Highly recommend getting a massage while on property. Staff was very nice and attentive. Food was good with plenty of options despite only having one restaurant available. Furniture in room was outdated but functional. Great stay and of course, the views and accessibility to the water was fantastic!

Easy access to dive boats, staff very nice & accommodating. Swim up jacuzzi bar was nice. Lots of chairs around the pool & beach, towel service. Some small maintenance issues in our room, which staff attended to immediately, & moved us to another room. All was good after that.

The location is great as it's next to the cruise terminal so a lot of shopping and eating nearby if you chose to leave the property. The food is great at the property so I never ate outside the resort. The one improvement would be the bar service around the pool. There is only 1 bar and not enough server walking around getting drink orders. The swim up bar is attached to the hot tub not the pool. If you are in the pool and and want another drink, most times I had to get out of the pool and go up to the bar.

Loved this property with all the amenities, ie pool, beach, ocean swim area. Stall was courteous and helpful. Perfectly located next to cruise ship harbor where we met friends who were sailing.

First, the positives. Balcony room was huge. Two full bathrooms and in great shape. Bed was very comfortable if you like a pillow top mattress. A/C worked great. Even though just one restaurant and bar with the all inclusive, the food was good with lots of choices. The staff was friendly and the resort was super clean. Now the negatives. The beach is tiny and rocky and shoes are needed to walk in. All the drinks we had from the bar tasted like they used mixes with artificial sweetener. They just had that weird aftertaste. I like my beer and American whiskeys and bourbons. They only had two types of Mexican beer on tap that was all your beer choices. No American whiskey or bourbons on the basic all-inclusive. For an additional $35 a day per person, you could get Jim Beam or Jack Daniels but that’s it. I would expect a really top shelf bourbon for that much extra. Before check-in, their website and Travelocity said they charged $15 a day for an “Environmental Fee”, but they tried charging the environmental fee as well as a couple small others for $19 a day. Travelocity and their website never mentioned these additional fees. They finally had me sign a paper that let me take $2 off a day, but still stuck me with $17. Not a lot of money, but it just felt like they were trying to gig you for all they could. They tried upcharging for lots of drinks and food. Wi-Fi wasn’t free if we hadn’t gotten a room upgrade. El Cid wasn’t terrible but we’ll try a different place next time.

The property from the front is very run down and old and the sidewalk/parking lot is broken down with holes and broken concrete. The staff is wonderful. No beach I repeat NO BEACH even though it’s a beach resort there is no beach. We had to pay $80 to go to San Francisco beach club. Taxis are anywhere from 10-20 each way. No bus system. We did enjoy the cruise ships coming and going. Only one restaurant. No evening entertainment except for karaoke. Limited food and drink choices. Again it was clean staff was great. Very small property.

Good experience. The "All Inclusive" food offering was decent. Staff were very good. Room was not fancy, but clean and nice enough. Only one pool and fairly small. We mainly use the hotel for a place to eat and sleep while not scuba diving and it worked for that.

El atención por parte del personal fue pésimo, me maltrataron, la relación calidad precio es muy malo, la comida insípida sin sabor por el precio que se paga, se espera unos alimentos en buen estado y sabor, nunca realizaron la limpieza a la habitación, dejaron ropa sucio y platos con restos de comida de otros huéspedes por más de un dia, en el pasillo, la piscina sucia con restos de comida

We stayed on the 12th floor and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Every thing was good until it rained and we had a leak in our ceiling. We told the front desk but they didn’t do anything. We had to lay towels on the floor around the room to sop up the water.

I had a fantastic stay at El Cid La Ceiba! Everything was spotless, the staff were so friendly, and the food was always fresh. Roger, the activities director, was amazing — I even won pearl earrings at bingo! I treated myself to massages by the beach and loved relaxing in the hammocks by the ocean. I can’t wait to come back!

We had a great time at El CID La Ceiba. The staff really make this place wonderful. Everyone we encountered was friendly and had a big smile on their face. The rooms are a little dated but they were clean and that’s all I really care about.

Wonderful hotel, with the staff making it that way. The food is excellent, both the choices and the quality. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are the best, with cold AC, hot water in the shower, and always clean.

Es una propiedad con varios años y es muy perceptible cuando uno llega (Se ve totalmente diferente a las fotos que tienen publicadas), desafortunadamente la habitación que nos asignaron olía mucho a humedad y cuando se prendía el aire acondicionado hacía demasiado ruido y olía más a humedad la habitación.

Maintenance was needed on many areas of the toom. Shower pole was loose, shower curtain didn’t stay closed. Pressure was very more. Cleaning teams were outstanding - Brenda did an amazing job

I love the space , the room had a jacuzzi and kitchen a comfortable sofa bed and a separate bedroom, the food was delicious and there was a variety of food options, the staff was really friendly I also loved the snorkeling area and the amazing view from my room, I will definitely come back again

Truely worst stay. The room was like staying in a dark cave. The room was freezing cold and the bathroom like a sonna. The lock to the balcony door was broken. There were no towels in bathroom. . After the storm Saturday night we woke up to flooding in bathroom floor from under the sink area. Housekeeping brought us dirty towels on Sunday since again they had not put towels in the room. This was to be our 45th anniversary trip and sadly it has been disappointing. It appears that we were given a room in part of the hotel still being worked on from all the noise hammering and drilling . I certainly will write to their cororate office for such unprofessional hospitality we received.

