Lovely large room and en-suite. Dog-friendly. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Fabulous breakfast. Difficult to open windows and the rooms are accessible from the back of the pub so you have to go outside if you want to go to the pub which isn’t ideal if it’s cold/rainy. Overall though a fabulous stay.

A lovely quiet pub hotel right on the broads. However you really need a car to fully appreciate the area. I stayed 2 nights as I was attending a friends wedding so perfect for me.

A great place to stay, really nice large room with lovely view and comfortable bed. Very generous portions of food both for the evening meal and breakfast. Staff were really friendly and helpful and our dog was also made welcome.

Lovely pub right in the river. Parking tricky as shared between two pubs and the public and almost impossible at certain times of day during the summer. But free. We stayed 4 nights in total, and while the rate wasn’t cheap for the class of room, given the time of year and location was fair value. Breakfast was astonishingly good value and enormous! We ate in the pub all 4 evenings and dinner portions similarly huge and fair value for the area. Good quality, and one minor issue with undercooked fries was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The rest of our meals were really tasty and enjoyable. I’d recommend this pub quite highly - it’s a good area and aside from the slightly tricky parking, we had a very enjoyable stay in the area.

Great dog friendly location to watch the water of the Broads go by as our room faced full length windows providing many hors of entertainment watching the gees, swans and sunsets. Would have been good to know that to get to our room we had a climb of 12 external steps which was a bit of a challenge with cases and our pup but well worth kt when you got there. The menu is extensive so would suit most tastes, they even have a 'real' wood fired pizza oven that fires up each morning. All food is fresh and made to order so could take a little time as The Rising Sun is popular with locals and tourists alike but well worth the wait. The only problem with breakfast and with all the meals - they are big! ( not a problem for some ) Plenty of parking although it can get busy at times but we always found a space. As well as the outside seating there are also dog friendly tables inside if the weather is not so good. Definitely the place to stay when in the area

Staff were lovely but bit confusing as to where to check in. Room was nice, spacious and clean, but accommodation areas (including stairways etc) could all do with a bit of sanding down and paint touch ups (peeling paint in bathroom, scuffs on walls…) Not a bad place though, would stay again

A lovely spot on the river. Room was perfect, staff were very friendly, food and drink was superb. Not far from the station at Wroxham where we parked for free and took the train for a day in Sheringham.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were exceptionally helpful, welcome and friendly. The food was excellent. Set in a lovely location by the river, this id a perfect place for a few days away.

We have stayed here many times but this visit was under par. The water in the shower/bath was warm. Several of the toiletries had been used but left. Noticed breakfast menu has been scalled down.

The room was ok, although could do with a little tlc. The outside area before you access the rooms was not so nice! Bit scruffy! Breakfast was bit greasy, and veggie sausages gooey! Left most of it.

Overall a lovely stay, fantastic spot right on the river front. Large family room was great and very spacious but could have been cleaner, lots of dust & cobwebs! Food was absolutely fantastic, we ate in the restaurant 3 evenings and every meal was excellent. We were well looked after and the staff were brilliant. Would recommend.

Wow !!!food mas amazing very big portions our gratitude to the cook and staff service from the staff top points praise them breakfast was truly great and the stay was great one thing to say would be the room we where in needed the cobwebs hoovered away there where a few it was very spacious and a rare treat was the shower we did stay 2 days we could come and go as we pleased we did book the restaurant.our bed and breakfast was value for money will revisit again .

Really cool place on the water and the food was very good. I was out early in the morning, but was given a nice breakfast to take away. The rooms are definitely an after thought. My room was cold, and no heater. I found an ironing board myself by taking for it. Bed wasn’t great either.

Stunning room 4 with the most amazing view of the river. A must for bird watchers. The restaurant was amazing…. The staff very helpful. We wanted to stay for ever in that stunning room. Hope to go back in the near future.

