 5 am

Beautifully layed out rooms/suites, Family friendly with pools, private beach, gym, corniche like walkway on premesis for power walks or jog. Clean & Mosque On Premisis!. Very pleasant, attentive and accomodative staff. Visible improvements since last stay 2 yrs ago. Food choices on site, cinveniently located to outside food options- Hardees, Kfc, Mcdonalds & local foods.

The gym opens at 10 (when breakfast closes), and closes at 10pm. Pool opens at 9, not for business travelers or really anyone who exercises regularly . Staff is nice, kind, but not well trained. very few understand even basic English words. Breakfast is abundant, some local dishes are very good, coffee is not good at all. There is way too much food waste.

Excellent location but service went downhill since my last visit. Minimal toiletries and there was a pungent paint smell throughout the hallway and inside closet. Staff denied it is paint but I learned later from fellow guests that parts of hotels were being renovated. Breakfast was good but have to make own coffee from average coffee machine.

We stayed for 4 nights while I was recovering from surgery. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, always very friendly and helpful. Gave us a free upgrade to a deluxe room. The room was spacious and tidy, a few bits of wear and tear such as the reading lights not working and one of the beds was a bit squeaky. We had a problem with the door key one day but they very quickly fixed the problem. They have a lot of weddings here so be prepared for music until midnight/1am.

Check in took much time like 2 hours and we were staying one night only and check out was only till 1pm and they called to follow up several times, room wasn’t clean, full of sand on the floor. Location is awesome, they should make guests more comfortable compared to the price they take.

The hotel is probably one of the best in alex, and we have previously stayed in sunrise Tucana in makadi and Sharm. The overall hotel is lovely with the beach facilities and pool. When we arrived the room was ‘ready’ however it was dirty, hair, nuts on the floor and dust around the bed and back of the door. Which I had to ask housekeeping to go over. We have a 10pm the old so cleanliness is top of my priority. The bathrooms always smelled but I think this is Alexandria not the hotel only. The private is large and enough space for guests with chez longs included. However the beach service was very limited and when asking for a drink it would take 15-20mins to arrive as they would collect everyone’s order and prepare all at same time. I used the gym which was okay - again needs cleaning and some health and safety measurements as treadmills were falling apart. Hotel breakfast had a good variety but the size of the hall for the amount of guests is not spacious enough- I felt very claustrophobic. The food wasn’t 5* usually you can expect to see a good variety of fruits, smoked salmon, plant based milks, healthier corner but unfortunately none of that and when they did have low fat yogurt on one day it was very warm and watery. I didn’t feel the buffet was hygienic The thing is generally in Egypt when You complain then you get good service and attention to detail but we don’t want to complain in the first place. This also happened at Tucana sunrise and sharm resorts.

It was a Nice experience at the hotel. The beach didn’t have that open view but was very very clean,and the staff was very friendly. Room cleaning services could be improved.

Generally speaking it was good the only thing is that we arrived to the hotel a bit early so we have to stay one and half hours to get the room ready for us. The other thing is that the last day it was raining heavily in Alexandria the roof of the hotel started to drip drops of water so i believe it has to be maintained and checked every now and then

Clean room, friendly staff

Although it looks like an old hotel by look of furniture but the level of cleanliness is superb. The guy cleaning my room was very efficient. Cleans, replenish stuffs and always smiling. Generally all staffs smile at you. Great breakfast buffé and very quite. Their definition of taking care of you is on another level where they'll call your room to check if everything is ok so sometimes I didnt answer the call just to have my quiete time. I went for massage and I was asked to fill in a form which was only available in Arabic and Russian; the guy asked me to google translate 🙄. The form collects your medical history with no explanation on how the information will be used nor how your personal information is going to be protected. Wondering how that relates to the normal massage I had booked

I had a wonderful stay at Sunrise. Very clean, good facilities, comfy bed plus staff were friendly and helpful. Loved that I could walk 1 min from my patio to a beach! Pools were good and enough of them that I didn’t feel crowded. Weddings were happening all day and into the night, but I loved this. The noise didn’t disturb me. Personally the only downside was that the rooms wreaked of cigarette smoke. As a non smoker it’s not nice. Overall a very pleasant stay. I’d highly recommend!

Staff were brilliant especially Nesma. Food options were limited. The problem with the resort was the music at night going on to 3 am. We changed rooms kindly sorted out by the management, but there was still noise resounding around the resort. Not recommended for people who want a good nights sleep.