The property and Room needed general maintenance. The curtain didn't close all the way. The shower head was faulty. The bathroom faucet only had hot water, which became unsafe pretty fast. Front door wouldn't properly close unless you slammed it. Food was hit or miss at the restaurant as well as the wait staff. Some were above and beyond others were lacking.

We have stayed at 3 different properties in Cozumel. Park Royal: nice room but terrible food. Hotel Cozumel: room was dated but comfortable and Good Food. El CID: The best! The resort is small and quiet. My wife and I were looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting and we got exactly what we wanted. There is only 1 restaurant but the food is good, the service is good and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a 1 bedroom suite and we were happy with the room. The AC will freeze you out it works so well, the beds are comfortable and the resort is quiet at night. For the price this place is really hard to beat. We will come back again.

We have stayed here several times and love this resort! It’s small, clean, and has a beautiful view!! The service is usually amazing but on the last day it was terrible! We sat on the beach and not one person came to offer us drinks or food! For over 5 hours….this is not the norm for them and we were shocked!

The employees are so helpful. Armando and Ari are the best. Roger did a good job with activities. The people at the front desk were all helpful although I did not get their names. Restaurant servers were very helpful and friendly as well. Becky and Viktor are very good.

We had a great time at El CID La Ceiba. The staff really make this place wonderful. Everyone we encountered was friendly and had a big smile on their face. The rooms are a little dated but they were clean and that’s all I really care about.

My bed linen ware not chnaged, so in night i needed to go to reception and they had to chnage bed linens - which ware full of stains!!! 2. Stayed at El Cid many times, like the location with shopping and transportation options within short walking deistance. On the ocean side. most all rooms have ocean views, snorkeling right there within a few steps on property. Stayed here for 8 days very clean and nice place. The island is super safe we felt safe going out for a walk at night no problem. One thing to complain is the whole island is catered towards the cruise ships so at 6 everything shuts down and the night life boring besides going for a nice walk. Highly recommend for someone who just wants a relaxing vacation and not wanting to go out and party.

We love El Cid La Ceiba, primarily because the food is better than any other place we have stayed in Cozumel. Always an amazing stay at the el cid. We’ve been there. 15 or so times and it never ceases to amaze us. Small quiet place with most of the all inclusive off of a menu, which means it’s cooked fresh to order. We love it!!

First, the positives. Balcony room was huge. Two full bathrooms and in great shape. Bed was very comfortable if you like a pillow top mattress. A/C worked great. Even though just one restaurant and bar with the all inclusive, the food was good with lots of choices. The staff was friendly and the resort was super clean. Now the negatives. The beach is tiny and rocky and shoes are needed to walk in. All the drinks we had from the bar tasted like they used mixes with artificial sweetener. They just had that weird aftertaste. I like my beer and American whiskeys and bourbons. They only had two types of Mexican beer on tap that was all your beer choices. No American whiskey or bourbons on the basic all-inclusive. For an additional $35 a day per person, you could get Jim Beam or Jack Daniels but that’s it. I would expect a really top shelf bourbon for that much extra. Before check-in, their website and Travelocity said they charged $15 a day for an “Environmental Fee”, but they tried charging the environmental fee as well as a couple small others for $19 a day. Travelocity and their website never mentioned these additional fees. They finally had me sign a paper that let me take $2 off a day, but still stuck me with $17. Not a lot of money, but it just felt like they were trying to gig you for all they could. They tried upcharging for lots of drinks and food. Wi-Fi wasn’t free if we hadn’t gotten a room upgrade. Good experience. The "All Inclusive" food offering was decent. Staff were very good. Room was not fancy, but clean and nice enough. Only one pool and fairly small. We mainly use the hotel for a place to eat and sleep while not scuba diving and it worked for that.

El Cid wants to charge $12 per day PER DEVICE for internet-RIPOFF! One small elevator in operation to serve 12 floors, so be prepared to wait, or take the small emergency stairs. Second elevator is under construction/renovation so enjoy the arc welding and hammer drilling while this is underway. Bed in our room was a Murphy Bed that folded down from it's cabinet and very firm. Required 4 in person requests over two days to get extra pillows to make the Murphy bed comfortable enough to sleep.

This hotel is in full decline. I have been a supporter and loyal guests for many years but the hotel needs refurbishment of rooms and some public areas. It has a great location with convenient snorkeling. It seems some of the hotel employees are not motivated to offer guests a warm and welcome service. They almost act like security guards and are intrusive. The hotel and staff are trying to grab monies and the daily injection of many cruise ship passengers has diluted the peace, quality of food and drinks. It seems the cruise ship passengers paying for their all inclusive day pass are treated better than the paying hotel guests. The parking was good but too many questions about check in and check out which left a feeling of let's not book here again! I believe most of the hotel employees could do with retraining to understand the paying guests are guests!!! Overall the stay while short was not the best and will not book again. I used to send all my guests here but that will not happen again following this very disappointing stay. They did offer a welcome drink but we were allocated a dirty old room with no view on the 4th floor, avoid this room! 1420. My guests were given a ground floor room close to the pool which was cool but again their feedback was dirty bed sheets, old decir and tired room! The food and drink quality is now very poor and would not eat here. HDB