We stayed two nights in the family room, which was really nicely done up, amazing view onto the river and plenty of space for a family with two kids. We were a bit disappointed with dinner at the pub however, with the food being pretty average and service slow. Other than that I would definitely recommend staying here for a short break in the Norfolk countryside

Andy the Manager of the Rising Sun met us with a warm welcome on arrival. We stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful stay with a river view room. All staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was fantastic with an excellent Full English breakfast or a light breakfast option if preferred. Would definitely stay again in the Summer and highly recommend staying at the Rising Sun in Coltishall.

The whole experience from checking in to checking was first rate. Staff always had a smile and a warm welcome for all who entered the pub, nothing was too much trouble. I was not able to have the breakfast due to start time on working so, they made up a breakfast bag for me each morning which was a nice touch. View from the room was great and nice to sit by the water. I will look forward to returning to the pub later in the year. Over all a much better service than from most hotel chain.

Fantastic staff mostly shout out to poppy who was amazing ! Breakfast and pizzas amazing , views from pub garden lovely , Lady at breakfast very grumpy and told to leave the room early S she needed to clean it although we had an prior arrangement to book out late , she made us leave very rude

Cosy riverside pub with very comfortable rooms, outstanding breakfast, and 10/10 service. I arrived late after a work event and even though the kitchen had closed, was still sorted with dinner. A beautiful setting to boot.

Great dog friendly location to watch the water of the Broads go by as our room faced full length windows providing many hors of entertainment watching the gees, swans and sunsets. Would have been good to know that to get to our room we had a climb of 12 external steps which was a bit of a challenge with cases and our pup but well worth kt when you got there. The menu is extensive so would suit most tastes, they even have a 'real' wood fired pizza oven that fires up each morning. All food is fresh and made to order so could take a little time as The Rising Sun is popular with locals and tourists alike but well worth the wait. The only problem with breakfast and with all the meals - they are big! ( not a problem for some ) Plenty of parking although it can get busy at times but we always found a space. As well as the outside seating there are also dog friendly tables inside if the weather is not so good. Definitely the place to stay when in the area

Really lovely stay right on the river. The room was large, clean and a good view of the river and a massive bonus is the excellent breakfast and the pub does 1st class food for dinner.

A lovely spot on the river. Room was perfect, staff were very friendly, food and drink was superb. Not far from the station at Wroxham where we parked for free and took the train for a day in Sheringham.

We stayed two nights in the family room, which was really nicely done up, amazing view onto the river and plenty of space for a family with two kids. We were a bit disappointed with dinner at the pub however, with the food being pretty average and service slow. Other than that I would definitely recommend staying here for a short break in the Norfolk countryside

Stunning room 4 with the most amazing view of the river. A must for bird watchers. The restaurant was amazing…. The staff very helpful. We wanted to stay for ever in that stunning room. Hope to go back in the near future.

We have stayed here many times but this visit was under par. The water in the shower/bath was warm. Several of the toiletries had been used but left. Noticed breakfast menu has been scalled down.

A great place to stay, really nice large room with lovely view and comfortable bed. Very generous portions of food both for the evening meal and breakfast. Staff were really friendly and helpful and our dog was also made welcome.

What a wonderful place. The room was large and spacious with a wonderful view of the river. Meals were flavourful and plenty. I genuinely say that the breakfast was the BEST I have had in all my years of business travel.

The room was ok, although could do with a little tlc. The outside area before you access the rooms was not so nice! Bit scruffy! Breakfast was bit greasy, and veggie sausages gooey! Left most of it.

We stayed one night last weekend, we had to be moved because the toilet flush didn't work but fortunately that wasn't a problem. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are far enough away from the bar so as to be quiet. Our only small criticism of room 3 is that it's in the eaves and the shower screen is fixed so it is almost impossible to turn on the bath tap without actually getting in the bath! A silly design fault. The location on the river is lovely and it was good to have a drink outside in the sunshine in April. Dinner was amazing, the restaurant was packed on a Sunday night but service was quick, friendly and efficient. My Asian burger with king prawns and my wife's baby ribs were amazing and portions were enormous; we had no room for what looked like lovely desserts. £60 for this quality of food with a couple of drinks is excellent value. Breakfast was good too although there was not a great deal of choice. We were the only people staying but would certainly go to this pub again.
