Rooms were maintained clean daily by happy, caring staff. The soft white sandy beach with a safe swim in the Caribbean Sea just steps away. There are various tasty restaurant food choices, always timely served by friendly staff. Travel advice available from early morning to late evening from the knowledgeable office staff. Competent security staff around 24/7. We had quite an enjoyable HOLIDAY at Firefly Resort!!

I love the firefly!! The che k in was lovely and kind. We stayed in the cottage!! Cute and right on the beach!! The staff is amazing and the bar..the food was phenomenal and Nrs Sophie is my favorite. She spoiled us rotten.My new go to place to stay!!

The price of the room was excellent and the room was very spacious. Unfortunately, the resort had no power when we checked in. Thankfully, the bar had a generator and Sophia served up some awesome rum punches. The electricity was restored later, but in the morning we had no hot water to shower before check-out.

I was here 11/3-11/10/2023. The price rt air (DTW) & stay was $500. Can’t beat it. When we arrived, I was shown the room the package included-shared bathroom-and was offered an upgrade for $100 more pp. No problem. $600 for a one week. All good. Desk employee who arranged accommodations-Travis- very very nice and pleasant. Housekeeping staff very friendly. My only complaint is the food at the Firefly. Terrible and overpriced. We ate there a couple times and quickly began eating 2 doors down at the Sandy Haven. EVERY DAY. Excellent drinks, food and prices. Full breakfast with French toast, eggs, bacon & potatoes $8! The wonderful think about being along this Negril beach strip is that you can walk along the beach and visit neighboring properties’ bars and restaurants; all beaches are public. You don’t have to stay there to eat there and thank goodness for that- you won’t be stuck/limited to where you lay your head! I would return to Firefly. Rooms 14 & 19 are GREAT & highly recommended. AC works GREAT. Wifi is OK.

The staff was great! Everyone was friendly and efficeint. It was great to be right on the beach and within walking distance of so much. If we go back to Jamaica we'll be staying there again.

I’ve been going to Firefly since the late 1980’s. Honeymooned there in the late 90s. It is perfectly located on the 7 mile beach of Negril. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and you’re never more than a moment away from the beach. The new expanded restaurant and bar is wonderful. If you want a chill vacation, alone, in a couple, with kids, it’s all you need.The staff are all first rate and truly friendly.

Room was clean, staff were very friendly. We were in the room closest to the road so we heard loud vehicles during the night. Roosters started crowing around 3:45 every morning.

Although, I’ve been to Negril many times before, this was my first time staying at Firefly and I regret not staying there sooner. The grounds and well maintained, rooms are spacious and clean, staff members are extremely helpful and friendly. I would recommend and look forward to staying there again!

We got a suite for 3 people with a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave. The place is very outdated but clean and spacious. Few feet away from the beach. They do have restaurant options inside the firefly and surrounding hotels as well. My only inconvenience was that it was very noisy and loud at night. We couldn't sleep. During Negril party nights, felt like the music blasting from the speakers were right near our rooms. Rooms didn't have curtains, so party blinking lights were annoying while we were trying to sleep at 2 am .

We booked this hotel in Negril as an extension to our stay in Montego Bay. It was literally one of the only hotels available. We took our chances and were so disappointed. The property had garbage piled up all over and the smell and bugs from the garbage were so awful, we had to plug our noses each time we walked to our room. There were old appliances like washing machines or dryers laying around on the property. We had a death in the family the day we arrived and had to leave early. The property was very gracious and agreed to refund the remaining part of our stay. They even wrote a letter and signed it agreeing to the refund, however they did not abide by their agreement and once we left, they never refunded the money. They did not return any of our phone calls or emails or requests to speak with the manager. We will certainly NOT return to this hotel or recommend it to anyone else.

This was our first time at FireFly, and we had high hopes of making it our ongoing spot, but we understand it has been sold. No one knows what the future holds. It is a sad situation for employees at the hotel, and even the restaurant. The pros are definitely the employees! They could not have been nicer, in spite of the uncertainty of future employment. Andrea, in the office, was very helpful in assisting with changes we had to make due to an emergency. Jarvis, in the office, is amazing. Thoughtful, helpful, with a great personality!!!!! He would do well anywhere, and be a real asset. Addy, in housekeeping, was a delight. She wasn’t our housekeeper, but would brighten up your day anytime you came in contact with her. And, Miss Darby was excellent (our housekeeper). Very pleasant, and helped us with some laundry. My husband’s socks have never been whiter! Gary, in security, was so nice to talk with, and went out of his was to make us feel comfortable. Cons. The property could use some updating, both inside, and out. Water pressure was sometimes an issue. We went 2 days without TV, and wifi was iffy at best. We never saw anyone at the security entrance. Gary can’t be at the beach, and entrance, at the same time. We would have considered going back, but because of the total uncertainty of the property we have already made arrangements elsewhere. You have to book early for these small, local, affordable, places.

