We had a very pleasant experience at the Hotel Regina in Wengen. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly at check-in and in the hotel restaurant. The dining room overlooked the Lauterbrunnen valley below with spectacular views. The food was outstanding, I had the leg of lamb and it was excellent. We will return next year to enjoy the views and food!

Hotel Regina is just steps away from Wengen train station. It’s like taking a step back in time entering the reception area. It was the first hotel built in Wengen. The breakfast was very good, and all staff members were super accommodating, kind and friendly. There is a restaurant and bar on site. The one complaint was you could hear people walking/talking in the room next door or if they were walking in the halls. Wengen was one of my favorite towns that we visited. It’s family friendly, near a lot of hikes and train station.

Old world charm in a beautiful setting. From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and helpful.The morning breakfast buffet had a variety of foods and were appetizing. A real treat was the pianist at night setting the tone of a world gone by. Would love to stay here again it is also a one minute walk from the train station. Give them a call and they will take your bags from the station to the uphill climb to the hotel..

Very friendly staff. The restaurant for dinner was very good but a bit expensive- well trained staff. The room was spacious. The heat is not turned on during this time of year. Sauna and steam access was a welcomed surprise. Close to train station.

Nice hotel close to the train station. Breakfast was typical for Europe. You do have to climb a hill from the train station to get to the hotel. Also there is no parking in Wengen so keep that in mind if you have a car.

I can’t say enough about the friendly and responsive staff. Stunning views and charming lobby/living room area with fireplace, bar and piano. Only minor criticism is that there was no small refrigerator in the room. Front desk and Mauricio at the bar were super-nice and responsive. New cook, who owned his own hotel for 3 decades in Alsace, was excellent!

Enjoyed our stay at Regina, it is in a fantastic location. Ski in/ out The staff were very helpful and we felt very welcome. The hotel is a grand dame, decorated for Christmas it has a charm that new smart establishments can’t re/create. The spa of steam room and sauna was great at the end of the day. Our bed was very comfortable and slept very well, but had to leave the balcony door slightly a jar because there was no way of turning down the radiator, not very eco friendly. No fridge or safe in the rooms. Very cute balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains.

Beautiful view on the Jungfrau from the balcony and friendly employees were the positives for us. However, the room had a musty smell of old fabric, and the carpet was nasty. The grout in the shower had mold on it. When we opened the room, we had to open the window and the balcony door, because the smell was very uncomfortable. With a good renovation, this could be a prime spot, but unfortunately, it felt way overpriced for a room that we did not even want to spend any extra time in besides sleeping.

The best things about the Hotel Regina Wengen" are the staff (excellent) and the incredible views of the Swiss Alps. The hotel is located in Wengen, although the address shows as Lauterbrunnen. This is an issue if you plan on driving because Wengen is a car-free village; you cannot drive to Wengen - you'll need to take the train. (It's an 11 minute train ride and the trains run every 30 minutes.) The low cleanliness rating is due to a strong smell of urine in the bathroom upon check-in. Otherwise, the cleanliness of the room and property as a whole were excellent. We ate dinner at the restaurant (ribeye steak) and were disappointed. This is an important consideration because there are a limited number of dining options in Wengen and most close early evening. (The bakery in Wengen is exceptional.) This is a historic hotel. If you're particular about modern conveniences, the bathroom in the sleeping room could use some updates. Limited space for toiletries, and only a hand wand for a shower. (I prefer a fixed showerhead I can stand under.) The hotel rooms do not have A/C, so you'll need to sleep with an open window/balcony door to stay cool in the warmer months (we were there in August). Wengen offers a relaxed stay and offers a good base for those heading up to Jungfraujock. For those traveling by car, consider a stay in Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen instead. (Once my wife got over having to take the train, she enjoyed our time at the hotel and in Wengen.)

God udsigt fra værelset. Badeværelset i meget dårligt stand med mindst 20 defekte vægfliser samt mug/skimmel på hele loftet. Hotellet er meget slidt men ligger godt og centralt for banegården.

Everything was wonderful! Location ,hospitality and food amazing! Views from room were amazing!! But, the shower was moldy and toilet had dark brown stains. A deep clean and update the scratched up furniture this would have been perfect!!! Parking is limited and you have to hike your luggage up the hill a bit.

We had a fabulous short stay here. The hotel is very close to Wengen station and we managed to walk up the hill with our (small) cases without too much bother. Check in was with the lovely Miriem (sorry if I've got that wrong!) who showed us around and gave us plenty of information about the hotel. The room was good (deluxe double with balcony), beds were comfortable with plenty of space. Bathroom was basic but clean. There were lovely little welcome touches, such as a personalised card and biscuits. There's a kettle (hoorah!) and a coffee machine. But the absolute best part was the incredible view, which actually brought us to tears as we were so overwhelmed. We were lucky enough to be in a corner room with two balconies so had morning coffee on one overlooking beautiful chalets and the valley and evening drinks on the other for sundown. We made use of the outdoor swimming pool (6 francs) which is just a few minutes walk away and we had a quick walk through the town which looked very lovely and lively. We'd planned to go for drinks and some live music but were too tired from our excursions to Interlaken so just enjoyed drinks on the hotel terrace instead. We popped to Lauterbrunnen to see the waterfalls as this is only a 10 minute train ride down the mountain. We were also lucky enough to meet the hotel's resident dog, Caramel, who came to give us a friendly welcome. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and definitely recommend this hotel. We will be back!!