Tv only in arab language

Poor service quality as I experienced the below: - My reservation was a room with King bed size, they delivered me a room with 2 single beds. - I reached the hotel late, I did not check the terrace door. in the morning, I was surprised that the terrace door lock was damaged, and it is easily could be opened from outside (my room is in ground floor) - I have to call the reception to ask for the basic things like dental kit, slipper, Iron or shaving kit.

My family and I really tried to enjoy it here. There are no elevators, we had a suite on the 3rd floor and carried a baby and stroller up and down the stairs for 10 days (along with luggage and bags on some days). This does not include the stairs to get through the hotel and to our building. They charge for lost keys, towel keys, towels and probably anything else you can think of that is not returned. Cleaning is mediocre. Food is ok but service in the restaurant takes a really long time. The pool is nice. Security is really nice and friendly. We would not stay here again.

I only spent one night here and won't forget about it! Very friendly and helpful staff, great location a stone's throw from the beach, room was clean and cozy. Only a few minor points would improve the experience in my view. The staff's English skills could be trained; there were no recycle bins for PET bottles; the shower was a bit rudimentary for the price. Apart from that, I can recommend staying here!

A quiet seaside oasis in Alexandria. Booked deluxe non smoking room and had wonderful beach/sea view. Room was nicely outfitted..bedding was quality and relatively new. Balcony spacious. Bathroom is large but tub configuration a little dated/showing age. Staff is excellent at all levels and security is taken seriously. Highly recommend a stay here.

Low shower water pressure, very uncomfortable pillow, poor furniture and facility, it would be at most 3 star if in other countries, then i was told star rating is different in alexandria

Hotel was very nice, our room was beautiful. All staff were awesome other than the staff at Nasaya weren’t overly friendly or helpful. I would recommend staying at this Hotel during a stay in Alexandria. The view of the Mediterranean was incredible from our junior suite. Breakfast was very good also and had plenty of options. Sunrise is a good chain to trust here in Egypt.

Rooms are too small and too old

This is best hotel in Alexandria, service , up keep, attention to detail. The Staff from Front office, Bellmen, housekeeping, room service go beyond service expectations, always looking for ways to make sure you have your needs met. The Sea view and access to swimming is amazing, It’s a 5 star experience all the way around. Thanks

From start to finish our stay at the hotel was excellent. All staff were very professional and polite at all times. Nothing was to much trouble. Any little requests were dealt with promptly. The food was excellent. Breakfast had an excellent selection. We had food at both the restaurants in the evening and must say the pasta dishes were fabulous. Many thanks to all who made our stay very enjoyable.

Check in was horrendous I got skipped over several times and asked to wait for no reason while they helped others

The hotel is literally located on the beach. The location is fantastic and very close to all the luxury restaurants and walking bays. The staff are extremely professional, polite, and helpful , always with a smile. The breakfast is varied, fresh, and satisfies all the tastes. And the staff very friendly. We arrived quite late, gone midnight. Reception was open and ready to receive us. We were warmly welcomed and upon check in, our room was upgraded, which was a really nice thing. Once at our room, it all came together, there was birthday cake fresh fruit and sweet treats left for my daughter, which was absolutely amazing! We ordered room service after a super long day, which arrived promptly and fresh. The following day, I went to reception to thank the staff for all of their effort and kindness. I had been dealing with Moataz at the hotel, who made absolutely everything, simple, easy and a joy. He and his staff assisted us with everything from transfers, dinner arrangements, places to visit and advice. Staying at this hotel, has been 1 of the best travel experiences we've had, everyone is incredibly helpful, caring and will go out of their way to assist. The hotel, restaurants & facilities are all highly recommended and I would happily return again. Brilliant experience!

Great hotel, below the street level right on the water and away from the noise and hustle of the streets.

VERY CONVENIENT LOCATION

Had the best stay at this hotel. If you are looking to explore Alexandria this location is perfect and it’s just an hour and half drive in an uber to Cairo Gizza. Enjoy

It was an okay stay. We won’t do again especially that you have to pay for the water while eating breakfast. They still need to work on so many details of what it means to be a five stars hotel.

A gem in Alexandria - the beach and pools were amazing - the rooms well appointed and the service was great. The restaurants were hit or miss and more expensive than the ones down the street

Nice property, we really like the spacious suite and the beach. Breakfast was disappointing, looks like a lot of food, however lots of junk and low quality food.. sad to say.