Great location next to a lot of restaurants, activities and shopping needs. Service at restaurant was just ok. Shower in room was very low pressure and no hot water. Asked for it to be fixed but it never was. Used community shower.

Loved the location. Way too close to the road so very very noisy with traffic starting at 5am! Incredibly horrid loud roosters beside us on both sides starting screaming every night at midnight til 6am ... not the resort fault but hey didnt sleep much lol Food was very good, the $5 lunches were excellent thanks dawn

The price of the room was excellent and the room was very spacious. Unfortunately, the resort had no power when we checked in. Thankfully, the bar had a generator and Sophia served up some awesome rum punches. The electricity was restored later, but in the morning we had no hot water to shower before check-out.

Ett boende som funkar för ett par dagar pga av läget. Seven mile beach precis vid resorten. Magiska solnedgångar på första parkett!!! Svala rum. Personalen i resurangen är inte så vänliga med gör väl sitt jobb. Åt endast frukost en gång och då fanns ingen frukt. Finns massor av andra ställen. Obs!!!... Är du lättväckt är detta inte ett ställe för dig. Tupparna börjar skrika vid ett på natten och fortsätter till ca 7.30 Själv höll jag på bli galen. Vi hade 3 nätter på detta ställe och det räckte. Med pga av läget så blir det ändå 3 ☀️☀️☀️

I’ve been going to Firefly since the late 1980’s. Honeymooned there in the late 90s. It is perfectly located on the 7 mile beach of Negril. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and you’re never more than a moment away from the beach. The new expanded restaurant and bar is wonderful. If you want a chill vacation, alone, in a couple, with kids, it’s all you need.The staff are all first rate and truly friendly.

Overall a great place to stay. As we had room 17 at the very top, our view was spectacular. Staff were very friendly and helpful in a timely manner. Kitchen setup was good for making breakfast or a light meal. The only down side with our stay was the seating for the room . The bar stools in the room, and on the balcony are only comfortable for a short sitting time, and the only other option was to lay down on the bed. The balcony could benifit from a couple lounge type chairs. As one of the main things we enjoy on our vacations is to relax and take in the experience, more comfortable seating would have made this place perfect.

Although, I’ve been to Negril many times before, this was my first time staying at Firefly and I regret not staying there sooner. The grounds and well maintained, rooms are spacious and clean, staff members are extremely helpful and friendly. I would recommend and look forward to staying there again!

The place is awesome but we did not get the ocean view suite we reserved. When speaking with other guests the same happened to them. Seems like other guest may have extended their stay and they accommodated them rather than the new guests checking in. I would definitely stay again as long as I am assured of my exact accommodations before arrival.

the web site is very deceiving we booked two different rooms the first had no stove,micro wave,coffee pot toiletries or bottled water as stated in description.the second was the beach view cottage described as 398 sq ft it was 180 sq ft and the restaurant blocked the sea view. also no toiletries or bottled water

We booked this hotel in Negril as an extension to our stay in Montego Bay. It was literally one of the only hotels available. We took our chances and were so disappointed. The property had garbage piled up all over and the smell and bugs from the garbage were so awful, we had to plug our noses each time we walked to our room. There were old appliances like washing machines or dryers laying around on the property. We had a death in the family the day we arrived and had to leave early. The property was very gracious and agreed to refund the remaining part of our stay. They even wrote a letter and signed it agreeing to the refund, however they did not abide by their agreement and once we left, they never refunded the money. They did not return any of our phone calls or emails or requests to speak with the manager. We will certainly NOT return to this hotel or recommend it to anyone else.

The first day, friends we were travelling with were informed that they had no room and were going to be provided with a room at a different place. It turned out to be basically a shack that smelled poorly. Our room, once we checked in had multiple beds. Our friends ended up staying with us and Firefly chose to not comp the other room. On our last day there, we were told that we needed to move rooms because they overbooked and needed the space. That being said, the resturaunt had excellent service and the food was great. The rooms were kept very clean by the staff and were nice if a bit dated.