View from upper level room was breathtakingly beautiful! Room was clean, a little dated. But no complaints. The Hotel didn’t tell or warn us about the access via train only. Almost missed the last train from Lauterbrunnen…would have appreciated a heads-up!

Our stay at this hotel was super. We received a warm welcome and our deluxe room was so comfortable and clean with fabulous views from the balconies...yes, there were two. The staff members were all very engaging, happy to assist with any query. The breakfast choices were good. Overall the atmosphere is very relaxing and this beautiful hotel allows guests to unwind surrounded by the spectacular scenery.

Stayed here for 3 nights and loved it as a solo female traveler got the attic room with beautiful views of the mountains and the village. There are few steps to get to the hotel which was totally fine. They will help you if you ask. Very convenient and few minutes walk from the train station.

Enjoyed our stay at Regina, it is in a fantastic location. Ski in/ out The staff were very helpful and we felt very welcome. The hotel is a grand dame, decorated for Christmas it has a charm that new smart establishments can’t re/create. The spa of steam room and sauna was great at the end of the day. Our bed was very comfortable and slept very well, but had to leave the balcony door slightly a jar because there was no way of turning down the radiator, not very eco friendly. No fridge or safe in the rooms. Very cute balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains.

Hotel Regina is just steps away from Wengen train station. It’s like taking a step back in time entering the reception area. It was the first hotel built in Wengen. The breakfast was very good, and all staff members were super accommodating, kind and friendly. There is a restaurant and bar on site. The one complaint was you could hear people walking/talking in the room next door or if they were walking in the halls. Wengen was one of my favorite towns that we visited. It’s family friendly, near a lot of hikes and train station.

Old world charm in a beautiful setting. From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and helpful.The morning breakfast buffet had a variety of foods and were appetizing. A real treat was the pianist at night setting the tone of a world gone by. Would love to stay here again it is also a one minute walk from the train station. Give them a call and they will take your bags from the station to the uphill climb to the hotel..

Do not book this place.! Not worth single euro. Hello, Currently I am staying at this hotel and booked it for 2 nights in wengen. I would definitely wouldn't recommend anyone to book this stay. Most unfriendly staff and very bad service. Not even worth a single penny. They gave us a rooftop room where we had to use staircase everytime it created problem with luggage and my mom was facing difficulty and gave us a room opposite to a lift service room where I was able to clearly hear the noise whole night and couldn't sleep at all, when requested room change hotel staff was not at all friendly and supportive very bad service old rooms

I went back and forth between a couple different hotels in Wengen before settling on the Hotel Regina Wengen. And boy and I glad I settled on the Regina. This was the second leg of a larger trip to Switzerland where I was celebrating a rather large milestone birthday (begins with a '5'... eek!). When we checked in, we were greeted with the super friendly staff who let me know they upgraded us to a suite in the hotel. So our room for 5 nights in Wengen was the Suite Magdalena. A beautiful cluster of rooms with a separate living space, bedroom, large bathroom and a hidden dressing room. All of the rooms had an exit to a balcony where I'm pretty sure I took all my best pictures of the trip (great view of Monch and Jungfrau). I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate a birthday. Breakfast was also included and absolutely immaculate. The buffet was huge, with many choices for many different diets. My wife and I are vegetarian and had no issues setting ourselves up for a day of hiking with the breakfast we were supplied. Location is perfect. I originally choose the location because it appeared to be close to the train station on a map. Indeed, it's VERY close to the train station (yet, very little noise from the train in the room). It was perfect as a base for getting on the train and checking out the region. It was also within a 5 minute walk to nearly all of the restaurants in Wengen. Memories of this hotel will stick for a LONG time.

I can’t say enough about the friendly and responsive staff. Stunning views and charming lobby/living room area with fireplace, bar and piano. Only minor criticism is that there was no small refrigerator in the room. Front desk and Mauricio at the bar were super-nice and responsive. New cook, who owned his own hotel for 3 decades in Alsace, was excellent!