Staff very helpful in upgrading from basic cabin to awesome suite/kitchenette upstairs room. Loved everything about the room! Everyone working here is so pleasant and friendly! This was my first stay here but definitely won't be the last! Excellent value for Negril beach!

The establishments are absolutely exquisite. You wake up to wild roosters cookooing nearby, beautiful landscape, close to the main strip for taxi services, groceries, general store and pharmacy. Quick stroll through beautifully catered gardens to the MAGNIFICENT 7 mile Negril beach. I stayed in two buildings here at Firefly, 2 days in the Apartment suite which was very clean, beautiful and open to the elements, and another 5 days in the Single Cottage. The cottage was absolutely breathtaking and such a surprise, wow. You will spend most of your time out exploring but coming back to Firefly at the end of the day is a beautiful experience. Staff are extremely nice and want to help you with anything you need. Highly, highly recommend Firefly! -Corey

We got a suite for 3 people with a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave. The place is very outdated but clean and spacious. Few feet away from the beach. They do have restaurant options inside the firefly and surrounding hotels as well. My only inconvenience was that it was very noisy and loud at night. We couldn't sleep. During Negril party nights, felt like the music blasting from the speakers were right near our rooms. Rooms didn't have curtains, so party blinking lights were annoying while we were trying to sleep at 2 am .

Rooms were maintained clean daily by happy, caring staff. The soft white sandy beach with a safe swim in the Caribbean Sea just steps away. There are various tasty restaurant food choices, always timely served by friendly staff. Travel advice available from early morning to late evening from the knowledgeable office staff. Competent security staff around 24/7. We had quite an enjoyable HOLIDAY at Firefly Resort!!

I love the firefly!! The che k in was lovely and kind. We stayed in the cottage!! Cute and right on the beach!! The staff is amazing and the bar..the food was phenomenal and Nrs Sophie is my favorite. She spoiled us rotten.My new go to place to stay!!

Great location next to a lot of restaurants, activities and shopping needs. Service at restaurant was just ok. Shower in room was very low pressure and no hot water. Asked for it to be fixed but it never was. Used community shower.

I was here 11/3-11/10/2023. The price rt air (DTW) & stay was $500. Can’t beat it. When we arrived, I was shown the room the package included-shared bathroom-and was offered an upgrade for $100 more pp. No problem. $600 for a one week. All good. Desk employee who arranged accommodations-Travis- very very nice and pleasant. Housekeeping staff very friendly. My only complaint is the food at the Firefly. Terrible and overpriced. We ate there a couple times and quickly began eating 2 doors down at the Sandy Haven. EVERY DAY. Excellent drinks, food and prices. Full breakfast with French toast, eggs, bacon & potatoes $8! The wonderful think about being along this Negril beach strip is that you can walk along the beach and visit neighboring properties’ bars and restaurants; all beaches are public. You don’t have to stay there to eat there and thank goodness for that- you won’t be stuck/limited to where you lay your head! I would return to Firefly. Rooms 14 & 19 are GREAT & highly recommended. AC works GREAT. Wifi is OK.

As always love Firefly! I have been staying here for 40 years. Although Negril and the beach have changed so much, Firefly is cool and old school. Super comfy. Super kind. Super cool. Best location on beach. Great food. Nice people. Not over priced. Will always stay here when I need a room on the beach! One love.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Firefly Cottages for a period of seven nights, and I must say that I do not feel compelled to return. The accommodations were somewhat rudimentary, as evidenced by the need to manually screw in the light bulb to activate the lighting in the bedroom. Furthermore, the door required the use of a key to secure it from both the inside and outside, which may be perceived as inconvenient by some guests. Unfortunately, the television was not functioning properly, The bathroom mirror over the sink had fallen down at one time so it leaned against the wall behind the faucet for support which now you couldn’t see your face only from shoulder down. You had to shake the handle on the toilet so it would stop running after you flushing. There was a rod underneath staircase that I had to use to hang clothes. These are things which detracted from my overall experience. Given the apparent change in ownership over the years, i do believe it is likely that the property's condition has declined. Despite the picturesque backdrop provided by the almond trees shading the property, my experience was marred by several issues. While I did enjoy a pleasant dinner there in 2023 and opted for breakfast on two occasions during my stay, I largely kept to myself and avoided the property whenever possible. I don’t recommend Firefly Cottages take my word and find some other budget options for your money!! I also asked for a ground floor i didn’t get it until later i cha

We had a cottage with beach view and it was lovely. The accommodations are a bit rustic but we enjoyed it. Centrally located on seven mile beach and beautiful grounds. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