We had a fabulous short stay here. The hotel is very close to Wengen station and we managed to walk up the hill with our (small) cases without too much bother. Check in was with the lovely Miriem (sorry if I've got that wrong!) who showed us around and gave us plenty of information about the hotel. The room was good (deluxe double with balcony), beds were comfortable with plenty of space. Bathroom was basic but clean. There were lovely little welcome touches, such as a personalised card and biscuits. There's a kettle (hoorah!) and a coffee machine. But the absolute best part was the incredible view, which actually brought us to tears as we were so overwhelmed. We were lucky enough to be in a corner room with two balconies so had morning coffee on one overlooking beautiful chalets and the valley and evening drinks on the other for sundown. We made use of the outdoor swimming pool (6 francs) which is just a few minutes walk away and we had a quick walk through the town which looked very lovely and lively. We'd planned to go for drinks and some live music but were too tired from our excursions to Interlaken so just enjoyed drinks on the hotel terrace instead. We popped to Lauterbrunnen to see the waterfalls as this is only a 10 minute train ride down the mountain. We were also lucky enough to meet the hotel's resident dog, Caramel, who came to give us a friendly welcome. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and definitely recommend this hotel. We will be back!!

This classic hotel was in a perfect location for my stay in the Jungfrau area. I'm travelling by train and it is just a few steps from the station. I enjoyed the feeling of staying in one of the grand hotels from an earlier era of travel. I had a valley view room on the third floor and looking out from my balcony was a great way to start the day. Breakfast selection was very good and I also enjoyed three dinners in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel close to the train station. Breakfast was typical for Europe. You do have to climb a hill from the train station to get to the hotel. Also there is no parking in Wengen so keep that in mind if you have a car.

View from upper level room was breathtakingly beautiful! Room was clean, a little dated. But no complaints. The Hotel didn’t tell or warn us about the access via train only. Almost missed the last train from Lauterbrunnen…would have appreciated a heads-up!

We had a very pleasant experience at the Hotel Regina in Wengen. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly at check-in and in the hotel restaurant. The dining room overlooked the Lauterbrunnen valley below with spectacular views. The food was outstanding, I had the leg of lamb and it was excellent. We will return next year to enjoy the views and food!

The best things about the Hotel Regina Wengen" are the staff (excellent) and the incredible views of the Swiss Alps. The hotel is located in Wengen, although the address shows as Lauterbrunnen. This is an issue if you plan on driving because Wengen is a car-free village; you cannot drive to Wengen - you'll need to take the train. (It's an 11 minute train ride and the trains run every 30 minutes.) The low cleanliness rating is due to a strong smell of urine in the bathroom upon check-in. Otherwise, the cleanliness of the room and property as a whole were excellent. We ate dinner at the restaurant (ribeye steak) and were disappointed. This is an important consideration because there are a limited number of dining options in Wengen and most close early evening. (The bakery in Wengen is exceptional.) This is a historic hotel. If you're particular about modern conveniences, the bathroom in the sleeping room could use some updates. Limited space for toiletries, and only a hand wand for a shower. (I prefer a fixed showerhead I can stand under.) The hotel rooms do not have A/C, so you'll need to sleep with an open window/balcony door to stay cool in the warmer months (we were there in August). Wengen offers a relaxed stay and offers a good base for those heading up to Jungfraujock. For those traveling by car, consider a stay in Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen instead. (Once my wife got over having to take the train, she enjoyed our time at the hotel and in Wengen.)
The best things about the Hotel Regina Wengen" are the staff (excellent) and the incredible views of the Swiss Alps. The hotel is located in Wengen, although the address shows as Lauterbrunnen. This is an issue if you plan on driving because Wengen is a car-free village; you cannot drive to Wengen - you'll need to take the train. (It's an 11 minute train ride and the trains run every 30 minutes.) The low cleanliness rating is due to a strong smell of urine in the bathroom upon check-in. Otherwise, the cleanliness of the room and property as a whole were excellent. We ate dinner at the restaurant (ribeye steak) and were disappointed. This is an important consideration because there are a limited number of dining options in Wengen and most close early evening. (The bakery in Wengen is exceptional.) This is a historic hotel. If you're particular about modern conveniences, the bathroom in the sleeping room could use some updates. Limited space for toiletries, and only a hand wand for a shower. (I prefer a fixed showerhead I can stand under.) The hotel rooms do not have A/C, so you'll need to sleep with an open window/balcony door to stay cool in the warmer months (we were there in August). Wengen offers a relaxed stay and offers a good base for those heading up to Jungfraujock. For those traveling by car, consider a stay in Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen instead. (Once my wife got over having to take the train, she enjoyed our time at the hotel and in Wengen.)

The hotel is conveniently located close to Wengen train station, and our room had a beautiful view, including Staubbach Falls. Unfortunately, the bathroom was very dated and poorly maintained, with black staining on the shower curtain and around the taps. Our room also had no fridge, and we were told only Superior rooms have them. When we asked to store some items in the hotel fridge, we were refused and told to keep it on the balcony instead. We were then charged CHF 5 for a bucket of ice. There was also a light shining into the room at night, and the curtains didn't block it properly, making it difficult to sleep. The location and view were excellent, but for the price, we expected better maintained facilities and more helpful service.
